Lovely food lovely atmosphere …. Polite staff …. Will be returning again very soon …. Very nice restaurant … my whole family loved there food and drinks .. very realxing meal nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff ,,food exceptionally well presented

We stayed a night here as it wasn't far from a wedding we were working at. The accommodation was warm, clean, quiet and beds comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty and excellent value. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We visited on Sunday for a family lunch, the roast beef was absolutely delicious and so tender. The staff were incredibly friendly and went the extra mile to ensure my children were happy. We can’t wait to come back again!”

One star is for the waitress otherwise I wouldn’t have left a single star. I would visit here regularly a couple of years ago and for one reason and another we stopped going so decided to go back and oh my god what a huge disappointment. So the roast beef is £20.95 so you would think for that you would get quality and quantity well it was the worst serving of sirloin beef I think I’ve ever had, one and a half slices of overcooked meat and I would question if that was a sirloin cut. I complained and the waitress who was lovely checked with the chef and feedback was that it was the portion size head office allows per serving. Well head office need to get their act together as it’s daylight robbery and based on that I won’t be going back!

Lovely lunch at the Green Man after a spontaneous drive! My partner had the Crab linguine & I had the Sea Bream. Both excellent! Service was very friendly.

Popped in for lunch. Greeted by the manager Guy, and shown to a table. Good food choices, nice variety. Really enjoyed the Teriyaki chicken wings. Couldn't decide on desserts, so we shared - the lemon cheesecake was delicious! Very nice decor, good country pub vibe. Huge garden, and a good amount of parking. Will definitely return to try the Sunday roast!

Company booking over night stay. Situated in a really lovely area and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. On arrival I wasn't really sure where I had to check in and didn't know what to do with the room key on check out as I left before the pub was open. The rooms are situated in an outbuilding as well as above the pub. There were children running around and I could clearly hear them in my room, it is a very outdated room and was pretty cold. I also found there was no hair dryer in the room, which really surprised me! Otherwise the room was clean and the food I ordered was lovely. They even brought the food to my room, which was great as I didn't fancy sitting in the restaurant after a long day of working and driving. My biggest issue was with the door to my room, it was really hard to close and required a lot of effort. I'd come back for food but wouldn't come back to stay. I can imagine it being very noisy in summer but it was a great pub.

Great bed and breakfast . Landed 2pm after a long journey. Was met by a nice guy at reception, couldn’t do enough for me and my little dog. Was given room 10 , one of the courtyard rooms .It was lovely and warm, bathroom was spotless ( I am a retired head housekeeper so was looking hard ! ) . The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and separate shower which was a nice surprise. Good crisp white linen on the bed and a decent sized TV .plus a small fridge for a bottle of wine . I slept like a log , it was so quiet . Breakfast was very good, perfectly poached eggs with bacon, sausages , hash brown, beans and whole meal toast. Barista coffee and help yourself juice bar. What a great find! I will be booking again next time I am here for a family get together .

What a disappointing Sunday roast we had this week. Six of us dined, upon one of the couples recommendations. Who were extremely embarrassed after the event. The starter of King Prawns was not king prawns at all, just regular standard prawns. At £10.50 to boot! The roast potatoes were like deep fried tinned potatoes, accompaniments were missing and not mentioned as not being available, ie pork crackling, bread sauce. Changes to the menu should always be communicated to customers so that they can change choices if need be. We had 1 carrot and 2 green beans each, which looked a little sad. My chicken was OK, but wasn't a supreme as advertised. Those that had the beef were disappointed as it was quite tough and very chewy. The prices here are high and the quality on this occasion was very poor. The drinks prices were astronomical too@ £21 for 2 large glasses of pinot blush. We did speak to the team, who were very apologetic, and a discount was applied to our bill, but it still came in at 213 pounds for 6 of us! No reason was given as to why our experience was so bad, maybe overbooking or lack of staff, goodness only knows. I would avoid this restaurant on a Sunday for sure.

Well what a disappointment and quite honestly a terrible Sunday Lunch, the worst I have ever had! It seemed as if the resturant had run out of pretty much everything and we had a 1pm booking, they did say there would be a 30 min wait as they were busy but from what I could see there were plenty of empty tables. We started off with drinks, dreadfully overpriced, 5 out of 6 of us went for the King Prawn cocktail it came with no King Prawns and a watery sauce. Mains were dire, the beef was over cooked, chewy and tough, my partner had the trio his chicken was rock hard, we all got I piece of carrott and 2 green beans each, I could hardly see the roast potatoes they were so small and they weren't roasted! There was no crackling and they had run out of bread sauce, in fact the portions were so small it appeared they were running out of just about everything and nothing was relayed to us customers until we had to ask! We did get a small discount after asking but IMO it wasn't enough! We went on the recommendation of the friends we were eating with and they were extremely embarrased. The staff were pleasant that's about the only good thing I have to say but we won't be going back

Having been here in the past and been very impressed, this time we were disappointed. The trio of roast meats were tiny portions of 3 meats, charging £6 more, but with no more meat than the regular roast meal . They had run out of roast beef at 1.30, roast potatoes appeared to be deep fried new potatoes,didn't put the crackling or bread sauce on as advertised - then supplied a dish of warm pork scratchings and said they had no bread sauce left. For around £24 it was poor value. Fruit crumble topping was just raw crumble mix on top of stewed fruit - it was dry and powdery, and tasted uncooked. With a large pinot grigio at £10.55 and a pint of coke at £4.50, this is sadly one dining venue crossed off our list.

Food OK, but the drinks are exstornate £ 11.35 for a 250 glass of Malbec, a bottle is 28.95 so charging you £6.00 over

A group of 40 of us WI members went there for lunch last Thursday (4th Jan) and were unanimous this is one of the best places we have been to. Amazingly well catering for a large party, prompt service, generous portions, food and plates hot and team members around when they were needed. On leaving they were one chef down that day but we would never have known that. Truly professional. Thank you all.

This was our WIs festive lunch. 39 of us attended and were made very welcome. We had pre-ordeted and our choices were served very efficiently by staff who were helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and well presented. We were particularly impressed when we discovered that the chef had called in sick this morning. I don't think anyone noticed and the attitude of all the staff was all the more impressive under these circumstances. Well done - I will definitely visit again and would recommend you as a venue.

We went here for a pre Christmas dinner get together. Having been here Christmas 2022 and had such a good meal and positive experience. However this time was entirely different . What a disappointment. It was hard to find any turkey on the plate and the only vegetables were cabbage and parsnips. The desserts were large portions given to compensate I believe for the small dinner portions. There was only 2 other tables occupied. The staff serving us were efficient and pleasant but will not be returning any time soon.

Had a lovely meal here. We were a large group with several children. The staff were wonderful, we were never made to feel like the kids were in the way which you can get in some places. Food was served promptly and was really good. We will definitely return - a great family friendly place. Thank you.

Went for our family pre Christmas dinner that was booked for 2pm that was all pre booked over email and didn’t get our starters till 2.40pm soup was cold! Waited until 3.45pm and still no mains we walked out in the end and not a member of staff in sight! Very disappointing will not return

Have eaten here on numerous occasions and would have highly recommended it in the past BUT! I’m afraid we won’t be returning anytime soon. The sausages looked under cooked, food was just about hot, yes we should have complained at the time, silly of me not to. It was absolutely freezing cold in the bar/restaurant. The person who I assume was the manager said it was cold because of the windows!!! We’ve never been cold here when we’ve visited before, the fires didn’t appear to have been lit. Usually the place is very busy but there was only one other table occupied, it was probably a sign it has ‘gone down hill’. Didn’t stay for coffee as I was frozen to the bone. Very sad as we have always loved this bar/restaurant to eat at. The waitress was friendly and very efficient.
