Oh dear! What a shame. Food.. barely edible. Wine....not even a good vinegar. Place was a shambles really. A spare room piled high with junk, wet towel on the floor was there for all to see. Waiting staff were fine. Not a place to revisit unfortunately.

We had Sunday lunch here and it was great. We live in the local area but first time for me eating here. We had a family lunch for my mum's birthday. The Sunday lunch was excellent, reasonably priced and lovely quality of food. A nice properly home cooked lunch with a comfort feeling. Plenty of veg provided, not skimping on sauces or anything. The desserts were delicious too, traditional, yummy and again reasonably priced. Once again, good size of portion and no skimping. The waiting staff were excellent, knowledgeable about dietary requirements and very attentive, great service, friendly and an overall great experience.

Fantastic Sunday lunch with delicious cauliflower cheese in particular. Full of jovial locals, lovely local lasses serving up meals to young and old. Couldnt be nicer. Well worth a visit.

We have recently spent several weeks in Northlew and many nights we had dinner at the Green Dragon, so had the chance to try many of the items on their menu. From the Sunday roast, to pizza night, to fish and chips and everything in between, all was just yummy! Additionally, the owners Dan and Carla, and the staff including Alex , Tracy, Vicky, Grace, Beth and Callum were simply the best, while the villagers were constantly welcoming. The atmosphere in the pub and the comforting food made a difficult personal time much more bearable…..thanks to everyone and can’t wait to come back to Northlew and the Green Dragon.

This is a very small rural pub. Luckily it was a lovely warm evening so we could sit outside. They serve food from a limited blackboard menu. We had the fish and chips which was absolutely delicious with very tasty curry sauce. Excellent value for money and the locals were friendly.

We are moving to the village in a few weeks and had been recommended to the pub . Had a drink there on Easter Sunday and it was packed and food look great. Went for supper last night . Had booked, lucky as it was full at 7:30 ! Staff absolutely lovely , and the regular customers very friendly too . Lovely atmosphere. I had chilli , nice bit of heat to it , clearly home made delicious. Light and fluffy rice and good garlic bread . My partner had the chicken & ham pie , made in the village , and again yummy . Her daughter had creamy mushrooms followed by vegetarian burger , which she said were delicious and the best mushrooms she’d ever had !!!! Great place great food lovely people what more can you ask for ……. Going to be spending many nights there !!!

A holiday in Devon close to Northlew would not be complete without a visit to The Green Dragon. We were lucky enough to visit for Sunday Lunch when roast Lamb was on - my wife’s fave - followed by Bread and Butter pudding washed down with a couple of pints of proper ale. So we had to go back to have the very special home made steak and ale pie and then finally Fish and chips on Friday night. Great food at proper pub prices with real ale and looked after by Danny and his fabulous staff. Thank you all for making us so welcome. We’ll be organising another holiday in Northlew so watch out! The locals also very welcoming.

Visited this pub several times while waiting for completion on the cottage we were buying in Northlew. Loved it then and love it even more now we live there. Very friendly, great home cooked food and reasonably priced drinks. All local ales sold as well as lagers. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit unless you prefer modern soulless pubs with boring menus and warmed up meals.

We travelled from surrey to visit the Green Dragon again. It is a gem of a pub, Dan and the locals make you feel welcome. The food is great and really reasonable, if you are there on a friday morning you can get a cooked breakfast too. I wish there were more places like this around.

Visited with a group of friends for a friend’s birthday. The staff here are so friendly and the drinks very reasonably priced, lovely quaint building with a good outdoor space. Excellent traditional pub, we didn’t have food but the locals assure us it is very good

We had a great couple of evenings at the green dragon, very friendly staff and locals. Food good and plentiful and the banoffee pie is one of the best I’ve ever had. Worth a look if you’re passing through.

In these COVID times the range of real ale was reduced to just one, and a limited menu was available, but everything was nice and reasonably priced.

So, pouring with rain, we walked into this village pub/ restaurant. We were immediately greeted by a welcoming regular crowd. Nothing special you might say but in these times.... Then we were told about the menu which changes daily. The kitchen run by two ladies presented an inspirational range. This ran from traditional English to exotic concoctions. We visited on two further occasions and the food was well presented, delicious to eat and more than reasonable in price. Combine this with a great landlord and open fire, all we or anyone could wish for. Thank you Dan Callum and staff
