Best Pie & Mash locally in Thurrock. Always nice to eat lunch here food is cooked to order and does not take to long. Lots of tables but does get busy mid morning and lunch times

Refuse to be served and told to leave my crime I am blind and my guide dog was not welcome . Feel very upset by this cafe regarding its discrimination?

Not had pie and mash since leaving London fifty years ago. Thought I would give this establishment a try. Really did not expect much. But to my surprise it was really nice. Hot, tasty with a good size pie and plenty of mash and parsley sauce. The premises were exceptionally clean. Tables etc wiped down after each customer, which was reassuring. Well done Grays Cafe. I will be back.

I was literally passing this place (on my way to the Thameside theatre) when I saw the Pie and Mash sign. It's a rare find these days so I popped in and asked if I could order a take out to collect when I'd finished work for the day. They said they closed at 4, but would still be cleaning up after that and would wait for me! How nice! I ordered and paid for double pie and mash twice, and was there at 4 on the dot. My dinner was ready and it meant no cooking for me that night! My brother (we were brought up on pie and mash from babes in arms!) was delighted with my find and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Would happily recommend and will reorder when I am next in the neighbourhood.

Terrible service , ordered 2 pie 2 mash when my delivery came had no pies in my delivery, when I called up they said I have to come down and collect them , If I wanted to come down there I would of done that in the first place , man on the phone very rude , won't be spending my money here again

One of best cafes in Grays not just pie and mash a whole range of meals and snacks. Been coming here for awhile and service is excellent and staff friendly Pie and mash is tasty and they do a cracking egg and sausage sandwich

Visited on Fathers Day. Food was great and fresh. The kid’s loved there food too. The only thing needed to be done was the Machine that makes the tea needed descaling.

For a change I fancied pie and mash on Sunday. I ordered it as a take away and it was delicious. I will definitely be having this again in the future.

we went to grays cafe to get pie n mash in phoned and placed an order and it was ready for collection wonderful service friendly staff and really good pie n mash. we travelled from cambridgeshire to get it will be going again in the near future.

Pie and mash for two with teas for £8...can’t go wrong...okay so a fight kicked off outside whilst we were there, but that just added to the experience...

Thought we'd try this, as a lot of people raved to me about it, and it was very good, outsides tables, if you wish to sit there, but a lot of traffic, so preferred indoors, staff were very friendly and helpful, we both had a breakfast, which was of good quality and value for money, will definetly return

I go there at least once every two weeks, the food has always been good there and great value for money.

Breakfasts are amazing! Cooked perfectly. Pie and mash not quite east end, but still yummy. Reasonably priced, good size portions, friendly staff! Very clean.

Nunca tuvimos una mala comida y creo que hemos intentado todo en el menú. Todo el mundo es amable y cuida de usted si comer en el restaurante o para llevar. A veces pedimos una llevar por nuestro trabajo y nunca he tenido problema alguno....

Este es un café de la familia y la comida es muy buena, especialmente el de salchichas y sandwiches de huevo hecho con creo que pan.

The traditional pie and mash shop seems to be a dying breed and it is good to see it thriving by combining this east-end speciality with a regular cafe to increase the number of customers allowing us P&M lovers to get our 'fix' whenever we want.The service is fast and the staff are friendly. The food is excellent and not expensive.

Great honest food exactly as advertised. Been here a couple of times and always been happy with the service, food and cleanliness. Worth a try, you'll not be disappointed

I always forget to rate the places I go to near home. But, remembered today as I was tucking into my breakfast. As the name of the cafe states, it does pie & mash, which I've had, it's scrummy. They do a range of all day breakfasts, which I mostly have - full English, with B&B and tea or coffee, £4:30! I haven't tried, but people I know have, the full roast dinners or the burgers and chips, no complaints. All in all, good grub and good prices, fast cheerful service, makes me a happy person!

Does exactly what you'd expect, butt very well. Great breakfasts and baguettes. Not tried the pie and mash but never needed to, as there is plenty to offer.

Being from East London I am used to good pie and mash. The Grays cafe do a pretty good job at replicating the taste of traditional pie,mash and liquor. We'll worth a try. They also do the usual cafe fair plus lovely fresh salads

During a recent weekday visit for my work to Essex I stumbled across this Pie & Mash shop and was more than satisfied with their food. Good value for money and left contented.
