Under staffed and staffed by underskilled. Waited 12 minutes to be server in a bar with 10 people in, while 2 or the 3 people working, collected glasses. Only then to be told that we were waiting at the wrong part of the unmarked and unattended bar. There are many more friendlier and more attractive venues to frequent in Tooting. Try the Castle or Cocktails in the Broadway Market for a friendly smile and helpful, attentive staff.

We spent an evening here with a mixture of time spent inside and in the garden. Really comfortable bar with restaurant. Lovely polite staff behind the bar. Friday 18th was my friends birthday, they had a good time…like sitting in your front room…. Lots of room and convenient place to meet friends in Tooting Broadway. Lots of Buses and underground trains.

Usually love this pub in normal times but went a few weeks ago and it was absolutely freezing. I literally stayed 45 mins and left. When I asked why they didn’t have heaters they said they would need 50! My response was so... if you want people to stay in the facility and carry on buying drinks you need make it suitable for people to stay so surely worth buying the heaters?? Right? I think their just being stingy to be honest and missing a trick. Not all the tables have shelter for the rain either so it’s not a good place to go until we can sit inside and even then if you want more people at your pub get some heaters!!!!

I visited with a friend here back in December. Management were so rude, we were minding our own business when out of nowhere the manager told we had to leave as we had drunk to much?!? We asked what had we done but there was no answer. Very arrogant lady manager who was clearly trying to prove some point which was embarrassing and cringe worthy. Would never set foot in the place again. Upon reading the comments on trip advisor looks like we are not the only ones to receive bad service

I went in for coffee at lunchtime. As it happened, I was sitting next to their toilets, and I did think there was a slight funny smell. The lady who took me my coffee said it was the toilets - which if anything made it worse! I later sat somewhere else so I didn't get the smell. However, I did have occasion to use the toilet afterwards and someone kindly opened the disabled one for me, and I could certainly get the smell there. Also the tap didn't work and there was no soup or dryer. Whether the ordinary toilets were different I don't know. The coffee was very small for £2.30, compared to what I get elsewhere, e.g. the Peabody cafes in St George's Hospital, and was very cold when it came so I complained and was given a bigger one at an acceptable temperature. On the credit side they were very good about bringing my coffee over for me, and about replacing it, but I have to say it wasn't their good day.

Me and my partner came on our night off work for a nice drink and atmosphere. On first glance the bar seemed lacking but hearing of the garden we were thrilled on the sunny day. Instead the garden lacks charm and character, the space could be utilised so much better and the mood gets lost in the vast space. Little disappointed but not disheartened

I have been here twice, once for drinks in the sun in the outdoor area and once for a weekend brunch. I like the place and the outdoor area is large. The reason I’ve given a 3 is that when we came for drinks a not-so-sober bloke somehow got in with a crate of beer and was hassling us to buy it off him, before moving on to hassle other people. It went on for a long time but staff didn’t seem to notice so in the end someone had to go and tell them. When I came for brunch, the food was really tasty and prices are quite standard, but the portions are very small compared to other places. Staff are good, and I appreciated that. Would I go back? For drinks, yes. To eat? I don’t think so as it’s not great value for money.

I met a friend here for a drink last night and, because I got out of work early, I treated myself to a hot drink and cake in the garden. Then I moved inside to wait for my friend with beers when it got darker and cooler. I've never had a bad experience in here. Staff are always friendly and helpful when I visit. And for last night it served my cafe and pub needs under one roof (so to speak).

Came for my wife’s birthday on a sunny Saturday afternoon and thought it might be a fantastic venue for a few drinks and a good catch up! How wrong were we!Two staff members behind the bar on a Saturday afternoon who didn’t care at all. All our friends mentioned how long it took to get a drink. Ordered food (a burger) and wrongly assumed it came with fries, of course it doesn’t. Barman forgot to put through food so that took longer. Not good service at all for a large neighbourhood pub. There’s far better in Tooting!! Avoid this one.

The Graveney and Meadow suffers a little I think because of an identity crisis. The fact that it serves the best breakfast/brunch in Tooting does not pull custom away from local cafes because too many people cannot imagine a perfectly cooked vegetarian breakfast accompanied by delicious coffee or tea (green, black you name it) served loose leaf in a pot (I did not think you could get a proper pot of tea in London any more) served in a ....pub. But that’s what you get here. And it’s not just the veggie breakfast but the other options too. Why not five stars? Service a little erratic and I am not sure about the junk yard furniture. Definitely number 1 in Tooting as a cafe though .. in a pub.

It's 7.30pm on a Saturday night and this place is dead. It might be because they have no card machines working so the bar is cash only, or because it's freezing cold. The staff don't seem to mind as they're milling around chatting, not being quick to notice the customers waiting to be served. No where near the professionalism of the staff at The Antelope, which is pretty much next door. My red wine was a 125ml instead of the advertised 175ml, and I've just been charged £8.70 for a double gin and tonic, and they only use nasty Britvic instead of a premium product like Fentimans, which is what I would expect for more than the price they serve cocktails at. All in all, I can understand why it's not packed with locals when most of the other pubs nearby are.

Nestled close to Tooting Broadway tube station and 15mins from Tooting rail station. The pub is busy but never overtly so and a large garden that plays host to Tootopia and Tootmas (pop up food stalls etc). The Graveney does a nice brunch, is weirdly eclectic in style (it looks like a mixture of your great aunts odds and ends!) Some of the seats are uncomfortable yes and it misses a certain vibe but non the less worthy of a beer and a bite to eat.

Went in for a coffee and a place to catch up on some admin. Coffee £2.40 came with four rough style white sugar cubes. Nice touch but not requested, used them anyway! Little odd that the coffee came in an old school cafeteria drinking glass, therefore no handle and no double wall insulation. However, we're all grown ups and can see a hot, welcome, cafe latte for the tasty treat it is. G&M welcomes dogs and a pug and a terrier were having a lovely elevenses, G&M treat included. Seating in the front part limited to chairs and recycled cinema seats. I would be cautious to bring anyone with mobilty issues as the seating lacks choice; prefer some well upholstered, firm sofas with solid ''lauch yourself up' arms. Bright, upbeat soundtrack, good sound level as it did not compete with conversations. G&M a useful place to duck into in the cold and rain.

When I lived in Tooting I loved this place. Today I went back for the first time in 2 years for brunch. We were 6 adults and 5 kids. The venue is still fairly pleasant, although the whole mismatched furniture thing is not as much of a feature as it was a few years ago. The food was poor though. Three people ordered toast and two of them were burned. Not just a little but properly black. How could someone serve that?? Another person's sausage was raw and pink. My full English was OK - but for £10 (not inc coffee) I would expect more. No hash browns, small portions, no bread or toast included, eggs totally overcooked with solid yolks. Plates were cold, so the breakfast got cold almost immediately too. Service very slow when we asked for coffee. When we asked for hot milk it didn't arrive and even when we went to ask again it took 15 mins, by which time the coffee was cold! All very disappointing and shows they are not making the effort. None of us will be back.

I really want to like this place but it's just not up to scratch.I've been here plenty of times for a drink and it does the job as a nice location to meet friends with a spacious beer garden that's particularly great during the summer months. That's where the compliments end.I had brunch here with a substantial group of people and I have to stay the experience was beyond disappointing. I heard great things so I was looking forward to it but the whole service was disjointed, badly managed and indifferent. As a large table I know it's a bit of pain during a busy service but this was just poor. The food came out 1 or 2 dishes at a time over the space of 40 mins which is ridiculous. The first served had long finished but everyone had their meal.Dishes were incorrect and lukewarm (obviously left on the pass for too long). The servers didn't appear to care or try to make it better. The food was even that good but I couldn't give an objective opinion on that because I was so sour from how our service was handled.I'll definitely be back for a drink but brunching elsewhere.

Went to the Graveney and Meadow as their menu looked pretty good, and it's my favourite pub in Tooting. The brunch was alright but I would probably choose going to specific brunch places over a pub for brunch, the service was pretty slow - our food didn't come out for quite a while. The eggs florentine I had was nice but quite bland and the side of smashed avocado I asked for never arrived, my friend asked for smashed avocado and toast and had quite a small portion of avocado.Had to keep going in to fill up our water glasses from the dispenser as well which wasn't ideal, but for a pub, it was quite good... But maybe better for their evening meals, that menu looked fab and definitely want to go back to try that but may not be back for brunch.

But that's what happens when you go from "edgy and urban" to having articles in the FT's property section in the space of a few years. Took two thirds of the dustbin lids here for brunch. I ordered the Spanish baked eggs which were excellent. Big chunks of chorizo all ever so slightly burnt into the dish with loads of bread to mop up the sauce. Boy number one had the English breakfast with he wolfed down. The girl had Eggs Benedict. I found them a little bland but she, again, scoffed the lot. We went to Graveney and Meadow for Sunday breakfast. The staff were friendly and polite but barely competent. Although there was only one other table occupied - and we had only ordered variations on poached eggs - it took 45 minutes to get our food. The food was excellent but we couldn't enjoy it, as by this time one of us was late for an appointment. They are obviously at the forefront of the slow food revolution. We won't be returning.

Was really disappointed with brunch here on Bank Holiday Monday. We arrived and the place wasn't packed and we were told (after 2 of us had ordered and paid already) there was a 45 min wait for food, we were meeting friends so we ordered and sat down and said we'd wait. an hour and 15 minutes later my food arrived, with the poached eggs rock hard so they took the whole ting back (without and apology) and came back out with it a few minutes later and thankfully ti was cooked properly as I was starving at this point! It was an hour later when myself and my friend both realised that neither of us had gotten haloumi with our veggie breakfast - i think we were too hungry to realise at the time! So a very expensive beans, egg, toast and mushroom. Oh and the coffee machine was broken and when my friends joined us after an hour they refused to take their food order, so they had to sneak in starbucks. Would not recommend, which is a shame because the place is really nice and music was good.

Having lived in tooting for the past two years, I've visited Graveney & Meadow at least 5 times as the food can be great. However, I seem to come away annoyed every time. The service is awful every time I go - the staff clearly don't want to be there and it's obvious they have had no training as shown by plates being scraped clean at my table space, right under my nose. I've also sat in there for 2 hours over brunch before as there is no system to the service. The venue is great and has so much potential but it seems confused as to whether it's a cafe/bar/club/trendy brunch place. The "toast your own" idea doesn't really work either. Who wants to be stood over at the toaster whilst their breakfast (which you've probably waited 40mins for) gets cold on their table? Such a shame as it could be so good and looks great with the new refurb.

We came to stay with Friends in Tooting for the night, our friends made a big thing about taking us to this wonderful place for breakfast/brunch. Awesome, I can't wait. Or should I say, I can wait, I can wait and watch my friends eat their breakfast, while I wait for mine to arrive, 30 min later. My breakfast arrived, for £9.50 for a full english, I was expecting so much more. I did not want a full English breakfast, but they had run out off french toast apparently. Now correct me if I am wrong, but my full English had an egg on it, and bread. So what are you missing to make french toast? The staff, looked like they had been out the night before, got proper messed up, then crawled into work, not one person looked like they wanted to be there. No one apologised that my breakfast arrived 30 min after my friends, even though they put my plate down and taken away my friends dirty plates. This left my friends, who are regular customers, very embarrassed that they had put faith in this place, and it did nothing but disappoint. I know I will not be paying a visit again. Sort your staff out, if they don't want to be there, sack them and get people in that want the job.

Great place for an all-day brekkie, which can be hard to find in London and as an Aussie very important! So much space, I've never not been seated straight away. Tapas and cocktails are also great, just be prepared for a slightly more pricey night out, as the brekkie is fairly well-priced in comparison. Also have been here to work on my laptop, so the wifi is another great pull, as well as the various different seating areas. Will be back again soon!

Part of, and in common with the Antic chain of pubs and eateries that pepper South London's suburbs, this place is odd, but not in a particularly endearing or eccentric manner. I came in this morning for a coffee only as Subway's machine wasn't working. I had trouble gauging whether this place is pub, bar, cafe, or a creche. First impressions weren't great as the lights were all turned off and the place seemed like it wasn't open. A slew of mums with pushchairs then entered and headed for the back of the venue. Decor is the now becoming rather over-used "shabby-chic" popular in Shoreditch and surrounds. Chairs and tables are wobbly. Coffee was admittedly good. In summary this place just seems a mess, with an identity crisis.

The decor and different themes of this large space are ideal for anybody, even those with children. The food is good, tasty and brunch options are simple but cater for all. Coffee was cold and seemed slow with mistakes, the staff shouldn't be afraid to use notepads if they want to - It's not a sign of weakness.

Been here for brunch on a couple of occasions, not too impressed but tried to give it another chance each time. Service can be quite slow and abrupt at times but nothing major, food when it comes is generally not bad, not amazing but not bad. Having to toast your own bread isn't really my cup of tea when going for breakfast and would much prefer just to have this done however the fact that the bread comes from the on-site bakery - big plus! The last time I was here, we decided to sit outside in the lovely weather, when ordering food and coffees at the bar, I was told that they had run out of mugs-fine, it happens so were given takeaway cups in the interim but promised proper mugs when available. When we asked for a refill in a proper mug we were then given small glasses with boiling coffee inside - these did NOT work! The glasses were unable to be held for more than 2 seconds without burns and we were then told that that was all they had! Just give me another paper cup then! Generally not a bad place to go and seems to be great for drinks however breakfast/brunch wouldn't a huge loss

I've visited this pub a couple of times now as a friend lives close by.In the evening it's a relaxed but fun pub and the outside area is great in the summer with huge seating area, open air DJ and twinkling lights. I recommend grabbing brunch here at the weekend too - they don't skimp on portions, everything is freshly made and you can taste the quality (the sausages were my highlight - mm!). The staff were also accommodating as I don't eat tomatoes or mushrooms so they let me swap them for potatas bravas and an extra sausage.

Some big reviews here but not sure it lives up to the hype. The atmosphere in the bar is nice and the service is good. The food is reasonably priced and good. Now this is an odd place. If it was smaller you might term it shabby-chic. But it's big and rambling and feels rather tatty and grubby! And the rear "patio" isn't exactly pretty. So not a place to take your house-proud mum then. BUT we just had one of the best full-English breakfasts ever, with perfectly cooked (and tasty) eggs, and beautiful bacon and sausages. The in-house bread was also excellent. All served by very pleasant staff - so if it's a great breakfast you are after I'd certainly recommend it.

Having just moved down to Tooting from Balham we've been very keen to check out the lunch offerings of our new neighbourhood (I'd love to say dinner but a child prevents us from that sort of thing). After the initial confusion as to how the place worked (there are several counters/ bars) etc., we had some baked goods and a vegetarian breakfast. Our 15 month devoured the French pastry and what she could get off my husband's plate. They agreed it was good stuff.Coffee was very good. Food was very good. The feel was relaxed (and with children it's rarely we feel relaxed in a food-setting). If it had a children's play area I would move in, but I'll settle for bringing a toy of my own. I'll go back tomorrow probably.

We had a fairly early table and the restaurant area had a quite relaxed feel. We were welcomed by some really nice service, including a really fun and helpful Spanish waitress. We ordered a variety of dishes including meat, fish and veg. We enjoyed everything hugely, in particular the cod and the chorizo. I really enjoyed the stuffed peppers too! We had a really good variety and you need to make sure you have a bit of everything (dont be stingy!)I really do think you should go and we will certainly be visiting again!

My girlfriend and I were meeting a friend in Tooting and he suggested here, so we arrived early for a spot of brunch. Had heard good and not so good things, but went with an open mind. Mind is now made that that I shall never return. We started with a sausage roll from the very good looking display of cakes and pastries, which was fine, nothing I couldn't have gotten from the Greggs across the road cheaper. But the eggs and chorizo on toast was embarrassing. Completely lacking flavour, no seasoning, poor quality chorizo, toast not buttered, great idea ruined but poor delivery. Partners pull pork with weak sauce, pale fries, cheap bun, completely sub standard. All washed down with small powdered hot chocolate, simply not good enough in an area that is growing in places that offer better products, and will not survive, and on returning home, I found the owners, Antic, have already gone into administration in the last year. This doesn't surprise as when we told the staff of our poor meal, one shrugged and said he was on a break, the other simply 'sorry bout that'. Will avoid all other Antic run sites in area, of which there are 'too' many, and take my money to better run, better value and better products sites such as Chicken shop, meat and shake, The Gorringe Park, Tota and many more.

Shelley and i were visiting her daughter in Tooting over the new year so one evening the 3 of us called in here for tapas. Not having been to a tapas bar before i was really looking forward to this experience and have to say i was not disappointed. We chose 3 dishes of nibbles and about 6 dishes between us and i must admit than when they arrived i thought it wouldnt be enough food for the 3 of us. I was quite wrong, we were all quite full after polishing off the prawns, duck, steak, chorizo, fritata, vegetables, olives, almonds etc etc. It was wonderful. We did have a complaint about one of the dishes however but the waiter was very concerned and apologetic and quickly resolved the problem with a free dish from the menu. After a short break to let the tapas settle we then visited the bakery and had one of the freshly made meringues from the large selection of cakes and sweets available to the customers. An excellent meal and good value for money. £33.50 for tapas for 3 people in London!! now i thought that was brilliant. Having enjoyed our evening so much we went back a few days later for brunch before we set off back home to Cumbria.Highly recommended.

This is a find for South London Tooting, a Tapas Restaurant with a difference. The food is superb, we had the crispy squid with chilli and lime mayonnaise, scrumptious - pea and ham croquettes mouthwatering, red prawns with chilli and lemon delicious. Then onto slightly larger tapas, duck with sweet and sour plums, such a pretty plate and the flavours danced on the tongue. Also the hake wrapped in Serrano ham and served with tiny splashes of mashed potato was splendid. To finish a selection of 3 Spanish cheeses - goats, aged manchega and blue. The desserts come from the bakery so are very cake based. What is also fantastic are the prices of the excellent house wines, starting at just £14 do try the Spanish red fantastically silky. The only downside is trying to get through to book a table. The answer phone takes a message but no one calls you back to confirm, so you take pot luck when turning up for your table. But the excellent restaurant manager is friendly and extremely helpful and has promised to sort this small problem out.

Graveney and Meadow used to do a fab brunch menu with loads of options, but the last couple of times I've been it has been reduced right down to a small & boring selection. French toast - gone. Bottomless coffee - gone. In the end I ordered toast and it turns out you have to make it yourself! The cakes are still great, but I won't be going for brunch anymore - such a shame as the speed & service was always better than Tota (another brunch place down the road). Sort it out!

I have given it a chance a few times but I always fell despite the funky décor this place never really cuts the mustard on atmosphere. I have been to their Tapas evenings a few times and enjoyed but then left after the meal to go to the Antelope for a nice drink. The recent straw on the camels back was a visit with a friend. I ordered my lunch while my friend debated over the menu. She was having trouble finding anything that would accommodate Vegans. She was politely asking the bat man to remove the cheese from the burger and if she could get some relish instead. Simple request yes? The manager who was standing in the background very assertively sated they do not make any substitutions or omissions, a bit rude without actually asking why she was making the changes. The end result was her ending up with a mushroom between burger buns and nothing else. Frankly I was mortified as I had picked the venue but I won’t be making the same mistake again.

I previously loved this place, I only live round the corner and used to regularly take friends and family there and they were suitably impressed. But in the last few months there has been a shift in atmosphere, quality of food and standard of service.I felt compelled to write a review as I'm a local new mum who would like to be able to take her friends to Graveney and Meadow in the day without dealing with loud, unhelpful, unfriendly staff and lack of daytime food choices. Today was the worst service and most unfriendly welcome we've had so far. I was shocked by the noise generated by loud staff cleaning cutlery, singing, laughing with one another or clattering plates. It's Sunday morning... Most people were hungover/ had young children or had ventured out for a quiet brunch. The staff weren't on hand to seat us and I was told I couldn't order my usual French toast as the menu had changed, I went to look at the bakery selection instead... Again the choice was limited. It's such a shame. This place is a real gem and could be amazing. My recommendations would be: lighter meal options on menu; friendlier staff (except the australian guy with longer hair, he's wonderful and very funny) regular theme days like the mad hatters tea party (that was great); maybe host mother and baby gatherings to generate daytime business.

Having previously been to Graveney and Meadow for a drink with a friend a few months ago I didn't have to be asked twice to go back. I loved the decor and the funky vibe, not to mention the sweet smell of bakery treats at the back and huge beer garden. However, I went back there last Saturday to meet a friend for lunch, and it's safe to say I will happily never go back. The manager there is rude and shockingly ignorant. I ordered food and a drink with a very polite staff member in there, and seeing as I have a severe allergy to dairy I asked if I could get the mushroom burger without cheese or aoili, asking instead if they had any relish, chutney or tomato sauce, at which point the manager snapped at me with "the burgers come as they are OK. They are burgers. We don't have relish. We don't have chutney. OK?". His ignorance was overwhelming, his customer service skills are disgraceful and unless he is the sole owner of this bar I would strongly advise some people skill training if he wants to keep food custom. In general, the food and bar service are very disorganised and messy.Side note, I'd advise nobody to eat here as they charge central London prices (£7.50) for a tiny burger (my friend had the cheese burger) and minuscule salad. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a pub, and I've managed a pub for years. Go further down the road to The Antelope where the staff are amazing, the decor is just as lovely and the service and food are worth every penny.

Pret A Manger at London City Airport: A Disappointing Pit Stop 🚫🍽️ If you’re passing through London City Airport, save yourself the trouble and avoid Pret A Manger. What should be a quick and convenient bite turns out to be anything but. 😩 The tables are left dirty and cluttered with trays, making the place feel chaotic and uninviting—hardly what you expect from an airport café. 🧹 The seating area is cramped, with spaces so tight it’s difficult to move around comfortably, especially with luggage in tow. 🧳🚶‍♂️ It wasn’t until after we had started eating that an employee finally came to clear the tables, but by then, the experience was already soured. 😒 As for the sandwiches, once known for their freshness and flavor, they’re now a sad reflection of profit-driven cost-cutting. 🥪 What used to be generous, tasty portions with quality ingredients has turned into bland, uninspired creations that lack any trace of the care they once had. It’s clear that Pret A Manger has lost its way, prioritizing margin over customer satisfaction. 💸 Thankfully, there’s more choice at the gate, where you’re likely to find better quality and service. 👍 If you’re looking for a satisfying meal at London City Airport, skip Pret A Manger and explore other options that won’t leave you disappointed. Your time—and taste buds—deserve better. ✈️👎
