Delicious breakfasts. Happy, friendly team. Our 3rd visit and certainly not our last!

Excellent food and service, good quality food for good value. Excellent service by Mel. Will definitely be going back and recommending the Grange.

Had such a great night here! We were a group of 30 and were looked after incredibly well by Chloe who was very patient and kind with all of us. Food was delicious and there was just a lovely atmosphere. Thanks Chloe for a lovely evening and thanks also to Cameron on the bar for giving us the best welcome!

Chloe was a fantastic waitress, really calm and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing!

We had a group function of 21 this week and it was great. The service was excellent; the food excellent and was delivered all at the same time to the party. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to Jac Ellie Dan Pete Kim and Gem for making the night go so well. Cannot recommend this venue enough.

The food here is 10/10. Professional and speedy service by Jac even though a 20+ party of guests arrived to celebrate a birthday. We eat at Chef & Brewer pubs regularly during the week, the menu is the same at each but,this is the best pork belly we have enjoyed out of all the C&B pubs up and down the country! Simply the best 👌

With a party of 21 people, most restaurants would have struggled to get out hot food altogether. Not the staff at the Grange. Absolutely amazing staff support. Happy to help at every turn. Great food is served here. Everything from veggie and fish options to hearty meat pies. Good sized portions and super tasty desserts. Thank you to the front of house and chef team. Recommended highly.

A brilliant family lunch spent at the Grange. Cameron was very attentive and enthusiastic, looking after our every need. The venue is very cosy and the food, most importantly, was superb

The service by Jackie was very good. We had the roast on Sunday 20th October but although the turkey and roast potatoes were lovely, the cabbage, Savoy, was under cooked (I hate Savoy), the food wasn't very hot. The dessert was gorgeous. The table we were given was in a very noisy corner with a very noisy family. Surely they could have a separate section for people with kids!! I asked for a quiet table away from draughts but that didn't happen. All in all, if the food had been hot, served quicker and less noisy, it would have been more enjoyable.

We came for a dinner with 13 of us. Restaurant was very quiet but sadly the service was extremely slow. Took ages to even get served then had to wait an hour and a half for food. One of our party was told twice that the food she had ordered was no longer available. When she of told at the start. Food was all ok when it finally arrived. Sadly the attitude of our server was awful. She was incredibly rude to more than one of us. The shift manager did come and apologise at the end. Which means we would maybe give the place one more chance.

Really cosy and lovely pub, Mel, our server, was lovely, so attentive and helpful, we have a delicious roast and will definitely be back!

Great food very friendly staff. Could be slightly quicker with service, but the food is so lovely they are getting busier and busier so understandable. Mel our waitress was great and packed up our left overs for the dog

Service was slow. Waitress Mel was rude, after 2hrs when we asked for the bill. Mel commented that the next table had been waiting to order their food. If she was quicker, she should have taken their order We wouldn't have to hang around for 20mins for the bill.

Had breakfast here this morning cooked by Dan and it was lovely! Poached eggs beautifully cooked and wonderful presentation! The service provided by Cameron was brilliant and very professional, even catering for our puppy. We had a great experience and will definitely return! Thank you!

I am a very fussy eater and I am not the easiest person to cater for but both Jacqui who served myself and my sister and chef Ant went out of their ways to accommodate me. I had very specifics and each one was taken into consideration and a dish was prepared for me which was first class and the Italian merlot house wine went down a treat too. Steak was med rare, exactly how I like it, dry grilled,,,no fat at all, excellent!

Sunday 29th September 2024 at 7pm. Great little(not so little) pub and grub place, stayed at the travelodge next door so was a great surprise to have this place footsteps away. The food was really good and was catered for gluten free options too, today we had the trio of meats Sunday roast including beef/pork/turkey, it was very substantial in size too, we had extras including colliflower cheese and pigs in blankets(two almost full size sausages in bacon). Price of the food was also very reasonable for the quantity. £16.99 for the roast alone. In total the bill for 2 including drinks and extra sides was £82.50 which incorporated 2 large wines, 1 1/2 pints of beer and 2 large whiskies and two sides. The server was called "Kim" and what a lovely young lady she was/is, very knowledgeable and very attentive and very curtious. Thank You Kim for making our meal even more decent on a day we had travelled 5hrs for a wake. If we had to come this way again it would be a pleasure to have another meal here. Neal and Sally.

We had Sunday lunch for around 20 people for my mum's 85th birthday. The staff were fantastic, particularly, Megan who looked after us very well. The food came out for everyone at the same time and the drinks orders were done for efficiently. I would go again without hesitation.

Large restaurant, friendly staff (thanks Mel for your attention), a little lacking in ‘atmosphere’ but it it a wet Monday evening.

Megan served us tonight and what a delightful young lady she is. She is very polite and very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful evening Megan you made the finish of our day so delightful.

Shout out to Cam, he went out of his way to make sure our neurodivergent son was comfortable with his surroundings, he was patient and accomodating in his approach.

Kim and Ellie were very attentive and the food was decent enough to satisfy a craving

We visited as a party of 5 for my birthday on Sunday, and they very thoughtfully gave me a birthday card (a personalised hand written one not just a generic one, very impressed, thank you). The food was lovely (although there was a small issue with one meal). Service was attentive but not intrusive. We would like to mention one young man, and I believe he was the manager. Very welcoming from the moment we stepped in the door. Talk about customer service done right. Half our party was already seated, but he immediately asked what we wanted to drink so he could follow us to the table with the drinks. He spoke to us after the meal as we were leaving and was apologetic about the small issue. We all left saying what a credit he is to the pub, and what good customer service he provided. Well done 👍

I would like to thank the staff at the Grange for a lovely meal on Saturday evening. We were served by Leah, who was very professional and ensured we had everything we needed. Yeah was very informative and ensured we had a pleasant evening in the Grange.

We just visited with my parents and children and had excellent service by Mel, she has looked after us on several occasions and always really looks after us and nothing is too much trouble. Food was good, children's portions a little bit small, but overall good.

If you’re staying at the onsite Premier Inn, The Grange is a great option for drinks and dinner. This is an old English pub environment with no loud music. Our waitress Mel looked after us during a very busy dinner service but nothing was too much trouble. Our meals of sea bass and gammon were excellent and good value. The manager Cam served us drinks at the bar after dinner. Highly recommended.

Lovely afternoon lunch with attentive service from Megan. We’ll be back!

Met up with family for evening meal. Extremely long wait for mains to arrive, and it wasn't busy. I wanted sea bass with salad instead of roast potatoes (as I don't eat them) it came with a tiny amount of greens couldn't call it a salad. Fish not hot as was others in the party and one was sent back and broccoli cold.

The most incredible steak sandwich, which was seasoned beautifully! Served with the best beef dripping gravy I have ever tried, delicious! I only wish that the mushroom pie had tasted better, as for the price I was hoping for more.

Went here for my husband's birthday lunch, very well looked after by Kim, we had the soup of the day, followed by sirloin steak & the sea bass, all very tasty & nicely presented. Kim was very helpful when it came to using Tesco vouchers, & as we were about to leave she gave me husband a birthday card, a nice touch. Only criticism would be the menu does not match the one on the Grange website & the menu cards are old & a bit bit tatty which doesn't give the correct impression.

Lovely pub! An unexpected surprise on our overnight stay at the adjacent Premier inn! Jac was lovely and made sure we had a really nice table. The barman/boss was super friendly and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Steak was absolutely delish! Thank you for treating us so well!

Jac was a lovely waitress, friendly, helpful and attentive. All food was lovely especially the sharing ploughman's board. Rice pudding was delicious, husband wants it for his 80th in December. Booked already for family do !

Been here 3 nights and lovely food each time and different staff serving me and can say every one of them as friendly as the other. Mel waited on me tonight but shout out to all the staff here its a friendly place my picture attached shows an empty plate after a mouth watering melt in your mouth steak.

The service was reasonable but the food was poor. My wife’s steak was really tough and my battered fish was overcooked

I came in for lunch and was really pleased with my experience. Haileigh and Kim served us and they were both lovely! The steak sandwich was gorgeous and the biscuit that came with my hot drink was a lovely surprise!

Went for an anniversary dinner. Food was lovely from head chef Ian's specials. Ellie's service was very good and was very patient as I had to much to choose from the menu that I liked.

Staying at the Premier Inn just over the road with family and a family friend for a few nights so had two evening meals there as convenient. Cannot fault it at all. An olde world feel to the Pub/Restaurant, lovely food on both visits, friendly staff (hat tip to Mel and everyone for the service) and as we ordered three courses from a set menu for £20 (exc. drinks) it was real value for money, especially when we are all watching the pennies. If I am back in the area in the future I know where I will be eating!

Really disappointed with our visit to the Grange tonight, been here a number of times and the food and the service was good. Not sure what has changed but wasn’t a great experience!! So we ordered the sharing platter which was plenty of food but no sauce, admittedly we didn’t ask for any but it seem to be quite a lot of dry food without any sauces and we wasn’t offered any. Fish and chips x2 and the duo of chicken was our main orders. 1 fish looked like it was beer battered very thin and hardly any fish! The second fish was more breaded then battered fish was tough but we had to share as the beer battered one was so thin! The duo of Chicken was a breast of chicken with the smallest chicken strips x3 I’ve ever seen! Then had to wait for the extra scampi and bread and butter as they forgot to cook them! A half a slice of bread arrived with a triangle of butter on the top and 3 little pieces of scampi just placed on the table without any apology for the delay! A really poor experience which was a shame as I feel I would have got better value from a weatherspoons!!

We came with our dog Bobby, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating for us with our server Gemma even bringing him some treats! The food was amazing and the drinks were perfectly refreshing for a hot day. We will definitely be returning!! Xx

Went there for a breakfast meeting. I had a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea which was absolutely super, especially as I hadn't had one for ages. The service was super quick coupled with a very attentive waitress. Well done. 👍

We went for a Sunday lunch this afternoon, they had run out of turkey, the potato’s weren’t proper potato’s and the veg was rock hard. The waitress was accommodating, helpful and polite. Not sure I will be returning.

First time in here asked if dogs where welcome andnshowed was told whete we can sit with dogs i noticed the table was a mess and needed clearing had plates and glases and crumbs and bit of food underneath it iasked 3times rwice to the same pwrson for it to be cleaned 1st person just cleared plates and glasses didnt actually clean the second person i asked if i could have a dust pan and brush to sweep under table they did it and missed a largre bit of food witch i pixked up my self table was still coverd in xrimbs so iasked if they could clean the table for the 3rd time had 3 meals only the sausage and mash was satisfactory the scampi was hard the peas where cold the cod batter was creamated and I had beans with that also cold chips wernt exactly hot had to find menus for our self's instead of being given or told where they are they asked if we wanted sauces we asked for tomato came out in a tiny pot that was chipped and was meant to go round a table of 3 people instead of just giving sauce bottles to a table this around 1pm wasn't partially busy when we went in not value for money atatll service was poor food wasn't exactly quick didn't bother to say anything about cold food didn't want to wait another 35-40 minutes not the standards I'd expect from a green king establishment

So disappointing food warm at best quality of food ok asked if a member of staff could clear table she just did glasses table needed wiping down had to ask again it was our fist time there and will be our last as well. Didn't seem friendly atmosphere.

Arrived without a booking but they slotted us in fairly quickly although it was busy. Menu was quite varied, didn't wait long and the food was excellent. Would recommend, particularly if you're staying at the hotel next door.
