Fantastic urban square located cafe. Fully licensed and open all day. One evening for pizza and other evening events. Service great and dog treats if you need them. Thoroughly recommend. Always lively. A bit of urban European cafe society in the middle of Springfield!

We are regulars at this excellent coffee shop. Great friendly staff and food is of a very good standard. We really enjoy their coffee, good roast and consistent. For those who want something different they are licensed and also have seen good milkshakes being served. The carrot cake is the very best, also try the toasted sandwiches. Whatever you enjoy, it’s a relaxed place , easy parking and great staff. (They also cater for your four legged guests) the cupcake seems popular :) Enjoy

Pizza night was very disappointing. Very long wait, pre packaged dough, swimming in oil, undercooked. We had to chase up our order, we weren’t asked if we’d like more drinks when we had empty glasses, the carbonara pizza is just cheese- no carbonara sauce.

Since we moved in the area, we’ve made it a routine to go to Coffee Squared every Sunday for cake and coffee/tea, and it’s one of the moments I’m looking forward to every week. I’m picky with my coffee and it’s very hard to find one that I enjoy, rather than tolerate - Coffee Squared never lets me down, it is honestly the best coffee I’ve had since I moved to the UK. Selection of food and cake is great as well - though, as a regular with a sweet tooth, I would like to see a bit more variety in the cake area (especially when all my faves are sold out by the time I get there 🤭). My only concern with the place is that one day I’ll go there at a different hour than usual and all seats will be taken, as it does get quite busy! Yikes!

Been a couple of times. Coffee is always good. I've really only had gluten free toast there but it's the best gluten free toast ever. Tastes like really bread rather than plastic! It can be a bit slow but definitely worth the wait.

small cafe in beaulieu park behind the main square with sainsbury’s, costa etc.. lovely staff and great quality coffee and great price, much better than costa !! we should be supporting small businesses more i had a vanilla oat iced latte - delicious perfect ratio of coffee to oat milk they also do smoothies including an acai one which i will be trying on my next visit

Regularly visit Coffee squared, staff are always friendly and very helpful. If you can't sit inside there are plenty of tables outside with external heaters. Plenty to choose from the menu, quality of the food is very good.

I have lived in Beaulieu for years and always loved coffee squared. It’s my go to for a coffee, as the coffee has always been so much nicer than other coffee establishments within Beaulieu. I often stop for breakfast as well, the food is always fresh and very tasty. However…. The coffee over the last few months has been disappointing. It’s always too hot and therefore the coffee is burnt and not enjoyable. I feel some more training in making coffee is required. Not to sound like a complete idiot but a coffee should be served between 49-60 degrees and drinkable immediately. The coffee’s I’ve been served recently are boiling and I have to leave it for about 10mins before I can drink it. But most of all, a high temperature burns the coffee and ruins the taste of it.

So friendly and welcoming to a bunch of mums and babies. Yummy food and good portions.

Quite busy, a bit slow, coffee and cakes, what I expected, generally, I liked it.

Used to really like coming here but twice in the last month we have walked away. First time we ordered 2 coffees and waited 40 minutes and no sign of them and when asked was told they hadn't started making them. Last weekend we tried again, sat down and waited and waited and waited. There were only three other people in there and another couple came in and they ordered and were served their food before we had even been asked what we would like. Went to the counter and it was as if we were invisible - 4 members of staff behind the counter , only 1 actually making coffees , the other three just stood doing nothing so once again we walked out and went to Belsteds!! A real shame as the food and drink when you get it is lovely!

It is a nice place ,atmosphere but I will definitely recommend just to enjoy a coffee. That’s all The food wasn’t that good 😕

We had a lovely jacket potato for our lunch followed by fabulous cake 🍰 our meal was really nice it was presented nicely and arrived quickly. The girls who served us are always lovely and friendly.

The coffee was very good and the staff were very friendly also the shop and the toilets are very clean next time we will be going back when we have more time and we will be trying out their food

Was really excited to recommend coffee squared to my friends, as I’ve been going there for quite a while, however, when they arrived I was disgusted to hear that the manager was rude and aggressive towards them. Supporting local business is so important but they make it so hard :(

Awful customer service will not recommend to anyone, reconsider before going! Shame you can’t support local businesses anymore. Rude staff.

Coffee fine, shouldn't charge extra for non dairy milk though and £10 for two cappachinos 😲 also no vegan food options that I could see. Will not return. Sorry but in this case Costa win.

Lovely independent coffee shop with great quality food using local produce. They also serve vegetarian and gluten free options. Child and dog friendly.

Nice atmosphere in here, very friendly helpful staff. Not a huge amount of space indoors, but plenty of tables outside for when its warm. Good coffee, lovely doorstep fishfinger sarnie! Nice range of kids food, more healthy than many places, not just fried stuff. Will come here again - mainly to try the cakes, they looked great.

Totally love this place for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. Sing-a-long nights are fun as are Pizza nights! Avocado on toast brunch - 😋 Must try the mango colada, it is delicious!

We stopped here for a quick lunch this week, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly. However, there was a huge lack of vegetarian options I found, far less than anywhere else I’ve been recently. After I’d decided from the few options I had, I was told there’d be a 45 minute wait for a sandwich. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to wait that long so stuck to just a cup of tea. These reasons would stop me from returning, although I’m sure the food would have been nice.

My friend and I had brunch here, and will definitely be returning. Lovely coffee, friendly staff, comfortable stylish surroundings , and 'The Greek ' brunch was gorgeous

£25 for 2 tuna melts and 2 coffees, paid less in London. The tuna melt had so much Mayo in it that it was very sloppy. On arriving the door was open and was so cold inside you could hear people saying it’s cold. Asked for door to be shut which it was but then they kept opening it. Two people including myself shut it and they opened it again. Expensive place to eat when it’s so uncomfortably cold that instead of ordering another hot drink you have to leave. We weren’t the only ones a mother with baby also said the same thing and left promptly after eating. Shame as it’s a beautiful place but if you’re so inconsiderate as to make your customers cold, which is obvious with customers keeping coats on and customers shutting the door to try to keep warm then you will have customers going elsewhere. We will not be returning.

I've been here a few times before for coffee and cake etc which has always been lovely. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. However, today was disappointing... we had sandwiches and the bread, both white and granary, was very dry, firm and stale. Fine for coffee and cake but I won't be having lunch here again.

After being shown to a table, we waited over 10 minutes before walking out as no one was bothered to serve us.

Had a very nice hot cup of tea & a beautiful toasted teacake outside in the February sunshine yesterday afternoon 7th Feb after a lovely Beaulieu Park walk with a friend. Such a friendly smiley cafe welcomed in by the lovely ladies & given a stamped loyalty card. What amazing Customer Service unlike the Costas on same estate, had run out of Tea (if you please) no delivery according to waitress could offer earl grey or berry tea. Apparently not allowed to walk three doors down & purchase tea bags from Sainsburys!! To please their customers!! Defo lost my business. This Cafe is the place to go for how to treat your Customers & get hot beverages & food. Plus they do Yorkshire Tea Bags!!! Thank you ladies be back soon. Xxx

New to the area and while waiting for a friend I popped into this little coffee shop. Warm and friendly and a really nice welcoming vibe. Excellent staff, Friendly and seems genuine. Had a lovely coffee Mocha and relaxed for an hour. Clean toilets and the girl at the till with glasses and a lovely friendly personality took payment. Definitely recommended and will visit again.

Nice food but they need to be more engaging and friendly to get repeat business! It’s like they don’t care! The coffee is very tasty but this week we decided to go to Costa as they do nice coffee too with a smile. Such a shame as I’d rather support independents!

Turned up to grab 2 takeouts, staff abrupt, "were not seving anyone else darling" terrible 1st impression, xalled to feed back to the manger and was told staff are tired!!! Tried to support local but now at Costa.

First time here, I appreciate an independent coffee place, especially those who are working close to global chains. The welcome was genuinely warm and my friend and I were seated at the last remaining free table. It was around 11am,he had scrambled eggs on sourdough, I went for rhe scrambled eggs, smoked salmon on a bagel. Both were delicious. Coffees were great. Lovely atmosphere, clean and relaxed. Will definitely return. Well done to the team

It’s ok. Underwhelming food that is expensive. Slow service. Coffee is ok. Cake is sliced thinner than a slice of bread but is the price of a piece of cake in Costa which is triple the size. Hot chocolate is very milky and frothy. Not much substance.

We visited by chance late Monday morning the establishment was busy, yet the staff were all very friendly and efficient, hot drinks delicious & coffees included wonderful latte art. . The ambiance of the whole place most enjoyable & we loved the decor (especially the halloween theme). Mum had the Mozarella Chicken & Sundried Tomato Toasted Sandwich on Granary which was served with a fresh side salad, coleslaw & crisps which she thoroughly enjoyed. I went for the Smoked Salmon & Smashed Avocado on Sourdough Toast Wow!!!! the most delicious breakdast bruch have had in a long while compliments to chef &look forward to our return soon. Thankyou!

Nice food, perhaps a little on the expensive side, difficult to tell with inflation as it is. Good service, but originally we were not allowed on the outside 6 person table and were shown inside. We were soon moved to a 4 seater outside.

Have been going to this super place for a few meets with the girlies and it’s just such a brilliant place with super friendly staff and great service. Tonight was a sing along extravaganza. Totally epic and such good fun. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is second to none. Def going again soon.

Great coffee and smoothies. They always want to put me and my son on a rubbish table and get annoyed when I sit at a table i want to sit at. It is a real shame as everything else is great.

Mediocre food and terrible customer service. Please visit if you would like cold food (fish finger sandwich, kids fish fingers and a hot chocolate for 3 separate people in our party were all cold) and to be incorrectly accused that we've been disrespectful to staff (in front of 3 children), just because one of our party misread the menu. The staff member was very sly only to make her comment after we had paid the bill and not at the time the interaction was supposedly taking place. We did not complain about the food or the rude waitresses who seemed to have the hump before we even arrived. We were not aggressive, abusive and did not raise our voice. When we asked what was disrespectful about the conversation that was had, the staff member couldn't respond with anything to justify her inaccurate comment. She seemed happy when we said we wouldn't be coming back. I can only suggest her behaviour and microaggression was caused because she had a problem that we were Asian, as she didn't treat any of the other customers there like she treated us.

The staff was extremely rude when we first arrived, they were quite busy but that is not excuse for her attitude. Our friend misread the menu so she thought the fish finger sandwich came with chips. So when the food came out she asked if there were chips and was shown the menu, and that was it. However, when she paid for the bill, the manager told my friend she was disrespectful to her staff. My friend didn't even raised her voice or anything when she asked about the chips. Totally unhappy with the service.

Son had avacado and salmon he really enjoyed and I had a lovely golden coffee would highly recommend it.

What a great spot! I had to find somewhere to spend most of a day while my car was being serviced, and this was just what I needed. Great staff, good food... even good wifi! I ended up having breakfast, lunch and lots of drinks here as well as getting useful work done. Many thanks, all!

A surprisingly nice venue with decent seating and tables. The coffee was good quality as was the fresh croissant. It was a bit pricey and not busy. The staff could probably be a bit less concerned about seating and where you ordered and paid from but, all in all, a good experience.

Love the environment and atmosphere of the coffee shop. The oat coffees are lovely!The staff are all wonderfully friendly, kind and chatty, it's great to find somewhere with brilliant customer service these days! Came back for a pizza as we had to try the pizzas as we smelt so nice. I love that the cocktails are different, unique and lovely! 😊 The vegan pizza was cooked completely seperately which is a joy to find as Chelmsford makes it difficult not to cross contaminate sometimes but I'm very greatful as the vegan pizza was beautiful, gorgeous vegan cheese, generous toppings (unlike some pizza places that can be stingy), beautifully fresh and woodfired. I recommend to all local vegans and anyone who wants to have great food, drinks and fun no matter what the time of day. Thank you @coffeesquared for being inclusive. Exellent local independent coffee house. Why do people go to Costa 100 yards away? I enjoyed lunch before being joined by family, who had walked a local scarecrow trail, for welcome cold drinks. Bad knees prevented my participation in the walk lucky for me.

The staff are always attentive and are happy to offer suggestions, for someone like me who can never decide what I fancy! Its always clean (even before Covid) There is outdoor seating with heating, for us dogwalkers They do events too. Pizza Fridays are back!
