Fuimos un domingo por la noche, justo antes de las 9 pm, estaba un área al aire libre muy vacía y una gran área interior. Comida ordenada del bar. Me senté en asientos de estilo stand pero casi ningún otro cliente. Hamburguesa decepcionante y papas fritas estaban totalmente sin sabor. Las bebidas estaban bien, pero no había atmósfera, así que no nos quedamos mucho tiempo.

Después de haber visitado un vibrante sábado por la tarde (televisado en el rugby de 6 naciones), me sorprende leer tantas críticas negativas. Una cadena de restaurantes, mi hija adulta y yo disfrutamos mucho de nuestra experiencia. El personal estaba ocupado pero trabajando duro y manteniendo una buena atención al cliente. La comida era buena y estoy feliz de proporcionar un respaldo positivo y un TripAdvisor 4 *.

Un poco confuso en la entrada, ya que no está claro qué hacer si quiere comida (¿es un servicio de mesa? ¿Orden en el bar?) Pedí una hamburguesa doble con tocino con la adición de un 'cubo de papas fritas'. La hamburguesa estaba bien, las empanadas de ternera eran lo suficientemente agradables, pero el tocino era decepcionantemente crujiente. Las patatas fritas eran horribles. No se sirve en el 'cubo' anunciado, pero lo más importante es que están poco cocidos y grasientos, sospecho que el aceite para freír no estaba lo suficientemente caliente. Hubiera brindado comentarios pero ningún miembro del personal en ningún momento me preguntó cómo estaba mi comida. La selección de cerveza está bien, pero me gustaría cenar en otro lugar.

Pedimos la pizza de pollo lickin que se suponía que tenía salsa BBQ pero llegó sencillamente sin salsa y solo queso y un poco de pollo. La base también estaba muy quemada! Mi amigo ordenó lo mismo y salió muy quemado. La camarera se disculpa y dijo 'sí, la base no es muy buena'. ¡Nos quedamos impactados porque el lugar ni siquiera estaba ocupado! Qué vergüenza parecía un lugar tan bonito también. No volveré.

Vi var här en söndagkväll och skulle ha en enklare middag, för det ändamålet dög restaurangen utmärkt. Delade en pizza som inte var så märkvärdig men helt okej. Ett plus var att de hade billiga drinkar mellan kl. 20-22. Ganska fräscht ställe i fint kvarter och väldigt trevligt personal. Kan rekommendera om du är ute efter något enkelt till ett bra pris i London.

Stumbled across this place wandering along Praed Street one Tuesday lunchtime. Lovely terrace overlooking some water features. Great selection of fresh beers, and tasty pizzas. Just what we were looking for 👍🏻

Great place to catch up with mates in Merchant Square. Easy walking to Paddington in a funky square this is a good meeting point. With lots of tables inside and out you can take your pick. The chicken pizza was delicious as was the vegetarian one.

I accidently came across the Draft House as I was alone and on business in from the US, and for this day wandering the streets of London. When I found this place, I was almost the only one there, but as I had a few beers and worked. This place filled up and was so much fun I came back the next day with some of my UK friends. BIG HUGE THANKS TO Matthew and Alice for showing me a good time and being so caring to a stranger. I hope to bring back more Colorado people to enjoy all the many different and delicious beers we dont get here in the US. CHEERS!!!!

We came as a team of 6 for a team outing. Pub was not very full and we were clearly the only ones with a reservation. We got seated in the booth, which was okay but we asked if we can eat outside and were told that we need to order at least one main per person to eat outside (really?!) and (considering that we had dined before here and were expecting the lovely, huge pizzas) we said we'll share large pizzas and they have declined to accommodate us outside (which was, again, empty space).We got 2 large pizzas and chicken wings for the table. The Parma pizza was mediocre and with no toppings on it whatsoever... and The Chicken Liking pizza is the most horrible pizza that can be served and should be removed from the menu !!! We received the first Chicken pizza and it was....half burnt...some girls tried to eat it but was too burnt to even chew. We asked the waiter to bring us another one (he was very lovely and accommodating, which we appreciated - probably the only good thing about this place). When the 2nd Chicken pizza arrived, you guessed it....it was burnt again!!! We ate around it and did not say another thing.....the food experience was already ruined....Chicken wings were alright but not great....There were 2 waiters on the floor and, when the pub got a bit busier, they seemed to struggle and it was quite hard to get their attention which we did not like at all....All in all, we've been here before in November 2017 and had a great experience, pizza was huge (large one) and delicious but this time it looked as if it was a different pub.We will definitely never return and the management should address the menu quite strongly, it will bring the pub down (too bad for the stunning location).Roxana

food was terrible. I ordered a sweetpotatoe-goeat cheese-rootbeat-salad. It was only rear sweetpotatoe and Rucula with some vegetables. Service only Said: „It‘s exactly what it suppose to be“. I ate one bite and paid the whole 9£.

We were told rather rudely when we entered to just take a seat and when we did we waited a pretty long time to be served and the area we were in we were almost the only patrons.

My wife and I decided to have dinner here and wish we hadn’t. The staff were run off their feet and didn’t even acknowledge us on arrival. We found our own table and had to physically stop a staff member in order to get a menu. The food was horrible and overpriced and we couldn’t get out quick enough. Only positive I have is the choices of beer they had available.

Estábamos desesperados por encontrar algo para comer cerca de nuestro hotel y nos quedamos encantados de encontrar la casa proyecto abierto en la noche del sábado. Restaurantes cercanos cerca por alguna razón que era bastante sorprendente para nosotros en Londres y que es un sábado por la noche. Todo lo que puedo decir es que el servicio es muy, muy lento. La mitad de sus artículos de menú no estaban disponibles. La comida estaba bien. Yo estaba preocupado por la limpieza del lugar. Una hormiga estaba repleto en el menú cuando llegamos, y el anfitrión sólo flicked, como si no importa. Comimos allí sólo porque teníamos ningún otro lugar a donde ir y estábamos demasiado cansados para intentar encontrar algo.

Proyecto Casa de Paddington es un lugar donde puedes ir a empaparse en el espíritu de una tarde relajada. Buena comida y excelente selección de cerveza son, por supuesto, un hecho.

Fuimos cuando abrió y tenían problemas de comprensión y de hecho los pedidos de una persona nunca recibió ninguna comida. Confuso porque éramos la única mesa en el restaurante por dentro y tenía que esperar una edad para todo. De todos modos, como se excusaba nueva y dio otra oportunidad, de ahí otro trabajo almuerzo reservado aquí. De nuevo éramos la única mesa comiendo por dentro y de nuevo las órdenes eran deshecha y obtener la factura o atención todavía es un problema. La comida está bien, pero la verdad es que es un lugar para beber que tiene poco interés en la parte restaurante. Hay mejores opciones en Paddington Basin, así que pasaremos a tomar el almuerzo en éste.

The choice of beer here is excellent and even on a Saturday afternoon with the area relatively dead, there was a good atmosphere.

Reservamos una zona del bar para un evento privado y pasamos un tiempo estupendo. El personal era muy bien informado sobre las cervezas, y todos eran amables. Estaba bien organizado, y teníamos una zona para nosotros. Algunos de nuestro grupo tenía comida, que fue justo para el entorno (pizzas, hamburguesas, etc. Y en la organización de los) evento, encontramos la gestión eficiente y amable. Algunas de las cervezas son bastante caros, pero en general lo recomendaría sin dudarlo.

We had a private event at the Draft House yesterday. I cannot speak highly enough about Tom, the manager and his colleagues. They were so helpful and accommodating, introducing us to loads of new and whacky beers, the staff seemed to have a real understanding...

Vine aquí en uno de los días más calurosos del año hasta ahora y la pasamos de maravilla! El servicio era excelente, a pesar de ser tan ocupado. También una gran selección de cervezas en oferta. Sin duda volveremos!

Honestamente puedo decir que me impresionó cómo la mala calidad del servicio de comida en este lugar.

Con un grupo de colegas, pollo burger para plato principal pedimos y luego helado para después. Ambos llegaron juntos, desafiaron la camarera que nos dio 'cualquier 'actitud! Pedí una cuchara. . nunca llegó. Ketchup parecía que había sido colgada todo el día en un bol pequeño, con una fresca como cuando me pidieron algunos. Camarera era "alta" o tenía en la conjunto de merodeando la poca muertos!

Vi satt på resturanten i 2 timer å ventet på maten vår. I løpet av den tiden spurte vi 3 ganger om hva statusen på maten vår var, der vi fikk vite 2 ganger at den var klar om 5-10 min tops. Første gangen var etter 40 min, andre gang etter ytterligere 30 min og til slutt var det en ren tilfeldighet at vi fikk vite at kjøkkenet allerede var stengt og at vi heller kunne få pengene tilbake. Ikke verdt et besøk.

My boyfriend and I came here on Saturday for lunch as we were in the neighbourhood and were looking for a nice new place to try. The decor was cool and when we walked in the bartender was friendly but that was the most memorable part. It looked like the service may actually be good but we were sorely disappointed. They were not attentive at all, we could even see and hear the chefs ringing the bell multiple times to get them to run the food that was piling up on the pass. My boyfriend is a head chef and I used to manager restaurants in Canada and the UK, so I do understand I am more judgmental than most but it's because I know it is not hard to give a good experience to a diner. The food was not terrible, it was average for a pub-like establishment, so we would have not been as disappointed if the server was even slightly attentive. The worst thing was when they dropped the bill (after trying to find someone for 10 mins, sitting there with our coats on already) there was a service charge added! This is what really frustrated me. I get to decide if you deserve my hard earned money as a tip and in this case you really really did not. We left the cash to cover our food costs and left. We won't be back.

Kjempe dårlig service. Det tok oss 15 minutter for å bare få aioli. Det var kjempe få der og likevel klarte de å gi aiolien til feil folk slik at vi måtte bestille den på nytt og vente i ca 10 min til. I tillegg var aiolien frossen da vi fikk den. De klarte også å tulle til bestillingen vår slik at jeg måtte be om pengene igjen, uten at de nevnte noe.

Feels like a common room where u get to see the neighbours u never meet. Really good music selections and they do Pizza which looked great. Definitely a place to visit if u looking for a chill night out but could do with a free more chairs for bar section, still was good fun and friendly staff.

Tried ordering a cask beer the staff could not tell be anything about the beers. In the end I ordered a IPA when it came it was black it was more like a stout, tried ordering an other drink and staff do not have a clue what they are selling.

This used to be the grand union. The place was renovated a few months ago. Same good standard of service but interior much nicer. Plenty of booths with table service remember to book if peak periods. Great location even better in summer when you can sit outside

This place replaced the union bar, the latter was always packed but the food wasn't really good. This place looks like a beer/burger joint XL. Friendly staff. I had the burger deal, which was £6,25. This was just about worth it, if I had to pay full price, then I would seriously been disappointed. Isn't the idea of a cheap deal on Monday to attracts people on otherwise dead nights and to sway people with fantastic food, so they'll be back some other day and pay full price.

Buena comida, buena cerveza, gente real.

Came here for lunch on a Monday due to half price burgers being advertised. There were only 2 burger options beef or vegetarian. I don't eat beef and didn't want the vegetarian burger. Decided to share a few sides with my colleague, truly disappointed. We ordered the mac and cheese jalapeno balls - no flavour or salt to them. Also the calamari and chicken wings were bland too. Only good thing we ordered was the sweet potato fries. In total these 4 items cost £20 - waste of money. Was truly disappointed.

Una nueva adición a Paddington Basin, este lugar es una visita obligada si estás en la zona buscando buena comida, excelente servicio y un ambiente estupendo! Vine aquí con tres amigos esta noche (3 / 11 / 2017) para empezar el fin de semana de mi cumpleaños y estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho! El lugar parece increíble desde el exterior, y aún mejor cuando llegues! Es espacioso, con una decoración estéticamente agradable y buena música. El ambiente tenía un rumor el viernes por la noche. Las bebidas tienen un precio razonable, con remos cada miércoles por £5 (no puedo esperar para probar esto). 22 pulgadas pidió la pizza por 4 para compartir (dos muy grandes rebanadas cada uno), que gentilmente no mitad y mitad porque no podía elegir de todas las coberturas tentadora. La pizza era 15 libras que es tan razonable, teniendo en cuenta que es suficiente para compartir entre 4. También tuvimos algunos lados increíble (también muy razonable alrededor de £5 - 6 y lo suficientemente grande para dos personas). Sin duda recomendaría el alas de pollo servido con una especie de stilton? Dios sabe, pero era absolutamente deliciosa! La comida era 10 / 10 y salió muy rápidamente. Bill llegó a 60 libras entre 4 y tuvimos una bebida alcohólica y estaban totalmente llenos de - más que razonable. Y por último, el servicio era increíble. Teniendo en cuenta este establecimiento es bastante nuevo, el personal era absolutamente perfecto. Nos sirvió una maravillosa camarera, desafortunadamente no tomar su nombre pero ella tenía pelo marrón corto y vasos. Ella era tan entusiasta, amable y acogedor, y realmente nos hicieron quieren volver. Ella parecía que ella realmente disfrutó de lo que estaba haciendo y esto realmente hace la diferencia. El chico con el pelo alargado en una coleta usando un top registramos también era fabuloso, él mantuvo cantar canciones y bailando con el que se agregó a la feliz, relajado. Good beer selection, good food in a beautiful area. The price are fine, and the service is usually quick

Was pretty disappointed with our visit here. Despite it being completely empty we were told we couldn't sit outside unless we had a full meal (chips wouldn't do it apparently) by a very unfriendly blonde woman who then gave our group dirty looks for the one drink we stayed for. Terrible, definitely won't be coming back. Also pretty expensive at £5.60 for a pint of cider.

The staff were so lovely and they were so attentive - I ordered a pizza and it wasn't quite what I thought it would be so they took it back to the kitchen and brought it out perfect! The staff are so attentive and so nice. The champagne was such good value and they gave us a comp pornstar Martini for my friends birthday! Will def go back again!

I went to meet my friends for some drinks and food - we had to book a table but it was just a small deposit (£25!). We sat outside (you have to order food outside but that was fine for us!) and it was lovely. We were right by the water, cocktails were great, service was great and staff were amazing. The only thing I will say is that they close too early... other than that had a wonderful night. Thank you to Simmy and Tom for waiting on us hand and foot!

I work across the road and have been here for drinks many times, which is pretty standard but when it comes to food they just don't seem to get it right. I've had two meals and both have come out badly incorrect, for example I ordered the spicy chorizo burger and it came out with no spice or chorizo... pretty basic stuff!Lots more choices for lunch around the area

Had lunch at this burger place. I had never seen it before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the very good and personal service.Food was perfect for me. Local handmade burger. Price was fine for the place.Interior was comfortable and good rock'n roll music in the background.Will come back if I get the chance.

Had my Engagament Party at the Paddington branch on 3rd March and service was top notch. On Saturday the 18th of February 2017, my wife and I had our wedding reception at the Paddington branch.Now that we’ve settled into our marriage life, I can now finally take the time to give a big shout out to Tom, the Manager and Charlotte, the Sales and Events Manager. Tom and Charlotte were awesome…they surpassed my expectations of what Managers in their capacity would do to accommodate the two of us and our guests. Tom and Charlotte went above and beyond the call of duty, they ensued that everything went smoothly according to my meticulous plan…and then some. That night, Tom was not only the Manager, but he became the wedding planner and reception co-coordinator (liaising with both of my best men before and during the evening). Charlotte liaised with my wife and her bridesmaid prior and ensured that the little bags of chocolates were placed on each table and she even arranged a knife to cut our cakes! Our booked out area was in pristine condition (thanks to the staff), the food was…in the words of Jamie Oliver, “pukka” (compliments to the Chef) and the service was of Michelin standards. The feedback that I received from our guests, was that we had chosen well and that it must have cost us a fortune…which it didn’t. Tom ensured that even my Lactose-free guests had pizzas without cheese…c’mon…who would have done that! I actually mentioned him in my speech!!If anyone ever asked for a recommendation for a venue for a wedding reception, Grand Union can count on me for making a referral hands down. GU Team, thank you making an extremely very special day for the two of us happen.

Was very excited about coming here for their burger and prosecco offer but unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. I had booked for 7 people and called to verify on the day of my booking but when I arrived I was told that they didn't have my booking and that they did not have enough burgers for my party without any sort of apology. They eventually found us a table and offered pizzas instead of burgers. Whilst they did keep us topped up on prosecco, the food arrived separately and the burgers were so overdone that they were inedible, meaning that half of our party were left hungry. Furthermore, 2 of our party who had one of their meat pizzas were left suffering with diarrhoea the next day. Do not recommend.

Stayed at Hilton Metropole and wanted something something quick and handy. Grand Union was directly across the street. Food was definitely below average and the restaurant wasn't that busy, which I suppose is scary, what would the food have been like if the place was packed. Service, to be fair was good, the one thing that stood out for me was the awful smell around the bar area (you know that stale beer smell, anyone who has ever worked in a bar will know it) The whole experience, didn't want me to rush back

Had a great time here! Will the bar man was great, super quick service and he made amazing cocktails. Bradley the door man was also super helpful and kind.Definitely recommend!

I have to say. What an amazing venue. Amazing service from the events manager who went out of her way to make our night as good as possible, plus the manager on the night was a great help.It took away the stress on the night. I thank you guys so so much.We opted for a finger buffet, and the food was amazing. Everybody in the party loved it.I would definatly recommend the Grand union to everybody.

Went here on Saturday night , great music ,excellent food but drinks were a little expensive .Just missed cocktail hour 2 for £10 but did receive a free bottle of Processco for being in a hen party .

I highly recommend the burgers, and if you want a great cocktail, get the Aussie guy, Joel, to make whatever you like. He is awesome at making cocktails.

Had dinner here tonight and would highly recommend. Good food and service, the manager josh was great and the doorman Bradley was very friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Stopped here for a quick drink after a long walk along the Regents canal. The views of the canal and surrounding buildings are lovely at sunset and night. Would be lovely in the summer to sit outside. Drinks were fine and had a good selection, not overpriced. The only downside was that the toilets were a little bit dirty they could do with a regular clean.

Will made unbelievable cocktails and his energy definitely contributed to our night along with the DJs selection of old skool bangers. Will come back for sure.

Will was an amazing bartender - if you go ask for him, he hooked us up, had a great time, he is ready willing and able to try and care of your crew. The best bartender in London.

Met with friends for drinks and a bit to eat. Cocktails are okay however the food was awful, would say the worst meal i have ever had in my life. The salt beef was horrendous. Took a bit into the most fatty chewy piece of meat ever, complained straight away and was offered a 10% discount not offered a replace meal. Also the chips were covered in so much salt. Clearly the chef is not qualified to work in a kitchen. My advise is avoid eating there.

I came on a Tuesday late lunch with my mother. The weather was nice and we sat outside with a view of the Paddington Basin / Grand Union Canal. The inside decor was beautifully done in a Victorian theme and I will be visiting for cocktails and dinner in the evening for sure, it's just round the corner from Edgeware Road Station. For lunch we had Camembert then Fish & Chips. Both of which were really good. Extensive cocktail menu but no desserts were being served whilst we were there. Happy Hour for cocktails is actually Happy Days from 12-7pm.

I have been disappointed here many times, but a friend chose to come here for birthday drinks. The seating is nice, the music good and reserving tables is no problem (when you visit you'll understand why). The food us ok, but that's where the good things end. Despite the menu saying to ask for allergens the woman who told me she didn't understand what dairy meant seemed offended I asked to speak to someone else, as I had allergies and she clearly did not understand when she asked if I wanted cheese on my burger. My request was ignored and she seemed put out that she was asked to check with the chefs about dairy in my meal choice when she proceeded to tell me there is no milk in a brioche bun. So if you have allergies, I'd say either don't bother or hope for another member of staff. The man who served is drinks as we arrived was friendly but it is hit and miss in this place with staff. Despite the hit and miss attitude and our table looking unclean when we sat down the service charge of more than 10% is put on your bill, and frankly I paid it just to expedite leaving the place. Before we went my friend and I went to the toilets and they were such a disgrace, the station toilets would have been better. I'd say if you're coming here it should be just because it's near by and easiest for drinks, but if you're coming to eat, there are many better places nearby in Marylebone, Edgware rd and along the canal.

Despite it being emblazoned on the door that they're open until 11:30, was turned away for a drink shortly after 10pm as they were closing. Staff weren't particularly pleasant about it either.

This is a nice setting for a lrger group with comfy seating areas and a nice ambience. However, this was badly let down by the terrible service and sub-standard food. Our waitress struggled with every order - thinking we wanted a jug of vodka when we wanted water, bringing pints of lager instead of shandy and, when asked for a cup of tea, bringing a mix of green and peppermint tea in the same cup. All the problems were sorted out but it was painful at times with us having to actually write down the order for two half a pints of shandy (and getting 2 pints of shandy). The burger and pizza meals were OK, but the duck stirfry was inedible, basically vermicilli with four strips of duck and about 5 chopped up chilies (and a slice of lemon?). I would have sent it back if I felt it would have made any difference. So, all in all, not to be repeated which is a shame as the setting was lovely.

Have been to Grand Union in Kennington several times and loved it.... but the Paddington restaurant was so disappointing. Food was really ordinary and service very poor. Asked 3 times for sauce and after 10 minutes it finally arrived ... Wasn't even busy but no focus on the customer.

We visited here on a Saturday evening. Despite there being two staff at the bar it took an age to get served, one member of staff was serving a large group in front of me, the other was avoiding eye contact and making drinks for the restaurant. By the time I'd got served, there was quite a queue behind me.A couple of the beers weren't on, and I wasn't overly impressed with the choice left, or the price, which was expensive for what was a bit of a dingy bar with poor service.Not great.

I've been coming for the venue for about year now since I work at Hilton London Metropole and this place has been always my colleagues and mine meeting point for a booze before we go home.But my yesterday visit was a disaster and that made me to think twice going there.my story in short.. after long waiting at bar, I was served by this guy at the bar( bit chubby, looks Spanish) anyway after I got my drinks I got a bill for £45. not a big deal but in my calculation it should be around £32-£35. Paid by card and when Barman give me my card back, I ask for a receipt.. I was shock from his response. "what do you need a receipt, what do you going do with that?", then I reply, because I'm paying for it.and he repeated the same and laugh at me with other people who was waiting for drinks and told me don't waste his time! Well I was embarrassed in front of my friends and then he kind of throw both customer copy and merchant copy of my credit card payment to my hand.. But I didn't get any receipt. I was really embarrassed and upset about what happened and I scened there was something wrong.I went back again and I met this guy called Chris( as I remember) I reckon he is the manager and he helped me last time to arrange one of my staff's leaving drinks! anyway I explained to him. and asked me to tell the price for my drinks! I was shocked! Bill was only £32 only and He apologised..and returned my money which was charged extra and He was kind offer me a drink, but I had to refuse even I was robbed by a small amount just imagine how many people get robbed like that! That guy ruined my whole evening and we just had those overcharged drinks and left..I've been coming to this bar since this is the closest place to my work place and it such a nice atmosphere! but my last evening experience changed everything and I told my staff if they are going to this bar, to check their bills! I will definitely think twice if I have to go there again!

The beer is very overly priced, even considering that you're in London. The bar staff love themselves and have no interest in the customers at all.

I went to this bar on a lazy Sunday afternoon for a chat with a friend. We found what we were looking for: nice background music, good selection of drinks and mainly: super friendly staff. Both the waiter and the guy who made the cocktails (I think he was from Hungary) were professional and made us feel good and wanting to come back. So I totally disagree with the previous comment about the staff!!! I hope this comment gets to the manager too not just the negative ones.

Went in for lunch with 2 friends, I had the Union Burger and asked for sweet potato fries and it was really good! I didn't really expect the burger to be that tasty but it was great. My friends had the vegetable stack and a 7" pizza which they both said were lovely. The staff were really friendly and chatty and the prices weren't too bad.

A good place to get off the beaten track for a one to one. No TVs (hallalujah), good service, decent menu range and pizzas are good value. Nothing to complain about but nothing to do back flips for.

My wife and I ate here one evening during our stay in London. The burgers were huge and at a very reasonable price. The only down was the price of a beer, very expensive.

Ignoring the fact that the choice of beers is probably the poorest on offer in London, and those they do sell are twice the price of anywhere in London, by far the saddest issue here is the slowest service, from dour staff. They are incapable of working out who has been at the bar the longest, they cannot take orders for more than one drink at a time without the order being error ridden, courtesy seems to be something that they leave in their lockers when they start work and any form of customer service is completely non-existent. To be fair, I can't even be bothered writing much more as I will never be going back!

Got my leaving drinks with friends from work and had a great time. Good DJ, nice vibe, friendly service at the bar however very long wait at peak time. Quite few staff working there but cocktails are slowing them very much down. Got to the point were ordering 2 drinks at once not to spend most of the night in the queue.Drinks bit expensive but not too much to complain in that respect. Central London markups I guess.

Me and a few friends were visiting from Sweden and staying at a hotel nearby, wandering around the area looking for a bar to hang out in before going out properly. Stumbled upon the Grand Union and found exactly what we were looking for! Food was great and the bar staff were really friendly!

Me and my friends were in the Grand Union Bar last Friday night. It is amazing place with full of life. The bar was busy and the bartender who called Gabriel was so kind and helpful with us. He has a good sense of humour. He served us quickly and made beautiful and delecious coctails for us. Gabriel is a great person and we are happy to met with him. And we realize after a couple of round he is Hungarian :D Next time we will also go there because of the mood of this place. We like it!

Was my first time in Friday night with my friends and was actually good :) The Hungarian guy (name Gabriel) was so friendly and he did a couple of good jokes! We enjoy the time and we will come Back!

I have been to the Grand Union at least 20 times in the last few months as it is situated 1 minutes walk from work. Every time I go I either have excellent service or terrible service. In fairness to them The service is more often better than it is bad. The food is often nice, you have to make sure you clearly state to the staff if you have any preferences and make sure you get them to repeat them and write it down. On 3 occasions I have had to return food because it was not what I had requested. The best time to go is a Thursday night, where they have a great music by DJ Stace (I believe his name is) and you can order food and get 2 cocktails for £10.

Tony behind the bar was an absolute legend. Big group went for drinks after our Christmas party and it was great. Varied menu and really friendly staff :)

Perfect place for a little after work drink. Nice location on the Paddington basin. The bar manager is a hero. 2 cocktails for £10. X

Had our work Christmas party here and loved everything about it we had an area called the penthouse which was perfect for the size of our group. Very quirky decor and a fun place to go. Food portions were good and the cocktails flowed as its happy hour until 8pm. The service from the moment we arrived was superb. Our waitress was great and the manager Lee couldn't have been more hospitable. We will certainly be returning!!

Been here a couple of times for burgers and bubbles. Great tasting burger meal and free flowing prosecco. All the staff friendly and willing to help.Cocktails 2-4-1 until 8 they used to be a lot better the menu has changed which is a shame.Certainly worth a visit if in the area

No gin, no grapefruit juice, dirty glass, food poor, table not cleared. Then charges £5 service charge poor customer service

The advantages of this bar is that it is located a short 10min walk from Edgware Road tube station and the decor seems pleasant. However, I feel that the service although it is relatively quick for the most part, I feel that some of the staff do not seem genuinely interested in the job and it can feel like a while before you are served.As for the drinks, they don't have the most inspiring range and it can be pricey as well. Costing £5.10 for a cider. That being said, the atmosphere is tranquil and there are plenty of places to set.

Food ok, atmosphere ok. However, even with an 11 year old in tow, they didn't seem to be family friendly. Especially as the place was practically empty. Shame.

This place is located at the end of Paddington Basin and offers comfort and style with its leather sofas and gilt-edged pictures and mirrors. If you prefer not sitting inside there’s a nice sun trap overlooking the canal. The variety of drinks was ok and were typically London priced.

Booth was reserved the day before but when we arrived (party of 6) nobody in the place knew anything about it so we were pointed to a table up the back of this bizarrely decorated bar. For a Friday night in the middle of London - it was very poor that this place didn't have any of the mainline draught beers available, not to mention half the food menu so asking for drinks and then food became a total lottery! The waitresses seemed disinterested in both us as customers and in the job itself so fostering an unpleasant atmosphere from the offset. The food: Standard burger fare for £10 each (same price inside the menu anyway despite the advertised 'deals' promoting this £10 price as a special offer) Overall a disappointing experience and there are other modest pubs in the same area who are doing a far better job offering less perceived glitz and glamour.

I find it sad that people have only averaged this a 3 star, im am in the middle of my meal and already rushing to rate this place 5 stars, besides the amazing food (bar the onion rings :p) and the incredibly priced drinks, (£5 a cocktail 12-8pm; OVER 40 DIFFERENT CHOICES!) what truly makes this place a gold star is the service.. Kind, polite, and more than anything great senses of humour, the bar man whips up a drink as well as he splashes out a joke (jim) and the man of the evening a one MARK WHITMORE (take a bow) made this the most incredible, fun and comforting experience, im leaving today asking mark to come to next months bbq at mine he made me feel that happy. Thank you grand union, took a while to find you but will be a lifetime to forget!!!

I was attracted on the website by the promise of £5 cocktails during happy hour. But at the bar the cocktail menu was hard to find (they are inside scruffy hardback book covers that bear no relation to the menu inside), the descriptions of the cocktails are lacking and then when I ordered all the spirits were slowly measured rather than free-poured which is more common with cocktails. The cocktail itself was okay for £5, but the overall experience at the bar didn't feel great.

Good menu and ales with recommendations from the bar staff. All prepared well and made for a great afternoon in the sun watching the Innocent big screen. Tip though:- avoid the "table" service and go straight to the bar to avoid the service charge which is pretty hefty. It is supposed to be a pub after all.

Ótimo custo benefício. Serve o maravilhoso chopp Guiness , entrada petiscos variados e bem servidos, comemos uma entrada mexicana de tacos e guacamole muito bom... Outro dia provamos os hambúrgueres e costelinhas barbeie... Super recomendados!

The general manager is a very nasty lady, she feels superior to everyone and everything within one mile radius of the bar because as she stated:,, she owns the place and can do and say whatever she likes'' this results in place closing 2 hours before the closing time, you paying full price for the drink eventhough you've been waiting at the bar to order at least 15 minutes before the happy hour expired...kitchen closes and opens spontaniously so you never know whether you can order meal or not. It is a shame because it would be such a nice place otherwise..

Lets start off with the good bits, its a really nice spot, Paddington basin, right at the start of the canal, not too, far from Edgware road, not hard to find, well, not too hard. The décor is quite nice, all the tables have apparently been bought separately, same as the chairs. It gives the place the feel of an old establishment, which is quite nice.Now the bits that are not so good. The problem you have with these types of pubs/bars is they charge top prices without providing top quality foods or large portions. We ordered a burger each, costing ten pounds a piece, this comes with a side of fries and a small pot of coleslaw. The burger, a double decker, was despite the extra tier not that big. £10 for the meal is probably £3/4 overpriced. It was properly cooked, though the meat could have done with a little seasoning. We also bought a basket of wings, again coming with fries, which cost £14, overpriced and nothing special. Maybe ten wings. So far, without drinks we have spent £34. Now, if was the price we paid, I would have been VERY disappointed. But, that isn't quite what happened, the next part is for those who have a taste card.The taste card agreement allows you to have 50% off the WHOLE food bill, however; the staff either were not aware of it, or did not want to give it. Eventually after some negotiation, with our waiter, his line manager, then her manager, we got the appropriate discount.All in all, though the place itself is nice, the food is average and the service a little slow. But really though, the price here is the biggest problem. Meat liquor, for example, does the same thing, in bigger quantities, with better quality, for the same money.

I used to visit this restaurant often, in my opinion it is going down hill rapidly, since it opened the menu has deteriorated for my tastes, the decor and seating is tired the service is poor and in some cases now unprofessional, the room is drafty but the price has gone up exponentially for the quality of everything mentioned above it is overpriced. This used to be such a good establishment and i am sure with a revamp it will be again. On the positive it has a huge screen for TV and it is very handy to Paddington station as a meeting place.I think I would summarise as disappointing rather that critical

The atmosphere was lacking as soon as we walked in. Very quiet the the restaurant but loud in the bar which you hear.The food was beautifully presented and very tasty although the service was less than welcoming and slow. No check back on our food?! Does London not do this?Overall nice. Better places to go so won't be back.
