¡La carne estaba empapada y rancia y húmeda y muy rara! ¡Fue mi peor experiencia! Tiene un sabor a limón empapado y goma. Había moho en mi comida. Absolutamente asqueroso. Estaba buscando una comida para mis vacaciones en Londres y estaba puramente disgustado.

¡NUNCA VAS AQUÍ! ! ! ! Este lugar tiene la audacia de llamarse un asador! ¡Son más como una casa del infierno! ! Mi filete era CRUDO y pedí bien hecho. La de mi amigo estaba quemada y realmente muy delgada. Las patatas fritas eran asquerosas. Estaban empapados y sosos. Y nuestra comida estaba fría. Estoy muy decepcionado con esto. Casi vomito. Teniendo en cuenta que nunca he estado en un llamado "asador" antes, esto no causa una buena impresión. CIERTAMENTE NO SE REGRESARÁ A ESTE LUGAR HORRÍFICO

Así que, volvemos de nuevo. Caminar en el lugar numero con una sonrisa de Londres en mi cara. Como recojo el ritmo y terminar la carrera a mi mesa, adios Dorothy que bruja vieja. La cena era más pequeña que la economía de Afganistán. También parecía demasiado, barro y carne no un murmullo de condimento en la comida. Más dura que la carne era de colegas en el east - final, buena bendiga em. West wheeeeeeeeeeeeeey jamón.

No había ambiente y nos recibieron con '¿Han venido señoras a almorzar? 'Ni siquiera una' buenas tardes '. Para colmo de males, fui acompañado por mi esposo, que claramente es un hombre. Lamentablemente, parecía no haber sido afectado por el fiasco completo. Cuando sacaron el bistec lo redujeron a un silencio casi absoluto y para ser honestos, fue bastante delicioso y Peter se ve femenino a veces.

Av en helt outgrundlig anledning valde vi att kliva in på restaurangen och ännu värre, strax därefter beställa mat!Det skulle vi inte ha gjort!Nackdelar medScotch steak house:1. Oengagerad personal.2. Tog väldigt lång tid att få den beställda maten.3. Smutsigt och fläckigt bord. 4. Vi fick bestick ca 5 minuter EFTER att vi fått maten.5. Besticken var inte grillbestick. Kniven var ungefär lika vass som en smörkniv.6. Maten smakade i princip ingenting. Det enda som skiljde köttet från grönsakerna var konsistensen och svaga skillnader i färg.7. Locale a pochi passi dalla fermata della metro di Bayswater. Nulla di particolarmente speciale. Disponibile buffet con contorni, verdure e qualche primo o secondo in base dell'offerta del giorno e carne a volontà (passano i camerieri tra i tavoli con diversi tipi di carne). Il buffet non offre molta scelta e la carne non è di alta qualità, ma comunque nel complesso personalmente non ho pranzato male. L'amica con cui ho pranzato, invece, era incinta e all'ingresso ha subito chiesto se fosse possibile ricevere della carne ben cotta; le è stato detto di sì ma poi ad ogni portata ha dovuto continuamente chiedere che venisse di nuovo portata a cuocere meglio, ed il cameriere sembrava ogni volta sempre più scocciato. Ideale per chi non ha molte pretese. Il prezzo rimane comunque troppo alto comparato a ciò che vien offerto, ed è prevalentemente per questo che non tornerei.

Me hubiera gustado haber leído comentarios Tripadvisor antes de comer aquí. El solomillo era la más drástica panecillo pieza de carne he intentado para comer. Dudo seriamente que era incluso solomillo. La salsa de pimienta sabe como callos paquete con salsa de pimienta verde añadido. La única cosa que comestible era la guarnición.

fuimos a este sitio por eliminacion, ya que alrededor estaba todo llenono soy amigo de este tipo de restaurantes por que ya se lo que es, y no me equivoque, pedi unas costillas,(supuestamente un full rack) pero eran cuatro, con una salsa muy floja por encima, una ensalada sin aliñar y cuatro patatas, eso y una cerveza de lata, casi 20 libras, para mi un roboEl sitio no es nada del otro mundo, y teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de sitios para comer que hay por alrededor incluyendo MsDonalds, tendria que estar loco par volver, una lastima!!

I have to say that what I ordered was delicious. It was the RibEye Steak dinner. Came with salad, side. Doorman who sits you did not keep his post, did not keep eye on his workers to make sure they take care of tables. The credit card machine was not working that day and they failed to tell people as they stood at the door. I had cash so it was not a problem. My server was SLOW and when came time for check - I sat there waiting as there were no servers or door man to be found. Main floor was very small setting. I had a table at the window and watched people walking by. That was entertaining ! There were stairs going downstairs level - do not know what that was. Did not use the bathroom so can't tell if it was clean or not. Yes, I would go back - the food was very tasty and satisfying.

We though about this not being a very good idea.And we were right.The food is overpriced. Well overpriced, and when the food is low quality as well it is just to warn you: Do not eat here, there are a lot of better choices!

Went here as my son wanted somewhere close tour hotel- wish we hadn't.He ordered chicken wings which came on a big plate swamped with lettuce to hide the 4 tiny things called wings.thank god he is not fussy.His main course was chicken poison, sorry pouisson which on eating second was bloody.I mentioned this to Chinese waiter who then tried to say it was "because near bone"- a fantastic excuse. He took it away, with no apology and around 10 minutes later another one arrived. This time no blood, but again still swamped with lettuce and again no apology.He ate it he was starving and has a cast iron stomach.I took the £18.60 menu and had crab and tuna salad- I think and a steak to follow- again I think.It appeared tobe cooked in a casserole or microwave not a grill or pan.I suppose it was edible, but sad excuse for scotch steak or as a Scottish person would say prime.I have never written anything before to criticise an eating establishment, but this place is a disgrace and should feature as a " kitchen nightmare".Oh and the staff- I would be better getting the wee guy on the corner to serve my food as he would know more about customer service as they certainly don't.Under normal circumstances I would have refused to pay the bill for this crap, but my son didn't want a scene,but I would say similar to other reviews it should be closed down by health and safety as "unfit for Purpose".Another thing is why is steak in kid on fridge at door?

Nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce restaurant (si on peut appeler ça comme ça!) un soir pour le souper.Le jus d'ananas devait faire 1dl tellement il y avait de glaçons dans le verre et lorsque mon ami a demandé un verre d'eau, la serveuse lui a apporter une bouteille de Volvic en pet d'1,5L a température ambiante voir même plus!Nous avons dû payer un supplément pour avoir des frites avec notre steak et la sauce stroganoff que nous avons dû commandée à côté ne ressemblait à rien du tout (fond brun en poudre trop dilué et oignons). Ma salade n'avait même pas de sauce.Le pire de tout cela est que lorsque nous avons voulu payer avec la carte (il est écrit sur la carte de l'extérieur que la majorité des cartes sont acceptées) le serveur m'a dit que c'était impossible. Déjà que la facture s'élevait à 52£ ce que l'on a trouvé énorme étant donné que le midi nous avions mangé pour 30£ en plein centre ville (boissons, plats et desserts). J'ai donc dû courir au distributeur du coin chercher du liquide (ce que ma banque ne manquera pas de me facturer) afin que l'on puisse s'acquitter de cette dette. Sans compter que le service est exécrable et que le restaurant est glauque au possible!Sûrement le pire repas de notre vie qui nous laisse un goût très amer et une mauvaise dernière impression de Londres étant donné que nous quittons la ville demain (et sans regret après cette mésaventure!!)

Locale situato in una strada la queensway (vicino la fermata bayswater) strada piena di ristoranti e fast food. Il locale è ampio non bellissimo un pò anni 70, con mouquette sul pavimento. La sensazione è quella di non essere un posto particolarmente pulito. Per il mangiare mi aspettavo meglio. Abbiamo preso pollo con patatine ed insalata con cipolle (molto pesante) ed hamburger con patatina e medesima insalata. La carne dell'hamberger non era ottima, mentre il pollo anche se gustoso era non molto morbido. Le patatine cucinate bene, mi sono rimaste leggere, sintomo che l'olio per friggere non era stato utilizzato moltissime volte. Bottiglia di acqua liscia. Il conto un pò eccessivo 35 pound circa 45 euro.Forse c'è di meglio nelle vicinanze

locale pessimo.Essendosi accorti che eravamo italiani (abbiamo chiaramente sentito che lo dicevano sottovoce) ci hanno portato un piatto risibile, con una fettina di bistacca che era meno della meta' di quelle dei tavoli vicini. Tralascinado la qualita' solo mediocre della carne, ci hanno poi presentato un conto palesemente gonfiato, aumentando in maniera deliquenziale di 15 sterline il prezzo atteso.Giudizio finale: evitatelo assolutamente

I live in London and my Mum and Dad came to see me for the weekend. We were very hungry and they didn't want to travel due to walking a lot during the day. We went to the only restaurant without a queue, this should have been a clue. The prices on the board outside are a lie. The cocktails are ice with a plastic stripey staw (you know which ones I mean) in a wine glass. The place was full of tourists who didn't know how to say, where is the exit. The food was unedible. They bring you bread, it's not free, they charge you £8 at the end which is then told is a tax. I would like to tell them where they can put their tax. The bill is unreadable and wrong if you add it up. We did not pay the final bill as we were making a scene. We had chicken which I don't think was even chicken, some lettuce and tomatoes each, the kind you would get at a takeaway when you are very drunk. That cost over £70 for 4 people. I had food poisoning. I was sick, a lot. Thanks for that. I am so angry about the whole thing that I have written my first review. If this place doesn't close down and stop making people think that London food is like this then it is appalling. I am ashamed that I even went in and paid a penny.

Walking through London at night, starving- imagine our relief when we find a restaurant that's still open. On walking in, everything looked a bit depressing, from the dated decor to the staff's fraying uniforms. Only 2 waiters, not really a problem as the restaurant only ever had 3 tables occupied at the most. They seemed nice enough as we came in and settled down and ordered. We were 4 people- we ordered 2 duck a l'orange, lamb cutlets and a lamb shank, with 3 cokes and a juice but to begin with, my dad asked for some bread and butter. We got some lightly toasted burger buns that broke apart as we tried to spread butter on them. First off, the juice is extortionate at £4.50 a glass, and glasses were handled by the rim, not the stem- yuck! Next, the duck a l'orange had a spoonful of orange sauce and a ladle of red wine sauce- what?! When I told the waitress, the response was hard to make out but it was along the lines of 'it's supposed to be like that'. And the duck was rubbery and awful. The lamb shank had a foul-tasting sauce sloshed onto a supermarket mixed veg bag. The cutlets were dry and tasteless. All the dishes were served with cut round potatoes, fried from frozen; green beans, and a pile of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion. Shortly in, I found a hair in my food; they replaced my duck, and with the right sauce, hooray. We ate, but only because we were starving. Then the bill came with a whole new debacle. They charged a cover charge- for what? The table was bare, besides dirty cutlery and place mats, with no gratuities that a cover charge should cover. Thankfully no service charge, but we wouldn't've paid that anyway. We contested the cover charge, which caused the waitress to storm off in a huff, and serve other customers until we called her to our table again. Finally we got the cover charge taken away, but the next obstacle arose- their card machine was 'broken'. Halfway through the meal (far too late!) I checked out the other tripadvisor reviews, and found others dating back to July 2013 saying that the card machine was 'broken', so they've known this for a while. No mention of it at the door, of course. I mentioned this, obviously no reply from the waiter. We finally convinced them to bring the card machine, and - surprise! It worked! So if you come here at all, don't feel pressured to walk to the nearest ATM as they suggest. Yuck yuck yuck! I don't recommend this place at all, stay away! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My brother reckons the restaurant is a front for a secret mafia ring...

Vi ble plassert i en lite trivelig kjeller. Kelneren virket veldig uerfaren og uengasjert. Måtte bl.a. spørre om vi kunne få vinglass.Vannet kom i en plastflaske og bare satt på bordet. Vi fikk ikke det vi hadde bestilt og i tillegg klarte de å legge på prisen på en dårlig håndskrevet regning. Da vi ba om betale med kort fikk vi beskjed om at kortautomaten desverre var ute drift og at siden det var lørdag kunne de ikke få reparert den før mandag. Det samme hadde visstnok skjedd den 3 april så man kan jo lure. Dårlig og dyrt

Like others we were walking the street at night, and was seriously hungry. Sadly I had a work phone with me, so no data access. I've been kicking myself ever since for not tripadvisoring the place first ever since.The place has the atmosphere of a converted chinese restaurant, which is fair enough. However the selection is limited (onlu two types of sauce - mushroom or pepper - and by taste it was the same, just with mushrooms or peppers added just before serving) The steak was not good, (luckily my primary T-bone was sold out - saved me a few quid) not tender and with really tough tendons interspersed. Had chewing-gum feeling (though I will take some blame as I had ordered medium well done) The steak came simply with lettuce, onion, and some cucumber- and tomato slices. Chips, sauce - everything was extra. Also added onion rings - BAD mistake! Those came directly from a frozen packet, and had probably just gotten a quick warming on a frying pan - if those had been nywhere near a deep-frier before we got them, you can call me Meyer!The staff was efficient in getting us seated and taking our order, but when they delivered they had left out a few items.All in all I'm not going back (and from the reviews here, they do not appear to aim for repeat customers :) ) and would recommend anyone thinking about entering to move along. Also the proices were optimistic for the quality of food. I do not mind paying for good food - but this was expensive and poor. Great potential for improvement.

Ein einziger Reinfall, auf keinen Fall dieses Local besuchen. Wir waren am ersten Abend dort ( 15.4.14 ) und wollten nicht mehr so weit laufen ( wir waren im Best Western ). Leider hatten wir schon bestellt und Getränke bekommen, als wir am Nebentisch mitbekommen haben, dass die Hähnchen nicht durch gegart war. Die Wings, die dort auf dem Teller waren konnte man fast nicht sehen ,es waren nur 2 Stk. Die Familie hat dort alles stehen und liegen gelassen und ist gegangen. Wir haben darauf hin die Bedienungen etwas beobachtet und mussen erkennen, dass die Sauberkeit eine Katastophe war. Das Besteck, Gabel und Messer wurden "am Falschen Ende angfasst und aufgelegt". Wir hatten ein Steak "Englisch" bestellt, aber was hier geliefert wurde ist eine Frechheit. Vom Preis mal ganz abgesehen. Unfreundliches Personal und ein grauenhaftes Essen. Der krönende Abschluss ware dann jedoch, dass wir in Chash bezahlen mussten, obwohl auf der Speisekarte dick und fett stand, dass alle Karten aktzeptiert werden. Aussage... die Kasse / Lesegerät ist heute ausgefallen. In der Nähe gibt es doch genügende Automaten wo man Bargeld ziehen kann. Geht lieber ein paar meter die Baywater Road runter nach Notting Hill, direkt auf der Hauptstrasse ist das TexMex, das kann man nur empfehlen.

Det ligner et sted med gode bøffer. Bøfferne er sådan set også ok men meget dyre. Tilbehøret er dog nærmest en fornærmelse den høje pris taget i betragtning. Industripomme frites og lidt snittet salat og agurk - ingen sovs ingen dressing. Da vi efterlyste det fik vi en flaske ketchup og en flaske majonæse ind på bordet. Da vi skulle betale, ville de kun tage imod kontanter, så jeg måtte ned ad gaden og stå og bakse med en hæveautomat. Vi endte med at betale 90 P for 2 voksne og et barn - det var dyrt og dårligt.

Took my Nephew here at the weekend, we both had steaks, but my Nephews was way overcooked. Mine however was perfect, but for £21 with ONLY a side sald it should be - A side of a few chips was £3.40 - I know we are in London, but this was NOT worth this much money. They need to give better portions or drop the price on the sides :/The staff were helpful and friendly, which takes a bit of the sting away, but not enough in my opinion.I doubt i will return :(

First time visitor in London. We had a hard time finding a steak resturant, after a long day in sightseeing..at least we found this one, who looked great from the outside,When we came in we notised a smell of chinese grill, the funiture was worn down and the menucard was kinda greasy. But we were hungry so we ordered a steak from a impatient and rude waitress, who couldn't explain details in the menu.We should left when we where served old and dry bread, but the main dish was the worst i'm tasted in a resturant or maybe ever (and i have served in the army), i ate the center of my chewy steak.We left 40 £ porer and headed for the nearest convenience store to subside the worst hunger.Please AVOID!!

We had really fancied a steak, it was getting late, the restaurant seemed quite full, and the menu outside seemed reasonably priced. Once we were seated, we realised the whole place was like some ghastly throwback to the seventies, with dated, tatty surroundings and equally dated food, judging by the watery iceberg lettuce being prodded around the plates of the bemused French family on the table next to ours. When we got the menu, the prices were eye-wateringly exhorbitant. From memory, the cheapest steak was about £17, but this didn't include anything other than a salad garnish, and side dishes were £4 each! There was no sign of the steak with mushrooms and chips for £12 that we'd seen on the menu outside. We should have made our excuses and left at this point, but I couldn't be bothered to gather up coats, bags etc, face the potential embarrassment of explaining to the waiter that we'd changed our minds, then have to traipse around to find somewhere else. Never mind if it's a bit pricy, it'll be nice to have a big juicy steak, it's our last night, so we'll push the boat out, I thought. How wrong I was!We settled for one of the specials, steak in a wine sauce, which at least included chips or sautéed potatoes and a bizarre choice between cauliflower or green beans as the veg. This was about £18 each. What arrived was a piece of thin grey meat in a watery nondescript sauce, with some limp sautéed potatoes and frozen green beans, together with the iceberg lettuce salad garnish. The watery sauce plus the water from the lettuce made a pool on the plate. I'd ordered medium rare, my partner rare, but there was no difference to be seen between our "steaks" the thin bits of meat were both same grey throughout. To be fair, it actually tasted just about ok, but only if you'd paid a fiver for it - there's no way it was worth the money we paid. The only saving grace was our bottle of Merlot, not too expensive at £16 and actually very pleasant. Having gulped down a fair bit of wine before the meal arrived, we then got a fit of alcohol-induced hysterical giggles when we saw what some poor woman on the next table was presented with, having presumably ordered the stroganoff - not so funny for her I dare say! It looked like a few lumps of gristle surrounded by vast amounts of peas and some dodgy-looking rice. By this time we'd decided to see the funny side of being ripped off, rather than letting it sour our last night. Our two mains and the wine came to £56 - and we were both still hungry when we left, but there was no way we were going to sample the dubious delights of the dessert trolley!I feel so sorry for the foreign tourists who seemed to be the main target of this terrible blot on London's culinary landscape. We were stupid enough to be lured in too, by the promise of prime Scottish 21-day matured steaks but should have known better than to stay. Please don't waste your money - go to the Swan near Lancaster Gate tube station for a pleasant bar meal at half the price, in lovely surroundings. We went here for a nightcap afterwards and saw that we could have had rump steak with all the trimmings for £14.95!

I wouldn't eat here again if you gave me a free meal and £100. It was awful...the worst meal I have ever had. Myself and a friend ordered the prawn and avocado starter. It had about 12 prawns and 3 small slices of avocado. The plate was full of salad....mostly lettuce and onion. Our main course was beef stroganoff...what a joke that was! Tiny pieces of tough beef which was mostly unchewable, on rice, with an apology of a sauce, copious amounts of peas and "garnished" with around 10 slices of cucumber and same of tomato.When we challenged the manager about this he stated the beef was a 6oz sirloin steak (never in this world) and they never had any complaints about their food!!!! Obviously does not eat there or look on Tripadvisor.The other 2 members of our party had similarly awful food.We were told not to pay the £5.20 cover charge but had to pay the rest. The manager was aggressive and rude. The following evening we ate at a Chinese restaurant across the road.....TOA KITCHEN. It was superb. I had beautifully cooked, tender, Fillet steak cantonese style, at least 8oz of it. My friends and Hubby also had beautiful food and the cost was the same as the rip off steak place. Scottish people would be insulted to find it claims the meat comes from their country.I intend to contact trading standards about this awful place and write to their head office.

took my wife and a work friend out for dinner,now I work in London and had seen this restaurant and thought ill save that for when my wifes with me----oh how I regret that decision now.terrible experience with wait staff who don't care,starters were awful pate,chicken wings with were covered in white pepper and greasy fatty ribs( no finger bowls or extra napkins)me and wife order steak and mixed grill friend order butterfly chickensteak was awful and was left,mixed grill was a disgrace for any establishment to serve and butterfly chicken was diced not butterfly-disgrace,no extra cutlery,coke flat served in wine glass,flat draught beer.then went to pay with card,told only cash although we were not told that and there was no sign,honestly felt like leaving without paying but I just couldn't.we will never be back its the fist time ive went into a scotch place and all the staff were Chinese(that should have been my clue to leave) they were just totally disinterested

We liked the look of this menu so thought we'd give it a go.....what a big mistake that was! I ordered a coke and a glass of Pinot but was told you can only get the house wine by glass, this wine was awful! My coke came out of a 2 litre bottle and was completely flat. My partner had a pint of lager which also was completely flat! At this point we were tempted to leave but were just too hungry. I ordered a fillet steak and my partner ordered a t bone steak. We had to order chips for an extra £4 each and a portion of veg for £5 each!!!!! For 2 meals and a drink each our bill came to £75! The food was awful. The steaks were meant to be medium rare but were completely dry and chewy and very thin. It was by far the worst experience we have had at a restaurant. At the end we wanted to pay by card but was told the machine was broken so we would have to walk to a cash point??? Do not risk it...... It's absolutely rubbish!

After walking from Paddington to Bayswater, we were in the mood for some chinese but when I saw ( and i feel so guilty now...) the so called steak-house i really wanted to go in. My future to be boyfriend was easy and agreed. Looked nice from the outside, when we got in the smell wasn't so "friendly", the staff looked like eastern european comunists. We got the menu and I know that I have spent 10 min trying to find a good combination. My date went with the burger as he was convinced that the size of the meal is too big for him. I was hungry so I went with the stake...The food arrived. Looked pretty good, the stake had the taste of rubber boots ( not that i know how that tastes like ), few chips, mostly salad and onions. But the size? Oo man, first i had the impression that i ordered a junior menu. At the end we asked for the bill, you can't pay with a credit card ( in freakin Queensway? ) , they mixed up the bills between 3 tables, the prices on all the 3 bills were over 40 pounds...you could see people turning white while reading what exactly cost 40+ pounds. We had one steak, one burger and two pints = 45 pounds? Excuse me? The other table, two young german kids ( probably first date aswell ) 55 pounds for 2 steaks and two juices. My date asked the waitress if we got the right bill, she looked at him and walked away. I couldn't belive what i saw? She pretended she doesn't speak english and walked away :) Never again!!!

I am the partner of niklalala below but felt I also needed to pass comment as the experience at this 'restaurant' was so poor. People need to be advised against dining here at all costs.As stated below, we were enticed in by the offer of sirloin steak, french fries & mushrooms as well as lamb cutlets, french fries & mushrooms for £12.50 and £14.00 respectively. After a long day of walking, we had worked up an appetite and fancied something substantial, which steak/lamb cutlets and chips would usually constitute.The place looked quite appealing from the outside, the mirror against the one wall giving a deceptively large feel to it. This changed once we entered the premises and the flaws soon became apparent, dated decor, dirt on the floor, used dishes on public display. I figured I could look past that once the food that sounded so appetising appeared. Sadly not.When taking our orders I could barely understand what the abrupt waitress was saying, but I felt confident that we had been able to convey what we wanted. The drinks, a coke and an apple juice, arrived in wine glasses and then the food arrived. I had seen plates similar to the ones on which our food had been served earlier that day in the National History Museum ("NHM"), the only difference being that the plates at the NHM didn't have leftover stains on them.I would best describe my steak and chips as being a serving of salad...with a thin slice of steak, about as thick as a slice of ham from you local supermarket with a drizzling of chips, there were eight of them in total, I counted during my disbelief. The meal was already a write off at that stage, but at least I knew what it would be costing by virtue of the specials boards and I could live with that so I thought...The girlfriend was overjoyed five minutes into the meal when she was able to find a morsel of lamb in amongst the plate of salad and fat that stood before her. To add to the ambience, we were also treated to the terrible body odour of the youngest waitor as he and the abrupt lady alluded to earlier proceeded to walk up and down the aisle between tables as though they were prison guards on patrol.Asked if we wanted dessert once the ordeal of eating the main was over, we almost laughed, merely asking for the bill so we could pay and get out of there as soon as practicable.The bill arrived and I was astonished to see that it was in excess of £45. The steak, fries and mushroom that I had ordered having cost in excess of £18.00 with the eight chips in themselves having cost an additional £3.60. The girlfriends course of salad and fat set us back in excess of £20.00 with the chips she had being an additional £3.60.There was also a service charge of £2.60 added to the bill. I had to laugh else I would have burst into tears.Queried this with the head honcho, explaining the costs as detailed on the board outside, at which point he explained that this was for a 'small' portion, and we had the medium. If the portion we had was medium, I dread to think what the small would have been like, though I'm sure they'd have ensured we had plenty of outdated salad to accompany it nonetheless. As the board outside didn't state portion size and there was nothing on the menu as to a service charge, the lawyer in me wanted to pursue it, but the day had been that long and we were so angry/disappointed by the experience we just wanted to get out of there. Suffice it to say, no additional tip was left.I am not one for advocating that small businesses should be closed down, but when the small business is effectively engaging in extortion as the proprietors of the Scotch Steak House clearly are, I feel that something must be done about it and I will be pursuing this further whether it is to any avail or not.I only hope that people have their phone/tablet to hand when they are debating whether to enter this establishment so the words of myself and so many others are able to dissuade them ensuring that they do not experience the same ordeal that we all have.

We noticed this restaurant and have to say it looked quite promising from the outside,the notice board of special offers looked appealing with lamb cutlets and chips for £13 and steak and chips at £14. We went it and were welcomed warmly,until we were sat down..where I noticed dirty flooring, and used plates were dumped under a counter in direct view. The waitress was rude,and to be quite honest we couldn't understand a word she was saying as she was so rushed despite the place being almost empty. We ordered the specials we noticed outside. Our food arrived,and I was disgusted. The meat had lumps of fat on. The salad was dumped on the plate and looked old. The plate, had stains on it that were not from my meal. I was so disappointed,but even more so when we were told that the chips which were supposed to be a side were at an extra cost of £4 per person. When my partner contested the extra charges he was laughed at and told the specials advertised were small,yet there was no mention of this on the board. Avoid at all costs.

This restaurant looked really good from the outside so my husband and I decided we would eat here as we where in the mood for a good steak, oh how wrong we where. The lady that served us an older Asian lady was not the most welcoming person I have ever met, we ordered our drinks which where very over priced even by London standard. We ordered our food I ordered the sirloin steak with chips and salad, only after we ordered did the lady then mention that chips where an extra charge. really???? So I changed it to the potato's which came with the steak. When the food arrived my steak was pale thin and fatty, the salad was mostly shredded lettuce old cucumber and tomato and the potato's where sliced round so I wondered why one would have to pay extra for chips if the potato's that are inclusive come sliced as chips anyway... The food was below average the service was poor and the meal was very very over priced, they also only take cash which would be handy if they had signs to tell you this before you order your food, My suggestion keep walking and get something elsewhere.

I foolishly read the reviews after ordering, thankfully it was ok. If you want the prices on the specials board outside mention this when ordering, they honoured the £14.60 fillet for me. Steak was not terrible but not great by any means, salad was fresh apart from the cucumber, the chips were good.I was told after ordering that it was cash only, not really a problem but could be to some.My pint of lager was expensive, think they made up the price difference by over charging for my drink, sadly there was no price listed so I couldn't challenge it. The trick would be to confirm the prices up front before ordering.I won't be returning, partially because of the food and partially because of the harp versions of popular classics being piped into the dining area, amusing but also awful.If you're sitting there reading this having ordered, don't despair, but if you're thinking about visiting I'd give it a miss.

This place is disgusting and I wonder how it's still open for business. The service was terrible and the food was horrendous. Not fit even for animals! We were 4 eating and quite hungry and opted to go to the steak house as we would probably eat well. How wrong were we. My son asked for his steak medium-rare and when it finally arrived it was stone cold and had lots of yellow fat all over. I opted for the beef stroganoff only to find I had been given all the gristle and cut offs. I could go on about the other dishes but I think you have the gist of it! The 'fizzy' drinks were completely flat and the fact we wanted to get out of there we asked and paid for the bill which was an extortionate amount! I now realise we shouldn't have paid but we were totally horrified with the place. I also overheard to the table next to us that it was cash only, luckily we had cash on us but what place doesn't have card service?!!!!This place needs heath and safety officers to pay it a visit!

A sopa estava boa, mas o steak estava sem tempero, perguntaram se queríamos com chips mas não avisaram que seria cobrado a mais, apesar das fotos mostrarem os pratos com chips, o que engana. Mas o pior de tudo foi a indelicadeza na hora de pagar, uma garçonete me viu ir ao caixa com um cartão de crédito nas mãos e me abordou dizendo que era somente em dinheiro. No menu exibido na porta do restaurante diIa que aceitavam a maioria dos cartões, mas esqueceram de os avisar que estava temporariamente indisponível. Isso nos causou um transtorno, já que tivemos que sacar dinheiro, pagar uma taxa a mais. Não recomendo mesmo.

La bisteccheria scozzese è un locale gestito da asiatici, con musica italiana in sottofondo cantata da americani (Dean Martin per citarne uno). Ci accoglie una signora molto fredda, che come ci sediamo diventa decisamente scortese. Per due pezzi di carne cotti al sangue ci hanno fatto aspettare oltre 20 minuti dopo che la cameriera ci aveva messo fretta per ordinare. Il contorno della bistecca (una patata al cartoccio) l'abbiamo dovuto pagare a parte. La bistecca (una suola di scarpe) era coperta di rughetta al limone e cipolla cruda, per cui sapeva di limone e cipolla.Il conto? un salasso. Mai mai mai più. Nemmeno legata mani e piedi.Dimenticavo di dire che l'arredo ricorda i bordelli dei film anni '70: divanetti rossi, specchi dappertutto e lampadari orribili con lampadine fulminate.

Eating out in London, unless you know where to go and what type of food you want to eat can be very daunting, we stayed in a hotel just off Bayswater Road and during our evening stroll wanted to find something for a bite to eat. Walking down Queensway Road we were assaulted by the vast choice on offer. From Lebanese, Indian, Thai, Turkish, Italian, Good old fashioned Fish & Chips, Sushi, English and fast foods to name but a few. Looking at all the menus left us bewildered and not really knowing what each dish was decided that, as it was getting late by our standards we should just choose and we found ourselves in this establishment, we chose it due to knowing what the food was and that it was busy, always a good sign, if it was busy then it must be good? Right! Let me tell you this is not always the case. We were shown to a table and presented with the menu, the choice was enough to allow you to quickly choose your food and we both opted for Oven Chicken with Bacon served with chips. After a short while the food was delivered and it looked like the chicken had fallen on the floor and stood on as it was so flat. Upon moving the bacon the chicken looked like it had been deep fried and not oven roasted. As we were hungry we eat our meal, the chips were nice though. Looking back we should have sent it back, but we didn’t. Asking for the bill we went to pay by credit card, only to be told there computer was not working and that they would only take cash, even pointing out that there was a cash machine across the road. Alarm bells should have been shouting at me and looking back it was not a pleasant affair and would not return in a hurry, next time I think we shall try to broaden our food tastes as we do when we eat anywhere else.

ja, wir hatten uns auf den letzten Abend gefreut und uns vorgenommen, genau dieses Restaurant als krönenden Abschluss zu besuchen. Es sieht von Außen angenehm aus und der Resaurantname vermittelt den Eindruck, dass die Betreiber Qualität verkaufen wollen. Die auf dem Aufsteller im Außenbereich aufgeführten Gerichte (Lockangebote als unvollständige Gerichte) fand man dann in der Karte zu anderen Preisen als vollständiges Essen wieder sodass man für ein normales Essen um die 16 Pfund hätte bezahlen müssen. Dann bieten die asiatischen Betreiber auch Menü für über 18 Pfund an. Nun gut, ob 16 oder 18 Pfund, das ist dann auch egal. Neben dem Bier (0,3l) für knapp 5 Pfund gab es dann ein Menü für die 18 Pfund, welches aus einer Vorspeise (geschnittener grüner Salat und eine fischig schmeckende mit kleingehäckselten Gräten versetzter Masse) und einem Hautgericht mit angedünsteten (Gargrad der Bohnen war auch unterschiedlich) und Bratkartoffeln mit einem Stückchen Fleisch. Die bestellte Lammlende war so groß wie ein Ei größe A, in drei Teilchen geschnitte, hatte neben Fettansatz auch noch der Lende nahes Fleisch mit dran. Auf meine Reklamation zu den kalten Bohnen, den kalten Kartoffeln und der schlechten Fleischqualität reagierten die Inhaber sehr ungehalten, legenten mir die Karte vor und verwiesen immer wieder darauf, dass es Lamm wäre. Dass das Essen kalt war, mochten die Leute erst nmicht verstehen, nahmen das Essen dann wieder mit und servierten die angeschnittenen Fleischstücken dann zumindest mit frischen Bohnen udn Kartoffeln. Zwei weitere Tische um uns herum waren ebenfalls mit dem Essen nicht zufrieden und reklamierten irgendwas, weitere Tische gaben halb volle Teller zurück. Große Augen bekamen immer die Leute, die ihre Rechnung serviert bekamen. Mit Erhalt unserer Rechnung wussten wir warum.. Knapp 7 Pfund für Service kamen neben den sowieso schon überteuerten Preisen dazu und KEINE KARTENAKZEPTANZ. Zwei Besuchergruppen mussten zwischendurch Geld am Automaten holen. Wir bezahlten dann auch und bekamen erst nach Aufforderung unser Wechselgeld zurück. Schade dass sich dieser Laden (vermutlich) schon zwei Jahre hält und wohl vor Allem von den zahlreichen Touristen lebt, die auch nie wieder hinkommen werden.

I ordered a medium rare sirloin it came clearly well done, the meat wasn't good. Furthermore the staff, although nice, didn't know much about steaks. The food is overpriced for what you get. Furthermore their bills are a joke. For example, I had to explicitly ask for my bill and when it came it was handwritten and on it it said "3 meals" even though 3 specific meals with specific prices and drinks were ordered.

we went there for lunch and the steak was fine but the atmospher was not good the manager had meeting with some one and very loud very talking and arguing not any light music even the food so so the mushroom was like tin one not grill and the steak was not perfect expensive restuarant and not very perfect food not recomend it the nappy changing room door ., the lock was broken and was not very pleasent

This has to be the worst retaurant experience I have had ever. The food was horrible, the staff were rude and unhelpful. From the outside the restaurant lloks good but what a unbelievably bad place. I am suprised that somewhere this bad can stay open. My friend got roast chicken and you could have bounced it from one end of London to the other. We got carrots that were still frozen in the middle. I asked for a medium steak and it was raw and cold in the middle. Unbelievable!!! When we mentioned the frozen carrots the waiter did not even apologise but said they would be deducted from the bill. He seemed to be immune from complaints. I would rather starve to death that to eat there again.

For a Steak house, I'd expect reasonably good steaks but no so much.Their food portions were big, prices were not bad but choose something other than Steak at this place.Steaks are grisly, cheap cuts not worth buying.Staff isn't particularly friendly or well mannered.The mirrors on the walls give the appearance of a larger place. Chairs were comfortable.Cash only.If there's nothing else then eat anything but at this place. If you do eat here choose something other than steak.

Auf den ersten Blick könnte man meinen, man hat es mit einem netten und niveauvollem Restaurant zu tun: Kellner in Uniform, gut besucht, selbst eine Coke wird im Weinglas serviert, etcDoch der Schein trügt. Das miserabelste Kantinenessen ist genießbarer als das, was wir vorgesetzt bekommen haben: trockenes Chicken, welches nach Holz schmeckt, verbrannter Tiefkühlfisch für Sage und schreibe 14£, uswDoch nicht genug der No Goes: teilweise dreifache Berechnung des !schlechten! Services, undurchsichtige Preispolitik, widersprüchliche Aussagen der Kellner, Kreditkarten sind als Zahlungsmethode nicht möglich, was einem aber erst nach dem Essen gesagt wird. Das i Tüpfelchen entdeckten wir dann, als wir das Lokal verlassen wollten: verschimmelte Erbeeren in der Obstvitrine, was für einige Gäste wohl das Dessert war. Dies lässt uns stark an der Hygiene des Restaurant zweifeln und lässt bei uns außerdem Sorgen um unsere Gesundheit aufkommen.Fazit: für diesen miserablen Abend wurden uns 116£ abverlangt!! Die pure Abzocke und eine Riesen Frechheit!!!

This was my worst restaurang visit ever...my brother and my kids were as disappointed as me. Like someone Else wrote...the biggest mistake, was not to read the rewievs before eating!It took about one hour to get three burgers and a steak.The staff were so unserviceminded as people can be. The price? £80 was way too much, according to the food we got.So what ever you do, save your money and eat at a real restaurang, there are plenty around!

Lamento no haber leído los comentarios esto antes de acabar en uno de ellos. Concretamente hablo del que hay en la misma calle de la estación de metro de Bayswater .Fuimos a cenar allí el típico "fish and chips"...COMIDA: El fish resultó ser algo bastante parecido a las baritas de merluza congeladas de cualquier marca que vienen listas para freír....y digo "bastante" por el formato de congeladas y listas para freír ,ya que en cuanto a calidad son inferior a la mas mala que pueda haber en el mercado.BEBIDAS: Una vez nos tomaron nota empezaron a preparar las bebidas, pedimos unas cocacolas (al módico precio de 2,50 libras aprox)... y nos quedamos alucinando cuando vimos que el camarero metía su manaza en una cubitera para coger los cubitos y ponerlos en las copas.....Al ver esto, y sin dejar de alucinar, inmediatamente les dijimos que no queríamos hielo (viva la higiene!)... A continuación procedieron a coger una botella de 2litros de coca cola y a llenar las copas..... las dejaron en la mesa y tachán! estaba caliente la bebida .. impresionante. El trato del personal pésimo y la limpieza en general tirando a mala...IMPORTANTE: después de tomarnos la nota de la comida, nos dijeron que no aceptaban ningún tipo de visa... sólo efectivo!!... vamos que si no llegamos a llevar dinero en efectivo no nos sirven.. y bueno si llegan a tardar 2 minutos mas en decirlo nos hubiéramos encontrado con los platos en la mesa.Espero que este comentario sirva para que no vuelvan a tomar el pelo a nadie mas, no he exagerado nada...yo y el resto de compañer@s de aventura aun estamos alucinando

We went her because we wanted to have a british dinner. Ate lunch earlier at a good pub and tried to upgrade the premises :)But did sadly not check with tripadvisor........It's hard to not rate this place terrible, but there were some few good things here: The chairs and sofa was comfortable.The scottish salmon was very good. (Just lucky ?)The Chateaubriand was tender ( but the Chef can't know how to treat it)Sure, the location is good.The cheap wine was better than expected. (Didn't want a full bottle and they were out of half's).....and there was a cloth on the table....and they accepted Mastercard.But the rest was definetly terrible !Next time I'll go online before I go in

We made the mistake of reading the other reviews on here after we'd ordered our food and unfortunately they were all correct. The salad was dry, the steaks gristly and a supposed "oven roasted chicken" deep fried.The staff unhelpful, almost ignorant (not sure if they speak very good english). It was awful do not eat here!

The food was awful, the staff was rude and unhelpful, we were not informed that it is a "cash only" restaurant until pay-time. We ordered two fish and chips plates and to our table were served one fish and chips and one fish fingers plate. When we complained about it ,the unsmiling waitress said that it is "almost the same dish" and refused to change it. If I wanted my 10 year old to eat frozen fish fingers I would have gone to a fast food instead. The worst choice of restaurant we ever made.

I visited this restaurant with a friend and her 7 year old son. We explained we had limited time as we were seeing a show in less than an hour. They told us that was fine as the waiting time was only 15-20 minutes. They were true to their word and our food arrived within that time. The children's menu was very limited (I think there was only 3 or 4 choices) but my friend's son was happy with the sausages and chips and we were impressed with the quality of the sausages (which we find can sometimes be compromised on a children's menu). Our meals were tasty and fairly reasonably priced for the west end at around £12-£15 for a main course. Unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert but the desserts on the trolley looked pretty good and homemade.

Siamo capitati per caso in questa steak house, ma non ne siamo usciti molto soddisfatti perchè il conto è troppo 'salato' rispetto al cibo consumato, si accetta solo pagamento cash (e viene immediatamente precisato non appena ci si siede), il personale non sembra particolarmente felice di vedere entrare i clienti...e l'ambiente in effetti risulta un pò cupo. Il cibo ci è sembrato non così disastroso ma comunque nulla di tanto eccezionale da giustificarne il prezzo.

We walked into steak house on Sunday evening. I should have walked straight back out! Firstly water came to our table ...warm in plastic bottles . When we asked for ice the bar lady slammed a pint glass down. Ordered our food and waited nearly an hour. The food came it was cold, and rather unappetising . I discretely walked to bar to say for was cold for the aggressive owner to say ' it's the cold plates not the food! ' I said I wanted warm food and that plates should be warmed too! His waitress then clicked her fingers at my grandmother and said give it here. We asked if the food was going to be re cooked or heated as we had rice. She snapped and pointed to give food here.We decided to leave. We asked to ay bill and the owner said ' why?no one complains our food is good?' I tried several time to pay whilst getting abused by the owner and then walked out. Reading these reviews I'm glad I walked out....tourist trap praying on city visitors who cannot read menu fully. Walk away!

We were a party of 5, and looking to have a nice dinner in London, Bayswater. The waiter service was awful, and they didn't use any manners (leaning over the table and elbowing us) we ordered a set menu, consisting of crab salad and a steak and a glass of vinegar (which was meant to be red wine) the starter-Presentation was diabolical, and we could smell the Crab from the kitchen... Clearly festering with bacteria and topped with seafood dressing to disguise the smell! Steak in wine sauce-This was served with Bisto gravy that was very watered down, cold frozen beans and lettuce, which was an unusual mixture to say the least. The steak had been microwaved with lines drawn on it, and was not cooked as ordered, a medium steak was well done and this applied to all 5 meals! Overall the food was terrible, the service was terrible, and we all had to go to the pub to forget what we had experienced. I've never tasted such awful food! This place should be shut down before they kill someone...

We were expecting to have a lovely evening meal. We were a party of three. We were told that we were expected to wait for 50 minutes (even though the restaurant was half empty) for our food and would have to pay cash. We entered anyway, what a mistake! The service abdominable, the staff had a very bad attitude. The coctails were served all wrong, and our coke was very watered down, never had such terrible coke in my life! The prices are dreadful, 4 tiiny tiny chicken wings "on fire# with no flavour at all, 5,3 guid! You had to add a lot of salt to get any taste out of these "firy" chickens. We ordered some stake with gravy and chicken with red wine sauce.. well the sauces on both plates were excactly the same stuff, dreadful in taste and texture.. some kind of brown slime with random beans and mushrooms. The meats were very chewy and dry. Potatoes seemed to have been waiting to be served and were dried out. The most tasty part of our dinner, was the bottle of Helmans mayonnes, brought to the table.... All in all our meal cost 90 pounds!! We had some coctails to start, but still this price is treadful considering the crap we had to eat.. Tho' our plates left the table half full still.Never go to this place, we are utterly disappointed that we spent our money in this craphole!

My wife and I, with our two children, ate at this ‘Restaurant’ tonight and were absolutely disgusted with the standard of the food, the cleanliness of the premises, the food preparation area, the way their prices advertised and the general standards (or lack thereof) of the business. I should mention that I am not normally one to make a complaint, having spent the last 20 years in the Royal Marines and now the Royal Navy! I have eaten in some pretty awful places around the world so did not expect this level of dissatisfaction in my own ‘back yard’.I went to this restaurant with my two children and ordered 2 x Children’s sausage / egg / beans / chips and a T-Bone Steak (Med Rare) for me. I waited over 30 minutes to have an order taken followed by another 30 minutes or so for the food to arrive. When it did arrive, the “well hung” (advertised) steak was stone cold and raw! It also looked like it had been out of the fridge for days as the meat was dark red with no blood. The Children would not eat the sausages as they “tasted funny”, which is always a bad sign to start.I complained and the same steak came out, slightly warmer but still not cooked properly.My wife arrived and ordered a Fillet Steak (Med / Well) which came out in a few minutes, but was not great. To say it should be a fillet it was “chewy”.When she took my 5 yr old daughter to the toilet, she went to the disabled toilet as there were no signs for the normal toilets. The door could not open fully as there was a freezer in the way, which suggested a wheelchair could not gain access if they needed to. Worse of all there was a table top where all the bread was being cut up and prepared for service, right next to the toilet. I am sure this poses a public health risk.The 2 meals and 2 children’s meals with 2 apple juices and 2 diet cokes cost us £75.75!!! I got my card out at which point they told me they only took cash. There was a table of 10 German tourists next to us who had not been told this either and were shocked. Luckily we had enough cash between us. I asked for a VAT receipt and was given a hand written (scribbled and not itemised) receipt for £80?? The company is VAT registered.When we got outside, the blackboard said the Specials included a fillet steak with chips and mushrooms for £13.60 unlike the £19 (plus £3.90 for chips) we had been charged from the menus. I am thoroughly disgusted by the whole evening and have since seen that all the reviews on Google and Trip Advisor are of a similar vein. How can this be? Is there anything that can be done about this situation? It’s a bad advert for your Borough and London as a whole!I wrote all of this to Westminster Council's ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH department and got this really good reply:Dear Mr Gary TurnerFood Safety Act 1990 as amendedFood Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004Premises: Scotch Steak Houses, 117 Queensway, London W2 4SJI refer to your recent complaint regarding unhygienic conditions at the above premise; the poor standard of food served to you; the location of the bread table in close proximity to the disabled toilet and concerns over their pricing and contradictions between prices advertised on the black board outside on the pavement and those printed on the menu. You also highlighted concerns over the disabled toilet being partially blocked. I can confirm that the complaint was referred to me on the 2nd April 2013 to investigate and carry out a full inspection of the premise. Following this referral a full inspection of the premise was carried out by myself on the 4th April 2013. I can confirm that a very poor standard of hygiene was found at the time of inspection and the business has been awarded a one star rating which means that major improvement is necessary. At the time of inspection I met with the manager and also the owner of the business and discussed my concerns with each of them. A detailed inspection report will be issued to the business early next week and an unannounced revisit to check on compliance with that report will be conducted within a period of 4 weeks. If significant improvements have not been put in place by that time legal action will be considered. In relation to your concerns over pricing, the specials offered on the board outside refer to that exact dish and I was informed that had you specified that you were ordering from the board you would have received the specific food offered at that price e.g. a small 6oz steak. Unfortunately your order was taken directly from the menu and therefore you were charged separately for each item ordered as listed on the printed menu. Please be assured that as a result of the proactive work carried out by this Department the premises will continue to undergo regular food hygiene inspections and any action deemed necessary to protect public health will be taken by this Department. I thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. If you require any further advice or information in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me on the above number, or my Manager, Ms S.
