My second visit here, tried the chicken burger, not very good, dry and tasteless, and still served in that awful brioche bun, a very bad choice for any burger!!. Onion rings are the best ever though.

Visited this location yesterday, great food and great service. The burgers were very tasty, only complaint was the bun, it was a brioche bun, they should offer a choice of buns. The home made onion rings were the best I have ever eaten.

Don't be led in by the attractive American diner interior - it's all style over substance. The food is average at best and overpriced. My hotdog was the blandest thing I think I've ever been served in a restaurant in a dry bun and limp sweaty onions. And for £6.50 just for the hotdog, it's shameful. For the same money you can get far better burgers and hotdogs elsewhere.

Cannot commend the staff on duty today enough at lunch time. I left four 13 year old girls in their care while I went shopping (the best of two evils!) and returned 20 minutes later to pay for the meal. The staff had been brilliant and praised the girls for being polite and courteous. I am so grateful that the staff trusted me to leave them and to come back and pay. The girls had a lovely time, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. Well done!

I haven't eaten at Ed's diner for years but I remember it being delicious. I came here with my friend and we ordered 2 chicken burgers, one with cheesy fries and the other with plain fries; both came with onion rings and coleslaw. My chicken burger came with salsa and guacamole but there wasn't much in there to taste unfortunately. I loved the fluffy bun. The fries were a little on the warm side and considering they had cheese on them, I expected them to taste hot but they didn't. The meal in itself was good but I have had better at some of their other branches. I probably wouldn't eat here again. It is also quite expensive for what one gets.

We stopped here for a quick drink before a cinema viewing. There were two bar staff behind the bar; one was operating at tornado speed serving drinks for the dining tables; the other was glacial and took 20 minutes to serve 6 drinks, I had to repeat the order 3 times in the space of 2 minutes and between serving 3 couples had to leave the bar for about 3 minutes on each occasion. Whilst I am sure there are positives for Ed's, this experience was so bad it became funny!

Visited here at half term as we were staying in the Premier Inn opposite. Last minute decision, and we were a bit hesitant having read other reviews. However, on the whole we enjoyed it, bit of a hiccup but sorted out to our satisfaction.50s style diner serving largely burgers and hotdogs. You can order these on their own or on a "plate" which includes fries, onion rings and coleslaw. Some low fat options available as well. With burgers, there are regular and large options.Wife had a regular cheeseburger plate which was fine. We got an email voucher for a free hotdog by using the wifi from Prezzo next door, youngest daughter had this with fries. Eldest daughter had lemon chicken, whilst I ordered a large stacked burger plate. When my came, it was only a small burger, however. Told waiter, and was offered either a change to the correct burger (but 15 minute wait) or take the small burger and get 20% off the whole bill. Took the latter option, which I was quite impressed with!Desserts were pretty good, cheesecake ok, waffle very big and kitkat sundaes really tasty. With discount and free hot dog voucher it ended up being good value. Wouldn't have liked to have paid full price though. One minor niggle, there are jukeboxes on some tables, 20p to play a record which goes to charity. We never heard ours played, however, even after asking the waiter.

A burger plate with full sides arrived with salad. My original waiter came over to argue the point. I took my family of 4 prior to seeing a film. Our first time there as we fancied a break from the usual cheeky Nandos. But it was a big mistake as the food was terrible. I had a burger, fries and onion rings. All of it was bad from well overcooked and hard to chew onion rings to uncooked and nasty chips and a just about ok overcooked burger. Wife and 1 son shared a rib and wings platter and that was all terrible too. We will never go back.

We decided to stop by Ed's after watching a film at the nearby Cineworld. The menu catered to everyone's taste, even vegetarians. Our food was freshly prepared. My friend and I had the regular hamburger which was really good. I'm glad the company decided to go back to the original style of beef pattie. They changed it 5 years ago and it tasted awful. Now, it's great and tastes like a proper hamburger. The onion rings were crispy and light. The children's menu was perfect. Good atmosphere and excellent service. I'd go back again.

Went here with my boyfriend for lunch on a Saturday.Have to say the portions are small gor the money we paid. We went large and called the waiter to check if he had got our order right. He confirmed it was right. It was the type of portion one gets in Wetherspoons. My burger was 4oz but it looked smaller. Also I had the fiesta burger which was surposed to be spicy but it wasn't. The onion rings had bits of black on them....like when the oil needs changing. The burger meat didn't taste like it was homemade tasted frozen. The type you get at MCDonalds. My partner liked the cheese and bacon fries reminded in of Nathsns in the USA but again the quantity was lacking. The best thing was the milkshakes as they were nice but smaller than I remembered. The service was great as was the atmosphere but the food was disappointing.

I've been to other Ed's in London and they have all been amazing; not just the service but the way they cook the burgers.I have been to Ed's in Wandsworth 4 times now. Yes, I'm a forever optimist... Thinking, surely it can't be this consistently bad over the space of a year? Maybe the waiter was having a bad day, maybe the chef was on hallucinogenic drugs when he tried to cook my burgers? Who knows... Who cares? I've come to the realisation that this place is bad!!The first time I put up with the bad service and grossly overcooked burgers, because my daughter was really hungry and I didn't have it in me to argue about it and put it down to experience. Then I went back a few months later and walked out after 20 minutes waiting for food, after seeing the chef openly serving food with his hands and wiping his hands on his filthy apron, as well as watching the waiters mixing up the orders and seeing them going cold on the counter top. I asked the chef if he thought that was an acceptable way to serve food, which he did, but his manager didn't.6 months later I went back for more suffering.. I asked the waiter to make sure the burgers were 'medium' and even repeated it so he acknowledged what I said. They came to us well overcooked. I sent them back and had no apology from the waiter, but the manager offered us free deserts, which I declined. He then gave us a £20 Ed's voucher and told us we didn't have to pay the bill. Seems like he was used to this!My daughter and I went back a month later with our voucher... the same waiter got the order of 2 burgers a fries and a shake wrong, even though he wrote it down. The burgers were still not 'medium' even thought they were cooked by the manager this time, as he recognised me..The Italian waiter's ego was bigger than his stature, which would have been alright, except he didn't back it up with good service!! He bill was £25. I gave him the £20 voucher and a £20 note to pay for the £5 difference. I stupidly assumed he would use the total of the voucher and give me £15 in change... wrong! He came back and gave me a voucher for £15! I soon got him to change that...This is a burger joint... If you can't cook a burger to the customer's requirements, it's time to pack up shop! Ed's Wandsworth fix up, because I can't see this place still open in another year!!

Read on... I think it would just be easier to share with you guys the e-mail that I had to send to Ed's diner: Dear Sirs, I visited your store today - the one in Wandsworth Southside shopping centre; and I feel as though if I do not write this e-mail to yourselves then further crimes may be committed against innocent cows. I will never enter any of your stores again, ever! - But, I feel so strongly about this I feel as though I must inform you of your wrong-doing to prevent annoying anybody else. First of all; my problems began when I asked your waiter for a 'rare' steak, I was told that you do not in fact serve steaks rare. Why? On what planet does a decent restaurant that knows what steak is...not serve it rare? What kind of policy is that? At this moment, I honestly felt like screaming and running out... And boy should I have! So I settled for the 'medium-rare...but please make it as rare as possible'. 10 minutes later, what I can only describe as something that looked like it deserves to be on the shelves of a shoe shop arrived. I could immediately tell that this was not a rare steak, not even a medium-rare steak, but an insult to humanity. This piece of grey rubbish that looked like a dry piece of elephant skin was abysmal. The steak was so rubberised, I felt as though a steak knife was not sufficient and that I would need to use a chainsaw to cut through it to reveal the horror inside. Immediately, as I knew that it would not be possible for me to eat this inedible piece of garbage on my plate I asked for a replacement. The new piece of steak arrived around 10 minutes later. This time, it wasn't well-done, which was good, it was in fact rare. So for that, thank you - I am now fairly happy. However... Do you people seriously not know how to cook steak? Why have steak as an option on the menu where first of all it seems that you have no idea where to source a good quality piece of beef, second of all - you have absolutely zero idea on how to season a piece of sirloin properly and thirdly; this steak wasn't cooked in oil / butter and with good seasoning... it tasted like it was boiled. Note: you do NOT serve a piece of steak to ANYBODY - that hasn't been caramelised properly, especially the fat.I seriously suggest that you seize selling steak any further unless you put all of your staff on training courses. These courses consist of thousands of 'how-to' guides on YouTube. It isn't rocket-science. All I'm saying is... Your steak is rubbish. So bad that it deserved this long e-mail to tell you how bad it was. And no, I do NOT want a replacement any further... I do NOT want any vouchers or anything that would lead me back to your disgusting restaurant. So please, do not bother even trying. Kind Regards,Extremely annoyed customer.----- Note: For Trip Advisor, I've changed some of the words around... I used much stronger language in my e-mail... They responded saying they refuse to respond and that I'm not welcome in any of their Diner'sI only ate here because of the Cineworld promotion... But it is the WORST place you could ever go... SAVE your money and go somewhere else... The food is DISGUSTING... And this isn't just the steak I speak of... I also bought a hotdog ... The 'cheese' on top looked like diarrhea

I visited Ed's to pick up a greasy treat for myself and my OH after a long walk, we had seen the pulled pork burger advertised and it seemed like a great idea. We live locally and had decided to get take away and pop home to eat. So an all-American style diner conjured up images of man Vs Food sized burgers, lashings of naughty toppings and bags of tasty fries to boot; but 'twas not to be. The pulled pork BBQ burger was a small beef burger on a limp bun with a tablespoonful of pork and a splash of BBQ sauce. This was accompanied by a handful of fries, again, average and uninspiring. These were ordered as 'cheesy fries' and perhaps I pictured a mountainous portion piled high with cheddar; but instead we received a small plastic tub of nacho cheese dip.Whilst that might be fine for some- I felt robbed. We decided to order a pizza later that evening instead as the portions were woefully weeny and unsatisfying.Perhaps the take away offer is poor and others might recommend a sit down meal instead, but my assumption is that these guys built a restaurant around a concept and added the food as an afterthought. I'm told their milkshake are good: but if I want a burger ill pop to McD's two doors up next time. At least I'll know what I'm getting :/

This is now the third time that I've gone to eat with friends at Eds in Wandsworth, unfortunately, it's also the 2nd time that the service has not been that great. The first time we tried to eat there was just after it had opened, we waited in vain for someone to seat us, but gave up after 20 minutes of queuing and no acknowledgement of us at all - the 2nd time was better, so we hoped things had improved ... unfortunately by the experience of today it appears not.The waitress who served us today was pleasant, and the order was taken quickly, the food was good, but once we finished we just sat there waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting - the waitress did eventually enquire if we wanted dessert, when we said yes she didn't return - don't get me wrong, I like the fact that I'm not chased away, but I do like some effort to enquire if there was anything else we'd like.Eventually, we gave up waiting, deciding it would instead be better to go home and have a dessert elsewhere - I think Eds could be a great place, but the staff really need to realise that the customers are not an inconvenience to them.

I had my first trip to Ed's Easy Diner last weekend and was back there the following day. What a treat! Both times I went the service was really good - the diner was very quiet actually. The diner looks fantastic too. Neon-sign-lights, jukeboxes and unlimited refills on filter coffee (and fizzy drinks). Everything I expected, though that probably means it wasn't authentic... The staff were really nice too! As for the food, the burgers were really good. The fries and the coleslaw complimented it perfectly. When we went for breakfast we squeezed in some cheecky pancakes and they were absolutely amazing, served with fresh fruit and syrup. I would really recommend this place. After going to Ed's in Central London many years ago and enjoying it, I decided to take my family to this new local offering when they came up to visit me from Dorset. We arrived at Sunday lunchtime to a queue and waited ten minutes to be seated in one of the booths, there were six of us including two children, the table was a bit too small for us but we managed to squeeze in. We were handed menus and children's colouring equipment and sheets and were seen too fairly quickly and ordered our food and milkshakes. I don't know if they were understaffed but it looked like the waitress was not too happy to see us, no smile just average service. The food was delicious, chilli cheese burgers, hot dogs, hamburgers and fries although I was hoping for proper american fries however they were more like steak cut chips. The milkshakes are amazing coming out in tin jugs to pour into glasses and the shakes are proper ice cream ones, nice and thick. Unfortunately the problems arose when the meal finished. We sat and waited and waited and waited for the plates, bowls and cutlery to be taken away. They weren't being taken away for about half an hour we still sat there. We were completely ignored by members of staff rushing around with miserable faces. It was annoying as we were looking forward to getting dessert menus which were not offered. The children were getting quite restless and we were all getting increasingly annoyed. I asked one of the waitresses if we could have dessert menus, flustered and irritated with us calling her she rushed over with 4 menus and threw them on top of the dirty dishes and cutlery. We were hoping she may have cleared the table but she rushed off. So I took the drastic step of becoming a waiter myself and started to clear the dishes, I walked across the restaurant over to the counter top and put them on top, then went back for more dishes and washed the table with a wet wipe. Other customers noticed this and so did the staff, I think they were shocked when I did this but didn't really offer any help. We still had to wait for a further five minuets before our dessert orders were taken. There was no apology. Desserts were just as delicious as the main meals especially the pancake stack and waffles and ice cream although one order brought to the table was wrong, it was quickly changed. We had barely finished the last mouthful of dessert when a waitress came over instantly and cleared everything. She had obviously learned. The food is excellent but staff and service are poor which is a real shame. The place would have been better if it had a front door and was not opened up as part of the shopping centre like Nando's or the new Prezzo here, too much noise and confusion around which diminishes the fun element of the jukebox's on tables which play music across the restaurant.

A greasy spoon joint styled after a 1950's American diner. Food is good value, tasty, and promptly served by a friendly staff. Don't count the calories though :-)

I want to be fair, although I was not impressed with my food I think it was because I ordered chicken and not a beef burger, after all it is the GBK. However, my chicken burger was just nothing special, actually the similar one from Burger King is tastier.

So sad this is our last meal here (as site closing) , had amazing meal and fabulous service from Pasqual and Marika, hope to see them soon at their new Byron restaurants.

Great service as soon as we arrived, my chicken was cooked the best way I've ever had it and the waffle was very thick. Hubby had the ribs and they were again the best we've both had as they were so tender and succulent.
