Loved everything, food was good, spicy, rich and tasty. I had Laksa Bebek, a duck with coconut curry - amazing. And I really enjoyed that mango juice I ordered because the Laksa had chilli in it, pretty hot and spicy dish. My friend had a vegetarian Komplit. With tofu, tempeh and fried noodles. We also took a plate of garlic Pak Choi to share and were very full. It is also one of the places around China Town and Soho where you can get Bao buns with card payments, not cash, which is convenient.

My wife and I were excited to visit Nusa Dua on February 1st, 2025, eager to enjoy some authentic Indonesian cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. She ordered the Nasi Padang, which was just okay at best, poorly presented and lacking the vibrant appeal that Indonesian food is known for. I opted for the Mie Hoon Goreng with Chicken and Prawn, and to my shock, it was completely inedible. The dish had a terrible smell, and after just a couple of bites, I couldn’t continue. I left my plate nearly untouched. When we brought our concerns to the waiter, we were met with complete indifference. His response? "I don't know, the kitchen is downstairs, I don't know." No apology, no attempt to resolve the issue—just dismissive and uninterested. The restaurant itself is in poor condition. The decor is outdated, the place feels neglected, and cleanliness is definitely questionable. It’s evident that Nusa Dua has lost its passion and commitment to quality. The food lacks the signature bold flavors, beautiful presentation, and authenticity that Indonesian cuisine is famous for. The service was terrible, the ambiance was uninviting, and the food was unacceptable. And the cherry on top? They automatically charged a service fee despite the awful experience. I wanted to complain about it, but my wife just asked me to let it go so we could leave and never come back. I gave 1 star, but if it were possible, I would rate it with negative stars. In all my years and dining experiences, this is the worst restaurant I have ever visited. This restaurant should, at the very least, change its name so it doesn’t continue giving a bad reputation to Indonesian cuisine, which is supposed to be flavorful, colorful, and well-presented. I do not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options elsewhere.

Nusa Dua Restaurant is one of the best Indonesian restaurants in London, offering a range of traditional dishes such as bakso, sate ayam, and soto Lamongan. While the flavours may not be 100% authentic to Indonesian standards, they are still highly enjoyable. Additionally, the restaurant holds a halal certification, making it a great choice for those seeking halal options. The staff are exceptionally helpful, particularly one server from Timor-Leste, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall.

I’m Indonesian (born and raised). The last time I visited this restaurant was in 2004. I’m amazed it’s still here today (Jan 2, 2024). I ordered nasi uduk and nasi goreng with veggies spring rolls. Very disappointed with the authenticity of the food.. Nasi goreng was tasted ok, but not authentic way of serving (missing fried egg). The nasi uduk served with 4 prawns, roasted peanut anchovies, and 2 spring rolls with shrimp crackers - nasi wasn’t coconuty enough. Es teh manis (sweet ice tea) was good.. and the sambal merah and hijau were perfect. Servers speak Indonesian. A bit of the space is rented to Chinese Crepes and hotpot. Overall, it’s ok.. but don’t think it’s good enough :(

if you’re looking for Indonesian food, look elsewhere. I was surprised at how quickly our food came out which suggested either our food was not cooked/seasoned properly or prepared the day before. Our ayam bakar which translates to GRILLED chicken was FRIED and it was cold as if it was fried yesterday. The Tahu telor which is egg and tofu was just literally fried egg no tofu in sight and bland. Bakso had veggies (unheard of) and two different kinds of noodles (weirdest tasting broth i have ever tasted). To the owners, please remove “Authentic Indonesian food” from your signage as this was a disgrace to Indonesian food.

I ordered Nasi Padang at your restaurant, but what was served did not resemble the Nasi Padang I have experienced in Indonesia. My expectation was that it would be truly authentic, as the name suggests. "Padang" refers to a city in Indonesia where this dish originated. Therefore, what you served is not Nasi Padang at all. Please understand that if you name a dish "Nasi Padang," you must ensure the ingredients and preparation follow authentic Indonesian methods. What I received felt like a mock-up version of Nasi Padang. It is truly blasphemous to call it "authentic Indonesian food". If you wish to continue offering and maintaining the same kind of food without any improvements, please take down the name "authentic Indonesian food". As an Indonesian, I cannot accept this. I hope I am the only Indonesian person who feels the need to comment on this. Thank you.

Don’t waste your time. Food was mediocre. We asked for spicy food and it was very mild. My coconut water(£6!) was mouldy and tasted awful! They totally forgot to bring our mains, the beef rendang came before the rice so we ended up having it cold! Starter was hot and sour chicken soup - sort of like Tom yum soup, chicken had a distinct smell to it like it had gone off. What really annoyed me was that service was so poor, no plates were given, we had to use hotpot bowls from the next table, not sure how they thought we could eat the rending straight from the serving bowl! Waiter also forced us to pay service charge even after complaining that service was terrible, food was cold and not made to preferences, he had the cheek to say it’s not a takeaway and everyone has to pay! Service charge is not a legal obligation. I gave up trying to reason with the waiter, it was pointless, he wasn’t even trying to understand. Do yourself a favour, there’s so many better places around this area!

On the whole it was a pleasant late lunch. The sharing starter was very good and I ate too much of it to be able to finish my main course. I took most of the main course home with me. However they still provided us with a complimentary dessert (Banana fritters & ice cream Indonesian style). After paying, the cashier handed me the receipt while back facing me and did not even say thank you? It really killed the vibe of the restaurant.

Doesn't taste like Indonesian food. Overall its ok, had seat when everywhere else was full. We were 9 people seated in undergound seating, does not look too clean :( My other Indonesian friends mentioned this place was good until the owner changed or smthn. Asked for some Indonesian food to the waiter in bahasa Indonesia and he could not even understand. Had rendang, was not like Sumatran rendang. Because its slurry, used different spice, and different texture. Who eat rendang with shrimp crackers 🙄 and a soup? Whatever soup that was. Rendang is eaten with rice, stewed veggies and have specific taste and sauce. This does not look like it or taste like it at all. The only thing I enjoyed was kangkung. Overpriced as well. The food was just generic Asian food. This is not an Indonesian food. Don't claim it as 'Indonesian' 🙄

The best food I had in central London. The Nasi Kempit & Satay were amazing. Staff was helpful to find us table. It was open during christmas while many closed which was a life savior for us.

Extremely expensive for what it is! The quality of food is not worth. Although halal, it also serves pork. All the furniture are so worn out. The staff rushes us to order the food by standing by our table the whole time (it was not a busy time) and they also rushed to clear our table. Overall very disappointing!

the food was FLAVOURLESS!!, for set C the soup was tiny, very tiny and it was absolutely flavourless and tasted like hot boiled water with a scent of coriander. The noodles and side dishes were pretty good though and they had quite a savourfull flavour, yet the ayam dumplings were nasty!! the chicken felt raw and there was barely any filling in it. Moving into the service, we had to wait close to over 25 minutes and not worth at all, and when it came to eating we werent even given chopsticks as we looked foreign..

As an Indonesian, this is more like Asian cuisine. I order Nasi Uduk Lengkap, I have never ever heard nasi uduk accompanied by seafood (more like sweet & sour prawn). The rice is like dumped into coconut milk. Teri and the peanuts are kinda cold. The service is very rushed, they ask if we are ready to order every 2 mins. The atmosphere is very noisy and hectic. The first time, you come they will offer a hotpot (not even Indonesian menu !!) Just rename the restaurant to some Asian name. Don't use Indonesian name for this kind of food.

The soto was plain, when I shared the feedback it was ignored. Satay sauce was watery. Felt it was rushed. I went to taste authentic food, left dissatisfied and disappointed.

We had high hopes when we saw this Indonesian restaurant. But how that hope diminished within minutes upon entering. The tables and chairs were so tightly packed leaving a small space to walk. Even before we ordered our food, we already felt uncomfortable after being ushered to a table snuck in between two other tables, my chair can hardly be pushed out! The table I'm at smells of fish, stale and the whole place reeks. And the food, oh dearie me...the worst Indonesian food we ever tasted! Is it even Indonesian? I do NOT think so because I have had proper Indonesian food before in Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Medan, Singapore and Malaysia. The tahu telur served was just an oily deep fried omelette with a few small pieces of tofu. Tahu telur should not be flat and chewy but crispy and tin high. I ordered the nasi padang and it was a joke! It is NOT nasi padang. The beef rendang was more like watered down curry than rendang and the beef? What beef? Only fats! Totally disgusting. The fish curry was covered in jelly slimy like texture and it was sweet and oily. There are no vegetables but a few slices of cucumber and tomatoes with two crackers that accompanied my so called nasi padang. I can't even eat it. The only consolation was the mie bakso, although the bakso balls are tiny the soup was alright. For the price you paid it is definitely not worth coming back again. Other diners who had ordered the hotpot seem to be enjoying their food. Perhaps Nusa dua should stick to serving hotpot & Chinese cuisine instead. And please don't bother to use the toilet...the hand dryer is disgusting! Mouldy and chalky at the same time. Yucks!

Food was ok but honestly I don’t think it’s an Indonesian restaurant per say. Yes it has nasi padang and all of that but the rendang doesn’t really taste like rendang and the meehon goreng taste like it needs more ingredients. Looking at the menu and the people working I would think it’s more of a Chinese restaurant.

It turns into an all you can eat hotpot place now and it’s actually quite good😍 Although the meat (beef and lamb) were not of high quality but they were okay. And we love the wide selection of food provided👌🏻 Staff were nice and friendly

Perfectly located in walking distance from main attractions, nice staff and comfortable room. I appreciated the use of filtered water and the rich availability of coffees and teas in the room.
