Granada Fish Bar in Wyre

Excellent quality food at a reasonable price. I had the large fish and chips meal, the fish was delicious, thick flakes and not greasy and the chips were proper chippy chips. The service was very good, we were able to take in our dog (only in a specific area of the restaurant) and the waitress brought him a bowl of water.

Took my children in for their lunch this afternoon, we’re in Blackpool for the weekend and took the tram to Fleetwood for the day. Ordered the children’s lunch and whilst waiting my 2 year old had a whistle he’d just won on a tombola at Fleetwood Market. He was sat on the stairs whistling away and the rude, arrogant male Chinese owner came from behind the counter shouting and pointing at my child to be quiet, stop screaming and get outside! I tried explaining that he is only 2, on holiday, having fun and being harmless and he didn’t acknowledge any of that! Pointing at the door for him to get outside! I asked him not to speak to my child that way, then he commented on my parenting blaming me for my child’s behaviour! My child wasn't misbehaving in any way, he was simply being a child, playing with his toy. I asked for a refund as I wasn’t happy with his service or the way he was handling the situation and bullying my child. He said he processed the refund via card and when I exited the shop and checked my account, I noticed he had charged me again! I re entered the shop demanding a refund in cash to which he refused to do, he’s shouting in my face about my child shouting in the shop and pointing at me refusing cash payment because I’d paid by card. Not accepting the fact I didn’t trust him to process refund via card as he’d already tried ripping me off! He started laughing at me and shouting again! I attempted to speak to the Chinese lady who point blank ignored me! Turned her back and refused to acknowledge my request! At this point I asked my partner to intervene, who was stood outside with the children. He persistently refused to refund via cash and left me with no choice but to accept card refund, this time however I received a refund receipt! Two other customers requested refunds for their orders because of this incident. My children were scared and I am flabbergasted by the lack of empathy What the owner should have done if he was unhappy about the whistling, is to ask me, his parent, to ask him to stop! Under no circumstances did he have the right to speak to my child in that manner and show aggression towards him! My child could have had a hidden disability and he didn’t check or politely ask him to stop blowing the whistle! To storm at a 2 year old child pointing and shouting at him to leave is utterly disgusting and I’ll be reporting him further! Definitely not a family man with zero customer service skills!

5 Star Review House in Manchester but have the privilege to work in Artist Studios above Market, (since July) - so I’m often trying out different places for eats. Trying several market food outlets, all pretty good, tried Ferry Cafe multiple times, fab, and tried other cafes around town too. Sad that very little fish landed at this once thriving fish town of my birth, so the fish I eat is likely trucked in from Scotland. That aside the Granada is brilliant. Friendly owners. I’ve eaten in several times, and taken out several times too. Each time quality great, highly recommend.

One of the best Fish and chip shops out there. It's one of the only places I've eaten fish and chips where I can say I have never had a bad experience. It always tastes as good as the last time. My son was in a grumpy mood when I went so he didn't want any......after he smelled the food as I was devouring it, he tried some fish and a few chips and the conversion was complete. He is now also a fan of Granada fish bar.

I went to Fleetwood for a very long, awaited day out. I am disabled and it's very painful when walking or sitting forlongperiods. I particularly wanted to go back to the Granada fish bar and restaurant due to visiting a few times when my exes family had a caravan close by. There were 3 of us who travelled to Fleetwood. My ex, my stepdaughter, and myself. When we arrived in Fleetwood, I found I couldn't walk to the restaurant as it was just a bit too far. There is a bus stop outside of the building, ergo we couldn't park there. Instead, we parked in the side street. As we couldn't use the restaurant, we decided to have a takeaway. I waited in the car while my ex and stepdaughter went in, and it didn't take long. We all had fish, chips, and curry sauce. The fish was cooked to order, meaning it was fresh and hadn't sat for ages. The chips were proper and fresh cut, not frozen! It was served in a cardboard container and a small tub of the curry. It was lovely and hot, and there was plenty. I could only eat half, but the ex and my stepdaughter demolished theirs. I was rather surprised my stepdaughter had cleared hers as she isn't a big eater! So overall, it was a successful day out with lovely, fresh, hot, and tasty food 👌. It cost £27.00 in total. We finished the day off with a whippy ice cream on the front 😋

We sat inside, and both had the fish dinners. Fish was lovely chips a bit dry but nice enough, cafe was clean and the lady who served us was pleasant, I would go back if it was our local chippy, however we come from the wirral took our little boy to blackpool an jumped on the tram upto fleetwood

Fried food is not greasy on the plate. Service very friendly. Chicken bites are not processed. Chilli was home made and had a specials board. Overall a nice place. Portion size in comparison is on the smaller side, but service was great and always room for a pudding. If its quality you are after, but not over facing, this is a chippy I would recommend.

Chips overcooked fish plenty full service very slow disappointed with overall meal as we have been using the Granada over 22 years needs to improve. Before coming back.

Had a large cod chips peas , crispy batter with lovely soft fish inside , coffee was good too , my grandson had sausage chip and gravy, he loved dipping his chips in his gravy as it was a little pot, although I'd got him an adult meal we both ate the lot and we'll definitely be going back

Updated 19 05 24 -------- I'm updating this review and including a photo. I'd still recommend visiting here. The staff are friendly and nice and the food is tasty and good value. Keep up the good work! -------- It was my parents who visited here first. I knew they had been a number of times as after each visit they would tell me how nice the food was. This went on for a good while until Eventually, we decided to try for ourselves and have been very pleased. The food here is either takeaway like a standard chip shop, or sit in restaurant style. There is a good amount of space across a couple of rooms. So perhaps even a coach party could fit. We done it both ways and have nothing bad to report either way. It’s actually become a weekly favourite of mine to visit, sit inside and have something to eat. Staff are always friendly and the food is always quick from order to table. There is the usual array of food, specials and a good selection of hot and cold drinks. I have only one negative minor point which could be improved. It’s simple. If you are dishing out chips to serve on a plate in the restaurant and there are bad/black ones. Then remove them and replace them. Don’t serve them on the plate. It looks really bad and there have been times where there can be quite a few. Overall I’m happy to recommend to anyone and the food is genuinely tasty and really nice.

Never been disappointed. Been coming here for years whenever i'm in the area. Meals are well prepared, cooked to order, hot, tasty and sensibly priced. Fish is freshly cooked with crispy batter, Chips are excellent, golden brown and crispy. Lovely stuff! Staff always polite and friendly. The restaurant is always clean. Can't praise the place enough.

We've visited many times, the food is good, the new owners who took over from Steve have carried in the good work, the staff are friendly and the venue is clean. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Fleetwood or passing through.

Went in Thursday 21st March 2024 for lunch with my elderly mother. . Was greeted nicely and chose a table by the window. . . Menu clear and varied and was easy to select from. . I chose XL Fish n Chips Special and my mother asked for a fish without batter (it can upset her stomach). The special included pot of tea, bread and butter and choice of sides, I had mushy peas. All served in under 10 minutes. . Fish was massive, mushy peas in a side dish, the plate was absolutely full. The batter was nice as I would call "West Yorkshire Style" (In Lancashire we make the best pies, but I must concede they make best Fish & Chips), fried in dripping / Lard and batter not too thick or bubbled up or bland, but still nice and crunchy. . Peas great. . . Tea came with separate hot water. . . Fish tasted really fresh, my mother said so too (hers without batter). . Chips excellent We both said we really enjoyed the meal and the service was really good, friendly but not patronisingly so. Toilets were very clean and a disabled toilet was easily accessible. Gave the young bloke that served us a small tip, as i said he was great. Parked easily outside, it is on main road through the town on the tram route. . . I would imagine that it would be great for a family meal (It was a quiet day). . . I had been in a few times years ago and remembered it was good, it has been modernised since but it still is top class We will go again, I suggest you go too "Grand as 'owt."

Wow me and my girlfriend had the gorgeous fish chips and I had curry and the girlfriend had the mushy peas and bread and butter and a tea and coffee, it went down great guns, it was absolutely gorgeous, lightly battered Cod cooked to a gorgeous crisp when you bit into it, it melted in your mouth. Absolutely gorgeous chips home made, well cooked to perfection and not at all greasy. The Peas and curry sauce were to die for and you could tell home made. The brews were also delicious hot in tea and coffee pots,and served to our table along with the bread. The service and friendliness and fun was exceptional along with the gorgeous food made our tea, after getting some sea air in Fleetwood. A little Gem in Fleetwood, we will be definitely be back.

A popular place, it was busy when I visited for a takeaway. I had a large cod and chips. The fish was good and fried fresh. The batter was thick and crisp. It was a decent size, but there was also an XL cod on the menu and I'd probably go for that next time. The chips were okay, not as fresh as the fish and a little dry. Took a while to be served, though it was busy.

So good been coming here for years and pass a dozen chippies on the way. Pensioners deal Fish, chip, peas, bread butter and tea for £6.75 is a bargain. Then today a young lady was the main chef and the food was just as good as when the Boss cooks! You have trained her well. Chips are perfect but the batter on the fish is beautiful like nowhere else. Love this place and staff are so friendly. Thank you.

got a chippy tea from here on Friday night, and it was awful - chips where overcooked and cold, fish rock hard and everything was greasy - its like the oil hadn't been changed in ages and everything came in small polystyrene containers - this used to be one of the best in town, but I won't go back - awful

We travel over an hours drive one way well worth the visit fresh cooked food served with a smile best service and quality fish and chips eat in or out best value always ready to help out clean surroundings equipped for wheelchairs ready to help to gain access in and out private function rooms downstairs toilets as well as upstairs caters for all ages gluten free food choice too where would you get all this a credit to fleetwood town centre will always support this fish bar the best in the country they go the extra mile xx

Have been here many times before, usually for a dine-in. Previously always excellent, but possibly new management has spoiled the experience? Passing by one lunchtime, bag of chips seemed like a good idea. Surly chap at the counter seemed horrified when I tried to use phone payment. "Cash only or pay five pounds" snarled the jolly fryer. I left, and will not return.

Worst fish and chips we have ever had. Chips were not warm and hard. Fish overcooked. We had to throw almost all of them away. Wednesday 30th August went there for a chippy take away as we had family staying and they do gluten free option for me and we had been there before. We ordered 4 x regular fish and chips, 2 jumbo sausages and chips almost £40 and it was dreadful. They were not busy and from point opf order to collection we waited 35 minutes. Chips must have been standing for all that time.Ended up having something on toast so will not be back here again!

Went there Wednesday 30th ordered 4 x regular fish and chips (one gluten free option) 2 x jumbo sausages and chips and we ended up throwing most it away - it was awful. Chips the worst we have ever had and the gluten free fish was over cooked and tasteless. They were not busy but we waited 35 minutes too. Not sure what went wrong yesterday as the usual staff were not there. Been before and been very good but after yesterday almost £40 spent and wasted we will not use again! Not worth the risk or the cost

Came here because of the positive reviews and we were in the area. I ordered the scampi and chips and husband had fish and chips. The chips were fantastic first of all. Second of all, the scampi tasted fresh and was juicy. NEVER have I tasted scampi this good. Husband's fish was basically half a whale and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Having a pot of tea just added to the experience. Well deserving of the excellent reviews it has.

Ordered 4 x pudding , chips and gravy, they brought out 4 fish , chips and gravy and expected us to just accept that . Reluctantly we eventually got our puddings. My daughter ordered a chocolate milkshake, which tasted nothing like a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake was £2.80, I took it to the counter and said it doesn't taste right and the guy behind the counter absolutely flipped and told me that 1/4 was missing ( that was the froth that had reduced) . That guy is so unbelievably RUDE... I definitely will not go back. Its a good job that guy had hold of the milkshake because he was so close wearing it!

The service is extremely slow , we waited half an hour before anyone came and took our order , the young lad who took the order didn’t have a clue what he was doing , didn’t ask us what drinks or anything we wanted.

Very enjoyable and excellent value for money. Enough on the plate for a hungry teenager and his equally hungry younger brother, well-fried fish (we had l each of haddock, plaice and cod and all were good sized pieces) and lovely chips; 'Fluffy inside' was the description offered by our ten year old. Friendly service, too. Highly recommended, and a return visit from us will be made very soon.

Been going to this chippy for over 20 years, Everytime we go to Fleetwood, OMG it's AWFUL now, Chips were horrible, the puddings were like it had been covered in water, slimy texture!!! Its changed owner the Man who was frying the fish was so RUDE, also seemed like he was nasty to his staff to, I will never go to this chippy AGAIN such a same had been a family Tradition to go there 😥, AVIOD this place, you will wait ages to be served aswell
