Graingers Sandwich Bar in Canterbury

Ordered one French stick turkey sandwich and 2 crispy rolls one with ham salad and one cheese and pickle. Wasn’t told till after they were made and paid for that they didn’t have any rolls left and gave us about 3 inches of french stick with the fillings! Absolutely disgusting service and the portion size was really disappointing!! If we’d been told that at the point of ordering we would have gone elsewhere!! Needs improvement big time as what we were given wasn’t worth the money we paid!!!

Been going to this place for more than a decade. Lovely selection of breads. The granary is terrific! Always get served quickly, just wish there were more specialist sandwich shops like this around these days.

I placed an order for platters for business event and was advised would be given a selection of sandwiches and wraps, upon collection there was only white bread sandwiches and zero wraps. I also needed something vegan for an individual but was told no. Little disappointed especially as it was for a work event and reflects poorly on myself. Sandwiches seem nice though and nicely presented.

My colleague and I have been patronising Grainger’s since before the refurbishment and the quality of the food offered, as well as the general look and cleanliness of the establishment has been consistently high. The “Special Breakfast Stick”, my particular preferred menu choice, represents good value for money: nicely cooked sausage, bacon and eggs in a sizeable fresh French stick, it tides me over for the remainder of the day. As for the hosts, they are friendly and happy to adjust the order to suit the client. In my case, I always ask for my breakfast stick to be cut in two, to make it easier to handle, and they always oblige. Top marks!

I called in at Graingers for the first time this year during the half term break (and guarantee it will not be the last either), just for a day visit this time. For again like other eating holes in the town mentioned on Trip Advisor by me, I have stayed at HB for many years, and remember Graingers from when it first opened. Though I believe the two original ladies who started it off (correct me if I'm wrong please?) may have moved on now. Leaving their legacy to the successors who still keep their high quality of service going, serving up sandwiches, rolls, baps? with a variety of fillings, too many to mention though they do have a menu posted on the wall facing you beyond the counter. I usually go for the sandwiches (brown by personal choice) and these are cut like doorsteps with plenty of filling in between, so you never go hungry unless you have a voracious appetite and two rounds is not enough. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for the original people, and their successors are following with the same standards of quality/quantity, ensuring the place will be running for years to come. I look forward to seeing it again in the summer, when I will be staying at HB again.

Sometimes you just want a sandwich for lunch - one that's made to order without fuss that you can take with you on the go, that's not been sat on a shelf for days. The ingredients are delicious and I like I can walk in and walk out with a delicious freshly made sandwich within 5 minutes. Good value, large portion sizes!

Very friendly staff, great service on all freshly made sandwiches, sticks and jacket potatoes. Fast friendly and well priced. Used daily for business and personal use but needs are always catered for regardless. Located in central town.

I always go to Graingers for my lunch, the staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them. There produce is always fresh and good quality. You definitely get value for money and I will definitely be returning.

I haven’t had a real sandwich in ages. I usually opt for the supermarket ones which are just plain evil. So evil that I usually only eat half and dump the rest. I ordered a sandwich from here today and went over to the beach. When I opened it, I was amazed by how much filling there was! Lovely bread packed with fresh salad and good quality ham. The menu is extensive and they do jacket potatoes as well. The prices are all very reasonable. If you want an amazing sandwich, definitely go to Graingers!

I always have my lunch here now as myself and my son find the quality and service fantastic:) jacket potatoes always perfect :) and always a great price, they even make my little boy a miniature jacket potato like mummy's :) x

Poseer un negocio local a menudo tratan a nuestro personal una vez a la semana a un almuerzo y Graingers compradas se ha convertido en algo una grapa en nuestra oficina. El servicio es rápido y las señoritas son encantadoras, nada parece demasiado pedir y son muy complaciente para el comensal más exigente. Normalmente teléfono antes, 10 minutos más tarde y tenemos 4 / 5 sándwiches recién preparados pic con rellenos de nuestra propia elección y normalmente extras que he pedido en ningún precio extra (ensalada, salsas, etc.). Es muy razonable, la única desventaja es que a veces son tan escondido que puede ser ignorada. Vas una vez y yo personalmente garantizo que volveremos a por más!

Any sandwich you want, you can get here. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great value for money too, and for proper home made sandwiches too, they don't skimp on ingredients.

We get our lunch here often the sticks are amazing and full of filling the prices are great you would pay the same for a sarnie at tesco. Highly recommend graingers to anyone

He estado en este bar de sandwich tres veces durante los últimos años, y no nos molestamos en ir a ningún otro sitio en H. B. para un sándwich para llevar. Orden no es tan fresca con los envases de plástico, excelente pan (he brown y es verdadero pan) y rellenos encantadores, aunque yo no come carne así que no hemos probado sus rellenos de carne. Buen servicio y a un precio muy razonable. Mi hijo, que no puedo comer pan, tenía una papa un precio muy razonable de la chaqueta. Muy recomendable.

Poor quality cheapest of cheap formed meat used in all their sandwiches, but their usual customers probably don't mind this.

Nice food and friendly staff however when I didn't have the right change the attitude towards me changed and felt a bit negative. Usually I would pay as close to the Mark as possible but it was a busy saturday and thought it would be ok.

I had the best Bacon, Chicken, Brie, Lettuce and Mayo sandwich ever! All warmly melted between to doorstops of soft bread and to top it off a brilliant price and service always with a smile!So nice to see a little business always busy and thriving!

Excellent food. Loads to choose from.. Made fresh to order, you can have anything you want,and they meet your needs ,which is great with fussy kids. Friendly staff too. Have been back many times.

This is only a place to buy your lunch from but it is well positioned to by lunch and then go and sit on the beach to eat it. They have a great selection of fillings and use lovely proper bread. The ladies that work there are always smiling and helpful
