Grain at the Corriegarth in Highland

The pub at this hotel is wonderful. For a week throughout Scotland I had searched for a beer from Orkney Brewery and I found it at this pub!! The pub offers a variety of local ales that often are not available at other pubs. The bartender, Siobhan, was superb. She is knowledgeable, friendly and kind. We loved our experience at this pub.

Just faultless. We were a table of 12 that were kindly accommodated at relatively short notice. Everyone in our party raved about the food, and the service was second to none. Our new go to in Inverness.

From the moment we walked in and ordered our first drink at the bar we were greeted by a very rude bar person (female, brown hair for the hotels info) she was extremely abrupt and rude whilst trying to act smug. (It doesn't look good on you) We had fish and chips which could have been lovely but the chips were cold. Wasn't even busy with food. Don't treat customers well at all and the manager is as least unprofessional.

Amazing. Food fabulous and service fab. Wafs a group of 14 and everything was just just perfect. Staff were fab couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend

Went for Sunday lunch and was so disappointed by the food the beef was overcooked, fatty and very chewy, the vegetables etc were very cold. We did not want to say anything to the staff as they were too busy having conversations with obvious locals who looked like they would back up the staff. Not a nice atmosphere!

From checking in to leaving Jenny was on the ball .. and was the same with every customer . Our 3 dogs were spoilt by Jenny she had time for everyone Food was amazing Evening staff just as amazing thanks for a lovely experience xx Rooms were great 👍

We (3) dropped in to this restaurant shortly before 7.30 pm on a Monday night; we had not made a reservation. The manager said it would be 30-45 minutes before we could be served. We were prepared to wait and he gave us a menu. Shortly afterwards he suggested we have a drink while we waited, so we did. After a while, I went to him to tell him which mains we would like. He said it would be better to wait until they were ready to serve us - "another 5 minutes". I persuaded him to take note of our choices. Time passed....I wondered if we should try somewhere else, but one of our party is not very mobile, and we don't know Inverness. A group of 5 or 6 men seemed to be waiting for their meals on the same basis. At 8.55 pm , an hour and a half after we first entered, our food arrived. The waitress apologised for the delay (the longest I have ever experienced in any eatery!). The manager also apologised, but said he did warn us there would be a delay. I suggested that he could have been more honest -- there's a big difference between waiting 30 - 45 minutes and 90 minutes. Perhaps out of embarrassment, he deducted the price of one main course from the bill. We didn't have any enthusiasm for more than one course. Rating: 2/5 We did get an apology, and the main ingredient in our meal was hot and well cooked, though the accompanying ingredients were rather miserly.

Lugar agradável, atendimento excelente, comida e drinks deliciosos! É um hotel com poucos quartos em cima e embaixo o bar/restaurante. O quarto é pequeno, mas muito bem arrumado e novo.

I hate to say anything bad about a place but..... Although we had booked a table and were seated promptly, they didn't take our food order for about 45 minutes. The place was clearly a local hangout so my family and I kind of stuck out. The cook's family seemed to be visiting that night as he left the kitchen area a few times to sit and talk with them. The food was mediocre. Overall the service was rather slow. There were two young ladies running the front including tending bar, taking and serving food orders, busing tables, completing transactions, etc. They seemed a bit frazzled by it all.

Most enjoyable fish and chips, and so pleased to a choice of small or large portion. We had one of each! Lovely home made chips. Very attentive manager and staff. Nice ambience, and they are dog friendly too ! Very reasonably priced. In the colder months they have a very welcoming wood burning stove. Do pop in if you are in the area, you won't be disapponted.

Overnight stay in Inverness, slight confusion with checking in, a little slow and was sent to a room which had not been cleaned, however this was quickly rectified and our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We wanted a curry so dined out and it is steep walk back from town but thr bar was very nice on our return. Slept very well and breakfast was great so no complaints

In for dinner on a Sunday. Plenty folk in, but not packed, we'd pre booked and were seated promptly, drinks orders taken. Food orders taken and delivered promptly and accurately. Food was piping hot, very tasty and server was attentive for drink top ups etc all night. Been in a few times and found the service and food to be very consistent.

Delicious meal enjoyed by all 3 adults and child! Great service and staff who all looked after us very well. Haven’t been here for a while for a meal and live away from Inverness, but will be back again when I can- thank you!

We booked into the corriegarth for a 50th lunch / early dinner . What a fabulous place - great service , food was amazing and staff very helpful , it was nicely decorated and perfect location for us with only a short walk into town .

We found the Corriegarth quite by chance and were very glad we did! Excellent service from our waitress and delicious food, the children’s meals were a good portion size, and our meals were superb. We would highly recommend the Corriegarth to families.

I have eaten and drunk in this pub for many many years and the present staff under the Bar manager John are the best group I have ever seen. Friendly and helpful, always happy to to go that extra little bit to ensure everyone is having a good time and nobody has an empty glass. Well done the Corry.

Just back from a 3 night stay here, with my husband and 2 dogs, loved this Hotel so much. From the room to the food, everything about this hotel is first class, in our room we were welcomed with a glass of sherry each, a packet of chocolate truffles, 2 bottles of high quality bottled water, room was spotless clean, and was cleaned every day we we stayed, Fresh towels, and fresh bedding, we also were given the water, sherry and truffles daily, what a lovely welcoming gift for guests! We are at the restaurant in the evenings as the food is superb, great sizes of portions and the price is extremely good. Staff were so friendly and happy to chat and give us ideas of where to visit. The breakfast in the hotel ranged from full Scottish breakfast to fresh fruits, even the dogs were made so welcomed. this Hotel is wonderful and we look so forward to comming back again as soon as we can. FANTASTIC ALL ROUND

Dropped in for a meal this evening, had a starter the garlic prawns! They were well presented and very atepitising 😚. I then proceeded onto the steak frietes which was beautifully cooked. all this at a very reasonable price definitely worth a peep!!

Booked for 14 few weeks ago, requested a copy of the menu, still waiting it’s arrival! Sent email two days before eating with them to confirm final numbers. Got there Friday evening to find two tables booked for me!Only one starter ordered and had to gobble it as they brought out the mains. Plated cleared and menus given for puddings, then we were forgotten! Took about 30mins before the order was taken, only two other people in the restaurant.Most disappointed with the service.

Had a couple of different pints of ale which was not very tasty and too cold for my liking but until you try, you just don't know.Ordered starter and main and waited quite a while before anything appeared. Unfortunately it was my main !Told the waiter I had ordered a starter so he took the main away and after another short wait, the starter arrived.It was a bit bland - potato skins with cheese and bacon. There was absolutely no taste at all to the bacon, all it did was bulk the starter up a bit.Then my main re-appeared. It was a salmon fillet with potato and veg. The salmon had a skin on it where it had obviously been under a grill or some sort of heat, boiled potatoes were OK and the only veg was broccoli. The broccoli wasn't so much cooked as just warmed up raw florets, so crunchy that they were unpleasant.I know Inverness is not a cheap place to eat but this was especially disappointing at the price.

I was part of a larger group and we mostly enjoy coffees/drinks from the bar while enjoying a relaxed chat within the spacious area of the lounge. Yesterday i tried some of the pub food and chose the smoked haddock, creamy leeks and potatoes. I wasnt disappointed by my choice. I enjoyed every morsel. Clean, well maintained establishment with friendly staff and good service. Will return.

This is a small hotel nine rooms with a bar and restaurant attached. The restaurant wasn’t open but the bar was at 4 pm with the same menu. My husband and I had Cajun Penne Pasta with chicken, salad, appetizers and a bottle of wine for under 50 pounds. The atmosphere was relaxed a local gentleman was there with his dog and the staff was friendly and helpful. Did I forget to mention the pasta was fabulous! I highly recommend.

We had a good big plate of tasty food. Classic dishes, not too expensive, nothing fancy bit had a nice dinner. However there is no excaping the big tv screens so that kind of sets the mood.

We liked the outdoor appearance of this restaurant so decided to stop in. We sat ourselves indoors as it was raining out (there are outdoor patio seats as well), and were close to the real fire fireplace! Drinks ordered at bar, then table service for meal. Food choices have typical pub food; fish and chips, burgers, steak, fish as well as salads and pastas. Prices start at £8.50 to £22.50.Staff is friendly and seemed quite local. Horse racing in TVs in back. Dog friendly.Enjoyed the meat pie and local brews.

Paramos a beber y se establecieron en la parte pub. Pudimos pedir comida en el bar una vez que estábamos listos para comer. Aunque no estaban en el piso principal del comedor, el bar los servidores fueron muy atentos a nuestra mesa como si nos estuvieran. La comida era deliciosa, y el ambiente era genial. Nos gustó tanto que volvimos para un segundo tiempo, pero el lugar estaba muy concurrido, y no había donde sentarse para nosotros (incluso en la parte pub). Nos quedamos muy decepcionados. Oh bien, nos encantó, ya que parecía menos turístico que lo que nos encontramos más en la ciudad. Tan triste que no podríamos repetir la experiencia de la última vez!

We enjoyed this lively, well placed property. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was quite friendly. We were introduced to their pink gin and tonic, which was a lovely fruit-filled refreshment. The large outdoor deck area was always a popular gathering place for locals as well as the hotel guests. While it was not gourmet dining, the pub fare styled food was very good and plentiful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient location with a fun taste of pub experience.

El mejor fish anda chips, las raciones más que generosas ,cogimos el pequeño..todo estaba buenísimo. .la terraza es muy agradable. Ademas sirven comida hasta las 10 de la noche. De lo mejorcito

Un grupo grande de nosotros fuimos allí para el almuerzo. Nos pedido nuestra comida debido al gran número de nosotros. Llegamos en grupos separados, así que pedimos nuestras bebidas y nos dijeron que nuestra mesa era el largo. No había una verdadera bienvenida o calidez mostrada por cualquiera. Fuimos a nuestra mesa y esperado el último de nuestro grupo a llegar. La comida llegó lentamente a la mesa. Uno de nuestro grupo se informó que no había sopa aunque comprobar ordenados. Una alternativa fue elegido desde el menú. Llegamos al lado del menú principal. Muchos tenían no cubiertos ya había sido utilizada para el arranque. Cuando se señaló a la atención de este era o simplemente los cubiertos de dumping en la mesa o entregados directamente y no por el mango. El pollo estaba seco, el filo de pastelería estaba bien preparado en el interior pero pastoso y floury en el interior. La pastelería fue dejado por casi todo el mundo. El salmón fue satisfactoria. El servicio era muy pobre. Cuando no se queja el interés mostrado. Fue sólo en el punto de si pago que dieron un descuento. Estábamos todos dejaron decepcionados por el servicio y calidad de comida. Recomiendo encarecidamente que pruebe el Heathmount o ir a otro sitio. ☹ ️

great place to grab a pint or several--besides regular taps, also had the most cask ale selections i saw in scotland(and had my favorite, Old Speckled Hen) prices reasonable-big local hangout, big sun deck for outside seating. didnt eat here but food looked really good. if you are there for a while, you will meet Peter-- If you do, tell him James from Dallas sends his best!

I am a regular drinker and eater in the Corry and have been for many years. I have noticed a marked decline in the bar snack food recently. For years I have extolled the standard of the Nachos as the ‘best in Inverness’. The last twice I have had them they have been dismal! Hardly any cheese or salsa in it whatsoever, I hope the place is not about to hit a bit of a decline? A real shame if it does.

We were looking for a basic pub meal,near our accomodation (The Ness Guesthouse).This was a minute walk and we partook of a delicious meal ! My husband had the curry special and I had the fish pie. Both meals were delicious and hot and promptly served. It was a chilly evening and the open fire was an added bonus ! Think we might re visit again tomorrow night !!Thankyou!!

Reservado para una cena de navidad con sus amigos y cuando llegamos era "demasiado ocupado" nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, así la camarera señaló donde tuvimos que sentarnos, nos sentamos a la mesa, no había menús y nadie bateó un párpado que estuvimos allí. Tardó 20 minutos antes tuvimos que ir hasta el bar y decirles que estaban allí sin menús o tragos tomados. La comida no era muy buena, el 'Preparado' zanahorias eran de roca sólida, y la presentación era pésima. Los camareros y las camareras no era muy amable y cuidado pasando por delante sin darme cuenta habíamos terminado nuestra nuestra comida y bebidas, tuvimos que pedir bebidas en el bar. Esto significaba que la comida tardó más de 2 horas y tuvimos que salir corriendo al final, no volveré aquí, no me impresionó.

Really disappointed with everything. There were 8 of us for dinner and a few drinks. The bar and restaurant were quiet. We were seated away from the bar and the room was cold and could have done with a clean.The service was incredibly slow. The staff were in no rush to take our drinks/food order. When the food finally arrived it was below average. Very poor indeed.

My husband and I stopped in after an afternoon walk and enjoyed a draft pint in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere; quiet conversation going on and a friendly bartender - just what we were looking for! A crackling fire was a bonus!

Visited last night for a meal, 14 of us in total. Very busy and took a bit of time for food to arrive, we were kept up to date apologised to and suitably compensated for the short wait. Food was excellent, new chef in place and he did not disappoint, I eat here often and the food last night was the best I have had in the Corry for some time. I would recommend a visit here to any hungry people looking for quality food.

We were a group of 16 who were accommodated very last minute after having a bad experience at restaurant across the road, we were very well looked after and the staff were very friendly and good banter. Lovely food also. Thank you

Estoy agradecido nuestro otras actividades sobrepasó por esta experiencia. Por desgracia, este taints mis sentimientos de Inverness.

The proprietors of our nearby B&B; recommended the Corriegarth for "pub food," so we went and had a good experience there. The food was indeed excellent, atmosphere was relaxed, staff was friendly, etc. It's also right across the street from the Heathmount restaurant, so at busy times it gives you two places to try. If you like pub-style food, it's a very good choice.

Some dishes are great. The Fish and Chips and Sizzling Fajitas were fantastic. On the same nights the Red Thai Prawn Curry was totally inedible and the Garlic Chicken tasted of nothing in particular. The staff though are very helpful.

Celebrando un cumpleaños con otras 6 diners. Gran selección de menú vegetariano y como una buena opción - genial ver algo distinto en el bistec coliflor que era increíble, gran patatas fritas también. Cada plato fue enviado de vuelta a la cocina vacía. También tenía un coctail - pepino y menta que fue muy refrescante.

I had the Scotish salmon, generous portion, prepared exactly the way it should be. As busy as our servers were, we had service with a smile and personal attention!

We stumbled on this place just down the road from our B and B in Inverness. What a gem! I had battered haddock, hubby had haggis pie. We both loved our meals. Service was wonderful. Prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend you visit.

Schönes hotel mit gutem pub, sehr viele Besucher! Freundliches Personal das am Morgen ein leckeres Frühstück serviert. Dir Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet, leider kein Kühlschrank. Bad ist sauber und gut ausgestattet. Sehr gerne kommen wir wieder

Mi marido y yo nos detuvimos para un bocado ligero antes de regresar al hotel. Él tenía el jamón y sopa de lentejas y yo tuvimos la crema de hongos. Ambos eran fantásticos! El personal actuó como estaban disgustados de esperar en nosotros y la camarera jefe era más preocupado por los parroquianos con kabitzing y realmente no quiere tratar con nosotros.

No soy un huésped aquí, así que no puedo opinar sobre el hotel en general. Pero paré en esta noche para las bebidas y la cena, y ambos fueron excepcionales. Empezamos con los nachos fiesta, entonces tuve la cadera steak sandwich, y mi hija tenía el Steak & Ale tarta. Los tres platos estaban deliciosos y muy bien presentadas. También disfrutamos de cócteles, que me he dejado en varios de los menús de un pub escocés que he visto. Es perro amable, también.

I had a good fish and chips here. The ale was very good as well. Service was friendly and attentive. The wood fire added warmth and atmosphere. The menu was surprisingly diverse, making it hard to choose. There were several good vegetarian options.

Disfrutamos de un muy sabroso y bastante comida de los domingos. El servicio es excelente, el personal amable y eficiente, especialmente Amy, Kieran, Liga y Katarina. Me uno a mis amigos aquí varias veces cada semana para bebidas y una comida. Vale la pena unirse a su club de fidelización para generosos descuentos y ofertas especiales. Debe ser el mejor lugar para la gente en esta parte de Inverness.

For 2016 Christmas celebrations we decided to take a trip to Scotland, we booked a lodge outside Inverness and was travelling up from South Wales on the 24th so I decided to make it more special and book a surprise Christmas dinner for the family at the Corriegarth Hotel.

Worth the uphill walk from the centre. Warm and welcoming. Good real ale and a nice steak sandwich with some rather nice chips.

Tripadvisor Leer antes de ir y pensamos las críticas estaban bien. Llegamos allí y el restaurante estaba helada. Contantly abrió la puerta y la puerta exterior también estaba abierta. Pedimos nuestra comida y cuando llegó parecía bueno, pero que en realidad era muy básico. No es un montón de sabor de pescado aparte de mi nietas. Lo que fue una gran porción de comida para niños. No hay ambiente en el restaurante. Nos sentamos al lado de una estufa de leña que era falso. Necesitan un real es muy frío.

Estábamos alojados en un hotel cercano y me gustó el aspecto del menú, así que decidí probar. Reservamos una mesa para un sábado por la noche y me alegré de no como restaurante lleno muy rápidamente.

The roast beef might have been called the chef's "special" but I've had far better out of a packet er, which makes me think...if it looks like it, tastes like it then...Either that or you have no idea how to cook roast beef.

Este es un gran lugar extensa con un toque moderno, y sin embargo, el personal muy amable. Cerveza bien cuidadas, buena comida y un ambiente animado. Puede que prefieras algo más pequeño y acogedor, pero si vas a salir a cenar es merecidamente popular.

Me alojé en una casa de huéspedes cerca de este lugar. El menú me atrajo así lo he comprobado. En el día que me fui allí, era uno de esos extraños días escocés del tiempo. De soleado a tempestuoso y soleado 3 veces. Estoy muy contento de que el personal de este lugar no importa que emigraron de estar al aire libre para el interior. El personal era muy amable para tratar con mi constante movimiento.

We visited tonight having made a reservation for the restaurant. A very pleasant waitress greeted us and showed us to our table. We both ordered steak & ale pie. The portions of food are huge!! It was delicious and we would happily eat here again.

Hice la cena aquí para un grupo muy grande (45 personas), y no podríamos haber estado más contentos con la experiencia. El personal era muy paciente y eficiente - me acomodó muchas peticiones dietéticas especiales, y no se dejó amilanar ante cuando añadimos unos pedidos muy a última hora.

Fish and chips very ordinary. Black and blue burger overwhelmed by strong Dijon mustard; I had requested the mustard to be on the side, so I was less than pleased by this. You must order everything at the bar.

Buena selección de cervezas, menú era típico de comida de pub, sentamos en el suelo como el sol brillaba! Buen tamaño y calidad de las raciones, aunque era aceptable la torta de carne estaba seco y podía haber hecho con más salsa. El servicio era bueno y el personal amable merece una visita si estás en la zona y a sólo un corto paseo desde el Hotel Kingmills.

Mi hermana y yo fuimos para un almuerzo con nuestra abuelita hace unas pocas semanas. Fuimos durante el día, y el lugar estaba prácticamente vacío, pero tenía un ambiente muy agradable.

Habiendo comido aquí en los últimos años tenía ganas de una agradable comida. Desafortunadamente, este no fue agradable. Abadejo a la cerveza fue comprado en congelados, la pasta para los niños con queso y mantequilla???? Salsa de queso ¿Por qué no? La pasta era nadar en mantequilla derretida con un poco de queso rallado. La ensalada de jamón jamón y patatas fritas era simplemente así era ordenados ensalada - no vamos a volver de nuevo para la comida en una prisa. El servicio era bueno y todo lo demás estaba bien, pero la comida era un 3/10 en el mejor de los casos.

Advertencia a todos los vegetarianos/veganos va aquí... Soy vegetariano y 30 han sido ya que era 8, así 22 años de estricto vegetarianismo... No hay carne, pescado, huevos o carne extractos derivados tales como gelatina/. El curry tiene una 'V' al lado del menú y pregunté para confirmar que no era vegetariano curry y me dijeron sí, resultó ser un curry de gambas, que no sabía hasta que había empezado a comer y encontré gambas!! Ten cuidado! Estoy devastada que esto me ha pasado ya que tienen unas fuertes en comer los animales o derivados animales estrictamente vegetariano y estoy. Nunca he comido cualquier tipo de pescado antes en mi vida y estoy indignado y asqueado que me sirve esto como una opción vegetariana en este día y edad!!! Yo también estaba enfermo después de esto. No fue una experiencia agradable para mí y yo ciertamente no vamos a volver!

Fue espléndido clima y fuimos para la cena al aire libre. Y pedimos la comida más raro. Nachos, simplemente porque alguien les vimos y me parecía increíble, pero sabía aún mejor. Luego costillas. Las costillas. Y también fueron increíbles. Disfruté del el jalapeño col. Deliciosa comida creativa muy. También incluye las opciones de cerveza cervezas de artesanías. La única pena es que no volver

On a 2 week vacation trip through Scotland, it was the best pub to take a rest. Awesome food and splendid scottish beer! Lovely place to stay, pretty waitress as well :)

Gut aufgeteilter Pub. Die Bar in der Mitte und dann rechts und links Sitzgelegenheiten. Der Kamin ist ein kleiner Blickfang. Diverse Biere und Cider im Angebot und auch eine gute Whiskey-Auswahl. Das Essen sieht lecker aus und die Portionen sind groß.

Popped in here for lunch, bar was reasonably busy with only the one waitress working, she was very polite and helpful and nothing seemed to bother her.

En Inverness en negocios y me recomendó este lugar. Una chimenea crepitante abierto nos acogió cuando entramos en la agradable teniendo en cuenta que nevaba (en abril). El personal es muy servicial y amable... La comida era decente y merece la pena. Si quieres buena comida de pub honesto, dadle una oportunidad a este sitio!

Checked in at the bar at 5.15pm shown to our rooms. I stayed in room 2 which was well decorated and a couple of chocolates and a small corked bottle of sherry on the table with a welcome card nice touchThe en suite was clean and fresh also. A bit black mould around the bath at the tap end. Shower over the bath was powerful a bit of a fiddle to get the temp "mixer tap".Overall the standard of the room was good. The bed was comfortable pillows could of been plumper.We went out into the city centre to eat only a short 10 min walk. On returning we had a couple of pints in the bar beside a real fire watching the Monday night football match on sky sports.Breakfast was ok limited choice of cereal fruit yoghurt. But cooked items was freshly prepared and of a reasonable quality. Sausages were poor.Overall good value for money. Would recommend you give it a try.

Nos metimos en negar la posibilidad de una comida familiar y nos recibió dos amable personal.

Nos detuvimos en el camino de vuelta a nuestro hotel para una bebida tranquila, tenía un aspecto en el menú de la cena y decidimos cenar. Yo tenía venado y mi esposa tuvo el bistec. Buena comida quaulity y preparado para el camino que les pedimos que hecho. Buen ambiente en el bar con personal amable y atento. Volvería a comer aquí de nuevo en nuestro próximo viaje a Inverness

Nous nous sommes rendus dans cet établissement pour y souper. nous l'avions choisi (par rapport au restaurant de notre hôtel) car les avis sur Tripadvisor étaient très bons. Au final j'en ressors un peu déçu. L'endroit est sympa, le service comme il faut mais la qualité fut en deça de mes attentes. Certes ce n'est pas mauvais, la présentation des plats est plutôt soignée mais ça n'a vraiment rien d'extraordinaire. Au final, un peu surcôté dans les avis jusqu'à présent. Ma note finale : 3/5

Tras pasear por Inverness buscando un buen lugar, nos tropezamos con el grano de partway dentro de un hotel subiendo la colina desde el centro de la ciudad. Nuestro camarero me dejaron probar varios de sus cervezas de barril para que me ayude a elegir uno. El bistec pez espada era deliciosa y el ambiente era relajado.
