Located on platform 5 of Crewe railway station the Gourmet Coffee Bar and Kitchen is a good place to get a drink whilst on your train journey. When I was there I was served by a friendly lady and her colleague took my money and my drink was ready. They were a very efficient team!

I often travel through Crewe for work. It would not be a complete commute without a coffee from Gourmet Coffee Bar. Every time without fail, the food is great quality, and the coffee tastes brilliant. The sweet bakery / pastry options are the icing on the cake (pun intended). What other place you know can boast "great taste gold" stars on almost every single product? Very friendly, chatty staff - will continue to buy from Gourmet Coffee and Kitchen at Crewe Platform 5.

What great service and coffee! Chatty, friendly and helpful staff with a good seating area and a vibe that belies a railway station setting. Worth a visit if you’re at the station.

Have just got a latte and pain au raisin from Gourmet on Crewe station platform 5. Feeling hard done by as my pain au raisin was “pain sans raisin”. Very disappointing. Latte is fine

You have to try a sausage roll, they are banging! Proper authentic home made sausage rolls. Ask for it heated up and it’s out of this world If you like your sausage rolls you will love one of these bad boys. Oh and the coffee is nice too! And the staff are friendly too so all round worth it.

The coffee is decent. Make sure you are prepared for a chat with the team, get some good random facts to regale them with, it's fun.

I have never once left a review on anything. I fancied something to eat so I got a sausage roll and a coffee whilst I was waiting for my train. It came to £6. I thought that was steep..... anyway it’s been 34 minutes and I still can’t get that sausage roll off my mind. I’m dumbfounded at how they have made a sausage roll that good.

If you’re thinking of getting a coffee from here for your train journey, don’t bother. The young lady on the till seems to take lots of orders quickly and the older lady making the coffees just can’t keep up. Me and my friends had just over 10 minutes before our train and my coffee was still not ready. I’d already paid for it and had to leave it behind because my train was about to depart. (Note - I wasn’t offered a refund) My friend managed to get her coffee’s with 30 seconds to spare but was not given her pain au chocolate which was literally an arms reach away from us. We could have reached behind the counter to grab the pastry ourselves... Will not be going back, lesson learnt!

Third time I’ve got a coffee here at the kiosk between platform 1 & 5, each time it’s been a shambles. The trio here (lad serving on the till and the 2 girls doing...well, I’m not sure), probably need to go on a customer service course because when you are between trains & just grabbing a quick coffee it’s not ideal to pay for your coffee & then have to wait for the girls to finish their conversation before they decide to start making it. It would be nice to actually get what I ordered as well, skinny latte rather than a full fat one but it seems more of a “get-what-you-are-given” kind of place. Not sure how this place copes at peak rush hour. Sorry for disturbing you ladies, I won’t bother next time!

I was on my way back from work after a long meeting waiting for my next train. Thought I might as well grab a drink and a bite to eat. I ordered a coffee and a lemon meringue muffin - hands down, best muffin I’ve ever eaten! I was amazed that this little cafe had so many amazing things to offer. Will definitely be visiting again when I’m next stuck in Crewe.

Odd this - the one on platform 5 always seems to be better run and better stocked than the one on platform 6. The coffee is really good and the selection of cakes and pastries is good if a bit expensive. Had pastéis de nata for sale this week - translates as Crewe custard tarts I think. The ladies on platform 5 always helpful - and fast which you need when the train is about to arrive at 6.28 in the morning.

My sister and I decided to venture down to Crewe train station today for obvious reasons like getting a train... I decided to "treat" her to a coffee, not from just any place, but from gourmet coffee bar & kitchen, I've been here many times and have for the most part received excellent customer service and awesome coffee so I decided that our coffee fix would happen here... to say the least I'm vexed by how we were treated, we not only left feeling awkward and for the most part pissed off we will never spend our money here again... the lady behind the counter started out by looking extremely annoyed that we had to interrupt her conversation with her colleague but also that she had to make coffee her whole body language screamed I don't want to be here! Now I know things happen when you're on the front line serving I've been in customer service for 8 years dealing with all types of customers... in this situation one of the coffee cups fell on the floor that she was going to serve with, not only did she huff and puff about it falling on the floor she actually picked the cup up off the floor and proceeded to make my coffee with it. Now I've been on some health and hygiene courses in my time but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to bin it and get a new cup, so when I politely said "sorry can I get a fresh cup please" she retorted back rudely "it is a new cup" looked at her colleague and they both proceeded to laugh at me and give me all of the attitude I think they could find in their bodies ... these "ladies" are bad for your business and need to be spoken to about their horrific attitudes, better yet sacked ... won't be coming here again

Two friendly baristas, a delicious cup of coffee, and a large selection of good food: exactly what was needed during a nightmare journey where three trainloads of people were crammed onto one train. I'm very glad I took the decision to get out at Crewe and take my chances on a later train. I felt thoroughly restored after visiting this coffee bar.

Dear God. For a station coffee bar, people having trains to catch, this is excruciating. Give yourself fifteen minutes and you'll be ok as the staff catch up with their mates, get the orders repeated and then finally make a coffee. Less than that, and you're better off anywhere else.

While waiting for the Manchester train, we ventured a little further along the platform to avoid the usual run of the mill coffee outlet. We are glad we did, the flat whites were perfection and the two ladies serving were obviously enjoying their jobs. No wonder it was so busy

Use this outlet and the one on Platform 6 about twice a week. Brilliant hot lattes, excellent care in the coffee handling, great beans, silky frothed milk. But what's more is they are all friendly, all fun, and take the time to share a chat, even at 6am when it's cold. The flapjacks, porridge and bacon baguettes are also excellent. Highly recommended. Don't go near the 'official restaurants' the quality is no where near as good.

Asked for a sausage baguette, but was told the sausages hadn't arrived yet. Seemed strange for 8am. Opted for the bacon baguette instead, which was pre made, sat in an open container on top of the microwave (not hygienic). This was heated in the microwave as my coffee was made. The young man asked if I wanted any sauce on it. I asked for brown only to be told minutes later that he only had enough to cover half of my 4.50 baguette 'deal'. Pathetic. And everything was tasteless.

I had a nice enough sausage baguette and coffee whilst waiting for a train thanks to the breakfast offer at Gourmet. Ok, it's not quite as cheap as Subway but the nearest Subway was too far away and the baguette was better than a Subway one.

We held a joint 60/80 party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are brilliant and extremely helpful from all correspondence to the night. We had about 30 ppl for a small do and they were brilliant letting us come earlier even though half of our party did end up staying to the late! The food was exceptional the steak ale pie was devine and had our guests talking about it for weeks after! Compliments to the chef! Lovely party area, when decorated with balloons and banners it was a really good atmosphere, the bar were happy to play music on Spotify all night. Really spacious and just a really lovely evening. Great hospitality. Deffo worth considering for a function.

We used to live in Weaverham and often walked to the Riverside for a drink or food. They used to do 2 main courses for £10 which was good values for money. I know those days are now gone but after our recent visit I don’t think we will be returning. We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 people. We ordered drinks which came promptly and then ordered our food. We only ordered 4 mains, fish and chips, sea bass and 2 x steak and ale pies. We waited over an hour for our food, others who arrived after us received their food so we asked how long ours was going to take and were told they were just plating up. 10 minutes later we finally received our food. The fish and chips did look lovely and was a healthy portion size, the pies were well filled but mash potato was a bit on the small side. The main issue was the sea bass. There were 2 small fillets with a few crushed potatoes underneath, a spoonful of frozen peas, 2 green beans and 5 mange tout. Now for £17.95 I expected more. I’m not a big eater or a quick eater but I finished my meal first, and I knew I wouldn’t be full for long. How much do vegetables cost? Surely some carrots and tender stem broccoli wouldn’t break the budget? I did mention this and I was not charged for my alcohol free G&T, but I couldn’t wait to get home and have something to eat, disappointing.

Visited the Wilbrahams on my lunch break. I found everyone to be incredibly welcoming and friendly. There was a wide range of options on the food menu, I went with the grilled cheese sandwich and was not disappointed! Generous portions, great value for money and friendly staff.
