Popped in for lunch while in Bristol with friends. The service as always was excellent with really friendly staff. Big shout out for the milkshakes which are just the best I’ve ever had. The food was excellent as has always been the case when I visit and as a vegetarian, a good selection for myself. Overall great food, brilliant service, all at a good price point.

Spent an evening here with friends, a good range of milkshakes, including Vegan milkshakes, good chunky chips. The burgers were well presented and good selection of food.

Well what am I to say about the whole experience! It was utterly poor from the get go! Spent £65 for a family of four the service was poor there was one man serving, the food was cold as it was all sat on the side waiting for ages also lacked everything you order and burger and it doesn’t not come with any sides or salad so you actually spend about £16 per head for a main meal! Chef in the kitchen visible massive beard with no hair net vile! Sent a complaint through to their head office for the branch to ring me to tell me I had to go back in to receive a refund! Overall terrible experience I will never be returning unless it’s to get my refund !

Fast food with a difference. Order and pay at the till and the waitress brings you your food. Burgers are excellent and all cooked medium unless you ask. Mine was a touch on the rare side but not too bad. There seemed to be a few people using an app which gave you a free burger on your next visit. the couple on the table next to us were attempting to use it and to be honest it seemed a chore or they just didn't understand.

GBK staff are friendly, our food arrived promptly and it was tasty. But it's close to £20 per head for a drink, burger and fries. There was no queue to get in, but a near 20 minute wait to place you order. You have to rejoin the queue to refresh or order additional drinks. We spent 20 minutes eating, 15 minutes waiting for food and about 35 minutes in queues! I'd get the advantage of this model if the food were reasonably priced, but it's not. There are numerous alternatives to GBK, I won't be hurrying back.

We revived excellent customer service. A great variety of vegetarian and vegan options. The food was delicious. Would defiantly visit again.

Food was amazing ordered via deliveroo and was warm and drinks were chilled. Only reason why it isnt a 5 star review from me is because there wasnt a bottle opener for the coke bottle.

Nearing the top of Park Street, this is a good place for a meal to gather your energy for the final stretch. Nice selection of burgers and the option to order them without the bun and with corn on the cob. Nice sweet potato chips. Bottomless soft drinks were very good.

GBK is ok. In fact it’s pretty good. It’s only problem is that it is surrounded (in Bristol) by AMAZING one-off local burger restaurants that are just better. I’m never unhappy dining at GBK but I wouldn’t choose it over the other alternatives in Bristol.

We waited a long time for a table, probably about 40 minutes (which we were happy to do so as we were a large group and it was quite busy). However then we waited to order and we waited a long time for food. Food was lovely though! Amazing burgers! Can recommend the Moroccan burger.

After waiting 10 minutes to order we then had to wait another 10 minutes to have a bottle of coke with a straw shoved in the top to arrive. After 40 minutes from ordering, the starter arrived and then finally after 45 minutes the mains arrived with cold chips and burnt burgers. We didn’t have time to complain and frankly the service was less than adequate. A ‘voucher’ was given to have lunch on ‘them’ but to be quite honest I won’t be returning. Very disappointed

Ok here goes....for the price.....totally average burger not gourmet burger! Although its a really good burger it should be a couple of quid cheaper. That being said,for the gluten free people out there its a real treat. The gf burgers are just as good as the normal burgers on really good quality gf bread and as all you gf know that can be pretty hard to find. So for that reason alone id recommend this place...but maybe off the cheaper lunch menu. But sadly no gf chips which is a bit of a let down. I mean how hard can it be to use a separate fryer people?

We travelled on a Friday evening to Bristol for a weekend away and needed a quick and tasty dinner! The ever reliable GBK seemed like the answer! It wasn’t the best GBK we have ever had, but it was ok, filled a hole and the service was pretty good! I opted for the Chicken Satay burger and it was just ok! I think that the burger had too much of the warm satay sauce on it, which had a very thick and gloopy consistency and left my mouth feeling extremely dry This GBK experience wasn’t the best but overall the GBK chain still provides the best burger restaurants on the British high street!

We bought burgers for the team working in the snow. My chicken burger had cheese in it for some reason and the bun was cremated. All 6 other meals were great as usual. Very appreciated that they were open in the bad weather conditions. Thank you

I was looking for a quick meal, and in Student Land (it's near to the University) this looked okay. And it promises your money back if your order doesn't arrive within 15 minutes.

I was doing a course at the folk house in Bristol (which is just down the road from here) and if we get an hour for lunch which you sometimes do on these day courses I like to try somewhere different to eat, and to get a change of scenery

Friendly from the start with efficient service. Burgers delicious as was the halloumi starter. Blue cheese coleslaw was amazing. But on the expensive side but nothing to fault. Nice buzz to the place.

Wanted something special after seeing Warhorse at the Hippodrome. Had booked a booth but unfortunately it was still in use when we arrived a little early. Antonio sorted things out quickly for us. The food was great and the kids really enjoyed it. Thank You!

We ordered the skinny chips thinking they were like the ones that you get from McDonald's, but these were even skinnier! Which meant they got cold very quickly. They are OK if ordered by kids as they liked the novelty of eating them but we...

Really poor. I ordered a burger with avacado and bacon...but the bacon was stone cold and the burger was only lukewarm. Both were returned and not much of an apology. Even when warm, it did not taste good. I would NOT recommend.

He estado en otros GBK y realmente disfrutamos de la experiencia, pero esta se siente un poco diferente. Apenas si había personal y, aunque la comida estaba bien no tienen un factor sorpresa. Wetherspoons hamburguesa y patatas fritas hubiera sido tan bonita! Mi marido tenía una hamburguesa de queso el servidor me preguntó si estaba bien preparado", "mediana que asumí que sirven sus hamburguesas (soy vegetariano) así que dije que sí, pero cuando llegó fue realmente rosado en el medio y un montón de jugo que estaba haciendo correr el pan empapadas. No era un bistec, así que no estoy seguro de por qué estaba preparado como eso. En general, estoy un poco decepcionado es la experiencia por el precio. Quick pre theatre meal. Everything was tasty, food arrived quickly, quite expensive overall but you do get good rewards on their app.

Visited with my 2 teenagers for lunch. Food was ok and came quick although hardly anyone was in at the time. 3 burger and chips and 3 drinks (2 milkshakes) came to £45 or thereabouts. Yes it was better than McD however don't think it's worth what I paid and can't see myself going back.

Visited with my son who is at Bristol Uni and took him here for lunch. Not many people in when we were at 12 noon. Service was OK but food just wasn't up to the standard I have experienced at London GBK's. Burgers looked sad and unappealing - tasted OK. Thank goodness for the L&P to cheer up a disappointing visit. Toilet access wasn't good.

Arrived after lunch with my partner and 9 month old son. Staff couldn't of been more helpful offering water etc. And explained everything to us before ordering. Food arrived and was brilliant, great quality burgers cooked perfectly as we both ordered medium rare. The baconnaise is incredible...what more can I say good food and good times and great for the family!

Shockingly bad! 4 of us came for a 'quick' pre theatre meal straight from work. You'd think this would be a relatively quiet time...there were only two other tables when we entered. Even the drinks took a time to arrive at the table but after 40mins after ordering, we enquired about the food which we were told would be 5 minutes. After 10 minutes the food arrived stone cold. After complaining they said they would re-do the food for us in 15mins which would be just enough time to get the theatre in time so we agreed. After 20 mins and starting to worry we were going to be late we were told not to worry it would be here. Another 10 minutes pasted & it arrived cold yet again! Couldn't believe it! We had no choice but to have a few mouthfuls as we didn't have enough time grab anything else. They offered a refund.

My partner and I have often visited GBK but have always previously been to the Cabot Circus venue. We got here for an early dinner on Saturday. There were only two visible staff members. When we arrived numerous tables were dirty despite it only being half full; one table of which was still not cleared by the time we left an hour and a half later! I never mind going to the bar to order but find it frustrating when you are offered something additional e.g. water for the table and then have to ask for it when the food is being served. The waitress then apologised for forgetting and I had to ask for a second time when she forgot again! We were not asked how our food was nor if we required any further drinks etc. The waitresses were pleasant enough but I was amazed at the lack of any real customer service. Food was good but tainted by a dirty atmosphere and for the 'nicer' part of town it could have been a take away in the dodgy end. I would recommend the Cabot GBK in Bristol any day.

Enjoyed an early evening meal with husband and daughter - plenty of choice and we all loved the food, especially the skinny fries! How do they make them so skinny?! Staff were really helpful and we didn't feel rushed whatsoever.

One of the best chicken burgers I have eaten to date. It was just delicious. Wanted to order another, but of course they are also super filling. The staff are kind and helpful, but the idea to sit down first and then come back to the counter to order was a bit annoying.

Me and my friend went to GBK on Park Street Bristol on a Tuesday evening and after ordering our food and drink we took a seat and waited...and waited some more. After about 15-20 minutes my drink still hadn't arrived. Upon going up to the counter, one of the girls advised me that there were only two of them on front of house and they'd get my drink to me shortly. Fair enough...but maybe worth telling your customers that when they first arrive. So I headed back to my table and shortly after my drink appeared...a nice refreshing lemongrass and ginger fizz. Our food arrived 5-10 minutes after that and it was just lukewarm. We would have sent it back but we were so hungry that we ate it. As far as I'm concerned, charging nearly £27 for two 4oz burgers, a thimble of barely warm/cold skinny fries and a few onion rings seems slightly outrageous. The food was edible but nothing special, which is a shame as I've eaten at GBK before and the food was top notch. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen staff. I'd go again...3rd time lucky perhaps!

Decided to eat here on Tuesday evening before shopping, ordered food and sat at the table. My husband and I ordered off of the lunch time special, very expensive for a 6 oz burger and fries , then had to pay for drinks , 1 small bottle of Coke 1 small coffee, total 21.00 in total which I thought was very dear. The burger however was beautiful, tasty and full of flavour. Could have done with a few more chips though.

Restaurant was quiet and we were served quickly. Usual lovely food, I opted for a chicken burger but without the bun and salad instead and sweet potato fries. Food quality and speed of service was excellent. Best burgers we've ever tasted. Highly recommend.

Booked a table for 2 as it was a Saturday so figured it would be busy. Arrived on time, but seems they didnt remember we book our table and there was no tables available.... terrible! So we had to wait in que with other people that wanted a table.super overpriced, tiny bottles of coke! Absolutely making a mass profit on selling them. I ordered the taxi driver or something along those lines. The burger was so dry yet was cooked medium as it had some redness in the middle.... yet dry and warm ! My blokes burger was the same just warm his sweet potato fries were cold! So we asked the lady to bring some more...she didnt look best pleased we asked for fresh hot chips. i had some sort of cheesy chips... they were pretty good but not hot, just warm and a teeny tiny bowl of about 7 chips and some cheese sauce on top! We are big fans of trying new burger places but never coming here again! Piss poor food and over priced for what you get! Hobgoblin are still winning to this day! Anyone not been?! GO! amazing huge burgers and try the dirty dirty fries!

I have visited this site several times with family and my wife and I alone, as well as about 7 different GBK locations in various cities. This site had low stocks on various cheeses for burgers. The burgers were overcooked and fries not hot enough. Overall massively underwhelming service too at their premium pricing. Staffed by students who seem to think service levels don't matter when market may be largely students with wealthy parents. Management need to tighten up oversight on this branch for rest of their market.... will reconsider before visiting this one again.

Came here with my seven year old daughter and wife before a concert. Quick but tastey meal. The veggie Californian burger was really delicious. Skinny fries were pointless in my view - completely flavourless - but maybe that's what people like. The baconaise was an abomination, a flavour never to be repeated if I live to be a thousand. Service was perfunctory but the burger was good of that there is no doubt.

Went along for a Burger with the other half. Recently downloaded the GBK app which helpfully notified me that this month burgers are two for £10. The staff seated us quickly, explained which burgers were included on the offer (most of them) and left us to it. Once we ordered the service was quick and easy, the food was delicious and the staff were happy to help. Our salted caramel milkshake was particularly good.I was really pleased to see a woman come in with her partner, child and baby and ask about breast feeding too. There was no fuss about this whatsoever, she was given a table where she could feed subtly if she wanted to, and food was warmed up without fuss from the staff. Great to see this happening easily, without drama for the mother!

Visited on weekend in Bristol. Service was somewhat lacking having had to repeat the order three times. Staff never appeared overly interested. Burgers arrived as that, just a burger on a plate with no other accompaniments. £55 for 4 basic burgers, all burnt on outside and medium cooked in centre. Won't be returning to this or any other gbk.

The manager was extremely attentive and made our visit very enjoyable and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend downloading the GBK app for discounts!

Visited this GBK on a Sunday lunchtime with a large group. The restaurant was basically empty when we arrived so the staff were quick to greet us and push a few tables together to accommodate us all.Food was served fairly promptly but didn't all come out at once. One of the burgers was ordered well done but was unfortunately burnt around the edges. Skinny fries were very skinny but nice. The milkshakes were all great.Around £15 per head - not expensive but not cheap for what it is.

This is my second visit to GBK on Park Street and a once again it was fantastic. I'm a big fan of my burgers and this one tops the lot!Firstly the staff are really friendly and helpful - they really help make the experience enjoyable. The restaurant itself is not that big so I can understand that at peak times it could be fairly busy, but I went at lunchtime on a Sunday and was seated straight away. The food is out of this world, so many great choices it's hard to not have more than one! Perfectly cooked and just a pleasure to eat. The sides are also brilliant - the sweet potato fries and onion rings are phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough, my only regret is that I don't live in the area so I can't go more often!

There is a wide variety of choices for things to eat and everyone on the table really enjoyed the food. Particular highlight is the insanely tasty sauces. Dipping the sweet potato chips into the blue cheese sauce is something to remeber! Also great to have free refills on some of the drinks!!

It's true - The Billy Burger is back! And with it on a sunny bank holiday weekend the staff, who presumably would rather be outside enjoy it too, showed no signs of this! I was seated and served quickly and the curly red haired lady on the till helped make recommendations that improve my meal. The waitress who served me was smiley and I felt like the staff genuinely gave a great service. A credit to the GBK chain. Until next time..

Went back to GBK after a few years. Forgot how good the burgers were. Went for the vegetarian option and it was very satisfying.

Not knowing quite what to expect, I was dragged here by my daughter. And pleasantly surprised! Loads of food, very modern, but tasty. She loved it and wants to go there for her birthday - that's a good recommendation in my book

Just returned from lunch at the GBK, Park St, Bristol and it was reasonable enough, but nothing more than that.The service was good, our waiter was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu.You order the food yourself at a desk by the kitchen, this means your burger is cooked to order.We had a cheeseburger, bacon burger and two drinks for £25. Not expensive but not cheap either, and the quality of the burgers was merely OK.What didn't impress us was the service given to the young couple on the next table to ours. When the waitress delivered their order she knocked over onto their table a side portion of fries. She quickly replaced the fries with a fresh portion, but didn't tidy away the discarded ones - they were just left on the table - very sloppy.

After walking up Park Street from the Harbour we decided on eating at the GBK here in the Clifton area- warm welcome, friendly staff and tasty food -couldn't fault it! Very nice ambience too! Would definitely eat there again.

First time to gbk and it was great burgers were cooked really well and chunky chips and skinny fries were good had cheese and bacon burger and it tasted really good great quality meat used had vanilla milkshake which was delicious only downside is they didn't ask how I wanted my burger and it came out medium but I don't mind medium but some people preference are different but will go again worth the money

I had a burger of the special called the Bah humberger. This was very tasty and filling topped of with a lovely milkshake. However was expensive for what you get. The room was very basic and uninteresting so a lack of ambiance.

Excellent burgers, but considering the cramped, noisy interior and having to queue and order at the till it is expensive. Other places have proper table service for similar prices or less. £65 for 4 burgers, fries and drinks for 4.

These days there are tonnes of places doing really really good burgers in Bristol and so GBK doesn't really stand out as amazing or terrible, it's just pretty good. What does make it stand out are the amazing dips for the chips/frys; bacon Mayo, smoked chilli Mayo, aoli etc - all of which are great. They offer regular discounts to so, if you can tolerate dining amongst Bristol Uni's burger aficionados then this could be the spot for you.

My daughter set up an account online with Gourmet Burger at home so that we could order a takeaway. I drove to the Gourmet Burger to pick them up--2 burgers with fries almost £19 !!The deal for setting up an online account said that you could get a free sauce. When I was handed my takeaway I asked what the free sauce was and was told that I could only get it if I showed her the app that I used to place the order. I said that my daughter had set it up at home and I didn't have an app. After some discussion the server reluctantly decided to give me a free sauce. What was all the unpleasantness about--really, there were 2 tsps. at the most in the container. I had paid £19 for a takeaway. Bad attitude and over expensive--do they really expect customers to go back when they make you feel like a piece of dirt. No thank you GBK. Not for me.

We ate here for an early supper. We paid about £9 each for burgers - fries are extra. The burgers were OK, but nothing special. You have to go up to the counter to order and pay, like at McDonald's. They bring the food to the table. I had a "naked" burger which had coleslaw and salad instead of a bun. For 2 burgers, no fries, a beer and a shake it cost almost £30. It seemed overpriced. The banana shake wasn't made with real bananas, I suspect. For £4 I'd expect it to be. There was a children's party which made it very noisy. We went elsewhere for coffee and pudding.

On arriving at the restaurant, the staff were friendly and happily seated us. They explained that to order you had to go up and give your table number. After making my order and sitting back down, I realised I had given the wrong table number. I immediately went back up with my receipt to explain this. The three waitresses looked at me as a complete inconvenience and were so unhappy to help! I could not believe the response they gave me. It was like it was too much hard work to correct it. Really bad customer service. My burger then came 10 minutes after everyone else's - with no acknowledgement or apology of this. I enjoyed the lamb burger and sweet potato fries I had. Although I do think it is very over priced for what it is! Although the food was nice, I was disappointed with the service and would unfortunately not return or recommend.

We went here for a quick bite..... it was anything but, I was not impressed by the quality or the price, and its fair to say I wish I had gone to the spud place opposite and will not be returning!!

The burgers are okay but found it a little bit pricey for the food. Nothing against the place but I don't think I would spend my money for this place. I could probably spend the amount of money on a more classy restaurant. The servers were nice, though.

Decided to give GBK a visit on sunday as we walk past all the time and my daughter does love a burger and a milkshake. On arrival we were seated quickly and the waitress explained the process quick and efficiently. This is where it started to go downhill. No music playing to start with which helps set the atmosphere, it felt like a funeral at times. Food came out well before our drinks...the food looked ordinary served on a side plate and my salad was so small not worth the money, we have to remind them about our fries and also our milkshakes...they eventually came half way through our food. The waiter apologies but no check back and the whole place lacked atmosphere. There are better places for burgers around such as "burger joint" and Byron. On leaving none of the three staff who were chatting even looked up to say goodbye, if you can't nail the service you will struggle

Main reason for giving low score was the unhygienic wooden tables which were very rustic sure but despite being sprayed with antibacterial spray still had bits of food and crumbs stuck in the grooves - Tyuk! The staff were v friendly Burgers chips and burger buns all fairly average perhaps they think a wooden skewer going through the lot makes more tasty theMmakes it gourmet . My kids persuaded us to try this place out for lunch. I have to be honest, I don't really eat burgers and fancied a proper restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted kindly and shown to a large table which was more than ample for our needs. Then you have to look at the menu and try to understand how things work as to what's available and how you order. The going to the counter to order etc was a bit clumsy as you had to try and remember what everyone's order is (would have been better if someone came to the table to take the order). However, once our various choices arrived, which varied from vegetarian to lamb to beef, each of us were blown away by how good these things tasted. An absolute delight and worth paying that little but extra.

GBK is one of the best burgers in Bristol! I get the chicken one with mozzarella and brie! Try the onion rings and skinny chips and of course the strawberry elderflower lemonade! Great value for money - especially with the iPhone app or the Student Discount!

Went there for the first time celebrate my son's 11th birthday. Excellent choice of burgers, served speedily. No limit refills of certain fizzy drinks.

It is a tasty burger but I would say it is overpriced. I tend to only eat here when they have an offer of 2 for £10 and then I think it is a decent price for what I receive.

Ok so me and my family love this place, we live in a Bristol and come here all the time as it's not too far away from home. My daughter is a little fidgety so we always call and book the round booth so she doesn't run off every 10mins and they always accommodate and try to make it free for us upon arrival. She doesn't eat much so we don't order her anything, she just nibbles through ours but they offer her crayons and pencils to do some colouring etc to keep her entertained. The food is lovely and the Persian lamb and panko crumbed chicken being halal adds to this place being our usual.We use the app which gives us free stuff from time to time like burgers or free sides etc which helps if your buying loads. (my hubby can eat) Service is great, they always come and check during meals if you need anything else or if everything's OK. I agree with some statements about going up to order. It just seems more restaurant style so maybe a waiter service could be incorporated. Other then that the strawberry milkshake is lovely and really fills you up. Thank you gbk for being our fav

The Pizza Express down the road was not taking card payments, so we had to go here as a last resort.The menu on the outside was smashed, inside the seating area was tiny and a cramp to say the least.The ordering procedure is ridiculous; I don't want to go up and order like in a fast food outlet, this is allegedly a restaurant. The food was ridiculous limited, and fries had to be ordered separately - surely this is a staple of burgers?!The food took an absolute age to come, although it still came before our drinks (which were just water), an absolute joke. The food was disgusting: greasy, soggy, burnt or raw and just generally looked like it had been taken out of the bin!The "restaurant" was dirty, and looked horrible - the staff were clearlu struggling to cope.The worst part was the staggering cost for such a poor service, certainly not somewhere I would go again.

Traveling with small children can be a challenge food wise so we stopped here because it was a long time since breakfast for the kids and too long until our dinner reservation to make them wait. The kids had burgers, I had a hot tea. The liked their meals just fine but it seemed pretty pricey.

Have visited GBK before and the food suits everyone in our family, which includes a gastro buff, a veggie, a health freak and a fussy teenager who wont touch vegetables. The staff in this branch were great, good friendly service, and the booth seating was ideal for the family.

GBK is in a very central position in Park Street Bristol, just up the road from the Cathedral and down the road from the oldest part of the University and Museum.We visited on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately with very attentive staff keen to ensure we knew the ropes for ordering. Food arrived very promptly. Burger was scrummy and the rosemary fries tasty. Always good to add more sauces. Window seats give you a good view of the passing pedestrian life of Park Street while you sip your fresh and fizzy drink for which you get a free refill.Well worth a visit although the downside is that Bristol charges on parking meters until 8pm and then a reduced rate until midnight so make sure you have some loose change for the parking meters!

Now I am usually sceptical about chains, but this GBK should be an example to all the disappointing generic chains, as alluded to in previous reviews.The staff, today, were magnificent seating within seconds, a menu and ordering within 2 minutes. The food arrived, and was good, within 10 minutes.The experience was capped off by two fantastic staff, one of the staff was particularly brilliant. She was friendly and asked if I was okay, etc. when I arrived, a nice personal touch.

There are a lot of people who see GBK as overpriced, and I do understand where they are coming from - you have to pay for sides separate to the burgers, so things can get a bit expensive. Having said that I have the free phone app and get so many free burger/side vouchers quite often that it makes it worthwhile.Personally I think the burgers are amazing. I am not sure what the moaners are ordering - but I've heard people moan before about paying for "just a cheeseburger"... Well don't buy just a cheeseburger then!! There are some really good options on the menu (although they've recently removed the cajun blue, my heart is broken, bring it back!) So instead of ordering a regular burger get something a little different.The sides are awesome; skinny fries are epic, halloumi bites with spicy kiwi sauce (nom) and my new favourite sweet potato fries with baconaise. Whoever invented baconaise should be given a knighthood.At this particular GBK they refurbed it about 9-12 months ago and it's pretty nice inside - nothing special, but then I don't know what people expect from it to be honest.The staff at this one are always really nice too - usually good service and the few times I've had poor service they immediately apologised and gave me a refund/freebie.I go to this GBK quite a lot for lunch, as I work in Bristol. Have not been for dinner, by have been to others for dinner. It's good for both....and very very filling!

There is no wait service , you order and pay at the bar. The food was overpriced for the quality, I had chicken, the quality was indifferent to say the least. Some of the family had the meat burgers which in fairness, were a slight cut above a fast food takeaway.The chips were cheap frozen type and very disappointing.The dips were very good and the salad was ok.Overall I did not enjoy the experience and would not return.

visited GBK on park street this evening purely because i had vouchers for free food (after my last visit i saw a rat run out of the kitchen, but was assured by the manager that the restaurant was very clean.) The restaurant was fairly dated and could do with a refurbish, or just a sweep for that matter as the floor was covered in nut shells and other rubbish, seats had food on them and atmosphere was a little boring.However after my visit tonight i am not so sure, i rang in the day to reserve a table but when i arrived was told i have to wait for a table. We were then pointed to our seat across the restaurant to sit down, however i then had to get up and ask for menus and not simply given them by a member of staff. The waitress that came over with the menu was shy and didnt really seem like she knew what was going on -however very sweet. When ordering both myself and my boyfriend asked for items in our burgers, "on the side" just incase we didnt like it, this was SUGGESTED by the man serving behind the bar. After a fairly long ordering process repeating our order several times we had finished ordering. Drinks arrived at our table promptly and the milkshake was lovely. Starter also arrived promptly and was ok. When our burgers arrived a few mins later they looked very impressive however neither of the burgers had taken out what we had asked for, we were a little unsure about if to send it back or not however for the price we might as well have! The waiter realised that there was something wrong with our food and changed it for us with no fuss (well if u call pealing off the cheese and replacing it with new cheese minus the avocado replacing it then it did the job i guess) Food was lovely, staff were good, hygiene was appalling, was a little pricey- can't say i will be returning only thing that pushed it out of 1* was the food & one waiter.

We're basically talking about a basic burger and chips. It tasted fresh the bun was nice but nothing special. The skinny chips weren't much better than McDonald's fries. We paid almost £40 between us and it was cramped in the place we waited ages for drinks and the tables were so close we felt we had to speak in hushed tones or otherwise it felt that everybody was listening to our conversation. We certainly wouldn't go again.

Me and my husband used to enjoy Gourmet Burger.And then all of a sudden the menu and pricing changed and we were left feeling hard done by.Gone is the simple option to choose a meal: burger,chips,drink with one set price.By the time you have ordered your burger, then added chips and any other toppings,plus your drink - the price has racked up and you realised you've paid over the odds for a simple burger and chips and small coke.I could understand it if this was anything but a bog standard burger and chips.We will not be returning,

The service in this place is always amazing! The food ain't half bad either! Definitely have to have a milkshake even if I might go pop at the end!

Fabulous central location on Park Street just up the hill from the Cathedral. On-street, paid parking immediately outside. Bristol is not cheap for parking and charges apply here until about 8pm.Usual format for GBK - choose your seat, check out the menu and order at the counter. They have now started doing a few specials which represent better value for money. Good range of accompaniments and the free refills for some drinks make this even better value for money.Pleasant staff. A couple of steps down into the dining area; great picture windows to gaze at passers-by or the often stationary traffic!

We ate here as a fairly large group on a Saturday night - no problem. The food was good quality and the service was excellent.

I have been a couple times to GBK and never been disappointed. The burger are delicious and you got a good choice of different original combinations. I always go for the Classic Cheese and I love it. The skinny fries (unique to GBK) are amazing! But what makes GBK truly amazing for me is their Vanilla Milkshake which is truly...hmm..orgasmic ;-) Would highly recommend it.Enjoy xx

I went here with my girlfriend this evening as a bit of a last resort. We had been here a while back and remember it being pricey, but the restaurant we were originally heading for was full, and GBK was empty (in hindsight this is unsurprising).We had a burger each, and were quickly reminded that fries come separately. We ordered 1 small portion of fries and a portion of onion rings, with two bottles of diet coke. This came to £31!!!!!!!That's 2 burgers, 1 small portion of fries, 1 portion of onion rings, and two soft drinks! £31!In terms of quality, I'm not sure if GBK have looked out their window lately, but a good burger isn't that hard to come by these days- they are literally everywhere! Yet, I was served an average burger that could honestly of been made in a GCSE food technology mock exam. To charge over £9 for a burger on its own is more than audacious ... It felt like an insult when our food was delivered. Our side orders were greasy and pathetic and just topped off this farce of a dining experience. Service was poor, but It felt as though they were short staffed (despite being very quiet).I get the feeling that GBK will struggle to see any returning customers ( with sense) over a short space of time and will soon be just the memory as 'that over priced burger place'.It's fair to say that I will not be returning, and will do my utmost to recommend one of the other hundreds of restaurants in bristol where you can order a delicious burger without the embarrassment of having your pants pulled down.

The restaurant itself is pretty horrid - greasy floors; dirty tables; food on chairs etc. The staff were friendly enough, and the food was served promptly, but the overall experience is tainted by the surroundings.

Tiny (but tasty) chicken burger, greasy frozen chips and a drink which cost over £11.50. Tables crammed together. Friendly but disorganised staff. Will not be returning to one of these chain burger places.

I had heard good things, so thought we would eat here, How wrong they were.We were shown to a table only to then be told to move as someone else was sitting there even though they were nowhere to be seen.The tables were squashed in and dirty. We ordered our food and told them our table no and were told we were incorrect and it was a different table number.We decided to also tell the waitress that they had taken our table number down wrongly and she went to tell them. Our drinks and food went to the wrong tables and this also happened to everyone around us.The food was ok if not a little bit cold.

Just average. lunch menu is a rip off as portions really small. Chips just about warm. Really not worth the money and toilets needed a good clean!

Pleasant enough burgers but with all the "add ons" it's certainly not good value for money. The lay-out is extremely tight, very much feel like you have to eat and go quickly. Most disappointing - won't be going for a second visit!

Visited this place as it's always offering deals on Vouchercloud(well worth joining). It was two burgers for £10.. But having never of been to Gourmet Burger before I didn't realise you had to pay for fries and sides on top as nothing is included, even without the Vouchercloud deal. To put it bluntly, yes the burger was very yummy, but I don't think I would pay £5 for just a burger again let alone £8-£12 at normal price.

I do agree with other reviewers that the seating area is way too small with about ten tables in an area smaller than my kitchen (which isn't very big). This was especially noticeable as a large group arrived at the same time we did and took over most of the space, with servers forcing all the other seated (and already eating) couples to move to fit them in. It was a bit Mad Hatters Tea Party to be honest. Fine for a quick meal, but I can't say I would want to spend too much time in there. The queue was massive so I can't help thinking it would make more sense for servers to take the orders, especially as we frequently saw them standing around doing nothing. There were also a number of tables that hadn't been cleared and we saw people arriving and having to do it themselves (with servers standing around). The food was excellent; the burgers lived up to expectation and the milkshakes were amazing. We got one of the lunch deals so it wasn't that expensive either. Great food, poorly designed space.

The restaurant has been refurbished so that it is so cramped customers can sit on each other's laps. Not good, clearly designed to maximise profit rather than eating experience. The burgers, being totally ubiquitous everywhere, don't stack up any more to what's on offer elsewhere. I do hate having to go and queue up to place my order; if I wanted to do that I'd go to Burger King, whose burgers, based on my experience here in GBK, are on a par. When the burger came, it was terribly ordinary and the chips were cold and flavourless. The restaurant was also filthy dirty, with smeared tables, debris on the banquettes and on the floor, even on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Never again.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday and found the place dirty, the floor obviously hadn't been swept all night and we were shown to our table only to find it dirty and not cleaned from the last people. The burger was ok but overpriced and wouldn't rush back any day soon.

Friendly staff, free nuts and £23 for two- skinny fries were a bit of a disappointment, more than the same meal in Burger King but you get a nicer environment, better choice of drinks and tastier burger, pays your money takes your choice, wouldn't recommend for a dining experience or if you fancied eating anything other than a burger, There should be a choice between average and very good on the click boxes because this is good, but not very good especialy considering the price

when we walked in it was cold and felt very empty. me and my boyfriend both work as chefs and we thought we'd treat ourselves to a burger out as we'd just moved to the area. it was disappointing and i would never recommend it to a friend,saying this....all my friends say the GBK in Cabot Circus is amazing....how can they be so different if its a chain?
