Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Norwich

It was okay. I think it suited our needs whilst being out in town shopping and needing some lunch. Wasn't too keen on the blue cheese coleslaw or onion rings. My friend liked his double cheeseburger, but it only had one slice of cheese in it, I had a chicken burger, and it was okay.

I won't go in because your extractor fan is soooo noisy it upsets the ambience outside your restaurant. Any chance you can make it quieter?

We came for lunch on Saturday here, lovely spot - restaurant itself is quite small so had to wait ten minutes for a table however no issue as it was a busy Saturday. Waiting staff were great, we ordered a double smash burger, Korean bbq chicken burger and kids smash burger meal. Value for money is exceptional and the food was cooked perfectly. The milkshakes are definitely a must! Will definitely be returning to this place!

Such a great experience. Visited with my mum and 1 year old, as any parent would know with a child that young it can be tough eating out! All of the staff couldn’t have been nicer, and so helpful. We did almost leave before ordering as the chicken tenders were no longer on the menu and that’s one of the few things my little one will nibble on. Thankfully the staff were amazing and said they could do them and they should be coming back on the menu…happy days! Food was great, nicely cooked and tasted great, the smash burgers were unbelievably good. I’d like to thank the chef for doing the chicken for my little girl, life saver, and the lovely waitress that put her order through separately so it could cool down before coming to the table, you are a hero! Hospitality staff don’t always get the acknowledgment they deserve and I just wanted you to know you’re appreciated. Yes you can get a cheaper burger at McDonalds but sometimes it’s about the place and experience. We really enjoyed our visit.

Nice place to have lunch. Burger was good, cooked the way we requested as shown on the photo. I try to take photos as it looks in reality so it's not misleading. The place have a good ambience too with great attentive staff.

I have been a few times now. Usually l have a beef burger. These are always very tasty, but not very big and expensive for the size. Today l had the chicken burger. Well small is an under statement ! £11 for the burger only is extremely expensive. I am not a big eater, but this certainly would not fill you up. I will not be rushing back.

Food was cold and burgers bland. Hardly any chips. They used to be my favourite but wouldn’t recommend now. Such a shame as it used to be delicious.

ordered a meal for 2, other persons burger came completely fine and hot although they forgot his fries, my burger came completely wrong with no sauce or pickles or lettuce and completely freezing cold. very disappointing considering the price, going to mcdonalds would have been more worth the money.

Not only have they removed the sweet potato fries (their best side by a mile) from the menu, but the chunky fries were unseasoned and tasteless. Also, thought I would try one of their smash burgers; it wasn't just tough and dry, but it was literally half the size of any other burger on the market and for the same high price. Really not impressed with GBK, who used to be the best, but no longer. Would not recommend. At least the onion rings were still good.

Menu seems to be more limited for vegetarians. They were short staffed on the evening that we were there. It was explained but...

So I’ve been there twice. The service was terrible so slow and another time I tried ordering on the app and they lost my meal not great

Absolutely fantastic experience at GBK Norwich! The burgers were bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Went early evening, despite there being very few customers the service was slow. We could see the fries were ready 5 minutes before the burgers. The water jug was dirty and luke warm. Floor was sticky. Burgers were very good though.

Restorant corner table was dirty. I clean with my personal wipes. Burgers and cold drinks was really delicious but maybe little bit too expencive, but still recommend! 🍔🍹👍

Ate at the Norwich GBK last weekend and was very disappointed. I’ve eaten at GBK many times but this was the first time since their new menu. Well, GBK has been hit by shrinkflation and lost all value. The burgers are now tiny compared to before and none of the deals on the menus run at the weekend. On top of that one of the chefs decided to take his lunch break at peak lunch time with a full restaurant. We had to wait for a ridiculous amount of time for two sad looking burgers and some sides. I won’t visit again and will be going to Five Guys instead.

My Mrs burger was stone cold, her chicken wings were also quite cold, my burger was bang average and my chips were a bit soggy and stodgy not crispy and fluffy. Food quality was that of a cheap fast food shop, but of course had restaurant prices. Paid £40 for what I could’ve got for £15 at any cheap kebab shop. Just go to Fiveguys don’t waste your money.

My first ever visit to gourmet burger kitchen while on holiday visiting my son in norwich, he recommended we go there and I was not disappointed,very good and filling meals.

Great value! The gourmet burger kitchen is my type of place, proper food for proper prices! I had been excited to go here for a few days and it was certainly worth the wait, lovely staff who were smiling and even took the time to help us get our small baby situated. Something all establishments should do!! On to the food: I ordered the classic chicken burger with panko crispy chicken, a generously sized piece of chicken topped with lettuce, tomato and a perfect blend of sweet tomato relish and mayonnaise. This relish was no joke as I even got a side of it to dip my halloumi bites into :) Furthermore, the sides were awesome and with the 3 for £10 deal they were a no brainer! We selected the halloumi bites, chicken tenders and onion rings all 10/10 in their own rights. Onion rings aren’t usually my go to but these were excellent with a crispy batter and yummy inside! All together for 3 adults we only spent £50 and were left full and very pleased! Would definitely recommend if you’re craving a proper burger!

Good experience..chicken is halal. Vibe is lovely and so is service. Food was tasty and fresh. Portion is a little small though. Ordered chicken burgers and chicken tenders.. both were delicious. Paid 28 quid for 2 chicken burgers and 3 tender strips with mayo garlic sause...

Simple burger cooked well! 1 rocket man and 1 Korean bbq chicken. Onion rings were amazing and sweet potatoes fries were great.

Updated June 2024. This is close to the centre of Norwich by a shopping centre. Visited again and chose from the separate gluten free menu. I had a gluten free burger which was in a gluten free bun with an allergy flag on it. Advised chips were not safe for Coeliacs so had a Slaw to go with it. Burgers were good but felt the cheese option was limited, no blue cheese anymore. The place was clean and staff friendly. Toilets are upstairs but there is a lift if you have limited mobility.

It's a nice atmosphere but about the food, it was less than I thought

I ordered a Rocket Man burger (well done) and a simple salad, both were very nice indeed. The burger stayed inside the bun while I was eating it which was good. I had a Brooklyn Lager to drink which was very nice. Well worth paying the extra money to dine in here over a McDonalds or a Burger King.

My burger was delicious. Service was good. Well worth the visit. Will go again soon.

GBK is a great restaurant offering high-quality burgers and fries at a reasonable price. As a student, I appreciate the discount, making it even more affordable for my partner and me. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant has a nice decor and atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to eat in Norwich!

I ordered my usual takeaway bacon and cheese 🍔 burger with gluten free bun and skin on fries. Order was swift and very thankful I couldbget a takeaway tea in my flask as was going home via train that evening

Went for a family birthday treat, and was not disappointed, the food was excellent probably the best classic burger ever not over filled and full of bits, burger cooked to how you want, relish not much else but the taste, others had Korean chicken burger again well vooked full of taste, a large selection of different fries, yry the truffle ones and the onion rings whst can I say the service was great, all together a great time was had by everyone.

The staff were welcoming and the food was perfect couldnt ask for a better burger restaurant. Reminds me of the food from america

Definitely the best burgers of any of this type of restaurant. Service ok and fitted a table of 4 in without a booking on a Saturday afternoon noon. Price wise I would class as reasonable for this type of establishment.

Good service, good consistent quality at a sensible price, and the place is always well maintained. I'm more comfortable looking into the clean kitchen rather than guessing what happens at other chains

I suffer with a wheat intolerance, when I told the staff this, they were so helpful, giving me a GF menu, asking me if I was cealeac or have an intolerance. I have never been in a restaurant before where the staff knew about food intolerance's.

Visited for lunch while visiting Norwich, seated quickly and restaurant not too busy considering it was half term. Drinks and food order taken quickly and manager very pleasant guy. Drinks came out quickly and not much of a wait for the food. Truffle fries were great and all the food was hot and tasty, all very good recommend a visit

Was served by the amazing Laz this evening evening, the food was perfectly cooked. But the best part of the service was from Laz, he interacted with my 3 year old boy, showed interest I what he was doing. Checked on us enough that we wernt ignored. Would definitely fo back.

Odd. They have offers such as 3 sides for £9. They also do a student discount of 20%. I expected that offer items would be excluded from the student discount but full price items would be subject to the discount. Instead, they 'competed' on the bill and the end result was that my discount was useless. Unfortunately, I think this is intentional. Not okay. As for the actual experience, I would say it was a nice meal. Expect to pay £20-25 per person for a drink, a main and a side. Service was quite slow really and the waiter was neutral. The food was of good quality and enjoyable but you are paying £10-£15 for a burger without any sides, salad or drink. Bit of a poor showing really when so many places nearby actually do legitimate lunchtime deals. Tried one of their vegan burgers, it was a good option for any veggies. They do seem to put some effort into it. They do £7 for a burger and fries, but the impression we got is that burger is basically a cheeseburger. Could be wrong. Doubt it though. Good (not gourmet) food, gourmet prices. No rush to go back.

Lovely meal, good service, lovely and there were a lot of us, atmosphere was a little flat but it was a Monday night and we were the only ones upstairs and it was a bit cold but they did turn the heating up when I asked, probably very different atmosphere on a Friday/sat night.

Our burgers were excellent - a classic with British cheddar and a classic naked (no bun but with salad). There is the right amount of burger, bun, salad and source so it isn’t greasy, falling apart and dripping fat. Many burgers fail on this front as they try to chuck everything in. Sweet potato fries were also great.

Burger was nice enough, disappointed that it didn't come with fries. Left slightly hungry with an underlying feeling that I'd just been robbed.

Visited over 20 times and never a bad experience, very prompt service, fantastic food and great loyalty scheme.

Very mediocre, certainly wouldn't bother again, burger was nothing special and didn't even come with chips, you have to pay for everything separately, had better food and service from other American style restaurants at a cheaper price

Its nice enough but rather overpriced in my opinion

The place was not busy, so they should have been able to deliver a good standard. The burgers were brought to the table, and the sides and fries/chips were served second. Every portion of Fries/chips was lukewarm, almost cold. In addition to this, a staff member walked through the restaurant carrying bin bags of waste/rubbish or broken-down cardboard packaging. This was not just once but on three separate occasions with approximately 20-minute intervals. Who wants to see that going past you when you are having a meal?

Unhelpful, meh! The one in Jubilee Place also the same, thought I'd give the Norwich one a try.

Ordered for delivery but was baffled by the standard of the food considering it used to be so good. Not sure why there was barely any truffle mayo on the truffle fries and my burger was a touch too pink for medium It didn’t look that great for the amount I spent!

Came for the first time today for my boyfriends birthday dinner and we cannot express how good this place was! It is amazing! We were greeted with a lovely hello and shown to our seats even though we were 30 minutes early for our reservation! Food was delicious and just the right amount too! Some of the best burgers we’ve had in a good while! Service was amazing and the app was very easy to use too! Atmosphere was just perfect too! Cannot sing this places praise enough!!

First time trying gbk! I got the Rocket Man burger with an extra patty cooked medium rare. With their new Truffle Fries and Chicken Tenders. The burger was really nice, good quality, super tender and juicy. Definitely would recommend doubling up on getting 2 patties. The fries were really nice too, they were soft but also crispy. Personally I didn’t like the chicken tenders, the seasoning wasn’t right and they were oily. Lastly I ordered some sauces too. Truffle Mayo, Blue cheese, Garlic Mayo and Chipotle Mayo. My favourite was the Chipotle Mayo. All really good seasoning and flavours! The serve was brilliant but the food took a little while to come. Overall I would rate it a 8/10.

Came to this resturant a little while back and the standard of cleanliness was shocking. Our table actually had mould growing on it! Staff were not too bothered when we pointed this out and no offer of discount or moving table.

Food was amazing today with the special offer price 9 £ was worth to try it for first time. Deal was enough for me . 2 bad thinks happened in terms of customer service first the waiter refused to let as go to second floor with out reservation?! ( 80% was empty) so dumb . The second thing in bills the didn’t apply the offer until I told them to do so ( she tried to avoid this like the money goes to her account!!)

I actually really enjoyed my food here and our server Fliss was brilliant. Cute decor and very clean too. Recommend the onion rings they are delicious.

Great refillable lemonade on a sunny day

I came in and asked for Tap Water as I just got my phone repaired at Apple at the Chantry Mall next door, and couldn’t use contactless and I had to walk home to get some ID for them as I don’t drive, and I was exhausted, and a chap called Luke was more then happy to help me I’ll remember him Thank you Luke Bless you! Update: I’ve set my phone up now so next time I can actually pay! Lol!

The highlight of this place is milkshades. If you want a really good milkshade, this is the place to go. They are thick and heavy. Apart from that, Chicken Tenders are very good, you can lick your fingers off. I feel that the burger was the weakest point of the lunch, but it was still a great burger to have. There is a lot of natural light and feels very open. Also, thanks for the complementary drink for our birthday girl. Good place to stop by if you are around.

Enjoyable, but not gourmet by a long shot. Vegan burger fell apart, burger felt like it was missing something (no tomatoes or salad other than two slices of onion and lettuce), partner asked for medium burger, got well done. Agreed that the burger (despite being meat), was very lackluster for the price. However onion rings and goujons were fab and chips too. But that's all probably frozen and fried so can't go wrong, all the fresh stuff was disappointing! Server's were lovely and the ambiance was nice. You'll have to opt for a more expensive burger if you like something with some texture and flavour

Nice burgers. Staff are attentive and trying hard. BUT... the company policy seems to be to prioritise deliveroo orders over diners at tables. After ordering I was told of a half hour wait due to the large number of take away orders. GBK you have your priorities wrong, either give your diners some respect or close the restaurant and just do take away.

A little pricey compared to other burger options but you pay for the good quality. If you have the extra to spare for a meal its definitely worth it. The fries are so good!

This is the best GBK I have ever been to in the country, comparing it to the many sites I've been to in London. I always get the panko chicken burgers and it's simply the best - while being crunchy and flavoursome it melts in your mouth. It's reliably good and always high-quality, and as it should, the meat carries the burgers. All the flavours in the burger work really well together to come up with a delicious bite every time that I have to savour. And the chocolate milkshakes are just legendary. 10/10, they also melt in your mouth and are rich in taste. The seating area is also comfortable and they have sofas upstairs. Even through delivery, the burger remains very hot which is so nice. When leaving Norwich to go back to London, I've taken away GBK burgers from here before for the journey back, because that's how much better the GBK in Norwich is.

The food was lovely. but the service was incredibly slow. Staff were very friendly, it just took too long to be served. I appreciate it was relatively busy, but even so we shouldn't have been kept waiting for as long as we were. One thing I will say is I noticed often the staff were struggling to identify which burger was which when serving to customers.

First time going here. Hadn't planned on going here but we were in a rush, the service was quick and the staff are so friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! So glad we went there and we plan to return very soon. The chicken satay burger was unreal, 10/10.

I don't eat out much at all as I try to avoid processed food as much as I can, but this is usually our go-to place because food is always great and we have never been disappointed.

Had lunch here a week ago and had a great experience. Food was good, atmosphere was relaxed and our waitress Fliss was outstanding. She made our day better, great service, fun, ultra efficient! If the world was run by Fliss it would be a better place! GBK you hired a keeper!
