Bought 3 fish and chips 2 weeks ago and it was great. Today we bought fish and chips which were terrible and curry sauce no taste. My son had kebab which the meat was like rubber and the chips were horrible along with the garlic sauce. What a waste of £25 . Everything went into the bin. Never again and the whole lot was cold.

I had an amazing meal of peri peri chicken with rice. The taste was fantastic, and the restaurant was very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those living in Byker!

I recently enjoyed a veg pizza and chips with mayonnaise here, and they were delicious. The place is clean and well-maintained

Fish was grey and mushy and not cheap for the pleasure!

£6 For a small tray of donor meat and chip's no thanks rip off no wonder they have put this on Facebook marketplace to rent no wonder it's always empty don't even going there I had to give it 1 star as there is zero star rating 😉

Went in twice last week food both times was outstanding very nice and the place is so clean highly recommended

Meals arrived earlier than expected, delivery driver was pleasant and friendly. We ordered 2 fish and chips they arrived hot and tasted delicious, fish was a decent size and the chips were proper potatoes

Best fish & chips I have had in the Newcastle first time here with family it was amazing try perri perri chicken with rice and mix kebab it was super tasty &staff was great…Highly recommend coming here

Avoid at all costs. Chips still hard and battered sausage undercooked. Shop was empty so it wasn't a case of them rushing. We left it all.

Lovely Fish & Chips. Enjoyed every mouthful, including the mushy peas and curry sauce very tasty. No grease, No greasy taste left in mouth. Staff very friendly, and along with their full menu there's plenty to try. Website easy to navigate and order from, and loved the fact I could pick what time I wanted it to be in Will definitely be ordering again.

Great service and great, friendly people. We ordered a large cod and 2 portions of chips, as well as a battered sausage. The fish was huge, and delicious chips and sausage. Thankyou guys Highly recomended

Avoid at all costs if you have any allergies as they don't give a toss. Ordered 2 burgers on Just Eat. One of the burgers came with cheese although this was an optional extra on the app. Phoned the takeaway and they said that the bbq burger always comes with cheese although it's not stated on the menu. Person on the phone couldn't give a toss on whether their food would make someone severely ill.

The fish was fresh and cooked beautifully. I have never seen anyone cook fish so well, it was wonderful. You can eat comfortably in a carefully cleaned environment. The employees are very kind and friendly.nice peri peri chicken 👍👍

Absolutely dreadful, got pie and chips, chips were way undercooked, pie was cold and crumbled, the young lads serving was lovely, this is not Gormans anymore - dreadful, what a shame,

Delicious,authentic Fish and chips. Large portion and super friendly staff. Place was super busy but was well worth the wait. All menu were very flesh and provide warm service. Highly recommend

If I could give zero I would. Thought we'd give it a try as first time we've passed since opening. Half the chips were green and full of eyes, good size fish bites but undercooked batter was all soggy still. Donner kebab, got home no pita bread, meat cold and rotten salad. Never again!

Gormans open under new management now food is very tasty and fresh. Staff is very friendly. Should try peri peri chicken, tandoori chicken and parmasean.chips is proper chippy chips.recommends. you will not disappointed

Went for a kebab we got two and chips they were stone cold and the amount of grease on them was shocking, my advice is if you want good food avoid this gormans like the plague, the worst food from a chip shop I have ever had bar none

Best Chippy around bar none. Can't get enough of it, I always get a Double portion of Cod Bites & I love them. Give it a try, it is at the top of Shields Road in Byker Closes at 9pm i believe. They do lots of other stuff if fish is not for you. I'm in all the time so I hope to see you there too. All they need to do now is add Hot Wings to their menu, then it is Perfect lol. Enjoy peeps. 👅💦

Preferred old management the past couple times I’ve went in very unpleasant As staff don’t speak food isn’t very nice and very expensive £8 for chips! Milkshakes are nice though

NEW MANAGEMENT so thought id give it a try, i had the best juiciest cheese burger I've ever tasted, chips are beautiful, oh the milkshakes are better than mc dons, the staff are so friendly and helpful😜 we're going to work are way through the menu, the peri peri chicken looked amazing!!

Had a meal deal kabab in a bun and it came with no chips even know the deal says it comes with chips overall kabab meat some bits were hard and garlic was nice bun was also nice a soft and has butter on .

Would recommend... does a descent sausage and chips and the fish is not bad either...

I was trying to find a decent chippy near me because every other chippy I've tried was rank! This chippy is unreal. Highly recommend!

mushy peas were cold and had hair in it - when told staff they were rude. and refused me another serving or refund THEN had the audacity to say i was lying. Sausage was alright however chips were soggy & tasteless. Staff stunk & was unhygienic inside. Will be avoiding. Rude disrespectful staff. DO NOT GO HERE

Fish and chips both cooked fresh on request. Nice fish but chips a bit bland but I guess they have to go on the potatoes they get on the day.

Lovely staff however the batter on the fish was mushy and wet. Gorman's have a good reputation but this time i only give three stars. It's all about consistency. You can park outside and it's mobility friendly.

Worst sausage an chips iv ever had chips wer hard an barely warm sausage was tasteless should not be allowed to sell food that has been sitting in cold fryers for more than 15mins very disappointing I will be avoiding in future

Was alright, got plenty of chips for the price!

Really disappointed. Small portions, chips were lukewarm and batter was same colour as chips and soggy. Won't be going again.

Kebab was good, not the best I've had, but well made, fries were average. But for the price you will probably get the biggest portion in Newcastle. + lady who's working there was very kind. I'd recommend this place.

Brilliant, hardworking people working there. Always polite, with smile on the face and in great mood. Fish is always freshly made and nice and crispy. Just how I like it! And that garlic sauce... Mmmm

Great fish and chips and a really nice lady who served us, very pleasant Pity about the chairs and tables as they are all very high.

Impromptu visit with friends. There are a few seats, it’s really meant to be a take away rather than a restaurant. But there were enough seats for the 8 of us to tuck into our lunch. The fish and chips were good quality, not great or excellent. But solid. The service from behind the counter was nice and personal rather than transactional.

Cod and chips ..this place is normally beautiful but this evening soggy batter on the fish and tepid chips.. was so dissappointed because normally when I go here i cant usually cant fault them

Just had a delicious fish supper, freshly cooked, from the Byker shop. Didn't get the name of the female assistant, who said she was new, but would like to thank her for some fab food and friendly service.

Only go if you haven't eaten for 3 days!! Bloody hell the portion size is BIG Thought with getting meal deals the portions would be slightly smaller... Nope! £6.40 for kebab meat and chips and seperate garlic sauce and spam fritter, chips and gravy plus a can of pop each. Well worth it and very tasty. Nice treat, definitely be back

I have been a regular customer for the past nine or ten months, and am never disappointed by the quality of the food. To commemorate Burns night, I had their Haggis and Chips and was not disappointed: one of the best haggis that I have had the pleasure of having.

My family have used this chio shop since it opened, NOT ANY MORE, we got fish and chips and kebab for tea tonight, Not hapoy to be told we were not alliwed to have garlic in kebab had to have it in a pot. Dont even mention how awfull the chilli sauce was, Im sure the fish was from iceland across the road as it was grey and greasy. Its a shame the food is so dire as the staff are lovely. Have you been taken over by new management?
