Loved it at Gordon's bar, can't wait to go back, has real authentic atmosphere and the staff were lovely and attentive.

A very unique wine bar - happy to have visited the oldest wine bar in London est 1890 Got there before the queue started so was seated in the cave cellar - wine was decent nothing amazing Loved the atmosphere dining with candlelight- the alley patio seating looked fun- they had heaters during Christmas too It's a pay as u go bar Def go early unless u want a wait!

Been going to Gordon’s for at least 15 years, and is always a pleasure going there. Nothing quite like it in London. Incredible wine selection and wonder food platter options. Can get insanely busy, so need to time your visits well.

Great spot to sit down stairs with friends and a bottle of wine ... or 3! Central location, cosy, and a proper cool atmosphere. Book ahead if you would like a table in the "Caves"

No booking needed at NYE which was a lifesaver. Heated outdoor seating and we had the best spot to watch the fireworks. I’d ask for a wider low alcohol or alcohol free wine. Great ambiance and service was efficient. It just fit the bill for the occasion and we enjoyed spending 5 hours there 😅

Came here for a quick drink mid afternoon. It feels like we were in a dungeon- quite cute.

We managed to get seating in the cave after a short wait. It is very cozy with the candlelight. The wine selection is excellent and I especially enjoyed the Gordon Wood port. The cheese plate & mezze platter were delicious, I especially loved the activated charcoal vegan cheese, it was so different and tasty. The chevre was excellent too, as was the bread. Highly recommended!

This place is an amazing gem in centa London. How did I not know about it before? The perfect place to spend an hour or so with some fantastic wine and delicious deli-style food to accompany it. I had the smoked trout paté which comes with baguette, butter, conichons and olives. All really good. Sit outside. The whole place is covered in parasols and outdoor heaters. Staff here are great too!

One of the best wine bar in London, great selections of wines, amazing foods and the staff, Maran in particular was very knowledgeable about selection of wine and very accommodating and helpful. Definitely I will go back soon!

Awesome experience! The wine bar is literally in a cellar and you get to enjoy your wines in the tight spaces under the road. Quite an amazing wine selection. Only had a bit of a wait so not bad!

My wife and I visited today, 22 years after coming here on one of our first dates. The wine list was exceptional as was the food. Managed to get an inside table and enjoyed a great bottle of Chianti whilst enjoying a trip down memory lane ☺️

Heater underneath each outdoor table. Have to arrive earlier or wait if you want to indoors which have a ‘cave’ like feel.

The security was really rude towards me and my girlfriend. He thinks is funny but he is not.

Went there on a Tuesday evening with my wife. Upon arrival, I was told there is a queue and we needed to wait, however people who were arriving and telling the bouncer there's someone from their group inside were let in. That is a strange arrangement in my opinion. Having waited around 5 minutes, I was let in and my wife joined soon after. We were invited to a table and 2 menus were brought to us: wine and food. For the wine, we went with 2 glasses of rose, and for the food we went for the European charcuterie and cheese board for 2/3 people. I must say that we were both very disappointed with the amount of food on the sharer board, especially as it was advertised as for 2/3 people and it costed £40. The gorgonzola cheese on the board had a very unpleasant taste as well and we had to leave it. The establishment is more like a winter garden with tables under heated canopies. Final bill was £65 that we had to pay before getting any of the food and drinks and we got no receipt for it. The high price is due to the location, and this was the first and last time coming here.

If you would like a charcuterie board that recalls your post- primary school snack in the 1980s then this is the place for you. Asda processed ham and cheap salami. The wine is good but avoid the food.

Don't really know about the place honestly but the bouncers are excessively rude and some of them don't even speak English. Come here if you'd like to ruin your evening.

Different place, with the possibility of being inside or outside depending on availability. There is usually a queue although the wait generally does not reach 20 minutes (maybe longer if you want to be inside)

One of the oldest wine bar in central London, with an amazing basement set up, a bit dark and not for claustrophobic people. Otherwise their terrace is well know for, with people queueing everytime at the entrance.

You ask for a bottle of French Chardonnay for £40 and we get a broken bottle! We open every bottle at the table. I never thought of such a demanding place…

I have been coming here for the last 20 yrs and there’s no where better for an intimate candle light chat glass of wine and cheese board. Please don’t ever change this place.

Finally getting to try this London institution & it did not disappoint! We had the wine flight & was nice to try a variety of different whites & reds. We also had the cheese board which was divine! Huge servings & the truffle cheese was very good. Great vibes!

Unfortunately I didn’t get to sit inside as it was already very busy at 4pm on a Friday so I haven’t experienced the true Gordon’s experience of the cave like interior. However the terrace was lovely and very lively with folks having after work drinks, a great atmosphere. The wine and cheese list is extensive and what I had to eat and drink was delicious. The staff are mostly friendly and service is prompt. Well worth a visit, just get there early if you want to sit inside.

I have been to this bar several times in the past and it has been a great experience each time. Comfortable outdoor seating and cool "cave" seating inside. Large and excellent wine list with a wide selection of wines from all over the world. The bar offers many different cheeses to enjoy.

Came here not long ago, great vibe but so busy so staff weren’t as attentive compared to the cost. Don’t let that stop you, still a lovely spot, worth a visit

Very cool bar, the service was good and the wine was amazing. The interior is very cool and has a great atmosphere. We had a table outside however had to ask to move as there was loads of mice running about, judging by the staffs reaction they are always there, a bit grim and off putting not sure if we’ll be back which is a shame.

A must-visit place if you’re in London. The indoor cave sets the mood to everything. Ordered the cheese platter and the portion was generous, butter was good, everything went well together. One area that could have been better would be for the serving staff to be more equipped with wine and cheese pairing and recommend someone like me who’s isn’t savvy with wines but would love to try and get the best tasting experience.

Get there before 4pm if you want to sit in the wine cave! The wine list is immaculate and the atmosphere is everything. This is my favorite moment from our London trip and can’t thank the staff enough for our time there! We did not get any food. We’re lucky to be short enough to fully stand up in the cave but it’s small enough it’s worth the hunch over to get your table if you’re taller.

Hidden gem in Westminster. Has lots of tables to sit outside but if you do you are missing the charm of this place; which inside looks like it was an old wine cellar. Real food selection of wines, great selection of cheese to accompany the wine. A one not to be missed.

If you visit London and enjoy wine, then you will want to visit Gordon's bar. Its unique cave bar provides a relaxed atmosphere. The prices can be dear, but it's worth it. There is also an outdoor seating area if the cave is not your taste. The only disappointment in our visit was the food.

A very busy historic bar, worth a visit as it's quirky with great wine, but very busy and some of the staff are grumpy.

If you want to have a London experience you have to come to this place.

This place was soo cool. You are basically eating/drinking in a cave. The food was great, and the wine was even better. I will save you some time with this trick. If you are trying to eat inside you do not have to wait in the long line outside instead just go down to the underground entrance.

Used to love this bar back when it was only candle-lit and there was no music. I miss the charm of how it used to be. At some point they stopped taking cash and the servers all started wearing headsets. Glad I got to stop by plenty of times before that happened

We sat inside for 1.5 hrs. We were next in line waiting for a table in the cave. It did take us 30 mins to get on the list as the staff gave the cold shoulder and ignored you. Then while waiting there was just a lack of giving a crap. No menu, no service. We were asked if we wanted food as it was the last call but they did not provide a menu. The cave is pretty cool but if you just find a random cave anywhere the Service will be about the same......haha none! Finally we decided to just leave. I couldn't even begin to say if the wine or cheese was worth it but the awful service alone is a reason I'd never recommend someone coming here. Staff seemed very interested in their own lives.

A great place for London tourists. The deco is amazing, every corner has a story to tell. The wine list is quite decent with the bread and cheese platters stealing the show. Probably, the best French baguette I've ever tried. Crunchy, fresh and full of flavour. In the summer time the outside seating is really pleasant next to the Victoria gardens.

Would highly recommend, we finally made it here after wanting to come for over a year. We did get here about 430 and were able to walk straight in. Just beware that if you come after work, there is usually a queue. Great selection of wines which we were very impressed with, Had the two cheeseboard as well which I would highly recommend. The only slight thing that let it down was the service, it didn’t seem like they were too interested in serving, more speaking to one another.
