Timeless. Great service. Great food and a lovely atmosphere.

What a fabulous restaurant to dine. Attentive service, beautiful Art Deco decor and delicious meals were had by all of our party of 5. The kitchen were able to cater for my allergies no problem. (I had the Sea Bass which tasted delicious). Will return!

This place is a must go if you are in London because it has great British cuisine and options for everyone! The staff was incredible and the atmosphere makes you feel at home.

If you love all things entertainment then this venue is for you. Glamour without the pompous attitude. Absolutely delightful.

I tried the breakfast...a classic, first-class British restaurant...it was wonderful and I will return to it

Beautiful art deco style restaurant with a very diverse menu. Staff are friendly although a bit rushed. We very much enjoyed our food and the whole ambiance. Definitely recommended!

I would like to say thank you for our late lunch today.. Our waiter Paul was excellent! Fun and so tentative looking after 9 ladies is no easy feat! I don’t recall our wonderful waitress name! So so sorry, but hopefully you will! Table today 2 to 2.30’ The reception ladies, all of them and Carolina thank you for saving my beautiful handbag and the door man! Kitchen, the food was as I remember! Perfect. Truffles on fries superb. My husband and friends have eaten at the Ivy since the early days. It was a pleasure to return today! It did not disappoint and it hasn’t changed like so many restaurants have and it has retained it that original era and charm, great food great service and all in all us ladies who have known each other for 60 years had a wonderful time! Thank you and merry Christmas 🎄 We will now return as soon as possible. Gratitude 🙏

The Ivy at West Street was wonderful, from arriving to have the door opened and a proper welcome, can we take your coats. Seated with menu's. Food was excellent staff great I cannot give sufficient praise.

Thank you so much I met a friend today whom I hadn’t seen for years so it was a special occasion. We were given a nice table, the service was great and food really delicious. We both had the apple endive and Stilton salad followed by the Ivy burger. Completely enjoyed it all.

The original Ivy for many years has been our go to when celebrating. I have been concerned that with all the new openings across the UK that the brand may be diluted. I was right! The menu is the same here as other Ivy restaurants making it pointless travelling into London, may as well try something else rather than what has become a chain restaurant. Food was OK although over seasoned. Service was good but not exceptional as it once was.

Great atmosphere and the restaurant itself is very nice. The food is very average, just big chain restaurant dishes. The waiting staff were nice but unable to get an order correct. Out of seven dishes, six were wrong. Wrong sides on all dishes, two stakes never received the sauces that were ordered but charged. One steak ordered well done once cut was running with blood which made the diner feel so ill she never ate, the steak was taken off the bill but not the sides although one of these was also incorrect. Quite honestly, if it had not been a family meal, we would have left without paying or eating. The waitress was very apologetic and offered us a free sweet for the table or a round of drinks but still did not take off all the incorrect items from the bill. I could not challenge this as I was not the one paying but felt the whole experience was dreadful. Unfortunately, we have a voucher for The Ivy but are now reluctant to use. Not the experience they advertise, and I'm sure there are many better and less expensive restaurants in the area you should check out first.

Chic English brasserie, friendly and attentive service. A good evening in this beautiful place

Needed a good place to have dinnef before headingonto the theatre. Had the a la carte menu. A wide range of dishes . Hard was so good and well . Came across this as a choibd. Hotel was gorgeous, the resturant beauti ful A lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thefood was served quickly and plentiful, and the presentaion of each dish excellent. Staff were perfectly presented , knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu

Celebrated my husbands 60th birthday and had a delicious meal in this beautiful restaurant with welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Minor issue which was sorted quickly and with no fuss. Marie Ann really understands excellent customer service.

The Ivy was such a beautiful and great experience. Our server Ramona was alert, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. I would highly recommend coming if you’re in the area.

Celebrated my 21st Birthday here. Wanted to give a special thanks to Radoslav who offered an amazing service. He was very attentive and kind, always made sure glasses were filled and came around to ask if we needed anything. Service was immaculate as soon as we entered we were welcomed in with a very positive and accommodating energy. Even when we left the gentleman at the door helped me put on my jacket. Had an amazing time celebrating at The Ivy.

Great place for a special occasion or in my case a dinner with clients. Great atmosphere, great service and great food.

Went to the Ivy for the first time on Saturday and will not be returning. The drinks took ages to come with my meal tge chips were Luke warm and the stake was dry and just tasted cheap and awful.

Beautiful venue and gorgeous food with friendly and attentive staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

I haven't been to this wonderful establishment for over 10 years, something happened and I thought they'd lost their edge. I'm really happy that I gave them another try as they are better than ever! The service was so gracious, friendly and welcoming from the doorman to reception and servers. They really made us feel welcome. There's no stuffiness here. The food was superb. My truffleled tortellini in a cheese sauce was excellent and filling - I couldn't finish it. My husband's fish and chips were absolutely the best. Crispy batter, and the fish was thick and succulent. Their sticky toffee pudding is the best anywhere, and we are on a mission to prove this. The prices are surprisingly good (as always). All the above and a nice bottle of wine and the bill came in under a £100. We're definitely going back, sooner than later.

Very welcoming staff! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with great attention and pleasant smiles. Even without a reservation, although there were people in the room, the hostess immediately put us at ease by telling us that she would find us a table for dinner. Our coats left in the cloakroom, we discovered a restaurant room with sumptuously rococo decor. The atmosphere was warm and supported by modern music. We ate very good food even if the wines were a little expensive for their quality. The service was charming and helpful throughout the dinner. We had a great evening and recommend this very nice venue in the center of Brighton.

Brasserie-style restaurant ideally located. Careful welcome and attentive service. The dishes served are delicious with good quantity. Special mention to the fish and chips and the brownie! I recommend. Small downside for the room which is a little noisy during rush hour.

Yet another great meal at an Ivy restaurant. Excellent food and service on the pre theatre menu. Well worth a visit. The onion soup was lovely as was the Sea Bream.

We've visited The Ivy periodically over the years and again last night to celebrate a belated 50th for a friend. Saturday night, the restaurant was extremely busy, we were late arriving, and yet the service, atmosphere, and of course the food was still as good as ever. We love the flavours of the dishes, the wine choice, and the buzzy atmosphere. We will I'm sure keep returning.

Food was excellent, had the prawn curry, and aunt had the eggs benedict. Service was good, but not as spot on as in the past. Little bit too noisy in the room, but sofas were very comfy, we had a nice corner spot!

Sadly this once amazing establishment is now a shadow of its former self. Food was genetic, service could be better and the prices are far too high. All of that aside the interior remains a delight. Overall not worth the circa £100 a head we paid for lunch with wine at £45.

The food and service was fantastic. Loved the warm bread rolls. The fish pie was delicious and full of filling. The whole experience was very regal at quite a reasonable price for the type of restaurant.

Great place for pre-theatre dinner, convenient for a lot of theatres.

A whole variety of dishes and wines, everything we tasted was delicious. The service, the space and the atmosphere are great. Everytime we’ll come and spend some days in this wonderful city, we’ll surely repeat this tasteful experience. This is how it’s done. The Ivy is in a perfect location for the West End theatre district. The building is beautiful, service and ambiance is impeccable. The cocktails were perfectly mixed and served by a knowledgeable, professional and friendly barman and the food was wonderful. My new go-to place in London.

First time been to IVY Excellent cuisine in London.

For the price (£200 dinner for two people) I expected something special but everything felt very average and no better than any Ivy brasserie I’ve been to and spent a lot less in. The food was fine but I left feeling unsatisfied and to be frank, ripped off.

Not what it was a few years ago but, still a lovely place to visit. Quite expensive, based upon reputation rather than the current offer ?

I can’t recommend the pre theatre experience enough. Food excellent, wine not stupidly overpriced and staff attentive and friendly. We sat at the counter which was lovely as we ended up chatting to a great American couple. Amazing to be back in the ORIGINAL Ivy after 30 years xx

This is one of our favorite places. Sit amongst the ghosts of yester-year and enjoy wonderful service and food. Great for pre-theatre or for date night.

I’ve been going to the Ivy since when it was just the ONE Ivy! It is alway consistently great. We were dining with friends visiting London who were quite happy about the variety of dishes meeting all their needs. Service was quick and friendly. Yay! I had the Shepards Pie. Delicious. Gravy to die for. Every exclaimed how wonderful the chips were. Those who had the fish and chips didn’t eat their mushy peas. I was shocked as I love this addition to F&C. Perhaps offer an alternative? Can’t go wrong with cream spinach or broccoli. (Imagining creamed broccoli with just a little bit of Parmesan cheese and some seasoning… that could be really delicious. )

We have eaten at many Ivy restaurants, and in fact this is our second visit to this particular one. From the moment we arrived it really was amazing service. The atmosphere was spot on and the gentleman that looked after us behind the bar was exceptional. There was a slight delay on our food which he informed us of and to be honest he was so nice we really didn’t mind at all. This particular Ivy is set apart with its customer service and should be an example to others!! Well done Team Ivy, West Street.

I have changed my my five star review after my third visit this past September 29th. I visited the Ivy at 1-5 West street and all I can say the food still is great, no complaints at all, great flavors and meal sizes, but waiters and managers need to be trained to treat tourists. This is a clear example of how a bad service can ruin a great restaurant experience. Just don’t be prejudiced against tourists, we can pay for our meals as locals and we also have the right to refuse a drink if it taste bad. Don’t think I will visit this place again with my family, there are plenty of options in London for tourists.

The original Ivy, still so full of charm and elegance and friendly service. I still love coming here and really enjoy the decor and people watching. The food is always on point as is the service and it just feels like a nice place to be.

The Ivy was wonderful-service and food was beyond excellent!

The Ivy west st is great but the overall customer vibe is not sleek anymore. The fact the phone isn’t answered for ages and they push you to use the 3rd party platform open table (who doesn’t confirm the bookings on email so I’ve been forced to wait on the phone as I can’t resolve changes /confirm anything on the Ivy website) has downgraded the original Ivy west street experience now. It’s basically another Ivy Cafe /chain like Côte with website bookings which is a real shame as the west street Ivy has always been a real jewel/special place.

My sister and I visited for a joint birthday do and Elitsa took really good care of us! Food, ambiance and service are all luxury standard and our long awaited visit was thoroughly enjoyed!

We like to eat at good restaurants, this was extremely expensive for the quality received. The fish pie was gluggy and the prices were astronomical. We are happy to pay when things are perfect The waiter was good and the staff were friendly .. we loved the room and the atmosphere disappointed in the food

This place is good but I don’t think they clean thier floors

The Ivy customer service is non existent. Cannot get through on the phone to cancel a reservation which I never received an email confirmation for, so no other way to cancel it. Been on hold for 9 minutes so far and this is the third time I’ve tried to get through

Phenomenal dinner experience. We were seated immediately, given time to visit look over the menu, and the was service impeccable! The food was spectacular. We had the reservation for months and The Ivy surpassed our expectations!

Their pre-theatre menu is amazing! Two courses for £29.99, we opted for mains and dessert. Everything was full of flavour. The portions are on a smaller side but that’s expected. You’d need an extra side dish also.

Our waiter Paul was so lovely and kind, the food was delicious and the restaurant very cosy and stylish! Another staff moment was slightly rude when I asked for water, however Paul more than made up for it! We will be back next time we have a show in the west end!

Very nice birthday lunch last Wednesday, staff very pleasant and their service was good. Enjoyed my shepherds pie immensely.

If the Ivy is special, it's because the staff are so welcoming. The food is great, but not amazing. The staff, though, are always brilliantly welcoming.

I had a very good evening. Without a reservation, I was able to be seated at the bar. The decor is superb, and the service was impeccable. The server was very attentive. I had the Shepard’s Pie with extra cheese, and it was delicious. The bread and butter served while waiting was a nice surprise, and as a French person, I found the bread really excellent! For dessert, I opted for the fig pistachio puff pastry tart, also very good. In the end, the portions were generous and the prices were quite reasonable for the quality. I highly recommend!

Vacile and the team were attentive and friendly throughout or dinner. Our group of 5 ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone was satisfied with the food taste and portions.

Its been a few years since I last ate at the Ivy and wow, what a disappointment. I think the business as it has expanded over time has sacrificed quality in its flagship restaurant for volume. We were a party of four and were there for the Sunday lunch. 2 of us had roast beef and 2 had the chicken. Perhaps the main issue was the overly lengthy time delay it took to get our food. We didnt order starters but had to wait more than almost 90 minutes to get our main meal. I wasnt asked how I would like my beef and it was served really rare, which was not my preference. Also the cut of meat I received was very fatty and had a in-edible sinew running through it. The vegetables were actually ok, Dessert choices were fine for us all and (other than the lengthy wait) service was generally good. But likely I wont think of the Ivy next time Im looking for a dining venue in central London.

Had the Sunday roast here. The wait staff was rarely seen, not very attentive. The beef, carrots & potatoes were very good, but some of the Yorkshire puds were too dry. The chicken did not come with the vegetable sides as described in the menu, instead it came with mushroom stuffed chicken. Chicken with a side of chicken was not what we'd hoped for. The sticky toffee pudding was very good.

Fantastic place. The food was really nice particularly the lamb. Highly recommended!

This may not be the celebrity haunt it once was but it is still a special restaurant, with the brilliant Art Decor layout of the dining room and exceptional service. Don't come here for a fancy menu but instead for faultlessly executed comfort food. Well thought out wine list.

It's literally the best place in London to eat. So reasonably priced as well. It's never disappointed and always consistent.

Wonderful evening! Cocktails were perfectly crafted. Dinner was some of the best roasted cod I have ever had. All wait staff were attentive and detail oriented. Ivy has a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

A thoroughly disappointing and regrettable experience from beginning to end (and beyond). Not at all the fine dining it is advertised to be; it's an overrated tourist trap and a complete waste of our special evening. The environment is not welcoming or inclusive for certain people (read: ethnic minorities). It is shameful they ruined our 7-year anniversary dinner. Completely AVOID. My partner and I were initially elated to make reservations, as we were celebrating what was supposed to be a very special night. It was our anniversary and our first time being together in nearly a year, as we live on opposite sides of the world and only had 2 weeks together, including this night. From the lackluster way we were greeted and questioned about our reservation (I suppose we didn't fit the standard "look" of the clientele they desired, based on the way the host looked me up and down), they reluctantly took our coats. After a wait, they finally escorted us to our seats. We waited several minutes to receive menus and order drinks, during which time we felt as though we were being stared at. We initially planned to order drinks and dessert, but when the server pursed her lips and rolled her eyes, we were pressured into ordering more. We asked for tap water but were brought a bottle, which we were charged for later. We ordered a salad and shepherd's pie, which I'd heard was "to die for." The salad was overwhelmed with salt and inedible. We waited several minutes to flag someone down and have it sent back. My partner no longer wanted to eat, but they offered to remake it. So we waited and waited. Meanwhile, my shepherd's pie was getting cold since they failed to coordinate our two plates properly. At least 15 minutes later, they brought out the small salad, which was just "good enough." When I finally got to enjoy my lukewarm shepherd's pie, it was fine. Just fine—not life-changing, and in all honesty, reminiscent of a canned beefaroni. Just as lackluster as the rest of the experience. After our uncomfortable dining experience and being ignored for the majority of the service, another server came (coincidentally, they changed our server to a minority server halfway through) and she incorrectly wished me a happy birthday. Clearly, there was a lack of communication, and I had to inform her it was our anniversary. She brought out mini truffles in a box for us due to the chef's mistake in the kitchen. I noticed the obviously affluent couple seated next to us, also celebrating an anniversary, received a beautiful plate with truffles carefully arranged around a special "anniversary" message. This made me feel like we, by comparison, didn't matter. To add insult to injury, they also received another truffle box meant for us because the server mistakenly thought it was their table with the inedible salad. And the final insult was when the bill came. The server would not let me see the ticket, which I've never experienced in my life. When she relented, I noticed we were charged for the salad the kitchen screwed up, as well as the water, a service charge (really!), and an additional cover charge for sitting at the table—none of which were disclosed beforehand. As we left, the host again wished me a happy birthday. Despite being dressed to the nines and looking forward to this evening for weeks, we were made to feel awful and excluded from beginning to end. Once we finally left, I wanted to cry because of how we were treated with such little care. This was not only a bad experience; it was by far one of the worst dining experiences of my life. There is absolutely no excuse for treating anyone like this, especially when they are your guests. How shameful.

Started out great with a fine dine atmosphere and good service. However, after seeing our waitress only 3 times, and we had finished eating; we weren't acknowledged for the entire next hour. I managed to bother another waitress for some help but was met with no words and a turn of head. It's just plain rude. I hailed over (after another 45 minutes of no service) a waiter who happily cleared our table. All in all, we got abandoned halfway through the meal 😑. It's not the worst thing that could happen, but MAN, that's one way to make sure your customers never return.
