Goodbarn's Yard in Boston

Went for dinner not been for about six months. I had the cottage pie the meat was ok but the potato topping had lumps of uncooked potato in it which spoilt it. It was served with vegetables and the cabbage again was uncooked I had three solid lumps of what looked like the core of the cabbage, my fork wouldn’t even go in it. The second meal was ok. I mentioned it to the waitress and was offered a free dessert but would rather have had a decent main in the first place. Not really worth the money.

Lunch time treat for me and mum . We was not disappointed at all . The service was excellent, food was delicious 😋 I would recommend the pie . Will be returning 100%

Probably the best food and bar in Boston. Had two meals hear and we were very impressed with the quality and portion size, not forgetting the very pleasant staff. just to mention the table tops were clean but the table edges and the cutlery bucket could benefit from a clean.

£13.00 for the privilege of 4 day old meat, day old Yorkshire puds and Luke warm verge. If that’s Sunday lunch - What’s gone wrong at the goodbarns???

Went for a family lunch. We were warned when ordering there was a 30 minute wait but the food definitely was worth the wait. All food was top notch. Staff helpful and polite. Lots to choose from on the menu.

Absolutely brilliant this pub / bar in the old part of Boston Lincolnshire down wormgate is a peice of heaven next to the river bank and a great outside garden and good food with the best pint of landlord outside Yorkshire

Went for a Birthday Party, 15 of us in all. We preordered the food to make it easier on the night. The food was delicious, we had at least 10 different dishes and everyone was happy with their meal. The food was hot and well presented and everyone was served at the same time. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much, they even provided the candles for the Birthday cake. Will definitely be back.

We visited Boston for the day and stumbled across this pub. The outside of the property looked well kept with a board saying food served all day so we decided to go in for lunch. Excellent hospitality, no sooner had we found a table we were asked what we wanted to drink. My partner was very happy they had Ghost Ship and Timothy Taylor on draught. We chose Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni and Roast Beef in a Yorkie and both meals were good portions and delicious. I also had Apple Crumble with Custard. Excellent service & good value for money, would certainly recommend.

The food is cooked to perfection! I recommend the sausage and mash, absolutely beautiful! The staff are extremely attentive and provide a great service. The price is definitely value for money £15 for a beer and meal for 1. Can't get better in boston! Highly recommend! Sophie behind the bar was brilliant!

First visit to Goodbarn’s Yard - fabulous visit, thank you. We were welcomed at the bar, shown to a table and had a delicious lunch - burger, (enormous, succulent and yummy), dessert and a great Irish coffee. We’ve booked for the Sunday Carvery later this month - when a family member is visting. Thank you to all the staff at Goobarn’s Yard 🙂

Staying in Boston for work and had this recommended to me for dinner. Relaxed place and I felt comfortable in there on my own - will pop back during the week I’m sure for a glass of wine!

Food was amazing all home cooked and at a great price. The young bar man was wonderful I was talking to him about the history of the building and he showed me the photos and got me a book explains the history of the area. Kept me there drinking longer 🤣

What a fabulous pub. Me and my partner went on the off chance they could get us in on a bank holiday Sunday. Didn’t know where to go as it was our first time visiting Boston. We’d come from Skegness as we have a caravan there. Greeted by a lovely man saying people do normally book as they’ve been busy but he managed to squeeze us in and we were so pleased he did. I had veggie sausages with mash and veg and my partner had the gammon. Decent portion sizes and the veggie vegan options are fantastic! It is so refreshing to have a wide choice instead of making do with slim options. Carvery is available too. Service was fabulous and food came promptly piping hot! Stuffed from lunch but because it was good we decided to have a pudding. I had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and my partner had the jam sponge with custard. Fabulous. Washed down with a couple of Chilean Sauvignons, beaut. If you’re in the area you must go here.

+ Lovely garden - my burger was dry and bland. It filled me but I really did not enjoy eating it. They put a lot of stilton on top though i expected it to come melted or in form of a sauce but it didn’t. My partners food was bland too.

Popped in yesterday place was pretty busy and told there would be a wait for food, in the end we waited just 10 minutes, food was excellent and service great. Thanks to everyone involved, we will be back next time we are in Boston.

We had a magnificent dinner at the Goodbarns Yard!! Great value, enormous meals and great service. Fantastic atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone who wanted value for money meal.

We had a great works Christmas meal here. Lovely home cooked food, table decorated lovely, and the pub itself really festive. Staff were really attentive asking if we needed anything and if we were all OK. Lovely team.

Had this place recommended and it’s was literally next door to our hotel whilst working in the area staff and food spot on lots of reserved tables too… will be back again before we head for home gorgeous steak salad!!

Very wide selection on the menu. Average price for average pub grub. Dogs cannot be walked through the premises, but are allowed in the garden, via the side driveway.

Vegan options fantastic. Food great including carvery, service fast. Nice inside, friendly would go again and would recommend.

Always an excellent meal. Regularly visit here. Staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. Food is homemade and portion sizes are plentiful. Would recommend.

Stumbled across this place by accident but OMG it was amazing the food was fresh and homemade and the staff were absolutely lovely I would definitely go there again when near the area

Had several good meals here before but this wasn't one of them, we were a part of four and not one meal was more than mediocre. The spaghetti bolognese was obviously microwaved to the point of crunchy pasta, both burgers came with chips that were a mixture of hot and stone cold, the prawns in the salad were obviously straight out the fridge and over cold. We told the server who said she would inform the chef but nothing more happened. All I can say is they must be used to four meals coming back with more food left than eaten.

Used to the special restaurant to go too. Been loads of times, but thought the food was not up to usual standards.Not cooked or tasted as good, the steaks were a bit chewy. Very disappointed.

Went to this pub for Sunday lunch. COVID precautions were sensible and well presented, with a one-way system between bar and the large garden where we sat out, with a view of the Stump. Fish and chips, scampi and chips and so on, and a much better range for vegans than average. Recommended for a non-pretentious meal out.

After a recent visit - Goodbarns was a delight to visit. The staff were very very attentive and welcoming, the food was ‘top notch’. we were seated in a cosy little corner - food service was fast and the quality of the food was fantastic. Well done goodbarns. Keep up the good work!

Had our first evening meal out post lockdown at Goodbarns this evening. Service was friendly, all staff were wearing face masks, and plenty of hand sanitation stations around. One way system clearly marked out and all the precautions put in place were clear and easy to follow and didn't really detract from the experience at all. The food was very good as always and the one page menu made it easy to record choices - of which there were plenty of options including several vegetarian dishes. Will certainly be returning soon. Disappointed with our visit here as the rules for Covid are by far over the top, more questions / instructions than going to the Dentist !! We all know we have to be careful but at the end of the day life is a risk and we have to get on with living. This was not our 1st trip out for a meal but the 1st time we have felt unwelcome / unwanted. The food was OK but nothing special.

Under normal circumstances we use the Goodbarns frequently for meals out....the staff are all exceptional and there are lots of different meals on the menu which are amazing. The staff go out of their way to serve you exactly what you ask for and nothing is ever too much for them. Anyway, I’ve been extremely unsure about going out since lockdown eased but decided to be treated to a birthday meal with my family and I wasn’t disappointed....we were greeted at the door and all guidelines were explained to us in detail...it was complete table service and although it was really busy you wouldn’t have known because we still received that same exceptional service!! I’ve been recommending to others that this is the place to go! Well done Allison and team, you are fab!!

A young gentleman greeted us I must say his cleanliness is far from what should be exceptible body odour was terrible his finger nails was disgusting as a meet n greet we decided to sit down knowing we wouldn’t be able to go else where being late in the evening to book but I said if he had brought the food I would have left fortunately he didn’t another gentleman who he should take tips of will He was clean and presentable brought our food and was very helpful but there must have been a different cook on last night also as the burgers was terrible normally the food has been good a couple with another child on table near us also I commented on the hygiene on this other gentleman on shift last night and the state of his hands and nails they also said if he’d brought there food they was leaving good job Will brought there food out as well goodbarns you need to have a word with staff on hygiene and cleanliness when at work !!!!!!!

We went here with friends on a quiet Wednesday just after lunchtime. The service was excellent, friendly yet always professional. The food was flavours and as we had vegan guests, freshly prepared. There is a one way system in operation but all was explained and never an issue. Heartily recommend Goodbarn's Yard for a quiet lunch and catch up with friends.

Food is fantastic go very often even been for a carvery and wasn't disappointed, it's very popular so you will need to book, but definitely recommend

As was staying just a few yards away it was great to be able to find somehere that was good. In the group of us we had two lasangues, garlic bread, chicken pie and a chilli bowl. The only down side was there was not a lot of chilli and it lacked some depth of flavour but the other meals were good. The staff where friendly and quick with any extras we asked for so you were not kept waiting as in some establishments and your meal is getting cold.

In Boston to watch the football. Having read previous reviews thought we'd try this for lunch. Very pleasant experience. Great choice of food, good quality and reasonable prices. Deceptively long building with nice looking garden at rear. Good choice of real ales. Staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Would definitely return if visiting Boston.

Called in on a quiet Monday afternoon, got some drinks and went to sit in a corner in the bar to look at the menu. We both opted for the hickory burger. Beef burger, fried chicken burger, bacon, cheese, onion ring and Bbq sauce, with chips, salad and another onion ring on the side. Tasted great, and just what you need to fix you up for the rest of the day. I think we probably could have shared one though and still went home full! The only thing I would change is the brioche buns, but that's my own personal taste.

had an evening meal here between xmas and new year went because i had read the reviews and wasn't disapointed the food was freshly cooked and lots of choice prices were good very nice staff would go again if in the area

This pub is a little treasure. Friendly staff and great food. Set in the heart of Boston (the proper one, not the American imposter), ideally placed. If you’re visiting pop in and try the food, traditional pub fare, variety of dishes and sandwiches. You won’t be disappointed. Decent prices too.

My husband and I come here for a meal whenever we can. It’s our number one choice for decent pub grub. The food is always tasty, fresh and decent prices! There’s never a long wait for the meals to come out or if there is, we will be told before ordering. Been coming for years & hopefully for many more to come :)

We stopped by for a drink in the bear garden, very nice little place by the river, perfect on a nice summers day. We liked the feel of the place so much we decided to stay for dinner, the menu choices were good and there was something for everyone. The food was really good, we had a party of 4 and everyone was more than happy with the food. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when we are next in the area.

Met with mate and his new partner and as we are on holiday we treated ourselves to a meal. Two fillets, surf and turf, a chicken dish and my partner was boring and had jacket potato. The food took ages but it was a Saturday so we just waited. When it came out all the steaks were well done even though we ordered medium rare. The meat was tough and dry! I called to a waitress and was ignored, not once but twice! Even my partners jacket potato was dry and rock hard! We ate what we could and left! I was totally embarrassed as I’d recommended the place! Lots of awkward looks between us as we threw away nearly £100! Avoid it!

On previous visits for a Sunday carvery we have had 2 good slices each of both beef and pork, or at least decent size single slices, and offered pork crackling. Today's visit we asked for pork and beef as usual and was given one tiny end of joint pork slice and the same of beef most of which was fat. I questioned it with the young girl serving and was told this is 'a normal serving'. We where offered no crackling which my husband loves and had to make our plates up with vegetables. People following us where given 2 slices each from both FRESH joints of meats. I was disappointed that we got one tiny fatty slice and others had 2 freshly cooked slices of each meat and offered crackling. It's as if she just wanted to get rid of the last dregs of meat to us before starting carving a fresh joint.

It was our little Boo's 7th Birthday and she naturally picked Goodbarns Yard. Whole experience from start to finish was amazing. She was serenaded with Happy Birthday when she arrived. We had brought in decorations and her cake and staff decorated the table for us beforehand. The food was amazing, service was exceptional with staff going the extra mile. Molly had a phenomenal time and the bonus of her meal for FREE was just the icing on the cake....pardon the pun! They even took her photograph and with our permission put it on their Facebook page which gained Molly even more birthday wishes. A GREAT Birthday celebration

As a difficult family to feed with 1 vegan, 1 OAP with small appetite and 2 adults, we could not fault this place. The vegan options really were vegan. The owners daughter is vegan so the meals were way above average. My mum had a kids plate, and no hassle from the staff about it and my husband and I enjoyed both our main course and dessert. Oh yes and Vegan Ice Cream and Crumble!

Proper pub with friendly staff and well kept beer. We were in for lunch and weren't disappointed, the food was home cooked to order hot and delicious. Washed down with a real pint of Timmy Taylor's best, highly recommend.

Popped in here for Saturday lunch. We were told that there no free tables in the restaurant but we could sit anywhere in the bar area so we did. The very lovely lady working behind the bar bought our drinks over , then we were ready to order our food. I had sausage and cheese torpedo and my Husband had the bbq chicken torpedo, which came with chips and a side salad. We both ate everything.

We booked a table for 5 on Saturday lunchtime.23rd March, The food was outstanding and very reasonable.We met friends there and can honestly say I would recommend this pub.The drinks are also Very reasonably priced.

My friend and I popped in for dinner and drinks. We chose to sit near the lovely open fire. Both my friend and I agreed that it was truly a lovely pub with friendly and helpful bar staff. Good choice of beers, spirits and ciders.

There arnt many Decent Pub/Restaurants in Boston so we thought we Would try this place as we heard good things.

Had a visit to Goodbarns yesterday 14/2/19 and once again I wasn’t disappointed, the food is always fantastic, proper home cooked food, I can highly recommend my favourite the blue burger. The staff are great always happy and helpful and nothing is too much bother. A great atmosphere and a lovely place for lunch or dinner

Second time to this restaurant and once again had a great meal at a great price very busy at lunch time so had to wait as we did not book but we know it's worth waiting for these landladies do a great job in a friendly pub will definitely be going back.

Busy and vibrant Pub serving a variety of tasty meals reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely environment in an historical building in the oldest street in Boston next to the Church.

Popped in here for Saturday lunch. We were taken through to the tables and asked if we would like drinks, which were bought to our table. I had steak and Guinness pie with chips and peas and my husband had surf and turf. We both ate all of our food and absolutely loved it. The steak in my pie just melted in your mouth. My husband said that his steak was cooked to perfection. Just how he asked for it to be cooked.

This has to be one of my favourite places to eat/drink. Although it looks like a typical pub the food standard sets it apart.

Often go here for lunch or evening meal, plenty of choice, reasonably priced and good portion size, would recommend

Went for a meal this evening with 6 of my friends to Goodbarnes.. im recently diagnosed totally Gluten Free and have found eating out to be a challenge. I went for a deconstructed burger.. it was the hickory burger which usually consists of a beef burger, cheese, bacon, onion rings, breaded chicken burger, bbq sauce and chips.. i had this burger without the bread roll bacon onion rings and breaded chicken.. i have nothing but praise for these ladies as i was advised that they could do me a chicken breast unbreaded, cooked me some mushrooms seperatley, and also cooked me oven chips instead of fried as even though they have a vegetarian fryer they do cook the battered onion rings in it. For dessert they even had a GF New York cheesecake on the menu which was delicious.

Lovely meal great service rang and booked as birthday staff checked passport should have ten pounds off main and three ninety five for pudd hubby paid on checking bill at home no discount for meal or pudd so rang pop in don’t put refund back on card went after shopping next day had two meals for eleven pounds two drinks again after checking when home no adjustment given for pudd beer gone up and larger both up twenty pence a pint so went back apologies given when mentioned beer prices the beer went up this morning so be aware check your bills otherwise meals were perfect

This place should be a must as it is worth going to for an evening meal and good drinks. There is also friendly staff who are willing to speak nicely to customers and the atmosphere is welcoming to all (young and old, singles and families, drinkers and non drinkers). Very good food and a good selection of pub food available to eat outdoors next to the canal or indoors, all the while being located next to the historic 'Stump'.

Good old English pub nestled under the iconic Boston Stump and sitting on the side of the river Haven. Good quality food ideal for popping in and sitting in beer garden on a summers day or at night a celebration meal, they also accomadate large dining parties. So popular in the town Sunday lunch also.

Food was cheap and offered both a good range of options and good portion sizes. The bbq ribs (baby) was especially big. Its a lovely place to sit outside by the river in the summer. Staff are friendlyish and service was alright.

Located a short walk from the White Hart Hotel along a quaint narrow road. Nice friendly staff and jolly atomosphere.

After our daughter received an amazing school report for the end of Year One we asked our 6 year old where she wanted to eat and she chose Goodbarns. The staff are so warm and welcoming plus they know her by name, she adores the food (such a varied and excellent menu) and with the perfect weather we ate outside. Another first class experience and we will continue to come here

A lovely pub near to the town centre. Food is served from 12 the menu is extensive and the food is good value for money, On a nice sunny day you can sit outside part is covered over. The service is good and the staff are great. Real ale drinkers will like this pub.

Visited yesterday whilst visiting friends in Boston. We went on their suggestion and were not disappointed. Staff very friendly food piping hot and of good quality at a reasonable price. Very obliging, love lashings gravy and custard, got extra on both. Had the sausage and mash highly recommend

Enjoyed the recent good weather in the bear garden with a pint and a burger, reasonably priced and good food couldn’t fault.

I’ve came here a few times now. The burgers are good.... but could be better if they were fresh burgers and the gammon is great!! The sizzler’s are good to but could do with a bit more meat and sauce to give it a bit more flavour. The staff are always really friendly when I’ve been in and the service and quality of food was still great on the day it had snowed.

Walk into town and dropped in for meal and drink at lunch time. Very comfortable environment with roaring open fire, just what you need after a week of snow. Food, drink and service excellent.

Every year we have lunch out to celebrate my birthday (30th Dec). This time my friend chose this venue. From the beginning, the staff were pleasant, courteous and helpful. The meal was delicious, once we had ordered there wasn't a long wait until it arrived, even though the place was busy. There were quite a few of our colleagues from work lunching as well. Well praised. We will be returning.
