Golden Wok Chinese Takeaway in Canterbury

Family meal treat this weekend, it delicious food was great and very fresh we will return. Had a couple of special requests

Normally use a closer Chinese but shut on Mondays decided to give this a try and £37 mistake later!! Never go here again. Rice tasted off and all stuck together like an uncle bens packet one, satay skewers so much sauce which was quite strong and thick, chow mien just thick noodles and black bean sauce no flavour. Never ever again!!!! Would rather eat my own foot!!!!

Food is nice always piping hot but this is 2 out of 2 for specifying when I ask for Singapore chow main that I want thick noodles and when I get home I have vermicelli. Very disappointed and annoyed at my self for not checking. Only ordered two dishes and considering I specifically specified what I wanted it's not hard.

We had a takeaway tonight. Almost every dish was excellent as usual. My only disappointment was the spare ribs. Tonight, they seemed a little over cooked and were very chewy. Tested great but a bit tough. Unusual for the Golden Wok. We'll still go back. Hopefully, it was a one off.

The lady on the phone at the weekend is always friendly and helpful. The food is great..... the best Chinese takeaway that I've had for a long time

Ordered a meal for my wife and I while staying at the Alberta Holiday next to the Golden Wok. Ordered chicken chow mein and Lemon Chicken. Arrived nice and hot and was tasty with generous portions.

I use this place a lot as the food is ok. Delivery normally pretty good but the last 2 times have been dismal. Tonight I got the standard 40- 45 minutes so after an hour of waiting I phone up and get told its going to be another 20mins. I told them it's a joke but they're not bothered. I don't mind if it's going to be 1hr 20. I can make a decision on that. I will be going elsewhere so that's a regular they won't get any more.

Collected our order of over £60 and there was a piece of metal wire within the chow mien which my grandmother choked on and had it scratch her throat. Will never return.

Most of the food is pretty good. There are some dishes that are disappointing but overall I would recommend this place. The phone is often engaged so it takes patience trying to get through. They could improve their service by getting a second phone number.

The flavours of each dish were exceptional. This was our second time of trying the Golden Wok as we have just moved to the area and we both said it was the best we had ever had, but this week was even better. I could thoroughly recommend the lemon chicken with a fabulous sauce. All in all, 10/10.

We have always used Golden Wok for our takeaway and have it delivered For the past 2 months the phone has been constantly engaged. I have rung on my mobile over 150 times one one night. I finally went to the shop and ordered for collection. I asked if there was a problem with the phones no was the reply just busy. I said I’m calling you now and it was engaged. The phone was off the hook. Tonight was the final straw. Exactly the same issues at 5.15pm. I have now gone back to the China Chief. Excellent food and very quick delivery. I will not be using Golden Wok again

Golden wok. Why lie? Told delivery would be 1 hr ok Saturday night , busy After 2 hrs waiting called back to be told. Food hasn’t been cooked yet. Another customer you have lost !!!! 3 hrs for a takeaway is not acceptable

Recommended by our campsite manager, Really tasty Chinese we used this twice in a week it was that nice. Reasonable priced & quick delivery to campsite very friendly delivery driver rang once arrived. Food was delicious even kids that don't like Chinese food loved the Chicken Balls with curry they wanted it everyday. Definitely would recommend to anyone shame we live so far away but if visited again would go again.

Only ever use this place when I’m at home amazing food always and staff are just lovely especially love the salt and chilli squid! Prawn balls chicken ball curry in fact there is nothing I don’t like!!

The Golden Wok really is the best in the Bubble. As a Native, I have tried most of the local Chinese Takeaways (which hold stiff competition to be honest!) But The Golden Wok consistently takes the lead. It has been my nearest takeaway for nearly 20 years and never fails. Food is tasty, healthy and fresh. Good variety of dishes and staff are always so friendly. Definitely Seasalter's little pearl. Us locals are very lucky to have this on our doorstep!

The food is absolutely amazing here ! Wouldn’t recommend a delivery as the driver who delivers most of the time looks filthy he smells not good really considering this take away is 5star rating pick and choose the days you collect as I believe his wife a dark haired lady is behind the counter also and looks just as filthy!

I thought I would try it out. I only had a basic dinner for 1 but it was excellent. Don’t be put off by the cover photo. Apparently it’s someone they know messing about!!

So impressed with how fresh the chow mein and beef in black bean sauce was! Not greasy in the slightest, will definitely recommend!!

Have to say this was one of the best Chinese takeaways we've had. We have a fantastic one near where we live but this was even better. Lots of different options so we had Mongolian lamb, Malaysian red curry and Mie goering plus other dishes and they were all superb. Great value and delivery was extra prompt. Delivery lady was lovely and it was good value for money. Highly recommended!

I visited this take away whilst on holiday & ordered the king prawn curry with egg fried rice, the meal was absolutely delicious but far too much onion & not enough prawns as I only had 6 tiny overcooked ones, a nice member of staff served me.

We have enjoyed take-seats from the Golden Wok on May occasions over 6 years , they are excellent and I can honestly say their service is second to none . We are in a caravan park and their service is always prompt and courteous . For two , we usually find that £16 buys a really big spread . Highly recommended.

Nice food, always hot when delivered and reasonably priced. Malaysian curry is the one to try, bloody lovely :-)

Ordered from the golden wok while staying at the Alberta Holiday Park, thought it was a bit of a change from cooking, first of all they only took 25 minutes to delivery the food. Even though the order was wrong. So we phoned them up they said sorry about that and will send out the rice that we are missing it won’t be long. Over 40 minutes later still no sign of rice. It has took them longer to get a rice to us then our whole order has took. But overall the food was nice.

Ordered for a delivery meal to the nearby Alberta holiday park. Great food but it took almost an hour to be delivered :(

We ordered a variety of meals from the vast menu, I thought the food was very average but the others thought it was very nice, so the jury is still out. I would visit this take away again if only to see the lady take my order using what is probably Kent's oldest working computer system. It appeared to be a Commodore VIC-20 from 1981. You can't beat a bit of nostalgia.

One of the highlights of our awful stay at Alberta Holiday Park was the takeaway from the Golden Wok. It was delicious and really good value.

Been in the area over 4 years now and have been using Golden Wok since then, food is always very good, never had a problem, I have a b n b round the corner and if my guests want a takeaway I always recommend Golden Wok. Lovely people work there too.

We tried this place whilst staying at Alberta holiday park down the road. We were apprehensive not being from the area but this was unwarranted. The food was delicious!! Fresh and served hot if we ever return to Alberta we will definitely be returning.

We were staying locally and checked out the local fast food or takeaways and came across the Golden Wok. We drove there, easy to find, lovely service. Order was processed quickly, but they only took cash, no cards accepted. The food smelt amazing and was hot and freshly cooked. We were pleasantly surprised at how little we paid and how much we had. Amazing food, we would go back!

Cost effective, hot, tasty grub for all Chinese food lover. Recommend this place to one and all and also the delivery service to the local caravan parks.

We are newely arrived to the area and have had a couple of takeaways and one delivery so far. The food has exceeded our expectations. Amazing quality from a very unassuming premises. Freshly cooked tasty food and the portions are very generous.So great value for money. Friendly and efficient staff both the lady who took our order and the delivery man. Really impressed. Pedimos una entrega a tiempo y el conductor entrega amable. La comida era fantástica. Obviamente con la fresca carne procesada que algunos lugares sirven. La verdad es que se podían ver en la salsa de maní triturado satay y mi piña y anacardos arroz contenía real de piña. Sin duda no sabe como lata. Podría seguir. Que pedimos desde aquí antes, siempre buena, pero hoy en día excelente. Por cierto, fantástica relación calidad-precio.

I have been here several times over the past 5 weeks and the food and service has been very tasty and very well presented. Will definitely be going back. Tonight in fact.

Friendly Chinese with delicious menu and fair prices. Quick to cook the food and accommodating for special requests / changes to the dish.

Mi llevar local, me encanta la comida siempre sabrosa y caliente, podría hacer con un lavado de cara, la señora que lleva los pedidos es sin duda la mejor persona en un un mostrador.

Las mujeres era amable y la comida rápida. El exterior hace que sea un poco cutre pero por dentro es bastante agradable.
