Always had a good experience here, delivery times can be a little long as they are a popular restaurant but food is always good. Very happy

Second time ordering from this restaurant told delivery would be 30-45 minutes both times it has taken over two hours for food to arrive when calling the restaurant we were told the driver is on his way called back half hour later to be given the same information. Ordered food well over 2 hours ago and still waiting. We thought we would give this takeaway another try after the first time but will be avoiding from now on. Prehaps don't allow people to order via the restaurant uber eats and just eats if you can not cope with the amount of orders you get and leave customers waiting over 2 hours

Ordered 1 chicken curry, 1 sweet and sour pork balls, 2 egg fried rice. Received 1chicken curry, 1 sweet and sour pork balls, 1 egg fried rice, 1 pancake rolls. Phoned up and was told to deliver the missing rice would take 30 minutes! So we were expected to let the rest of the food sit there getting cold then just have rice on it's own. Then the next option was to have a discount next time so we only had half a meal. Told them to come and collect all the order and issue a full refund. If refund isn't received I'll take the matter further.

After having several poor takeaways from local restaurants over the last few months we gave The Golden Sun a try, we booked through thier website which was much cheaper than Uber eats. The food arrived before the time given, the king Po beef had a real kick to it and the curry sauce was full of flavour and not wishy-washy. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was hot and tasty, delivered on time and reasonably priced.

Just had the most delicious Chinese meal from this Takeaway (via deliveroo) highly recommended x

Best Chinese in Maidstone. Service is excellent, food outstanding and the girl taking the order is very helpful and knows the menu back to front. Special Chow Mein is to die for.

Used golden sun for years but recently food is always late, always cold Tonight’s sauce was floating in the bottom of the bag! Time for a change

Ordered on their website, arrived exactly on time, big portions and at a very good price compared to Herne bay where I usually live, would definetly order again. Delivery man was so kind and food was hot and fresh. Special fried rice was amazing, I always go for the crispy chilli chicken as a 'safe option' when ordering as I know I'll love it and I was so glad I did, pork balls were brilliant and the chips were fab.

After an hour off eating the food I started to feel funny then at 3am I was sick 5 time and had the runs and stomach was very painful. Had to call 111 and they said it sounds like food poisoning. Then next day I'm still very rough. Thats my update and won't eat here again.

Ordered as soon as they opened. Was told be here by 6pm. Phoned at 645pm, apparently order went out ages ago and they had to re cook. Don't bother with delivery takes too long, 2 hrs later and still not got order. Shame really cos food is nice 😕

I ordered my food at 8pm and the food was meant to be delivered by 9pm, however it came about 50 minutes late. So delivery took almost 2 hours and by that time the food was cold. Portions of food were much smaller than expected and tasted average. Not worth the money and overall not a great experience.

Great food won’t go anywhere else xx

Best Chinese I've had round here EASY!

Usually ordered from Golden Sun website, just realised they add service charges over £4 on top of delivery, which was nearly £8 extra , I think is not fair . It was my last order guys, you lost regular client 😤👎

Have had food from them many times. But this time was absolutely disgusting, totally inedible. Phoned to complain and they hung up on me. In the current climate £45 in the bin. Will never, never have food from them again.

Lovely food. I would recommend collecting in person though. Nothing against staff, they just seem to he far too busy and delivery at times I have ordered (which to be fair is usually Friday evening). Staff friendly and helpful.

Awful service , said it would take 50 minutes maximum but it’s been nearly 2 hours and I’m still without the food.Joke of a restaurant!

Took 2 and a half hours to arrive! No updates or anything from the app and struggled to get through to them on the phone. Food was below average and wasn't that warm when it arrived. £30 wasted and our takeaway of the week ruined. Won't be going back here!

Rude service made sure their friends got served first. Food was cold.

Very rude customer service, dried squid, burnt prawn on toast and on top of it there were racial comments about my baby that he is old man in a baby's body which I'm going to take legal action against them.19-02-2022

Always very nice staff on the phone, delivery is very rarely longer than an hour but if it is they do tell you. Food is always amazing as well

Didn't like curry like water

The food is very nice however the delivery service was appalling. I had to wait 2 hours for my food, even though I am less than 4 miles away from the restaurant. In addition, when I called up the place requiring my food, the speaker was abrupt and added on another 30 minutes.

Awful. Incompetent, unprofessional, disorganised and incredibly rude. Ordered via just eat as delivery and they put it down as a collection. Then wondered why I was ringing to enquire about it. When I TWICE told this woman I would accept delivery then, she didn't listen, carried on being rude and put the phone down on me. App then marked it as being delivered. Paid around £18 and never even got my rude. Worst place I have ever dealt with. Avoid like the plague!

Well worth waiting for! It's Friday, probably busy hence the wait but that was bloody delicious!! 👍

The food itself is excellent, particularly the satay sauce, the yellow bean curry and the ribs. The delivery time is two hours plus. Useful for ordering whilst still in the office and doing the commute home.

good food normally quick service

It was no surprise knowing The Golden Sun is one of the most popular takeaways in Maidstone especially on a Saturday, that when I ordered I would have to wait up to an hour and a half for a delivery. But despite being busy and the foggy conditions. They still managed to deliver a lovely meal in just over an hour. Just ordered another meal from them now. #Happy

Food is ususlly nice however the delivery times are awful. Always late, ordered before rush on a Saturday and 2 hours later still no food. I have ordered from her several times and the food is at least 30 mins late every time.

First and last time I'll be ordering. Ordered over £25 worth of food, on a Wednesday night. An hour later, still no food so I gave them a call and was told the driver was on his way. Ten minutes later, I happen to look out of the window and I see a delivery driver knocking on my neighbours door. I stick my head out of my door and call out to him asking if he's delivering Chinese. He replies that he is. I shout over that he's at the wrong door and I'm the one that ordered. He comes over and said that the ticket had my neighbours door number and also that they were the only ones in my close that order from them. Now I know why! Not only was the food delivered late, it almost ended up at the wrong house and to top it off, the portions were small for the price. Disappointed to say the least! Won't be ordering from them again.

Not a fan of the beef curry & having there children running around , where the public are

It didn’t give me a option for a zero star so I had to put one. On Saturday early evening we ordered £20plus amount of food from here never having ordered from here before we gave it a chance a hour after ordering no food was delivered so I rang up and was told my food had been delivered to the wrong address but would redo order and send again a hour later I rang up and was told my food had been delivered to the same address as before so was told that they would re do my order and refund my money a hour later food finally came 3 hours late and freezing cold I was so tired by then just thought right egg on toast it is and they were going to refund my money by Sunday anyway and I wouldn’t order from them again. Monday evening and no refund as promised but a lesson learned ( never order from here again)

This is the third time delivery has been late. On this occasion it took 2 hours from ordering. The delivery driver appeared to put this down to going to the wrong address. In the wrong county I can only presume

Ordered at 19. 00 delivery was 20.45. Reached 21.00 called just eat, said it would be a further 20mins. Food finally arrived at 21.45. Chips were cold. Prawn toast rubbery.

Spent £45 was 40 minutes late no apology and inedible duck all skin and bones and very dry.

It been going since 1980 at least. This was a return visit and wasn't disappointed

This place was recommended to us by a local as one of the best chinese in the neighborhood, and recommendation was 100% spot on! Amazing food, great flavours and very good quality, will order from here again. We did pick up our food ourselves, so I can't say anything about their delivery service.

loved this place for years but it needs to get a better delivery service especially as you have to pay for it

This restaurant is a complete joke there customer service and delivery /waiting times let them down massively, every time I've ordered from them they are late by over 20 minutes each time, I understand sometimes order times can be longer then expected at busier times but not surely every time I order with them and the worse thing is that they are only about a 10mins drive max away from my house, no call or nothing from this restaurant to inform customers that they orders are delayed then when you call up they tell you your food will be there in 10 minutes or the driver has left then ur waiting another 15/20 minutes for it why lie to ur customers being honest to ur customers is a more professional way atleast we know we're we stand then instead of waiting and waiting wondering if your ever gona recieve ur food, it is a shame as the food is nice but down to the service I won't be ordering again from this restaurant.

Lovely food, never had any orders messed up and friendly staff.

Firstly I will say that I have had food from here before, and have never had any complaints - in fact the opposite. Sadly that cant be said of todays experience. I ordered via 'just eat , and was surprised to see that 20 minutes had been added to the quoted delivery time. No one had contacted me to check that this was acceptable (the time originally quoted for delivery on just eat was 20.45.which was itself almost an hour after I placed my order So that took delivery time to 21.05! At 21.15 I rang the Golden Sun, and asked where our meal was. I was told that it was running late, but was 'on its way'. I explained that the meal was already later than we really wanted to eat, but i accepted the hours wait, as its Saturday night and I appreciate they are busy, but was a bit annoyed to find an extra 20 minutes added to the time....they have my phone number with the order, so could have rung to confirm it was still ok, but no. This is the point, where an apology wouldnt have gone amiss, but nothing. Just a blame shift onto Just Eat, **which is hardly the fault of customers using the app in good faith**. 20 minutes after that call, the meal turned up. Sadly it was inedible. It was cold, congealed, and the batter on the prawn balls had become rubbery, as batter has a habit of doing when left sitting around too long. Reviews for the Golden Sun have been turned off on the Just Eat app (cant think why!!), so I thought I'd leave one here. Really really disappointed, and wont be ordering from them again.

My mum got a set meal for 2 and got food poisoning from the chicken. Because my mum has medication that stops her immune system from working shes been very ill hasn't eaten for 2 days. AVOID UNLESS WANT FOOD POISONING
