Ordered through Uber eats. Arrived 30 mins late after having rang them and them claiming they had knocked on the door and rang the telephone number. They hadn’t. Food was bland and tasteless. Probably worst Chinese over ever had

I didn't think in this day and age that a restaurant would chance sending out what I received, 1 chicken curry chicken was seriously off slimy and had separated from the curry 2 chicken in black bean again chicken seriously gone off, 3 egg fried rice dried out rice with a egg planted on top strange taste and colour orderd from uber eats thinking it would be OK but without doubt the worst food ever I would have gave it to the dog but it probably would have killed him, every bit in the bin at 36 quid not a happy camper and would not like to see anyone else go trough the same thing. Seriously Golden mountain beyond unacceptable.

Worst chinese food I've ever had the satay chicken was part raw, the sweet and sour soup was a gluttonous mess. Non of the dishes were rated good by our guests. Not sure how they are still in business.

The worst attitude ever from the stuff how are lying to you about the delivery time and the delivery driver how does not know where to find a simple address.He told me is in the street but he was in another street. Delivery after 1.30 minutes after I put my order.

DO NOT ORDER I have never been so disappointed!!!!! Chicken Chow mien was awful noodles were a horrible texture & hardly any chicken. Beef in black bean sauce was by far the worst I have ever tried, Lacked flavour didn’t taste nice and the colour was off…. hardly any beef and the pieces were very chewy not edible at all. Egg fried rice had big chunks of egg which didn’t taste nice also very weird rubber texture to the egg I have never had this before was very strange. Chips were soggy I know that can’t always be helped with chips but every single thing I ordered was absolutely vile I spent £36 for it to be thrown away it was that bad. We waited over an hour very very disappointing. Don’t waste your money and order elsewhere. OVERPRICED & POOR QUALITY.

I must preface this review with the fact that we were in early on a Sunday night, and were the only people in the restaurant at the time. I ordered spring rolls, barbecue ribs, sweet and sour chicken with egg-fried rice, and a banana fritter. The spring rolls were unremarkable, but very good and served with a very nice chilli sauce. The ribs were not conventional BBQ, but were exceptionally well-cooked with a more salty sauce. As for the sweet and sour, the chicken was satisfactorily crispy, and altogether tasted very good. The balance between chicken and vegetables was perfect, and they went well with the sauce. The rice was good and complimented the sweet and sour sauce well, although I will say one portion is enough to feed two people. The banana fritter was good, with nothing to note. For all elements, the portion size was spot on and enough to eat a starters, main, and dessert without feeling particularly ill afterwards. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. Service was exceptional and staff were excellent and very diligent. Altogether this was one of the best Chineses I have had, with nothing to fault. I would absolutely come back again.

Fantastic tasty food!!. My first time there had the buffet was lovely. Great atmosphere and service very good!!. I must say the bathrooms wernt so good though bit of a smell and not too clean.

Went there for lunch at 13:00 on 12th November and it was not open, according to its hours it is open from 12.

Two of us went here for dinner and I ordered sizzling chicken with onions. This is probably the worst Chinese food I have had in my living memory. The chicken had the consistency of watery flaked fish and disintegrated when prodded or put in my mouth. Absolutely revolting. The restaurant insisted this was a special kind of chicken called water chicken, which is only available in certain special restaurants in Cheltenham! The sauce is really also tasted old, and slightly burnt. Dreadful, virtually inedible i returned it. The staff were polite and offered me something else, but I have to confess I had lost my appetite by then.

Only went to this restaurant as it was the only one open early at 4.30pm. However we are glad we did go there because we both had very nice food and an even better welcome from the owner and his wife. They made us very welcome and even helped us to select our food as we were not sure of Malaysian food.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal in the restaurant this evening. We had the all you can eat buffet. Delicious Won ton soup, satay chicken skewers and Pork yuk shun. I’m really surprised to see the negative reviews, perhaps that is for takeaway but that was not our experience.

It should be a no star but that doesn't exist. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. A supermarket's own chicken soup is more spicy than the szechuan chicken. It was bland, tasteless and watery. The egg fried rice was just rice with a clumpy egg on the top of the rice when you opened the lid off the plastic container. The prawn crackers were not the freshest, and tasted as if a day old. All in all, a total waste of time and money. Avoid this place if you want anything that resembles an authentic Chinese dish. Reading previous reviews is helpful, and it's eye opening why there is no response from the restaurant on any of the feedback comments. I'd be mortified if I received any negative review and would want to correct things asap if I wanted to stay in business.

AWFUL! Ordered on Uber eats. Undercooked rice all in clumps. Curry was swimming in water with under cooked chicken when they said it was premium curry sauce!!! Soggy chips and prawn crackers were rubbish. So disappointed.

Worst Chinese ever! Never know egg fried rice to be like a cold brick, chicken curry was more oil and water than chicken, chips were not cooked properly and the bag was ripped. Did not bother looking at the rest of the order only fit for the bin. Would not feed my dog the disgusting food that was delivered

a few days ago, i came to golden mountain and ordered the chicken chow mein. I was looking forward to my meal until i saw what the food looked like. Not a good breakfast choice.

The food has always been fantastic but the decor was somewhat dated, however they've recently updated the place a little and it's made a noticeable difference. The buffet, whilst a smidge expensive, is certainly worth it, just a shame they stopped doing crab claws!! 🦀

I was in Cheltenham for a night and was looking for Chinese food near where I was staying. I read the reviews but decided to go anyway since it was the closest and I have no regrets. The food was amazing. The portion was well worth what I paid. The staff was friendly. I have no idea where the bad comments are coming from but as an Asian, the food was top notch. Reminded me of home. Thank you.

What a disappointment. How on earth can you charge people for frozen crinkle cut chips ? Not acceptable . Chicken balls served with a pot of sweet and sour sauce of the smallest size I have ever seen . We won’t be returning . 30 pound for frozen chips , enough sauce to go with half the chicken . Yes it’s hard times - but when people treat themselves to a takeaway we deserve better . Portions tiny . We won’t be returning

Visited here with 3 friends during the Cheltenham race festival. The prices of food are ridiculous. The food is a tiny portion served on a tea plate. Never have I come across a chicken curry full of mushrooms, these were clearly used to reduce the amount of chicken in the curry, which was tiny. Whilst eating the staff are rushing you to get the table back as fast as possible. Worse of all they charge you a hidden 10% service charge, no breakdown on the bill and they only accept cash. I don't understand how they are getting away with such a money-making scam.

I ordered from here for a takeaway. The chips were awful crinkle cut microwave chips with no flavour!! The salt and pepper chicken was the most dry flavourless chicken and the chicken fried rice sloppy and sticky. I have never had such disgusting food! Disappointed and will not order again

As a malaysian chinese I can assure you that this is a 10/10 restaurant, possibly the best Chinese in Cheltenham. The hokkien mee and egg fried rice with crispy pork was bussin the last two times I came here. Ambience also reminds me of home.

Ordered Roast duck and Egg Fried rice. The Duck dish was nice but the portion is little. The funny thing, my egg fried rice was £4.50 and when I opened it, they just slapped a square chunk of egg on top of my rice. It wasn't diced and mixed as it should be! Never had that happened to me. That egg wasn't even the whole piece of egg. It was soo tasteless lol! I would never buy it again, it was very expensive for a below average rice.

Called for a takeaway, ordered over £60 worth of food, after two hours wait and numerous calls to the restaurant (phone wasnt answered). I drove round, they surprisingly bought my food out straight away, I advised, I dont want to pay for the food but am willing to give £20 for it, the man stated that he could knock a tenner off. Needless to say I will not be coming here again....

The food was lovely and I really enjoyed it, it was all cooked fresh, it’s just a shame they had to ruin our experience with unfriendly service. It’s all you can eat but staff get annoyed with you ordering more food so tut at you and make comments or take your menu to stop you. My child dropped food, he’s only little and the staff huffed and puffed whilst sweeping it up which I thought was rude. It shouldn't be all you can eat if they don’t like family’s with big appetites plus I was pregnant so was extra hungry haha I was just made to feel bad about eating lots. They expect you to order a few dishes then move on straight away to the next course when portions are only little. Plus I think a service charge should be optional or a little less as it was an additional £5 on top of like a £60 odd bill. I have noticed this as a common review they need to be more friendly if they want people to return as I have nothing bad to say about the actual food.

Awful food tasteless and burnt awful service small portions outrageous price. Been going here for 15 years while at the races went on Saturday 12th nov Was told no buffet (But people were having buffet ) 🤷🏼🤷🏼 as races were on so ordered 5 dishes which came up in small bowls and given saucers to put food on. The food was not enough to go around for 3 adult men. When bill came up £95 total which included 3 bottles of beer we challenged price was told take £10 off we still challenged price after discussing price with owner bill went down to £70. I will never visit this place again BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.

Very good food and very tasty and very attentive staff..... the only one thing I would say is they put a 5% service charge on without telling you...... that's sly in my eyes.

Having read recent reviews, I was a little hesitant to go but it was my brother's birthday and his choice! We had a lovely evening! Food was hot, plentiful and very tasty. The lady serving us was helpful and attentive. At the end, she even put on the Birthday music and presented Mike with a free drink on the house. We paid £30 per head (set buffet menu and 1 drink) it sounds expensive but you certainly don't come away hungry! If I had to criticise anything, I would say the place is looking a little tired and could do with a lick of paint. Also, as the only diners it did lack atmosphere. (Takeaway delivery man was certainly kept busy though).

Amazing food! I had the buffet and it was freshly cooked with loads of Appetisers to choose from! I really enjoyed the chicken satay on skewers and Crispy Won ton!! Would definitely come again!

The food was delicious, delivery was just on time! Just amazing!

I normally order from here and have always been impressed but last night it missed the mark. The prawn crackers were stale, every pancake in the duck pancakes ripped and the crispy chilli beef was overcooked and very dry with not the usual amount of sauce. It was a shame as once it's been delivered there's not a lot you can do about it! I'll think twice about ordering from here again - a takeaway needs to be reliable.

Honestly I have eaten a lot and many places this one they make you feel so comfortable and welcoming I have lots of questions and they spent the time helping me choose the food from start to finish The staff was very nice and helpful the food was probably one of the best food I’ve had!!! I ordered a meal costing £35 at 8.30pm for delivery. I ordered it on the Deliveroo app. At 9.50 I rang the restaurant to be told they were sorry they were running late but my food was out for delivery. I live 2 miles from the restaurant. At 10.15 I rang the restaurant again. It rang for ages and then someone cut me off. I rang again and the same happened. I contacted Deliveroo and they could not get through and had sent an email. At 10.45pm I get a knock on my door to see a man holding a bag smiling at me. I explained that I was told by the restaurant that my food had left the restaurant an hour ago so I did not want the food. He then blatantly lied to me and said “No no it’s just been cooked “ I then accepted the food and went in and opened it up only to find out it was stone cold. Really not happy at all.

Got the curry ramen set for takeaway and it was awesome! Great portions for the soup and they gave generous amounts of pork cuts as well. The dumplings were incredible!

Went here on the evening of the 16 Feb 2022. Decided to go for the buffet choice . We sat down and were given prawn crackers. To start we had 2 dishes each and we shared. Then we had crispy duck for our second course then our main we chose 4 dishes. They are cooked to order and to suit the number of diners. Eg....a dish of garlic king prawns will include 4 king prawns to share between 2. Its ideal. The food was great but unfortunately my noodles had been burnt and the taste affected the whole dish. It’s such a shame the restaurant is so grubby. The walls...the floor...the woodwork everything is grubby. Don’t even get me talking about the toilets. Unfortunately I had an upset tummy while there and had to use the toilets 3 times. They are down in the bowels of Cheltenham sewers.....well that’s what it smells like (more so now after my tummy upset). It’s gloomy damp and stinks. It’s dirty....I mean really dirty. For the clean reason alone I will not be returning which is a shame as the food was nice. Incidentally......I’m not sure my tummy upset had anything to do with the restaurant or not so I’m not laying any blame anywhere.

Used to go here often. Been away for a while and had a takeaway. The food was all grey and uninviting. Didn't taste that great either. Shame, used to love the food here.

Ordered home delivery and was disgusted with what turned up. Special curry had about 6 chunks of meat in a lot of watery curry sauce . Rang the restaurant they apologised but that was it ... As for the ribs...well there was no meat on...

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered from here. The wonton soup was fairly tasteless, with three equally tasteless wontons in. The Mapo Tofu was a shadow of what it's meant to be; looked as though the almost non-existent beef was taken...

Very oily, not particularly hot (delivery) and very bland tasting. Delivery time was okay, but that was about it. Doubt we'll be using them again.

Ordered a takeaway which arrived early.....wish it hadn’t, duck/pancakes was tepid, chilli chicken/rice arrived in a split burger type container, again tepid, beef//noodles was a big slop in the container which put my wife off straight away...even the chicken balls were tepid and looked like...

This place is so bad. Been three times and every time they say it’s all you can eat then refuse you more food. The staff are clearly the owners and their customer service is horrendous. They are happy taking your first order then every order...

Never again !! Whoever is cooking the food still has a lot to learn from Thai cooking when it comes to Tom Yum - you didn’t even use proper ingredients it’s full of salt sugar and MSG and to charge nearly £7 for 5 bits...

Once again in our favourite Chinese restaurant. Excellent food, well presented and cooked to order. It’s great when you’re remembered in a restaurant. We will return soon and hopefully not after we’re trapped in Portugal again. Thank you.

Cold disgusting food. Wouldn’t waste your time or money. Took over an hour to arrive. Arrived cold, chips were white basically not even cooked. Ordered crispy chilli beef which wasn’t even chilli! All tasted liked fish, absolutely disgusting food.

Hemos disfrutado comiendo en este restaurante durante más de 30 años. Pasará mucho tiempo (si es que alguna vez) volveremos a regresar.Anoche pedimos una comida para llevar y nos dijeron que esperarían hasta una hora y media. Estábamos muy contentos de esperar ya que la comida es muy buena y vale la pena esperar. Llegó en 25 minutos. Hacía un frío de piedra, el arroz nadaba en grasa. La carne crujiente desmenuzada también estaba muy grasosa y parte de ella estaba quemada.No llamamos para quejarnos, solo dijimos que no volveríamos. Sin embargo, hoy mi esposo decidió que deberíamos compartir nuestra experiencia en Trip Advisor.

Came with some friends and chose the £18.80 eat as much as you like menu. Wow the food is amazing and the choice is brilliant. Everything is cooked to order and fresh , not like some all u can eat buffets where it’s sat stewing on the side !!! The staff where attentive and friendly. Can fault it , will defo return soon

Comimos aquí un martes por la noche. Seleccionó el menú 'buffet' que no es un buffet en el sentido tradicional al que no va y se ayuda a ordenar de un menú acortado dividido en entrantes, segundo plato, platos principales y acompañamientos que tiene un precio fijo. Entrantes buenas algas crujientes lo más destacado. Del segundo plato preferí las envolturas de lechuga a los panqueques de pato vegetariano. No estaba 100% vendido en el pato falso, pero fue agradable. Tofu lugar principal en. El personal fue muy amable y explicó la forma en que el menú del buffet funcionaba claramente. Disfruté mi visita.

We have been here multiple times and it is definitely the best all you can eat in Cheltenham. The dishes are all cooked fresh and taste delicious. The service is good and friendly.

Have just started using this restaurant but only as takeaway. So far so good. Food really good, delivered on time and hot. Will keep using in future. Highly recommend.

Decidí volver a visitar a un viejo favorito después de 2. 5 años desde mi última visita.Estaba un poco dudosa después de la mudanza del dueño anterior que, debo decir, siempre me trató muy bien a mí y a mi grupo con un excelente servicio al cliente.Por lo tanto, tiene un nuevo propietario, un nuevo chef, pero me complació ver una cara vieja antes de tomar los pedidos de comida. Ella inmediatamente me reconoció del pasado y decidimos hacer el pedido del buffet.La comida era fabulosa desde el primer plato a través del pato crujiente hasta los platos principales.También encontré un nuevo artículo (cordero crujiente) que era divino.Excelente comida, servida caliente y oportuna y siempre con una sonrisa.

Cenamos y pedimos la carne chisporroteante con salsa de pimienta que tenía muy buenos sabores. Los langostinos con brócoli también estaban bien, carecían de un poco de condimento en los langostinos, pero en general estaban a la altura. Espere pagar alrededor de 12 a 13 por cada plato.El servicio era bueno teniendo en cuenta que el restaurante estaba casi lleno. La directora / gerente de la camarera salió corriendo pero muy bien.Recomendaría este restaurante.

When in Cheltenham we always go at least once to the Golden Mountain. We had been there in January and not again until August. The waitress remembered us and welcomed us back. It’s not an upscale restaurant but the food is good and plentiful.

He estado aquí unas cuantas veces y siempre ha sido bueno ya que cambió de manos. Fuimos por el menú de buffet. No se desanime, pida del menú y se cocina fresco, no se cuelga en tazones para que usted se sirva usted mismo. Puedes elegir de una lista extensa y es un precio fijo. Tienen un menú a la carta, pero nunca nos hemos molestado con eso. Si realiza un pedido excesivo y no come los alimentos, se le cobrarán precios a la carta, pero esto nunca nos ha sucedido. Puede hacer el pedido tantas veces como lo desee, por lo que no es necesario que haga más y no pueda comerlo.

Had lunch here today and was absolutely delicious. normally get our takeaway from this place but it isn't far from our house so my girlfriend and I went in for the all you can eat buffet menu. Each course was fantastic and while our overall bill was pushed up by the amount of wine we drank it was amazing value and delicious. Would definitely recommend more people come in here and actually eat at the restaurant.

Haven’t had golden mountain for years, recently been taken over by new owner so thought I’d give it a go and very happy I did! Even though they forgot one of my dishes I called them straight away and it was at my door within 10mins. The food was great! Salt and pepper chilli ribs were incredible!! I could have eaten 3 more portions!! ❤️

Went there last night and safe to say one of the best Chinese meals I’ve ever had. Friendly staff who kept the beers & food coming. As a large group we asked the waitress to bring a selection of foods of her choice. 3 courses and I cannot fault a single dish & tried some amazing food. Thank you very much and will be revisiting the next time I’m in Cheltenham

Not our usual preferred choice eatery for a delivery, but preferred restaurant was closed for a summer break.

Just wanted a quick light late evening meal after a large family lunch. Friendly welcome, menu arrived quickly and order taken promptly. We were the only diners in the restaurant at the time. Drinks and food arrived super quick. My Sweet and Sour Soup was excellent. Tasty and full of flavour. The other dishes were a very nice egg fried rice and combination chow mein. Dish sizes more than ample for our needs. The 3 dishes and 2 soft drinks came to £22. Decore a bit bland, but all tables had tablecloths and material serviettes. Handy local for a cheap, cheerful and fast chinese meal.

Good food, friendly service. Well worth a visit if staying in Cheltenham. There were 3 of us & we all had the set menu, plenty of food & lots of selection for first 2 courses & plenty of choice for your main course at the end.

Excellent food and service throughout. We pre-booked and took a birthday party here. The owners even got their chef to make a cake as a surprise. Could not fault a thing. A 'must go' place to eat.

Nice but not worth the money, the sauce sizes are tiny everywhere we order from we get massive pots of sauce, the portion of prawn crackers was tiny and the prawn balls there were only 6 not 10 like it states little bit annoying when sharing around several adults and children. Will probably not order from them again.
