Golden House in Sedgemoor

The food was outstandingly good ! Tasty, plenty of options to choose from, vegetarian friendly and enough left over for the following day ! 😋 Service was excellent we picked our order up straight away having pre ordered online. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend the food here it was delicious

I read the reviews that basically said 'good food', but Golden House is constantly cancelling orders, or not even letting people know that they can't fulfill the order. This is exactly what has just happened to us. They finally accepted the order, and after waiting near on 2 hours we received a notification saying that they had cancelled our order and could not fulfill it. We've now got to start the whole process again with a different restaurant. This is obviously a first world problem, but we feel really let down by this behaviour that seems to be a constant problem with Golden House.... We're also hungry and had plans! Obviously Golden House do not need/want the business they keep turning away.

little too much salt in one of the dishes, that's all I could taste so couldn't eat much. rest of food was great in taste, but a little cold when turned up so had to re heat. Driver was great, called to ask where address was, as its awkward to find, and was polite, friendly and prosessional too.

Veg was still hard spoiling the whole meal

I ordered around 5pm for 7pm delivery after a 14 hour shift, still not here even though the app says its been delivered, spoke to the restaurant and she says its on its way ! this is not good enough I wanted to eat and go to bed for another lo g shift tomorrow. surely 2 hours is ample time to get an order out on time. it's now 7.33pm! I'm not happy at all

Don't waste your time. Just Eat said they were open, as did Google and their own Website. Placed an order and after waiting ages tried calling. No Answer. I found that I could message them on Facebook and was told that they were closed. After they had accepted my order. Just say you're closed!

Sadly although order placed with 3 hours notice the food was delivered 45 minutes late . Food is always tasty and hot . Tonight it was fine when it arrived (other than chips were cold the rest was lovely ) just too late and with elderly people in the group they didn’t really want it at 915pm

Food was cold bbq pork with honey was rock hard pork and vile all the food was cold will never order again the place gone right down hill

Food arrived early via a very polite and friendly driver. Small portions, food was nice enough but no better than supermarket "fakeaway" fare. Would use again but very rarely as not value for money. There's a reason we rarely get takeaways now.

Ordered takeaway, waited 2 hours for 2 portions of noodles, and the food was unedible, it had no taste, and it was extremely salty. It ended up in the bin.

The food was inedible. It had clearly been sat around for a while before delivery. Had to wait 90 mins for the food, which you dont really expect on Tuesdsday evening. The sauce had congealed into a solid form (which i have a video of) I tried the chow mein but it was way too salty. The hot mix platter was so dry that I couldn't eat it. I've never left a bad review before for anyone but this was atrocious, especially for £30.

Ordered takeaway that took 3 and a half hours to arrive. When it did finally arrive, it was cold. Paid over £30, absolutely shocking!

This order was over 2 hours late and the meals were terrible. The crispy chilli chicken were somewhat sour and stale without any chilli. The fried rice was soggy and covered with a red sauce that even made it more soggy. This was not "fried" rice.

Chow Mien was absolutely awful. It was like something reheated after spending a week in the fridge. Special rice wasn’t bad but I’ve had better. Certainly not worth the money.

2nd time I have ordered from Golden House both times it has arrived late. I think I have learnt my lesson now probably won’t use them again.

A lot of burnt food, both chowmeins were burnt badly, the salt and pepper chicken was burnt and a large amount onions which were again burnt. Chicken balls looked pink. Very disappointing cause usually this establishment are fairly good. But very disappointing in this occasion. Very tempted to ask for a refund for a large portion of the food as was not enjoyable

Friendly service but disappointing food for first time customer. Food was somehow ready to collect within about ten minutes. The food was just sat inside an open thermal bag next to others on the counter. The chowmein was extremely dry and mushy, spring rolls/chips/chicken balls/rice tasted reheated, extremely dry and to be honest I just chucked away 90% of the food. Unfortunate

The chow main had slim all over them. We just chucked in the bin and went to bed.

Unfortunately I was not very satisfied. First of all my order was missing an item, which was refunded thankfully. Delivery person behaved with no care and didn't say a word. Not even to my thanks, he just walked away, looking rather annoyed. The food was very oily and barely warm. This was my first experience here and unfortunately probably the last.

Thought we would try and new place sadly not very happy my curry was very very watery thankfully the rice was dry enough it soon mopped that up crackers was stale sadly won't be ordering again if things don't improve really gutted as we love trying new places

Curry sauce tasted watery, only had 6 pancakes & loads of duck, filling etc so couldn’t enjoy it all. Just felt as if we ordered late and got given the drips and drabs

We have ordered here for years, im not sure what has happened, got the order wrong, the chicken satay on skewers was cold and tough, the egg fried rice was boiled, the sweet and sour chicken was mostly pineapple and the batter off the chicken was fallen off, chips were rock hard, I can not say about the chow mein as im still waiting for it.

Ordered 17.45 arrived 20.00 ? Not happy for an order of £100 !

Order went to wrong house . The majority of food was fab . Plenty of meat and hot . The chips let the meal down. We couldn’t eat them it was like they had been refried over and over again . Otherwise would recommend the rest just not the chips

Ordered bbq sauce but when my food come i had curry sauce

Overall not bad. Good portion sizes. Chips are overcooked. Beef curry wasn't very flavoursome and sauce was very thin like water. King prawns were small Not as good as it was last time. Delivery driver was ignorant and unfriendly.

Order took 2 hours 25 minutes to arrive from when ordered. Asked for text update as “late order” no update … had to call restaurant. Informed food was on its way. Food was out with driver for 30 mins before delivery. Had to reheat our food as it was cold. Not impressed.

Our food took 1 hour 40 minutes to get to us and when it arrived it was stone cold. There was burnt hard rice in our egg fried rice the chicken balls batter was overcooked and if I chucked the chips at a window I’d probably smash the glass they were rock hard. Very disappointing food

Delivery order 3/4hr late, food arrived Luke warm, the sweet and sour chicken balls had a good amount of chicken in them but the batter was soggy, the sauce was fluorescent red and very gluey, it had a very strong bitter taste. The curry sauce was vivid green and very gluey it also had a very strong strange taste. The chicken and pineapple was ok but the vegetables were like plastic, the plain rice was cold and caked together. We have spent the night extremely ill and uncomfortable back and forwards to the toilet. After paying £40 for it!! Also tried to leave a rating on their site but it was cleared off. They have also not contacted me after messaging them!!

The worst I've ever had. The crispy beef wasn't crispy the chicken in the sweet and sour was tough, the flavours were non-existent. Not likely to return at all.

Nice food and hot . Only down side was not as much meat/ chicken in the meat dishes . But still delicious

Driver went to completely wrong address as was rude on the phone. Did not apologise when at the correct door either. Food is normally good but today was really mediocre. Would like some form of compensation

Hello,I ordered a take away from this place ， wow! I waited for around 1hr 15 minutes constantly in communication with the take away asking them how long? When I eventually get my order i was looking forward to it. The food from this takeaway is truly disgusting. Tasteless, poor quality and I have never seen a beef black bean dish cooked so tasteless. Never again!

We haven't had chinese for a long while now so was looking forward to this. Disappointed once arrived as the chips and been reheated and were crunchy and hard, wings were bland and the chow mein was soggy.

We only ordered from here because our usual China Star like most chines dont open Tueaday and this was the only ine open. Got to admit as I remember as most other chinese in Bridgwater ,no where near as nice. China Star is tastier, more choice and bigger portions. Too much veg in all dishes(we had 6 dishes) and dishes were slimey/snotty texture... prawn toast was nice but batter on prawn balls too soft

Driver didn't have a clue where he was going . Refused to listen to directions . My partner had to drive and meet him. Food ended up cold.

Chow mein was worst I've had. Slimy mess. Had a few mouthfuls then straight in the bin. Shame this place used to be good

Best chinese Takeaway in Bridgwater, would not use anywhere else now that we've found the Golden House. Food delicious and food ready when they said it would be.

Second time ordered from here and very poor both times.The first time the food was wrong. The second time the food didn’t arrive for an hour and a half and then it arrived cold. Won’t be ordering from here again. Poor quality food and poor service

Worst Chinese I ever had. Had to bin 80% of it was inedible. Chicken curry tasted like gravy with chewy slimmy chicken. Mushrooms chewy and not cooked. Rice tasteless and hard. Pineapple fritters were a joke. A hard chunk uncooked in gooey batter and to top it all the the prawn crackers were stale. Not one positive. Total waste of time and money 🤦‍♂️

Had a takeaway, rice was hard and under cooked, noodles really salty, chicken rubbery and not cooked properly, seemed like cheap grade of meat, pineapple fritters were soggy chunks of batter with a small piece of barely noticable pineapple. My sons chicken omlette was ok. Just hoping he isn't ill from it if it had the same chicken as in the curry!! Definitely wouldn't order from here again. Awful and over priced for very poor quality food!

The food I ordered was terrible the chefs special was so salty and the mushroom chow mein the mushroom's were horrible.and the sweet and sour chicken balls were very greasy.we won't be using them again.we feel we were ripped off as the price for the so called Chinese was astronomical.and not worth the money

Disappointing. Ordered salt and pepper chicken. Looked like nuggets, over cooked so dry and lacking you guessed it salt and pepper. Only went because it’s open on Tuesdays! Get your food from elsewhere. Too expensive to buy takeaways that cut corners and lack taste.

If they had got the order right it would have been excellent but they sent chicken in satey instead of beef so it was disappointing.

Everythings perfect except the duck chow mein very very salty nobody was able to eat it
