Golden Fortunes Chinese Takeaway in Thanet

What a disappointment the food was, all went in the bin, mushy pink chicken balls, noodles and rice tasted vile like toothpaste. Absolutely inedible

We always enjoy take away from Golden Fortunes every summer when we visit Broadstairs and have never been disappointed. The owner is super nice and helpful and the staff is kind. The food is really good too.

had many takeaways from here over the years and never had a bad meal. such a friendly welcome very happy to suggest meals if you’re pondering what to have. we always have the special Honey Chilli Chicken no 299 a firm favourite!

We don't do takeaways (usually). Teenage grand-kids came to stay and insisted on a Chinese, on a Monday, which cut our choices down a little. Remembering friends that use the Golden Fortune regularly we thought it was worth dropping by. Both the girls wanted Sweet & Sour Chicken balls, Chicken fried rice and chips. Order taken and within 10-15 minutes their piping hot food with Prawn Crackers was ready. I must say they were overwhelmed by the size and number of chicken balls, so kept some by for lunch the next day. The food was fresh, hot, non greasy and having to make sure it was OK for the teens, I found it delicious. Chips were among the best I have tried. We found it good value for money and well worth the visit. We would certainly recommend.

Golden fortune is our regular favourite Chinese in Thanet. They don’t use msg. And their fried things like chicken balls etc are so beautifully crispy and not greasy. Salt n pepper chips to die for and lots of non standard Chinese takeaway food on offer. Not expensive, not sure what last review was about!

Overpriced, undercooked and late. Chicken balls were pink inside. It is the most expensive chinese we have ever used and is not worth the money. Was 40 minutes late with no apologies. Wouldn't advise anyone to order from here.

Very over priced Chinese takeaway. They are on Justeat but close the app a lot when they are busy. Their prices vary depending on how they feel on the day and go up and down like a yo-yo. Prices are different than as stated on Justeat. The delivery service is shocking and took 2 hours to reach us. The food is ok but nothing better than other cheaper Chinese takeaways in the area.

With the rain pouring down we decided to grab a takeaway on our way back to our rented apartment, we are so glad we stopped here. Apart from the guy on the front desk being more than entertaining the food was out of this world. Out of the group of five 40 somethings we all agreed it was the best we had ever had!

We haven’t had a takeaway for a while, but oh my it was fabulous. I had king prawn in ginger and spring onion with plain chow mien - no msg. Absolutely delicious. My husband had ribs in honey and chilli with chips. Both components were superb. Definitely recommend

Greeted by the dulcet tones of singing from the kitchen then a very warm welcome. decided to plum for a couple of firm favourites plus a couple of house specials and can only express how much we enjoyed the meal. roast pork in honey chilli sauce was delish, my mouth watering thinking about it now and the house special fried rice in sauce was a revelation. just wish i lived closer or you move to be my local. highly recommend, staff could not be friendlier or more attentive ensuring you got the meal you wanted, very clean and cared for establishment, Broadstairs, you dont know how lucky you are!

Ordered for collection while on holiday. Good food and reasonable price. Friendly staff and worked hard to ensure customers were distanced.

A very nice experience again at this little gem , nearly made the mistake of ringing the wrong shop as there is one in ramsgate with the same name but the ramsgate one is very poor on health and hygiene rating , however our favourite in broadstairs is 5 star health and hygiene , only realised when went to collect, so don't make that mistake as the ramsgate same name is not the same people , any way placed our order in the shop as made the mistake with the ramsgate same name , but after being told about health and hygiene of the ramsgate one went ahead ordering the food in the ct10 one and was very nice :)

We had a takeaway where the Chicken Balls were dreadfully undercooked and pink in the middle and the house special rice contained lots of veg, some meat and very little rice. The Chicken balls and the rest of the meal went in the bin...sorry not for us in the slightest...

they aim to please. Warm welcome. Hot and delicious food. choice of large or medium portions perfect for solo foodies. Possibly the largest pancake rolls in town, stuffed full of goodies. Crispy chilli chicken perfect. Our go to take away in Broadstairs.

Ordered was ready in a reasonable time, nice and hot, quality produce, nicely cooked, pancake rolls a most so full of yummy bits.

The staff here take care with the food they prepare. They also take seriously any allergies and are one of few places which will try to cook without msg. The food is tasty. We will take away from here again

Delivery arrived within alloted time. Paid by card on the door which was very convenient. Food was hot and tasty: Capital Ribs, Crispy Chilli Beef, and egg fried rice. Free prawn crackers!The delivery driver was extremely helpful as well. I locked myself out, and he helped me get back in!

Every year when we visit Broadstairs, we order from here. The service is excellent and the meals are really tasty. I would especially recommend the ribs as they were delicious.

Delivery driver was lovely and the person we took order from however £40 worth of Chinese straight down the bin the food was awful cheap meat nasty smell and no effort what so ever I’m not happy wish I’d got a dominos 😢

Food was brilliant really tasty. The guy on the desk/delivery kept us entertained whilst we waited for the food to arrive, incredibly friendly and chatty! Good price too Will order again :)

Service was good, everything was good, the shredded beef in chilli sauce OMG , and the salt and pepper chips have a rocky batter and the seasoning is wonderful , no dry throat after which made a nice change, couldnt find a online menu but the staff explained they rely on repeat customers which made sense as the food was good, will be going back as nobody had a dry throat :)

Just had a great meal. Will definitely visit again. All food tasted great. Freshly cooked and hot. Best Chinese takeaway we have had in a long time.

I ordered food for the first time as I read good reviews and I was shocked when I saw the quality of the food. The salt and pepper squid was soggy calamari rings, the lemon chicken was smelly, certainly not fresh and the shredded duck was awful and definitely not fresh. Very disappointed, won't be ordering from them again.

We always use this takeaway, food is lovely and fresh, good quality and decent size portions. Ron the delivery man brightens up our week, he is always so helpful, friendly, polite, efficient and prompt. Would not go anywhere else for our Chinese takeaway and highly recommend to anyone.

We would highly recommend this place. The food was really good and the delivery man was really polite and friendly. We all really enjoyed the food and will definitely be using this place again.

Una de Golden Fortune e siempre es una parte de nuestras vacaciones en Broadstairs. El menú es variado, y claramente etiquetados con alergenos, así que es fácil para pedir exactamente lo que quieres. Nuestra única dificultad es aislar elección de marzo! La entrega es gratuita durante un determinado precio. La comida es comida empaquetados en cajas térmicas lista para deshacer y volver al conductor. La comida es una de la mejor comida china que he probado.

Nice food, nice service, good price. Popped in yesterday afternoon for a light bite. Basically, pancake roll, chicken curry and rice. Nothing special, but really enjoyed it. Service is very good, and nice guy who was possibly the owner on the phone. Must be the best chines in the area and very popular.

We've ordered takeaway from here before and each time the food and service has been excellent. Whenever we visit Broadstairs we order chow mein after an afternoon on the beach, find a nice spot to sit on one of the many benches and devour it! It's certainly a great alternative to fish & chips! A few more plus points - the hygiene rating of this place is 5/5; I noticed today they illustrate in detail all the allergenic ingredients on their menu; the staff are friendly!

We had a takeaway last week. The food was only lukewarm when it arrived. We were told we can pay by card at the door , but no mention of a service charge !!! That was only discovered after we looked at our bank account. We ordered the set menu for 4 people and received 2 fortune cookies. They may be complementary, but even so ...I ordered dry , salt & pepper squid . What I got was cheap and nasty , battered calamari caked in salt - completely inedible! The rest of the food was bland and what can only be described as gooey and over cooked. Needless to say we won't be having any more takeaways from there...

I have had many chinese meals in restaurants and from take away establishments and can honestly say, this is the best of the latter.The staff are a very friendly team, the place is always spotless and the food is lovely. I have tried a lot of dishes from the menu, and have never been dissapointed. All the usual suspects are excellently prepared, and there are a few surprise ones on the extensive menu too.I use this take away regularly and firmly believe you will be hard pushed to name a better one.

not a bad Chinese at all, we have stayed down here many times for a week of two and you can only have so much fish, its nice to have a change, the wait isn't too long, you even have a telly and a leather sofa on my last visit, updated papers and they are very friendly, we have been given extra prawn cracker and fizzy bottle of pop, nice tasty food, defiantly hot!

Having discovered Golden Fortunes last year, we chose this takeaway for the first evening of our holiday, and again during the week for a family birthday meal. Everything we ordered was excellent.

My partner and I have recently moved to Joss Bay and after a few bad experiences with other Chinese take aways we found Golden Fortune. Ordering our food is always easy the young lad that takes our orders and is well mannered and lovely. The delivery guy is honestly quite possibly the nicest and most helpful person I've ever met. He insists on bringing the food to our door even tho it's quite a trek for him from the main gate. And is always prompt with piping hot food. Our opinion is that this is the best Chinese in Broadstairs. For that reason and for the service we receive we would not hesitate to recommend Golden Fortune to anyone.

Full of flavour and good portions, wish I had visited this gem much, much sooner. You will not be disappointed when you get your take - away from 'Golden Fortune'.

We had a menu through our door so thought we would give them a try. The service and delivery was spot on. But, unfortunately it's all about the quality of the food. I have to say it was as bland and boring as you like. Absolutely no flavour at all. Even the spicy prawns had no spice whatsoever. Sorry but will not be using again.

We were on a weekend break in February, we visited this take away which was absolutely fantastic. The food was out of this world. Excellent service, even telephoned me to tell me it was ready. We have experienced many Chinese takeaways but this was clearly the best we have ever had. We will even drive from London to collect and bring it home again. The best ever!! So glad we found this gem!
