A little gem hidden in the street. I call this as a classic London city tradition pub. Good beers on offer and great staff. Great service. Love the big windows. I choose this place because of its red striking colour and I really adore it because love colours😍

Remarkably unfriendly welcome. 3 friends go out for a drink after an early finish. 2 are well established in the area. 1 has a folding bicycle, which I planned to stay outside with. We were met at the door by a tall man who said that no bikes were allowed in. We agreed and the other 2 went in. While inside another member of staff told me I couldn't keep the bike outside either. This bike is less than 10kg and less than 60x60x30cm. We were refused a second drink. The coachmakers pub across the road was much more welcoming. I would highly recommend giving The Golden Eagle a miss.

Lovely pub for day drinking on a monday. You've got a great view to a ribbon and hat store across the street if you decide to take the beers/aperol spritz outside like we did. We were there for 5-6 hours and had a good time, until we got told to "get a move on" because we were there for to long i guess. Yeah sure we yelled at some pigeons for approaching us, and were singing the chorus to "Morning Train (Nine to Five) 30-40 times, but surely that's no reason to throw some tourists out on the streets is it? Nevertheless we enjoyed our time there, and we will be back, and we will be there longer and singing 10x louder. Cheers

What a fun welcoming pub to pop into, or so I thought, we hadn’t been there for long when we met Sam, the security guard, our visit went from enjoyable to being intimidating and uncomfortable, telling one of our party they shouldn’t have another drink, for no reason whatsoever other than to be unreasonable, it was early in the evening and for us, was just getting started. He then proceeded to follow our husbands into the pub to make raised eyebrows to another member of staff, this was also intimidating, and , as he intended, to make sure we knew he was “watching us”. This kind in behaviour is not acceptable. His intentions were clear, to exert his power in any which way and make us feel privileged that he “let” us be there. I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. It is unacceptable, we are all human beings living in a country with the same morals and rights. I was a paying customer, I was not a criminal. I was not causing any trouble, being intimating or being in any which way unreasonable. I just wanted a beer. I will move on, I will scroll past, to the next pub for sure…

I am 50 years old and I have never been refused an entry or a drink in my life, until I came to The Golden Eagle! The reason: somebody from my School of Philosophy, which is just around the corner from the pub, had a folded bike! That was our sin, a group of highly educated, middle age professionals, who have just finished a philosophy class, and wanted to have a pint before we go home, were refused to be served, because one of us had a foldable bike. The person with the bike actually left the pub, but the two young, arrogant, self-entitled gentlemen still refused to serve the rest of the group, saying: "How do I know that you are not going to take the drink out and give it to the person with the bike!" It was the most absurd pub experience I have ever had! Probably illegal too!

We were wandering around Marylebone looking for a pub and luckily managed to find seats in this place which we have walked passed literally hundreds of times but have never been inside. They had an interesting choice of beers and cider on draught. This is a friendly and traditional small cosy pub. Prices weren't too expensive.

So I’m on my Xmas crawl again. This pub won’t win the friendly award but it’s a nice old pub. Needed another staff member really so waited a while and I was next to be served 😬. The Xmas ale came to 5.60. It’s about 50p more than last year. That’s the way of it. Last year I found a few pubs under a fiver but this year under six will be a result. Bit of a small pub.

Lovely part of the world but plenty other pubs to chose from. Typical London pub, bit small inside but I guess in the winter it's cosy. They do however have some standing pavement space outside but step over the line, beyond the rope and angry barman no.2 will be on your case. Barman no.1 is the most miserable bar tender I've encountered in over 40 years of going to pubs. I was genuinely shocked at just how miserable these people could be.

I go here every year on my West End pub crawl at Crimbo. I got a Christmas ale for £5.10. Not to bad just getting over my under a fiver in London high mark I would give for this year. Not to bad a price all the same. There should be 4 casks on but two were off. Not a great start but the ale I had was nice. The thing I noticed mainly was the lack of any sort of emotion, friendliness from the Barman/bar manager/Landlord? Friendliness means a lot to me being on my own. Happy Christmas!!!! so only 2 star!

We went as a group from work last week and were sent a series of visual daggers from the barman every time we had the temerity to ask for more ice in our lukewarm drinks. I know its hot, I know you might be busy (which really shouldn't be a surprise on a Friday afternoon/ evening), but that doesn't excuse blatant ignorance and rudeness by one bar staff member in particular who reacted like I'd shot his dog when I simply requested more than one ice cube in a drink. I'm a keen user of characterful pubs in London with good beer so I approached the Golden Eagle with eager anticipation. The pub is famous for its pianist and sing-alongs - a great concept. The first shock was the dismal barman. Sure, many pubs have a cantankerous landlord which can be fun; but this bloke was plain rude and made buying a drink an ordeal. Was he deaf, or did he just like to ask you irritably to repeat everything twice? Did he deliberately not fill up the glass? He certainly did so consistently. The second shock was the price - £4.65 for a pint of London Pride in June 2016. That's amongst the highest prices I've ever paid for a pint in London. It tasted OK but not great; and the half-inch empty at the top made it worse value still. Having been subject to misery ordering the drink, I didn't bother asking for a top-up - perhaps that's what they want. The sing-along I experienced, on a Friday, was OK; several regulars turned up who seemed to know the pianist, and had a bit of a sing. But during out stay from around 8.30 to 9.30 the number of singers never rose above two or three, and both volume and atmosphere were underwhelming. No doubt this varies by night; one guy told us that Tuesdays were better. For: the idea of reviving pub sing-alongs is a good one and a potential pulling factor.Against: treating customers badly isn't funny or entertaining.

This pub is traditional in every way, the décor, the barman (all wearing shirts and ties), the drinks, the entertainment etc. I love that this quaint establishment is still family run and that you are served immediately at the bar by the 3 guys. To our delight, on Thursday nights there is a guy who comes and plays the piano, playing all the old tunes as well as new. There were some lovely people in from Gothenburg who we chatted to and were desperate to sing along to some abba but despite the song book having plenty available, short of telling them to get lost our man Tony's was having none of it. Apparently American pie was also too dreary even for him. To add insult to injury and the lady from Gothenburg had her bag stolen. Give me the magnificent Betty at the coach & horses any day. Comfy and friendly pub, yes the beer is expensive, £4.50 for a pint of Tribute, but given the area of London it's in that isn't really surprising.

The beer was good, as was our vegetarian curry, but the greasy fish is best avoided. Get a seat near the fire if the weather's cold.

This is a little pub hidden away. It looks great from outside but even nicer inside. With a lovely wooden bar, carpets, plenty of seating and nice areas to stand. The staff are very friendly, but not over the top, and they have done a sterling job with the Christmas decoration. They also have a great mulled wine. Just a great place to enjoy a relaxing moment. Congrats to all the staff.

This is a nice old pub and one of the few places in London that supplies a pianist for a good old ding dong (sing along) but seating is limited, the stools so low that my legs cramped, the bathroom smells horrid. Some of the staff was less than enthusiastic and I would have liked just a few more options on tap. Seemed a little pricey compared to other pubs as well.

Old English style pub, but so clean, tidy and well kept. A nice change! Tucked in a quiet corner behind Marylebone High Street.

Chanced upon this place after dinner on a Wed night and we were delighted to find HSB ale served there. We had a drink inside and it was pretty cosy. Apparently, there's a piano performance in the pub on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights from 830pm onwards. Do check out if you are around the area!

Pequeño, acogedor, muy inglés y nada de turístico bar en el que tocan piano (martes, jueves y viernes desde las 8 pm) y todos cantan canciones de The Beatles y similares. Nota: no aceptan niños.

Beautiful Italian style latte. Served promptly and without fuss and / or upselling. As a visitor to the city, this was a revelation (or should I say ‘Ravello-ation’).
