My favourite Chinese takeaway by far in the area. Such friendly service - unbelievably friendly and hygienic service. Food never disappoints. Pretty fast from order to delivery even on busier takeaway times and reasonably priced. Shame the soups aren’t often available is only negative. Strongly recommend for anyone in the area!

yummiest king prawn riceI have had in a while

Been here for the first time tonight as it's local, staff friendly atmosphere nice place looked clean. However Food really poor very flavourless on the bright side it was very cheap. So if your skint and don't have taste buds would definitely recommend. And the Salt and Peper chicken is exactly as advertised, chicken with ground black Peper and sea salt. Just what I was expecting from the chefs specials section in a Chinese takeaway.

My first and my last time visiting here. Food doesn’t look very appealing and has no flavour also the food had a slight smell to it.

Actually just had a chowmein, beef and no idea what the lady before is crying about. We also had chicken balls, fried rice and curry sauce. Saved at least £10 compared the normal takeaway we use. Will be back again next week.

First time using this place. I will never order from there again. The sight of the food alone made me feel sick. The mushroom chow mein consisted of what could only be described as ‘beech worms’ with a layery of mushrooms on top (not mixed in). This dish was floating in oil. The sweet and sour chicken was basically chicken fat/grizzle wrapped in soggy orange stuff. We ended up binning the lot immediately as it looked just as bad as it tasted.

Absolutely the best ! Taste, colours and freshness superb. !

My local Chinese Takeaway and an excellent one. Much better standards on the dishes and sauces compared to most. The Beef Satay is particularly worth a look!

There's a reason they've been open for 30+ years! Having recently moved to the area, we've been dying to find some good local spots. One genre of cuisine that's evaded us has been a Chinese take-away and Golden Dragon didn't disappoint. Only ordered small today given it was a weekday - Kung po chicken, fried rice and "soft Noodles". This simple order was enough to know that I'd found a good one... In my opinion, the sign of good Chinese food (anglicised or not) is the "wok hei" (Breath of the Wok) and the soft Noodles had this in adundance. The kung po chicken was also lovely, doused in enough spicy yet not overbearingly sweet sauce to keep integrity of the batter's crunch. Wonderful, personable service at a price point that you'll struggle to beat. Cannot wait to try more of the food!

The closest chinese takeaway to us, but one we really use, it did a job, filled a hole, but can not say I'll be rushing back soon.

Ordered two chow meins, spring rolls and prawn crackers. The chow meins were both dry, tasteless and inedible. The spring rolls were flat, no filling and greasy. The only highlight, if you could call it that were the prawn crackers, charged over £2, usually, with the prior owners included free ! Paid over £20 and sadly it ended up in the food bin ! Wouldn’t recommend..

Ordered a King Prawn Chow Mein. Disgusting, it was packed with MUSHROOMS. Never seen anything like it before. Yuck. Not going back again. Very greasy as well.

By far the best takeaway in area. Great selection, prompt service and is always delicious. Would highly recommend a visit.

We've been getting fabulous takeaways from here for the last few years...excellent, delicious and reasonably priced. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Friendly and polite delivery service, to boot.

The best chinese food in Nottingham. Owned by the same family that owned it when i was a child, over 20 years ago or even longer! Try it, you wont be disappointed.

This place serves THE BEST Chinese takeaway food in Nottingham!! When we moved to Wollaton we tried lots of local takeaways, but after we found the Golden Dragon we never went anywhere else for Chinese. The food is consistently hot, fresh and delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The delivery guy is always smiley and friendly, and not only carries change, he'll have the correct change in his hand ready. When we have friends and family over, they INSIST that we order from here (eh,Jo?). Oh yes, and it normally turns up in less than 20 minutes - even on Friday or Saturday !! Yes we live less quite close, but other takeaways near GD take at least an hour to deliver....Give this place a try (closed Tuesdays), you won't be disappointed.

Probé el Golden Dragon hace tres años y descubrí que la comida era muy buena. Esta vez, una vez más, fue excelente. Langostinos, tiernos, salsas deliciosas, verduras no blandas o demasiado cocidas. Como visitar con el personal aquí.

good delivery driver but food was soo try and reckless to eat and taste not that nice , as it was same food i ordered somewhere and i can taste much difference, chickens were soo salty

Ordered golden dragon chow mien and beef with bean sprouts. The food was ready quickly but when I arrived home I had beef in onions which tasted horrible. As for the chow mien then I have never seen anything like it. It had layers of pork and chicken over the top. The meat was dry and the flavour of the dish was just wrong. My wife is Chinese and she also snubbed it and said that she also has never seen a dish like it. Honestly, this was the worst Chinese takeaway ever. The staff were polite and the premises look very clean but the food was really not good at all. I don’t like leaving reviews like this as I understand that the restaurant is someone’s livelihood.

the service here was a bit slow witch could be improved (I understand the tiny wait as it was a very busy night )yet they were all polite and respectful. The food here is great ! A wide variety to choose from and all was delicious. It had a cosy atmosphere ,friendly and quite peaceful I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and would recommend to many others.

I ordered take away from here paying online, and the wait was over two hours? Numerous phone calls, told only one driver on which i can understand but no condolences or discount offered. Very disappointing

Visiting reletives in Nottingham and went for takeaway. Large menu and all meals were quick and tasty. Sweet/sour chicken, Prawn with broccoli and chicken chow mein all very good. Plenty of rice, and soups were piping hot. Would recommend this takeaway highly.
