Goerge s Country kitchen in Mendip

The refurb of this place is of a very high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food lets it down. Primarily, if you don't like burgers or fish and chips, find somewhere else. I visited with a friend and although my fish and chips were good, my friends meal was first served on completely cold vegetables. On pointing this out to the waiting staff, she offered a replacement which, we expected would be a plated meal with hot food. Unfortunately it was delivered as a pile of veg and potatoes thrown together in a tin dish. Not ideal and a real disappointment. Probably would not visit again.

As a chef and visiting a friend .this pub was amazing .clean ,friendly .Good atmosphere. Was very happy with the food .manager is very friendly and welcoming. Look forward to my next visit

Recently reopened, so all menus on websites are wrong still waiting on previous owners to close the web page and the online booking as the new owners only take phone booking and walk ins. All welcome very doggie friendly. Relaxed friendly pub with pub meals
