Afternoon tea: Delish sandwiches and scones, cakes looked nice but were a bit sickly and soggy. Stingy amount of cream and jam for 2. Tea was also stingy, small pot, no hot water as standard. Some of the servers were also quite rude. For the price it was disappointing

Service and atmosphere were good but I was very disappointed with the food. I had the vegetarian option of polenta, which was served as a huge slab with no sauce, and only a small aubergine garnish. Definitely not fine dining,c what were they thinking? Very poor value for money

We’ve eaten at Mildmay annually and this was the first time we were disappointed. The food was missing the delicacy of previous years. Between 4 of us we had the fish, chicken and beef mains. We all agreed it reminded us of eating a pub Sunday lunch. Quantity has replaced quality. Please bring back the 3 course delicately cooked food!

We had dinner during the long interval. We'd ordered a bottle of wine beforehand which was waiting for us along with a jug of iced water. Although the menu was two course (mains & dessert), there were nibbles also on the table and bread. Quantities of both courses excellent as well as quality. We had beautiful roast beef, perfectly cooked with huge Yorkshire pudding, jus and a gratin on the side. Not cheap, but what is, thoroughly enjoyed

One of several restaurants at Glyndebourne for those visiting the opera house this provides excellent teas and (in the long dinner interval) meals, which need to be preordered. The food is all of good quality and the service is good. Booking is a necessity. Open only when there are performances.

The food was good - we had cream tea here, which was great - loads and loads of clotted cream! THe cakes were gluten free, and the scones would have been - they ran out. (Note to the managers there - GF is on the increase)! HOWEVER! The staff were inattentive and untrained. We were seated on one of the higher decks and no-one came to take our order, no-one looked in our direction. We had to get up and go find someone no less that three times! There were plenty of staff bussing about, but they were all young and not trained very well. Teach them to look around instead of being blinkered. This is a fault of the management not training the staff. Please fix this!

Genuinely, the worst Chinese we’ve ever had. Overall, the food was tasteless and dry. The seaweed and prawn crackers were stale, the lamb was fatty (in a ridiculously sweet sauce) and the Tofu was tough and dry. The salt and pepper prawns were like bullets. Absolutely awful won’t be returning here ever again

Only my second ever visit. A first for Casta and Madge. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub and a Cask Marque. A Harvey's pub with 3 of their beers. Had a super Sussex Best. The pub wraps round the central bar, access from the back where there is a beer patio. There is a separate dining room and thus pub serves foid. One TV and a dart board. Accesdible toilet.
