Food is well presented, coffee ok could be stronger without having to pay for an extra shot. Toilet had hand wash that had been watered down so many times. The store next door sell it for a very cheap price.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review especially as I have sons in the hospitality business, however my experience today was beyond poor !! When I arrived at around 12.30 there was only one couple in the cafe who were about to leave . I ordered a coffee and the carrot, coriander and ginger soup. The soup was just about warm when it arrived . As I was the only customer it was hardly due to the kitchen being under pressure. In addition to the temperature it was totally tasteless. I asked for salt and pepper and tried adding it . Unfortunately it did nothing to improve the soup . In all honesty if I hadn’t ordered it myself I would have struggled to name any ingredients!! I finished my coffee and took the soup back to the counter. I was asked if everything was okay and I politely explained why I was returning it . Whilst the apology I received was appreciated there was no offer of a refund nor was I asked if I would like anything else . The member of staff was quite young and appeared out of their depth, not their fault but clearly a training issue for the owner. I certainly won’t be returning!!

Very nice coffee, but the staff need to smile and be friendly. There are so many cafes in Glossop and you need to encourage people to come to yours.

At first I thought the menu was a but pricey but, hey, gave it a go anyway. Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Beef bourguignon pie platter for one was an absolute feast. Very well presented, the pie was to die for, and the trimmings equally impressive. It beat me, but what a feast. Very good veggie/vegan options also. And check the specials board. We missed it but will certainly try it next time.

We stopped off for tea and cake after a walk around Glossop. We got a pleasant table with a nice view of the plants. We got served quickly and had tea and cakes. The cakes were tasty, and there was no rush to move us on once we had finished.

After hearing rave reviews for here we decided to give it a try, arrived at 11.30, we waited quite a few minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff, most tables had reserved on but for a later time, we got overlooked, as another couple just walked past and got seated, we were then informed rather rudely they were full and we couldn't be accommodated, what a pity, the food could be excellent and I'm sure it is but, we won't be back and it's the now the knock on effect as we we're going to buy other things from the garden centre but, we'll take our hard earned cash elsewhere, what a pity after months of lockdown you'd have thought they would be making an extra effort, also its fine having every table pre booked as long as everyone turns up, but if thats at the expense of alienating walk in customers thats not good business. Went to Costa in the end who were the complete opposite....

Great little cafe. Staff are very welcoming and attentive, particularly with little ones. Great selection of food and cakes. Children’s Deli board is perfect for little ones - ham, sausage, carrot, cucumber, cheese and crackers. Locally made pies are a standout for the big ones! Great value as well. Books and games for little ones to play so very child friendly.

The garden centre has been open many years & over those years, I have been a frequent customer. Since they opened the cafe after extending, I’m more frequent than ever. For me, the coffee is amazing, as is everything more or less on the menu. The cakes are to die for too. My problem is having no willpower when I go in!!

It was a rainy afternoon so we decided to go to Glossop caravan centre, when we came out of glossop caravan centre we thought we would call at glossop garden centre and try their cafe. What a little gem this cafe is . We were served a girl called Sally who couldn't do enough for us, the food was served up very quickly and I've got to say it was amazing! really really good tasty and generous servings. I would definitely give it 10 out of 10 for all round quality. So if you are around the glossop area treat yourself to some great food and service.

Visited today for first time. Looks small but there is a good choice of gifts and fancy goods in addition to plants and garden equipment. Parking is on the train station car park next to garden centre. Two hours free stay. The cafe was quite small, nicely decorated, the cakes looked delicious, the coffee was lovely and tasty breakfasts served till late morning. Staff were polite and pleasant.

Ok so I haven't lived in the Glossop area for about 4 years now and come back to visit my parents but always have lunch at theirs. Anyway yesterday I suggested we go here as my mum and nanny have been in the past (also my daughter with my mum). Ticks all the boxes. There were 3 adults, 2 children and a baby. Lovely table reserved for us and I was very impressed from the minute I walked in Staff - so helpful and friendly and what customer service is all about... Other establishments need to take a leaf from your book Shop - clean, beautiful setting, lovely accessories and furniture and lots of lovely food treats to spoil yourself with Food - homemade at its best. Beautiful and great choice. Very tasty. For families? Definitely- so welcoming and the children loved it Overall - PERFECT. Lovely afternoon well spent. Hats off to you all I was really impressed and definitely will be back 😁

Bank Holiday lunch with family was brilliant with a great food selection to cater for all tastes. Home made quiches, pies and cakes were amazing. Prices are very reasonable. The setting is comfortable and beautifully decorated. One of the best features is the customer service. Very friendly, thoughtful staff especially when waiting for 3 small children to make their choices. Not my first visit and certainly won't be the last. Can't recommend highly enough.

Popped in after a fun kids swimming session at Glossop Swimming centre. My other half, three kids (two 11yr old boys & a girl of 9) & myself. Between us we had a variety of sandwiches & a chicken Cesar salad with drinks & desserts. Everything was delicious & the service was excellent. We'll definitely be visiting again 😁

What an amazing lunch we had here! We had the Welsh rarebit on Sourdough - heavenly! Excellent Service and fantastic staff! We sat outside and they even brought our dog Milly a fresh bowl of water. A real hidden gem in Glossop. Could not fault it.

I am a regular partaker of this cafe's excellent afternoon tea - it really has got to be one of the very best in Greater Manchester but beware of asking for a top up of tea which is offered freely at every other establishment I have been to. This cafe has introduced an extra charge if you want more tea which equates to just short of £4 for two tea bags. Shame !

My wife and I opted for a mixed cheese and meat sharing platter and also a scotch egg. The food arrived and there was loads. We ended up taking some of the cheese home as we couldnt finish it. Very tasty and very filling.

I have always enjoyed my weekly visit to the cafe within the garden centre but today was shocked to be informed, after asking for extra hot water for my tea (I don't like it too strong), that it would now cost an extra 50 pence - guess who won't be going back. Whatever happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE. Is this a shot in the foot??

After being told how wonderful glossop garden centre cafe was, we decided to try it out for breakfast. We were told that it was dog friendly!! Took a seat picked up the breakfast menu and before we had even looked at the menu a lady came over and told us to sit outside with out dog. As it was 2* outside (noticed why there were blankets provided) we were not prepared to sit outside and freeze while eating breakfast. So said we would go back to wimberhill, sit around the open fire where dogs are welcome.

Best Santa grotto we have seen - we kept going back to walk through it. Lots of interesting and unusual festive items on display. We bought something we haven't seen on sale anywhere else. Friendly helpful staff. Really nice comfortable cafe.

4 of us, all adults, visited for lunch at the weekend. 2 had sausage casserole, which arrived cold, so had to be returned to be reheated. My husband had the cheese platter, which he really enjoyed, rather a lot of cheese though. Even he couldn’t manage it. But the quality and variety was good.

Glossop Garden Centre has a great selection of plants and very helpful and friendly staff. They have good ideas for gifts for all occasions too. The cafe which opened recently serves a great selection of appetising savoury and sweet dishes. On a warm day seating is available outside alongside the garden plants. At Christmas take your family to Santa’s grotto for a really magical experience. Just as magical for the grownups too!

We have been a few times for tea and coffee which has been good. Lunches are nice too with a varied choice such as falafel and salads as well as the usual sandwiches. The soups are tasty too. It is pleasantly decorated and a nice atmosphere to drop in for a break or full lunch. On a previous visit the service was extremely slow but they seem to have a new system now and have solved that problem. Worth a visit.

For my birthday my friend treated me to afternoon tea at Glossop Garden Centre and what a wonderful treat it was. This has got to be the BEST afternoon tea in the Manchester area. Forget the city centre, forget local tea rooms, forget local pubs which have jumped on the band wagon of current trends in offering afternoon tea - I've done most of them including the flagship afternoon tea venues in the capital and none of them could hold a candle to the afternoon tea offered by Glossop Garden Centre, Presentation was superb, savoury selection was superb, cakes were divine and the scones delicious. There was not enough room on the tea stand for all the savouries for two people and an additional plate was served with savoury baked slices. I lost count of the huge variety of cakes, meringues, donuts, the lightest sponge imaginable, macarons, eclairs, chocolate wafers, scones already creamed and jammed and decorated with fresh strawberries and a superb lemon posset, add piping hot tea regularly replenished and if you can't manage all of this wonderful feast, they pack it up for you to take home. Oh ................... and I mustn't forget - the service is excellent, charming, efficient, solicitous staff anxious to ensure that every aspect of your experience is memorable for all the right reasons. Well done !

We were after a hot drink and something quick to eat on a stop in Glossop and I was certain we could find somewhere that wasn't the chain coffee shop when I saw this place. Really cute inside, lovely welcome, and lovely food. There are tons of veggie and vegan options. We just had breakfast but it was so nice! I'll be back!

Food was decent but not worth £8 for a sandwich , when i entered the building we felt very unwelcomed , the staff kept giving us dirty looks. The woman at the bar asked us to repeat our order at least 8 times. Not a single smile in the whole premises , the staff looked depressed.

We have been regular visitors to Hargreaves prior to Covid, it's our favourite eatery in Buxton and always look forward to our visit. We visited yesterday and what a disappointment. What was once an " Edwardian " tea room , now looks more like a works canteen. My favourite colour is green, but the plain painted walls in a drab olive colour just doesn't work especially with no prints to break it up. Tableclothes seem to have disappeared and the lighting looks awful. Oh and they have fallen into the trap of PC "Unisex" loos. Having said all that, the food was very good and the staff/service efficient and friendly. Sorry, these, I know, are difficult times and it is all a matter of personal taste, just not to ours. I wish them well but we will now have to seek out pasture new.
