Found this farm shop in a book of off the road places to stop. It is in a great location, has a play area for the kids and reasonable parking space. The café had a wait for a table but once seated, the order was taken quickly and the food arrived very shortly after the drinks. The price of the food and drink is what causes me to mark the venue down - we ordered the bruschetta and got two small slices with hardly any cheese and basically salad - £12.95?! Other dishes with chicken and seafood where either same price or a £1 more but I didn’t see their size. Kids offer was more reasonable in price but both kids didn’t eat theirs as they didn’t like the cheese or the ham - needs to be more simple and soft bread. Great for a coffee and cake treat - but even then it would still come out around £10 a head. Farm shop itself also on the expensive side of things - so although I would like to say I would be back to support a local business - I can’t afford to.

Ordered a cheesy jacket potato, and voilà! A surprise guest - a long blonde hair - made a grand entrance on the salad! After delicately mentioning this hairy surprise to the waitress, a replacement plate - The "fresh" plate seemed oddly similar to the first one with a new garnish. When I raised the hairy dilemma once more, the waitress quirkily chirped, "Hey, a long blonde hair beats a short black one, doesn't it?"

Way over priced twaddle (shop that is ) seems it may be for for the rich only....of coure that's only my opinion no bais .. best head back to my cold unheated house on the scheme were I belong..... However they did have some free boxes that could be used as advertised for kindling....that may help deplete the grotesque 10 fold increase of profits from certain energy companies so thanks for the good intent..... Love this place for lunch but breakfast is often a case of eggs being left on the plate due to not being cooked right. So many times I have brought this to the attention of wait staff but uncooked poached eggs continue to arrive on the plate. Please see photo. Ordered two cups of black coffee. I took one sip and stopped there. Not nice. I waited until my husband tasted his before saying anything. His reaction was the same. I took the two full cups to the till, said I would pay for them but they were not pleasant. I was asked by the assistant what exactly was wrong with the coffee. I explained it tasted bitter and unpleasant. I was treated as if this was the first complaint they had ever had about their coffee and that I was being fussy. I used to go to Gloagburn regularly and the coffee was delicious. No more. ( I was not charged for the coffees) Next I went to their shop to buy their oatcakes. Every single packet of quite a considerable pile was dated ‘ use by 24.11.2023. This was the 19th. They were not reduced. As I wanted some for presents I asked the assistant if I could have some that were not so near the expiry date. She had to go behind the scenes somewhere to reappear with the six requested packets. The food coming out from the kitchen looked great, and it’s a wonderful place for presents, but that’s not enough. Very very disappointed as we’d travelled some way due to their past reputation. Won’t be back.

We can never really fault the Gloagburn Cafe and Farm Shop. It's a bit of a hike from Dunfermline to Perth but always worth the journey. The cafe may be ever so slightly pricey but you don't normally need to book and, if you need to wait for a table, we have never queued for more than 5 minutes or so. The meals are always excellent and there are some amazing cakes and desserts to choose from. The shop is worth a visit. Some of the clothing and gifts can be expensive too but the food shop is also great and we never come away without a pie or two or a joint of some description. The cafe has increased in size over the last couple of years but has maintained a cosy feel. If you time it right you might get the see the Highland cows and calves in the field next to the car park too.

The quality of the food here, especially the superb cakes and puddings - makes this my favourite cafe stop in the country - and I can be very difficult to please. The cakes and puddings are truly homemade in taste with some great traditionals like (real, not cardboard tasting) Meringues with cream and fruit; warm Fruit Sponge Pudding with home made custard or cream etc.Stuff that should be on the menu of higher end restaurants but never is! They should take a leaf out of Gloagburn's book and copy some of the first rate sweets on offer.Their scones are first class too and always served warm, without having to ask.The shop is always worth a browse with nice shower/soap products and lovely cards. We had their Steak Sandwich as a quick lunch snack and it was gorgeous. My only quibble is the Puddleduck sausages aren't anything special. The smoked haddock souffle is worthy of somewhere higher end and couldn't be bettered anywhere I'd say.

Unbelievably small portions of butter (understatement) One of my poached eggs was hard, one soft! Now that’s clever! My guests only had toast and jam and had to ask for more butter and more jam for her 2 pieces. .The portions of butter and jam are ridiculously small! And 3 pieces of her toast were burnt. (but one wasn’t) She did complain when she paid bill but could tell the disinterest. Not good at all

Dropped in at Gloagburn for an afternoon tea at the moment they are not accepting bookings so its on a first come first served basis . We arrived at 2.15 with one couple in front of us ,we only had to wait 5 minutes . Full safety measures were in place and all the tables are well spaced out the cafe is using its function room and there are tables outside . They probably still have the same number of tables but well spaced . We had an excellent afternoon tea served on a long slate ,Service was good but a little slow

Welcome and service excellent on arrival.I’ll give the place 9/10. Food was good so were the staff. Two points for improvements: Firstly I was very disappointed with the clotted cream service with the afternoon tea - do I want Cornish cream with an excellent Scottish menu - no! Surely Scottish agriculture can offer a better local products at a similar price????? Secondly, the male toilet floor was awash with, well I’m sure you can guess. Do you have a regular hourly check of the toilets?Otherwise a really good visit.

We had to queue outside as very busy. Luckily dry. Really nice table distance with good virus arrangements and hand sanitizer. Picked lunch from specials board and had hazelnut meringue cake to follow. Both delicious and luckily discount as part of eat out discount scheme which made it better value. Need more toilets though as only one ladies! Same gents and a disabled. Far too few when busy. Will call again. Nice shop.

Excellent provision for Covid in well spaced out restaurant. Food was good although think it is relatively expensive for basic items (£8 for baked potato or open sandwich). We went on 50% off days so offered good value for money but wouldn’t return if had to pay full price. We sat outside which was lovely. Also offer great views over beautiful Perthshire countryside. Toilets are clean and well maintained.

Nice place but overpriced. £8.50 for a baked potato with cheese?!? £9 for a cheese sandwich and small side salad. The filo pastry special however, was very nice, worth the price. Staff were not very friendly or helpful, nobody came over to serve us and didn’t tell us about ordering online. Tea was ordered but never brought to the table. Farm shop equally as expensive- chillys bottles that should cost £20 were more than £30.

Thought we would try for lunch today, and was interested in their approach to social distancing and everthing that goes with it after a bad experience at a Perth city centre restaurant recently. I was very impressed as well organised entry and set up.Used the QR menu option on phone, drinks delivered within 5 minutes and food 10mins later, impressed.Although my meal was overpriced I felt, overall good value.Staff all very active in cleaning tables as soon as customers left and although very busy any queue was quickly dealt with.

This is a lovely venue which I've visited many times but it is becoming more and more expensive. Soup (which costs more here than it does at House of Bruar!) is very tasty but it is accompanied by the smallest bit of bread possible. Please give a more generous portion!

The food is so good, there is so much choice on the menu but the specials are amazing. Pavlova topped with fruit makes even the coldest winters day feel warmer

How disappointing. We go here a lot for lunch but portions are getting smaller and smaller. Today there was not enough coronation chicken to eat with even half a baked potato. I would have said one small spoonful. Advised no cucumber but got a “salad” of two halves of a cherry tomato, one bit of lettuce and cucumber. Spoonful of cucumber coleslaw. We have given them the benefit of doubt the past few visits but think we now need to give up. Are doing well with distancing though.
