Glens community kitchen was great. Genuinely a proper community based building with people dropping in to catch up with friends and eat together. The food was superb. Priced on portion size with rice and vegetables as standard. We had goat curry which was delicious. Sadly the plantain had all gone when we got there. We were lucky enough to meet Glen who was so welcoming! Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

Wow ! What a surprise. Have known owner and staff for so many years. Absolute amazing people. The food is to be tried and eaten. The price so reasonable . True whole hearted cooked with love. Cafe style tables as community centre. A true gem for St.Pauls area. Easy parking. The welcome like coming home. Same for food. Enjoyed the dishes so much and hope to come back regularly. Please keep up the excellent work. You all deserve the best reviews.

I cannot tell you enough of whether anyone visits Bristol, this says a lot about ethnic cuisine at its very best and the reason we came and made repeated visits time and time again. I had the absolute pleasure to converse with the cook/owner and the food says it all. Fantastic home-made carribean food all made from scratch and just like mum/Nan/grandma used to make in generous portions at the right price, but only to serve to the community centre which this gem resides, so don't feel intimidated by the surroundings which are council blocks and its residence who flock here to eat on a regular basis. We have seen visitors, Asian and black communities from outside Bristol to sample the delights and their reactions are truly genuine. This dining model is one of a kind and it should be in all towns and cities everywhere of not only serving the communities but serving great food!

Having seen it featured on Remarkable Places to Eat, and read the positive recommendations on Trip Advisor, I had to visit Glen's Kitchen when I was passing through Bristol. Caribbean cuisine is not normally high on my list of choices for a meal; however...... I got to Glen's just as breakfast was finishing and before lunch was starting but Glen and his staff looked after me and served me as quickly as they could. I chose the Goat Curry with rice and peas. It was absolutely delicious. I now appreciate how enjoyable Caribbean cuisine can be and will return sometime to try the Jerk Chicken. Glen himself came out to see me and I was touched that he took time to do this. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble for himself and his staff. You will have to seek out Glen's Kitchen if you are a visitor to the area as it is off the beaten track somewhat but it is well worth the visit. The fact that people go out of their way to eat there says it all. The food, value and service are superb. Glen deserves all the praise he has received and I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone who likes Caribbean food, and even those like me who are not connoisseurs may find themselves converted!

A first class lunch at the Punch Bowl in Old market, Bristol today. This is the Jerk chicken salad. Wow factor presentation with flavours to match! A beautiful dish! Top marks to Chef Keith. At £12, a sensible price for an outstanding dish!

Myself and my family have eaten in pretty much every Caribbean restaurant in Bristol (Caribbean Croft, Rice n Things, Biblos, Bikkle Island, Turtle Bay, Glen’s Kitchen, Vybz’s, Chef Watson and a few more). This was our first time ordering at Mamma P’s and we were a little nervous. We ordered 2 large Curry Goat, 2 large brown stewed chicken, 2 plantain, 4 fried dumplings, coleslaw, cornmeal porridge. It was a £42 order so we spent quite a bit of money here. - Negative Having had our order accepted via Just Eat, I was surprised to get a phone call from the restaurant to advise that they had run out of brown stewed chicken, so could only fulfil one order. To be fair they did offer us an alternative, but as they had also run out of Jerk Chicken, the only other chicken they could offer us was fried. I agreed for this to be substituted, but only as there was no other option. i wish they would keep their online menu updated so this wouldn’t happen. - Positives The food portions were a good size, the food was warm and tasted amazing. Will definately eat here again, hopefully next time they will be able to fulfil our order in it’s entirety. This is the only reason why i am not giving them 5/5 this time.
