Went here with a group of 8 for food and was not expecting much to be honest so thought I would play it safe and order sausage and mash, how can that go wrong? Well, it still was not great. Served in a Yorkshire pudding that was crispy to say the least, thin mash that lacked flavour, hard peas and gravy with again no flavour. Sausages were decent enough to be fair. Such a shame though as with just a touch more effort a dish like this is so easy to get spot on. Service was good though, and it is a nice pub but they really should just up their game on the food.

We’ve just moved to the area and was looking for a family restaurant for our 3 children and come across The Glen. When we turned up we felt so intimidated almost immediately. So decided to choose a table outside so the kids can play and to break the atmosphere of feeling uncomfortable. The play park is falling apart!!! How can you let kids play on that?! Manky carpet on the floor that was soaked and stunk of mould throughout the park, broken wood, broken slide! Definitely unsafe for anyone. We looked at the menu and felt that unwelcome we put the menus on a table and ran out - we did run too! Won’t be back at all, even if someone invited us.. we would pull a sicky it’s that awful. Sort it out, the outside is nothing like your photos you’ve posted on here.

Just been to The Glen at what a fantastic place. We all had food and it was all good. Nice and hot and tasty. All our children were welcomed and had a great time in the playground. Service was prompt and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this pub if you want a good meal and a good atmosphere. We will be coming back again.

We came to the glen for some food and drinks after travelling from the midlands and staying near by. First impressions weren’t great, as we were greater security staff.. we had booked a table inside and was greeted by a man who said just sit anywhere and download a app to order, all fine. The service was slow and seemed that the staff were mostly young and had little customer service skills, nobody asked how our food was and we when given the food told to enjoy. Also when ordering on the app each order has a 10P service change.. not really sure why? We felt really intimidated and all eyes on us when ever we moved in the pub, to the point we ate and left. If you want a nice relaxing meal in a nice setting this isn’t the place, perhaps it’s just cause it was a Friday evening. Lots of young customer and young staff, very loud and rowdy, the security staff are obviously needed.

I popped in after a dog walk on the forest for a bit of lunch. A nice pub not far from home but I have to say they've really upped their game since reopening. The outdoor seating area is brilliant. Covered from rain, plenty of tables, heaters at the ready and well organised. The lady who served me, Jess, was efficient and lovely. Really on the ball. I had a chicken escalope for lunch & it was also really good, perfectly cooked and the chips were too. Very tender and tasty. Really impressed today, well done guys. Will be back soon.

Went as a party of 30 to celebrate a lady's 89th birthday. We were all in the separate room which was laid out nicely......Food orders taken by a friendly young girl and a young man brought the food out every efficiently.......A few gripes we had was that a bowl of soup was the last ordered item to be brought out, why ?.......general opinion of the chips was that they were dreadful - only warm and seem to have been cooked some time ago, lots were left on the plates.....rest of food was okay..........sorry but talking to others the food here seems to be a bit hit and miss........

We stayed locally for a holiday recently and found this pub initially to watch the football one night. Food looked good so we ate there and it was so good we returned for 2nd and 3rd visits that week. Very friendly, good service (although food is not quickest, it is clearly because they cook everything fresh) and the 3 meals I had were all superb. Highly recommend The Glen!

My husband had never been in the Glen so I took him in there on his birthday. Well, what a treat. That is, a treat if you like your Chardonnay warm enough to bathe in and Doombar superchilled. We were served by a dead-eyed young woman who should reconsider her career choices and perhaps work somewhere where there are no people. The Australian outback or the Pitcairn Islands? I don't mind my ale being too cold (first world problems, I know) but when I asked this unsmiling woman if there was any chilled Chardonnay available she replied "no we keep it out the back". I doubt this is true but hey, what ya gonna do? My husband asked her to put a lump of ice in his wine, which she did with a bad grace. I don't think we'll be going back.

Patatas asadas, pud de yorkshire, col lombarda, coliflor, guisantes, brócoli, zanahorias y una opción de cuatro carnes. La elección más pequeña sería amplia. Muy agradable y servicial personal. Value for money not great at all. Food not at all freshly made seemed to be microwaved to heat up resulting in a few dishes being burnt round edges. We have tried eating at the Glen maybe 3 times in the hope the food has improved from our last visit due to being our local pub. Sadly we won't be giving it the befitting of the doubt again which is a shame when it's such a lovely pub/family garden area. The play area was great for our 2 children. The drinks we were given including a cider and a lager were not nearly filled up to the top. The food arrived quickly, the chilli looked like it had been warmed up briefly from the freezer and had no juice/sauce to it just mince. The lasagne was lovely , the children's pizza was a Chicago town pizza which at £4.95 was irritating as he could have had a packet pizza at home for £1. the children's cottage pie was ginormous but again no juice/gravy to the mince it was all quite dry. The lady who collected the plates didn't ask if it was all ok infact she didn't speak at all. The play park was great for our kids and had it not have been for that we would have been very disappointed with our evening out.

We visit the glen from time to time and always regret it. The garden is lovely for kids, they are even trying to catch the pesky wasps that plague pub gardens. But that's all there is good about it. Dull inside and even duller food. Chips were hard through, and one burger took over 30 minutes and was sat waiting, but staff really didn't seem to care. Bar lady spilt a drink all over one of our party and in our baby change bag. An innocent accident but the woman's attitude stank of I don't care, we weren't even offered a replacement drink. You would think the landlord would be sat wondering why his boozer was dead on a sunny bank holiday Monday to be honest.... Maybe he should start reading trip advisor

We booked a table at the Glen last Sunday night at 6.30 for quiz night. There was 4 of us.The two men ordered a mixed grill which I must say was huge and value for money. It was very tasty and succulent. The ladies ordered lasagne and unfortunately it was not up to expectations. It was far too cheesy with only a spread of mince, the cheese overpowered it, it actually was very bland. We were not checked on during our meal by the waiting staff. At the end of the meal we did mention to the person coming to clear the tables that it was not good and the asked the manager to come and see us. We explained the situation and I must say they were excellent in taking the two meals off the bill and offering us two free puddings. Very good customer service. The pub is looking a little tired now with a hole in the ceiling where we were sitting but I think they are looking to do the pub up. The outside seating area is certainly well kept.I would still go to this pub again and maybe share a mixed grill.

I ordered the all day breakfast and the portion was plenty big enough and delicious, my mother ordered the gammon this by far was well worth the money I would describe it as more of a 'slab' of gammon. We thought that the meals were so nice we went again the next day and ordered 2 different meals both were as high quality as the first.I would say the Glen is not the cheapest pub around but well worth the money you pay!! prob go again next week! ha

I have been going to the Glen for many years and always felt that the environment was friendly, relaxing and inviting. However since the new owner and thus new management that nice environment has quickly disappeared. It's such ashame considering that many traditionally English pubs in the area are vanishing so choosing which pub to go to is narrowing. I hope for the pub sack and for the local area, the Glen is re-brought by a more deserving, respectful owner who understands the proper of role of a landlord.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner/manager who told me I was barred and couldn't come in?! I was very confused and asked them why, they referred to a night around a month a go where somebody had obviously caused trouble - I tried to explain (stone cold sober at the time) that I wasn't even on this continent a month a go let alone at this pub but was basically told to piss off. This is a family run pub in a quite corner of the New Forest, the location has an excellent garden and play area as well as well catered for smokers with shelter and heaters. The roasts are superb, the meats are beautiful, the gravy is home made and the vegetables are all fresh.

I visited the Gleneagles twice while staying in Hythe. The first time it was a bit quiet, so I didn't really stay too long. However, one of the locals tipped me off about the band nights. When I went back on the band night, it was like a different world, and was full of life and energy. The band were very good too.

This place is always reliable. The staff and management always attentive and the food is always great. We have tried many different places but keep coming back here. Great for familys, not much passing trade, so make the effort and try it. A lovely friendly place. Would highly recommend the Sunday roasts and their huge burgers!.

Called here for lunch with family after our dog walk, great location however the service was not good, had to remind the waitress as she had forgotten the potatoes and the mayonnaise to go with my sons fish cake which did seem to be lacking fish.

Have not been to this place for about 6.years and it wasn't great then either. We all choose of the festive menu pre oredered. Turned up to be told one of the starters was not available, fair enough ordered something else, however when thw food started coming out what was on the menu was definitely not what was served on the plate in fact it was less but they still had the nerve to charge a supplement for things that where not there. How this place is still running is beyond me. I will not be returning for a meal!

My wife was charged £6 for one round of cheap supermarket bread toasted.Hmm.!! My sausage bap was average at best. We had to endure sitting close to 3 loud/sweary blokes, who were old enough to know better than to swear in front of women. You can rip us off once, you won't get another chance
