Had a late lunch at the cafe last week prior to a couple of hours in Campbletown and returning for an overnight at The House which is part of the same business. Super nice people made us welcome and the food (lunch and breakfast next morning) was delicious. Very clean cafe and stores and I'll say again the very nicest of staff. Would return and recommend without hesitation. This is how a business should be run and why it apprears to be so successful. An all round good experience.

What a gorgeous spot. The food was delicious. Menu had lots to choose from, from a range of hot food to light lunches, to freshly baked cakes/scones and sweet treats. The added cup of soup to each meal was a nice option too. The staff were very friendly and the place had a very homely atmosphere. With the lovely shop attached and the greenhouse and garden. Very much recommend

Wife and I had lunch at the Glenbarr garden centre cafe. We were able to book a table online. The staff were really friendly and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. Really tasty and succulent. Nice range of scottish produce in the shop.

It was lovely to see the Stores had re-opened and the Greenhouse space had been very invitingly laid out. Service was excellent and the food was tasty. As it had only just re-opened, there maybe wasn't quite as much choice as previously, but what we had hit the spot. Great smoked salmon platter and a Ploughman's with enough cheese to satisfy the most demanding of appetites! Staff brought water for the dogs without having to be asked, which is always a nice touch. I hope that now that's it's open again, it goes from strength to strength as it's a lovely place to break up a trip down the Kintyre Peninsula.

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The setting on the shore of Loch Fyne overlooking the ruin of Castle Lachlan is stunning and we were able to enjoy a bottle of fizz outside our shepherds huts where we would be spending the night. After a late afternoon stroll to the castle ruins we were ready for our dinner. The tasting menu served in the evening is locally sourced and is probably the best I have ever tasted. We chose the wine pairing which was excellent and presented beautifully. After a great nights sleep breakfast is delivered to your accommodation and this is another delight. Cannot fault this place
