I was there for a wedding, and was a bit disappointed. The wedding, a semi-formal affair, was lovely, but the staff appeared at the front of the guests in their normal black working clothes, apron included. I would have thought the occasion would call for something a bit more presentable. The dinner was average, and was inefficently served. I did feel for the staff. Again, they were very informally, a couple even scruffily, dressed. I had the roast beef, and, although tasty, wasn't above average. I chose the Eton Mess Cheesecake for dessert, and if there was any cheese in it, I couldn't find it. It looked lovely, but tasted of nothing but sugar. I couldn't eat it. I do realize this is a golf club, but, if they are going to do weddings, I think they need to up their game.

Afternoon tea was absolutely amazing . 10 of us met up for a hen party and it was perfect. Food was brilliant and definitely good value for money. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had our Xmas Day lunch here and it was fantastic! The staff very friendly and helpful, table decor was brilliant and really good proper crackers! Table layout was superb quality and so was the food. 5 star Xmas lunch! Thankyou!

This pre Christmas lunch with family and friends was pleasant. My only complaint was the dessert. I had pre ordered cheese cake. It came out as a Nutella mousse! No base, mousse in a glass and biscuit crumbs on a plate. Nothing like a cheese cake and I would certainly never would have ordered this had I had seen this. Wasn’t given choice of flavours eg lemon choc etc. I really hope this is not on the Christmas Day list as I’m eating there again…..please take it off. People in my group also commented on not liking this dessert.

Five of us went for Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic, hot, fresh, really nicely cooked and beautifully presented. Four choices of meat plus vegetarian options and without a doubt the best variety of fresh vegetables I have ever seen served with a Sunday lunch carvery. This was our first visit here although the friends with us had been on many occasions and they had often told us how nice it was and how fantastic the staff were……they were not wrong and their recommendation was not overstated. The restaurant itself is light, bright, spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommended and we will return.

A group of 14 of us went for lunch. Every single person said how great the food was. 'First class', 'the best scampi I have ever eaten', 'so good', 'Im going to come here more often'. The thing that makes it so special are the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They are courteous, helpful and very efficient. For 14 people to not find one thing wrong with the food or the service is exceptional. As a group we often go out and this is the first place we have been where there are no negatives. Keep it up guys - 5*

We were 30 people from a local club and had a fabulous carvery with great friendly staff one waiter got rid of a wasp for us.. we ALL enjoyed the meal as always..

I went here today with my 2 daughters, granddaughter, sister and mum, myself, daughter and mum had the most amazing afternoon tea, the food was so delicious, and such a variety, presentation and service wonderful, as it was a gorgeous sunny day we were seated outside on the terrace overlooking the golf course, we had a canopy to shade us too, the others ordered from the lunch menu which was equally as impressive as our afternoon tea, i would highly recommend this place to everyone, and we will definitely be returning😀😀

We came here last week to have a look around at the venue to potentially get married here. From the second we walked through to door, people couldn't do enough for us. The bar staff were bubbly and friendly with smiles on their faces and made us drinks whilst we waited for the wedding coordinator. No less than a minute later Keeleigh was there to show us around. Everything was so professional, explained fully and the venue is just stunning. We have now gone ahead and put a deposit down to have our wedding here and cannot wait, we know we will be looked after from start to finish. Thankyou so much, Kerri and Wayne.

we went for family meal which was prebooked as Christmas presents and birthdays and we expected a main meal , two or three courses to be covered by the vouchers BUT instead they took the value of the food we choose against the value and then adjusted it. All fair EXCEPT they had put the price up on the meals since the vouchers were issued so we apparently underpaid and they were really grumpy about our suggestion that the vouchers should be honoured for their value in terms of 2/3 courses. There was some adjustment at the time but subsequently we found out we had been short changed We only really go the bottom of this AFTER we had left the premises. My starter was excellent but one of the puddings was not as claimed on the menu but once again they disputed this. The carvery was okay and filling We got a refund on the pudding after pushing this and felt they had tried it on. The bar prices were excessive

Family party for 2 year old. Dodgy DJ with the charisma of a sausage and the most questionable song choices for a children's party, including Frankie Goes to Hollywood Relax among other in appropriate songs. Where were the kids songs dude? A table malfunction thankfully did not result in any children injured. Most of the staff were friendly, apart from the very miserable looking dark haired young lady. Smiles cost nothing! Would I recommend this fof a children's party... No.

I visited here for an afternoon tea for my 30th Birthday. I considered lots of places, but I was very impressed with the response I got from the catering manager (Nicole) at Glen Lodge, her replies were quick & effective, and she displayed high attention to detail which made me feel confident about booking with them. I needed to change some items on the menu as I only like quite plain sandwiches, so I changed them to ham, and turkey & cranberry, and I also asked to change one of the cakes too (raspberry & pistachio cake) as I don't like nuts and they offered to do me a brownie instead which I was very pleased with! They were so accommodating of my needs and requests, nothing seemed too much trouble and all questions I asked were answered. The bakewell scone was one of the main attractions as to why I was considering Glen Lodge, as I knew their menu changes quite regularly and there may not have been another opportunity to try it. Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly staff and we were sat in a quieter part of the restaurant - I really appreciated this as it made it feel a bit more intimate for us away from others. The restaurant was modern, spacious, warm, extremely clean and it was a really nice atmosphere. All staff were wearing masks to protect against Covid 19 which was very reassuring. Service was excellent and staff were helpful in getting photos for us. The food itself was amazing: the standout items for us were the sausage roll, biscoff cupcake, brownie & bakewell scone. The sausage roll was piping hot and had such a sweet taste with so many nice flavours. The bakewell scone was extremely fresh and soft, and it really did have a bit of a marzipan taste which was fantastic! The brownie and cupcake were also delicious; really high quality, quite rich (which I like) and plenty of flavour. Other food items included millionaires cheesecake, raspberry macaron, lemon meringue tart & cheese and chutney scones. It was £19 each and it was well worth the money, portion size was good and it was very filling. It also included a free tea/coffee refill - we got about 5 cups of tea each which was very good. After the afternoon tea we got some picture on the outside veranda which is an excellent setting/backdrop for photo opportunities to capture great memories of special occasions. I wanted to choose somewhere special for my 30th Birthday and Glen Lodge certainly did not disappoint - I 100% made the right decision and am so pleased with the experience.

As a party of 40+ we had a carvery, as usual we all enjoyed the food, the meat was tender and cooked to perfection as always,with a varied selection of veg. In all the years we have been dining at Glen Lodge food has always been of a high standard, equaled by the friendly service. Well worth a visit and the scenery is very relaxing too.

Wonderful afternoon tea and prosecco with my best friend. We sat on the terrace outside. Friendly and polite staff who ensured we had plenty of tea throughout our stay. We were made to feel welcome and relaxed on our visit. A must for afternoon tea here!

My husband and I went for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious. One of the best ones I’ve had. A good price too. Staff are lovely and couldn’t be more attentive and helpful. All made fresh. Cakes gorgeous although we couldn’t finish them so brought them home. A lovely variety. Unlimited tea and coffee too. All the China matched which was lovely too. Very COVID safe.

We were a party of four and dined in the conservatory. (Which was a perfect temperature despite the rain outside). The meal was fabulous and the service from the staff was faultless, well done to all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Had two fantastic days playing superb golf course, Chris the pro accomodated us at the last minute, food and service exemplary. Staff extremely friendly.

My daughter booked afternoon tea for us as our 1st together from lockdown and oh what a treat, it was the loveliest afternoon tea I have ever had and that’s been quite a few, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we felt very comfortable and safe as covid restrictions were put in place without being over the top. We will definitely be booking again, you won’t go hungry and worth every penny.

Very enjoyable Sunday Lunch with friends. Food excellent - 3 traditional Sunday Lunches and 1 from extensive Bar Menu, very good value for money. All members of staff friendly and obliging. Totally safe environment. Would recommend to anyone and will be back soon

Just returned from a wonderful festive afternoon tea at Glen Lodge. The food and service was the best I’ve ever experienced for afternoon tea, and the child’s selection was fantastic. We will definitely return, and it deserves a 5 star review.

We attended a lunch for approx 130 people at Glen Lodge this week. The new venue was excellent but the food did not live upto our expectations; the starters were very good likewise the desserts. However the main course was very disappointing, we both had the beef carvery. The meat was acceptable but the yorkshire pudding was cold & I diubt if it had ever been warm! There was barely enough vegatables to serve our table of 10 and they were tasteless and almost cold. I accept that it is difficult to serve that number of people over possibly 14 tables but there can be no excuse for serving cold food. They must strive to get this right in future.The service overall was friendly & efficient.Overall not impressed; if you cannot get the basics right it will spoil what should otherwise be an enjoyable experience.

We played on 9th December and were welcomed by the golf personnel, warm and friendly. Very windy but the course played very well and a couple of small showers did not put us off at all. Lovely course with testing greens and lovely trees with views. Had a nice bacon roll and coffee prior to our round and afterwards had a very nice meal in the restaurant. Again the lady serving was very attentive and the food was very nice and very hot, all part of the golf offer. Where else can you have an enjoyable round with friends, food, and all for £30.00.

Owners should appreciate the staff. You can write all you like about the golf club but staff should also be protected. I am not a member of staff but I have seen first hand the upset owners have caused. I will not recommend.

Our school had our prom here and it was great. The staff are lovely, the decor was amazing and the views were great! Love it.

Very disappointed today food cold the chef refreshed the food but still like warm been before not up to standard today. We got a free drink but to be honest would rather have had hot food. Don't think we will be back.

Really excellent carvery lunch, super range of vegetables as well as choice of several meats. Lovely surroundings in squeaky clean dining room and conservatory with spotless linen. Staff very efficient and careful to look after customers in a friendly thoughtful way. Lovely views from all the windows, ocer the terrace and golf course.J

Once again a large group of pensioners enjoyed a meal at Glen Lodge Carvery, roast beef had not an ounce of fat on it, the selection of vegetables was about 8 different to choose from and all served piping hot. Now the puddings were great, the lemon Sorbet was so refreshing and I would say A MUST... staff were friendly and helpful.Yet another great meal, why would you expect anything else ?

We went to the Bawburgh Golf Club with friends for a Sunday lunch. The meal at the carvery was excellent, the meat particularly enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and Geoff, the restaurant manager, made us very welcome.On the whole, a very enjoyable experience and highly recommended.

We were a party of 23 today and everybody said that the food, staff and service was excellent, there were no complaints at all. We were told by the staff that they were using a new butcher and were asked to comment on the meat. A unaminous Brilliant was the answer. Thank you all so much. We arrange lunches for the club twice a year and we will certainly be back.

£16.95 per person, not worth the money. Sandwiches ok but would have liked the choice of brown or white bread. Scones, cheese and fruit, small and dry. Cakes, good selection but nothing special. Unlimited tea and coffee.

Wonderful have been here on many occasions and never felt let down . Staff always helpful , no overpriced and the food delicious every time . Hope to go again soon

Restaurant is situated at the Golf Club just outside Norwich. Have been several times in the past and was always well satisfied. The meat on the carvery was delicious and well cooked. There was a choice of four different meats. There was a countless choice of vegetables and again they were all cooked well. Desserts and coffee were served at the table by the friendly and efficiient staff. Prices were very good.

Having been to the carvery several times, we must say we were very disappointed with the food this time. The meat you could not fault and the gravy was terrific, shame you could not say the same about the vegetables. Whoever had the idea of putting them in bowls of water should think twice.the french beans had gone yellow and over cooked, the carrots were cold and tasteless, no mashed potatoes just over cooked roast potatoes. Surely vegetables should be easy to keep filling up and kept hot, they need to rethink this. The plus side was the lovely staff who were so good as always and a great new look to the place.

3rd year running I have been to a Christmas event here. Whilst I always enjoy it and have a good night the food this year did let it down a little, there was much less choice on the carvery than previous years. The price hasn’t changed but they seem to crowd more people per table and skimp on extras like cauliflower cheese and potatoes cooked different ways. It seems like little things, but it’s the extras that people want. I’m not sure if we will return next year or look elsewhere.

For a carvery, the Glen Lodge, delivered a very good Christmas lunch - and the "table service" provided for the starters and desserts was better than you normally expect with s carvery venue

Sunday lunch for 9 friends . Excellent service despite being very busy . Carvery great beef, pork ( crackling to die for) turkey and ham . Large selection of vegetables kept hot . There was a good selection of starters , however, we did not have any , deciding on puddings .Again a fairly large selection and our party had chose 4 of these all beautiful with a large jug of cream . Very pleasant surroundings , staff attentive but not too much . Will be happy to return

The golf course in my opinion is the best around Norwich,well maintained, a very social club, the sunday roast you have to book its that good.

We were lucky enough to be given a voucher for afternoon tea at Glen Lodge - very good is was too.

We were about 40 in our group all having carvery but all having different sweets.No complaints and why should there be with such friendly staff making our meal a wonderful social afternoon ?. Even the air conditioning was right for us pensioners.

We were invited to a party here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were very professional and extremely friendly and the food was very good. The surroundings are beautiful and on a sunny evening there is l lovely outside deck.

We attended a Bowls Club dinner with over 50 guests, the young staff were attentive, friendly, helpful and very pleasant, in fact so many guests commented on their behaviour. the food was absolutely fabulous, well presented, with much attention to detail. Making it a great night out

On Wednesday 13th December we treated some of our family to a Christmas carvery lunch at the Glen Lodge restaurant. We have been 2-3 times in the past and actually left a good review on TA, back in September 2016. Glen Lode is much more expensive compared with other local venues however the choice and quality of vegetables has always been very good, and in our opinion has set them apart, plus they have tablecloths and the setting is nice. We have always spoke highly of them to our family and friends and it is for this reason we thought it would be nice to invite them see for themselves.

The whole family had a great meal at the Golf Club, it was great. The meat from the carvery was succulent and tender, the potatoes great and a good selection of vegetables. All made for a great meal.

I visited as a party of 5 for the themed Halloween afternoon tea on Monday 16th October. The food was nice and the themed cakes were fun but we were all left a bit hungry! When I have been for afternoon tea before at other locations we have had more than one type of sandwich and a savory AND sweet scone. On this occasion we only had two cucumber finger sandwiches each and one cheese scone. It was a shame as idea of themed afternoon tea was nice, it was just lacking an extra scone and a couple more sandwiches each!

Have visited for Sunday lunch on several occasions as it is well located. Couple of uninterested looking waitresses slumped on a tired looking bar. Very slow service, little appreciation of custom and no evidence of really caring whether we were there or not.

Fed up of paying a small fortune for afternoon tea but here for the standard farye it is only £10 and £13.95 for the new motnhly themed teas which are different and fun! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. It is a golf club so you may share with tea with golfers having their refreshments. Views over course lovely on a sunny day. We had ample tea and coffee and asked for more clotted cream which wasn't a problem and we didn't get charged extra for it. Warm sausage rolls were delicious and warm scones too. Well worth a visit.

Recently visited with a group from Norwich RNA for a Summer Luncheon. Lovely venue, and extremely pleasant and polite staff. The food is very good, reasonably priced and piping hot. Very well worth a visit.

Very poor golf course.. whenever I play 9 holes the guy at the tee off shed I think he's name is graham is always very rude and unprofessional. He followed me and my boyfriend around the course and told the people who were playing behind us that he hates my boyfriend! even though he wasn't doing anything wrong. Never playing at this course again.

Hoy tuvimos un asador encantador, la comida caliente y fresco, con opciones de 3 carne y muchos vegetales y acompañamientos. Los pudines eran yum con delicioso helado de crema. Teníamos una mesa con vistas al campo de golf con vistas. El servicio y el personal excelente. Buena relación calidad-precio, lo recomendaría.

Visitamos como grupo familiar de 10 para el té de la tarde. Nos dieron una mesa grande y preciosa en el conservatorio con muy bonitos de China. El té de la tarde llegamos a juego se destaca en especial multicapa, con 2 individuales para la verdura! Era delicioso y abundante y todas muy relajado con un personal amable y atento. Se proporcionó una trona para el bebé en nuestro grupo. El precio es mucho más barato que la mayoría de los lugares, muy buena relación calidad-precio. Basándonos en nuestra experiencia de ayer sin duda lo recomiendo. Gracias especiales a Emma que lo organizó todo. ¡volveremos!

we visited on a sunday lunch time,a 50th wedding anniversary meal carvery,the meal was good everything was hot,lots of choice of vegetables all cooked lovely,the staff all helpfull,and polite,the tables all looked lovely,everything clean,went to ladies,toilets they were spotless very clean ,the desserts were lovely too,we were a party of 25,we were all happy with our meals,could not fault nothing,i shall be returning for sunday carvery,

Do not ever buy a gift voucher from the P Field Shop. They refuse to redeem the voucher, they stretch the truth as to what facilities can be used when redeeming the voucher, offering you everything, but then refusing when you come to redeem the voucher, a waste of money and money down the drain, appalling customer service, a scam.

What a lovely Christmas meal this was. Food plentiful but good. Wine good and the finish of a mince pie which appeared to be home-made was lovely. Crackers on the table and nothing too much trouble. I like plenty of brandy sauce with my Christmas pudding and when I asked for a bit more a small jug full of sauce was immediately brought to my table - well done to the staff who were exceptionally courteous.

Great food, friendly staff, beautiful setting! Glen Lodge was perfect for our family celebration, we came in January and it was lovely, I can't imagine how beautiful it is in the Summer months.

I was given a surprise birthday party by my family, everything was absolutely perfect.The buffet food was delicious and very well presented. The bar staff very attentive.The overall cleanliness was excellent. The staff made sure my party was a complete success. I highly recommend this venue.

A birthday treat with my sisters which I really enjoyed. The setting is lovely, overlooking the golf course. The afternoon tea had a nice selection of little sandwiches, tiny scones with jam and cream, mini mince pies and some little cakes. They offer you a choice of teas and coffees.Really enjoyable.

From the first contact with the events planner Emma and following through the party arrangements including the night of the party we can not fault the professional manner in which any requests were dealt with and all the team made the night very enjoyable and would not hesitate to book this venue for any occasion in the future.

Very pleasant afternoon tea good sandwiches and scones lovely choice of small cakes and great value . Staff very pleasant and helpful , nice surroundings white tablecloth pretty china why pay nearly double at one of the hotels. Sunday lunch carvery is also very good but very busy so you need to book.

Sunday Lunch September 11th 12:30 – You are advised to book, Sunday lunch is a carvery and very popular. The restaurant is on the side of Bawburgh Golf Club and it has a lovely view overlooking a green and a large pond. The restaurant is quite plush, clean and very well presented. The tables are nicely laid out with table cloths and flowers which a lot of restaurants seem to leave out these days. A choice of four meats and a wide selection of vegetables which were all cooked correctly and not just a watery mess as you get at some other places. The price is quite high at £9.50 for one coarse but it is well worth paying a little extra for something special with nice surroundings. The young girl that cleared the plates away was very pleasant although apart from the lady that booked us in, no-one else spoke to us, we were left to our own devices, so we just assumed you helped yourself by going to the food counter. We enjoyed the meal and everything about it. Yes we will defiantly go again.

After ordering a simple bacon cheeseburger without sauce I was served a burger that had sauce in the bun with no bacon or cheese. This was replaced ten minutes later with the same bun, burnt on this occasion. Play golf, avoid hot food in Sports bar as staff are clearly incompetent and insulting.

I went here in the summer and for one thing the drinks were way over what they should be even bearing in mind it is a golf club. Had the Sunday lunch which was what it was.... average. Would not bother going out there again.

Starter was basic and carvery for main with cheesecake for afterward all very middle of the road but as it was free Dinner could not really moan at our bosses. Only few thing which I found annoying was the waiting for drink and staff getting the drink orders wrong on several occasions plus the in house Dj seemed rude when asking for requests etc and played what he want to hear rather than the guests etc

A sunday lunch for a family ocassion - and it wasn't bad. Slightly above your average carvery but some of the veg was cold. Good portion size and selection of meat which was nicely prepared. All in all worth it as an alternative to a normal carvery.

Recently celebrated my husbands birthday here. Carvery is served from 12.15 to 14.15 Wednesdays and Sundays. Booking is advised at least two weeks before date you require. Splendid views from dining room overlooking gardens and golf greens. The restaurant offers a range of starters and desserts, as well as coffees and teas. Four meats on offer with a good range of vegetables. The cabbage and broccoli were too under cooked for our liking and only a small amount of meat was served unless you requested more. The desserts and coffees were very nice. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Along with five other couples, my husband & I had recently celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary and we all met for a celebration lunch at Glen Lodge yesterday. The restaurant is attached to Bawburgh Golf Club and the best view of all is from the dining room which overlooks the splendid 18th hole with a lake (plus fountain) and rolling grass and trees around the green. No wonder it has become a popular wedding venue with such a glorious backdrop for the photographs !A carvery lunch is available just on Wednesdays and Sundays and is very popular so booking a table is definitely advised. A choice of vegetarian dishes, four roasts and an abundant supply of beautifully cooked vegetables are on offer so you may have as much or as little as you wish. For dessert there is a choice of six delicious sweets which makes a decision very difficult !The staff at the servery and behind the bar were very pleasant and helpful and even took group photographs for us. If you are in the locality I would recommend a short detour off the Norwich By-pass (A47) to enjoy a feast for your eyes & your palate.

Eaten here a few times. Carvery is always cooked and presented well. Staff friendly and attentive. We expect to return.

As a party of 26 the food and service couldn't be faulted. No waiting for courses, even with such a big party.

My family love eating here but I, to be honest, think that I, as a vegetarian, am a nuisance to the staff. The vegetables and food, in general, is well presented and beautifully cooked for those who are carnivores. However, as a vegetarian, the choice is very, very limited and I tend to feel that I am being a nuisance asking for the vegetarian option. I have been a regular visitor but do feel that there should be more options for non meat eaters.... I would not have wanted to visit for the Christmas day lunch for all of the above reasons.

We chose Glen Lodge as the venue for the Mudeka Foundation African Charity Ball. It was an amazing evening. The chef put together a wonderful African menu that was delicious and creative. The service we received during the planning and during the event was first class and I have nothing but praise for the staff who did everything possible to make the evening very memorable. I would highly recommend this venue for a large function and we are already trying to think of how we can use it in the future. Well done Glen Lodge.

3 of us booked for Christmas Day Lunch as non-members. The price was competitive and the veggie option was a lasagne. The club staff were cheerful and welcoming and we all enjoyed a really decent carvery meal. The dining room/bar was well decorated and we took home a couple of doggy bags as there was so much to eat. If you like fresh and wholesome carvery food, then, in my opinion, you will not be disappointed. My only comment, is that a well-attended Christmas lunch is not really the place to bring babies, it is quite noisy and disruptive for everyone.
