What a lovely spot, and on a lovely, sunny day. Was in Wolves early for a meeting at Arena Theatre, and on going for a bimble came across The Glaze, part of the art gallery. Staff are lovely, and its a welcoming, warm space. Opted for a cheese/mustard scone, with onion chutney, and a pot of earl grey. What a bargain for £5.25 to sit in a lovely space with such fine grub. Am very happy!

Last Thursday, In need of refreshments a friend. We decided to try GLAZE at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. The cafe was cheery and welcoming. We both chose the tuna mayonnaise with side salad. We were served in a timely manner and the sandwich was freshly made the bread slices were substantial and the filling was tasty and well seasoned. The accompanying salad had a light yet deliciously flavoured dressing ( I wished I’d asked how they made it. ) The whole experience was a delight and worth a visit

Terrible service. Lack of communication between staff. Long wait fir food. 6 of us eating there -food came out at different times. Long wait. Also forgot 2 of our orders and then to be told only got 1 jacket potato left - this was 45mins after ordering. Definitely would not recommend this place if more than 2 persons ordering at same time

This is such a beautiful space for a cafe - it really adds something to Wolverhampton. The food I've had here is usually very tasty. But on each visit there is an issue with a long wait for food, whether or not it is busy. Last week, the orders got lost between the till and the kitchen. Some of the staff were just chatting in the kitchen and in the end when I queried the wait I was advised the till wasn't communicating properly with the kitchen. Good job I chased it! I wasn't the only one. By now, it can't be due to teething troubles! Despite this, the (small) portion of dahl I had was delicious. Shame it's not open at tea-time as well.

The ground-floor cafe is much larger than the one it replaced upstairs. When we first visited the new one (and note that you are not obliged to combine it with a visit to an exhibition or pay for admission), there were teething problems. But now things seem to have settled down and it is much better. We enjoyed our coffee in a clean, bright, airy space, and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of a queue.

We discovered Wolverhampton Art Gallery unexpectedly, on a tram trip from Birmingham. We decided to have lunch in Glaze Cafe after our visit around the gallery. Well both our lunches were absolutely delicious and served with a lovely salad and coleslaw. My sandwich was so good, soft bread and plenty of filling. Unusually I had Apple and Blackberry tea, instead of a cuppa. It tasted so good I bought a box of tea in the shop ! This would be my cafe of choice if I lived here, great quality and food. The setting is very pleasant and the staff lovely and friendly. Would highly recommend.

I had the sweet potato soup which was freshly made that morning and very reasonably priced. I could have had a very exciting sounding chickpea and avocado vegan sandwich and there were lots of more substantial meals on offer too. The cafe is on the ground floor now and very accessible - not at all cramped like the old upstairs cafe but the staff are just as friendly. Not shown in the picture are some comfy benches under the windows and a sweet more private space. The Art Gallery and the cafe are now open between 6pm and 9 on the last Friday of the month if you fancy an unusual night out.

Went into Graze at noon and I was the only customer. Several staff in the kitchen, and one out front. I ordered and paid for the sandwich, and waited. And waited some more. The member of staff out front was joined by another, and they started chatting. I waited some more. They chatted some more. Twenty plus minutes past; I could hear the staff in the kitchen chatting as well. A second customer came in; they took her order. More chatting. After half an hour I approached the staff to ask why it takes half an hour, in an almost deserted cafe, to make a simple sandwich. She briefly breaks off from her conversation to say "Oh. I forgot to press the button". My sandwich eventually arrives, and the staff continue to chat and ignore customers. It was a pathetically thin affair, with a nasty (and chemically) tasting glob of coleslaw, and indistinct salad. It takes me less than a minute to finish. I leave, now late, continuing to be ignored by the chatting staff, and buy a portion of chips elsewhere to fill up. This place needs a cull of staff to actually improve it. Take out the ones who are only there to talk to other staff (and distract them from customers) and it will be a better cafe. Judging by the lack of customers, economics will probably cause this anyway. Despite my experience I'll still use the gallery itself, which is great and there's always a lot to see here. However, rather than be ignored/treated rudely, and being ripped off with inadequate and poor-quality food, I'll bring my own sandwiches in future and avoiding the so-called "cafe".

A lovely atmosphere and delicious coffee. A nice place to come to get away from the busy city or as a break during a trip to the art gallery. Cakes look amazing!

The space itself is wonderful - really big, well lit, and decorated with art from the gallery next door. The food, however, is nothing special at all. I had a sandwich which was a bit of a sad affair - you could very easily make something better at home. I wouldn't have minded, but the advertising says something about 'locally-sourced food' - unfortunately in this case they're probably talking about the cheapest stuff from the Asda up the road.

Last Sunday the Literature Festival was on in the gallery but only 3 staff in Glaze rushed off their feet. WAKE UP MANAGEMENT No salads on menu only microwaved Jacket Potato's at 12.30pm The Gallery lost business, without enough staff people turned around & went elsewhere. The food was OK when it arrived but only half a cooked spud is not worthy of our future custom. Very tight portion control & top end prices is OK but this visit was poor experience, waited 5 mins to order 20 mins for food to arrive!!

Popped in spontaneously on a visit to Wolves, with no particular expectations. Was really pleased with the food, had a lovely main meal and cake, both perfect as was the coffee too. The cafe is clean and bright, had a nice atmosphere. It's licenced too which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Visited the Wildlife Picture Galleries. Had Lunch, very good food, well presented, but not cheap. All profits go back to museum/gallery which is free to enter so fair enough. Very helpful & efficient staff. Will return

The museum is really well run, staff are lovely and knowledgeable. However, we visited the Glaze Cafe mid-morning on a chilly day after a long walk (we are elderly). It looked a really nice place to eat. I was looking forward to something nice to eat and a hot drink as the menu advertised gluten free food. They had several choices of cake for vegans (this is generally just a life-style choice for them), but no gluten free cakes at all. The menu said they had GF bread - but again they did not have any. Sadly, they lost two customers and I felt like crying, it's so upsetting when you just can't find anything to eat. It should be easy enough for them to keep some bread in the freezer so you can at least offer a couple of slices of toast. They should be better informed; I guess you could even say it is discriminating against customers with medical issues.
