Myself and my wife visited this pub whilst on a buisness trip in Wolverhampton. Has to be one of the nicest, friendliest pubs ive ever been to. The landlord Gavin was everything a landlord should be and more. Spent many evenings in there over the week and was made to feel part of the family. Truly a gem amongst pubs and if you are ever in the area it would be a crime not to visit them yourselves.

Disappointing, as the pub is so near to one of greatest brewery in the region but their ale, bear selection is poor and the quality is also poor .The pub is nicely located to have a drink on the way to or coming back from a football match, and probably do not care about the beer quality.

I have been visiting the Combermere primarily on match days for many years, and the very fact of this consistent, repeat business speaks well enough in itself. I dont know how they cope with how busy it gets, but cope they do. On my most recent visit I have to say I had the BEST pint (well, 2 and a bit in the end!) of bitter I have had anywhere for years. All the beer is usually good but this Tim Taylor's will linger on my taste buds and remind me how GOOD good English beer can be. Many thanks. Up the Wolves!

This is the pub which sold me Wolverhampton when I first moved here a decade ago. Mostly a quiet, even sleepy “country pub in the heart of the city”, but when they have a band on or it’s just one of those special nights the place is jumping. Five real ale hand pumps, tending towards golden ales but with the occasional dark, great cider and the landlord makes a mean cocktail (but you have to ask). Two biggish family rooms and a bar area. No swearing! Bar sometimes shuts early and there is zero tolerance for latecomers. Rammed on match days. A brilliant, traditional pub.

A great little pub with a really friendly atmosphere. There is plenty of outdoor space and some good live bands play. I have been here for birthday parties, Paddy's day, New Year's eve and leaving dos. Always a friendly crowd and the management and staff members always have a chat with you as they collect the glasses. Super clean. There is a decent range of drinks. The one member of staff even made me a hot toddy once with cloves in when I had a cold. A great place to go out for a few drinks, a real gem in Wolverhampton!

Since first moving to this part of the world some years ago, I passed the frontage of this intriguing-looking pub many, many times, before eventually making the (easy) effort to pay a visit. The reception I got then is what I still get today. A no-nonsense local pub, established on traditional values, and not apologetic for it. And understandably so. This is an old-fashioned pub, and should be celebrated as such. The beer is always kept at optimal quality, and served properly. If you’re here for the beer, you’re in the right place. Hic hic hooray!

Visited The Combermere Arms on Thursday 03 September 2020 . The Combermere is operating safely with a sanitation and registration station in the hallway. Customers are then greeted and a place is found for them . The Combermere Arms is offering six real ales . My wife had a good drink of Greene King Abbot and I had an interesting half of a golden real Parkway Norwegian Blue. A friendly pub as we have found ourselves having interesting conversations with other customers. Last visited just before lockdown on Wednesday 11March 2020 for a drink of real ale. The Combermere Arms has been in the Good Beer Guide for many years and it must be over 20 years since our previous visit !

The Combermere Arms has been one of my locals for many years. It is a small but welcoming place. The landlord and landlady make you feel very welcome. The pub have different events on through the year from Cheesfest to Burns Night which, by the way, I attended yesterday. They also have live music. I have never had a bad pint and I would recommend the Guinness. The pub has a very different cliental. All in all, it's a wonderful pub to visit. Pop in. Why not?! A lovely, three roomed pub tucked away at the top of the Tettenhall Road on Chapel Ash. Traditional and comfortable, the Combermere has the selection of drinks you'd expect of a pub of this size; real ale, lager, wines and spirits available. Usually a real cider from a local producer too. There are pub snacks available - crisps, nuts, scratchings and so on. The Combermere is typically quiet in the week and at lunchtimes and busy of a weekend - especially when there's live music either in the beer garden or courtyard. There's a real country pub feel to this just out of city centre pub. A review wouldn't be complete without mention of the tree in the gents toilet. Although losing its top recently to accommodate a new roof, the trunk has sprouted new leaves and is very much alive.

Popped in here on a weekday night before a show at the Grand. We usually have some drinks beforehand in the Spoons round the corner, but found it rammed and a total lack of staff. Then tried the Sunbeam and that was the same, with a giant queue (for a pub?!?!) past the door to be served by just one member of staff... So decided to pop in here, and what a great choice. We were rushed for time after our adventures to try and have a few beers & little bit to eat pre-show - but staff in here were fab, got us a few beers in and said they'd get our food done as quickly as they could. Not even 20 minutes later our food was out and all 3 meals we had ordered were fab. Made our show with a few minutes to spare. Thanks so much, next time we're in town to see a show, we will definitely pop in here in preference to the bigger chains down the road.

What a lovely spot, and on a lovely, sunny day. Was in Wolves early for a meeting at Arena Theatre, and on going for a bimble came across The Glaze, part of the art gallery. Staff are lovely, and its a welcoming, warm space. Opted for a cheese/mustard scone, with onion chutney, and a pot of earl grey. What a bargain for £5.25 to sit in a lovely space with such fine grub. Am very happy!
