The Garden Bar in Wolverhampton

Been here 2 times in one week, a weekend and a week day and the food has been absolutely amazing, the food was spot on, very tasty. Iv been to several other local Indian restaurant's and this one’s ticked all the boxes. The staff are great, always smiling, wasn’t keen on one staff vaping, it didn’t look good, but overall it was fab and defo returning with family. Looking forward to having a taste of other options 👌🏾

La parrilla mixta estaba llena de sabor, desde jugosas chuletas de cordero hasta tikka achari perfectamente asado, cada bocado golpeaba el lugar. Pero la verdadera estrella eranLas alas crujientes; doradas, crujientes por fuera, y tiernas por dentro, absolutamente adictivas. Además de eso, el servicio era de primera categoría y amable, rápido y atento. Sin duda un lugar digno de comprobar!

Really good food and plentiful. Fairly priced and lovely staff that want you to enjoy your experience. Lots of big telly's so perfect to watch sport, drink and eat.

Excellent, always brilliant food and service. Can't fault it. Recommend the chicken wings, lamb chops, desi pizza and north Indian chilli garlic chicken

We are only in Wolverhampton for a couple of days and called here for food. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent and very tasty. It beat our favourite balti restaurant back home. One of the nicest we have had. Popadoms were lovely as was the onion Bhaji, they were really large and excellent. I had a chicken tikka balti with cheese Nan bread and the taste was amazing. I would definitely return. The staff were very friendly and made us feel really welcome. Thank you.

We ordered a large mixed grill catering for a private birthday party, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, and a huge hit with everyone. The service was excellent—friendly, efficient, and very accommodating to our requests. They even helped us order the right amount, ensuring there was plenty for all our guests. Highly recommend for top-quality food and outstanding service!

Had lunch there saturday afternoon around 3.30. Greeted by a very friendly gentleman behind the bar who kindly recommended some dishes. The food was hot, tasty and did not disappoint. The football was on too which was even better. Lovely little place to visit if you like desi food. Would highly recommend you give it a try. Glad i did.

Walked in and walked straight back out again. Football was on (not an issue) but the tv’s were so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. Other customers were vaping around us and we just felt really uncomfortable, so left without ordering anything.

Beautiful food again can’t fault you

Just been to The Garden Bar with my lad for a grill, garlic chilli chicken, pilau rice, and a roti washed down with a couple of pints of Neck Oil. Very nice. The food was decent, certainly didn't scrimp on the portions. Fish Pakora was delicious. Nicely spiced curry. Great offer on in January on the food and happy hour on the drinks. Overall very good. Will certainly be going again. Cheers

I'm going to be absolutely honest as not one to complain or whinge about silly stuff!! The food we had was very good indeed.. no problem , very tasty and plenty on the plates.. great flavours on all the dishes we ordered. The problem is we waited over 1 hr and 15 minutes to receive our food ! we had to complain twice to the bar staff , who could only apologise. Now, had it been busy, I could have understood, although probably annoyed! but it wasn't! The issue being they take outside orders, too, with Uber eats coming in to take food. The management seriously needs to address priorities on who to cater for or get adequate staff to resolve the problem! If you read other reviews, it's the same comments..shoddy service by taking ages to get the food out to customers..shouldn't be no more than 20 mins once ordered, give or take 5 mins.. Think people have looked elsewhere as this has been an ongoing problem!! Such a shame as food is great quality..hope the management will sort this out to prevent further damage..

First time going here, the food was spot on (mixed grill and currys). All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Very nice clean place with good Atmosphere.

late delivery even after we had pre ordered in the day. we have eaten in the bar before but take out was horrible. dry cold chicken. daal was way overly spicy. whole meal was a massive disappointment after we have had many great meals from there. so overpriced too. very very disappointed

Really bad experience i ordered cauliflower manchurian and samosa chat. Worst cauliflower manchurian no taste in sauce. Samosa chat was good but found hair in it and when i complaint to the restaurant they did not provide any refund. Worst food and service by restaurant and deliveroo.

It was just ok - had poppadoms to start wasn't very nice tasted of dirty fat - Had mixed Grill & garlic naan , chili garlic naan chips & balti curry sauce .. none of it was great ! I've been to many places and returned. I don't think we will be returning here !!

Not a great experience here. Waited 1 hour 20 minutes for 2 burgers and chips and some chicken noodles. Asked for an update on our food and waiter was quite rude and just said it’s next out. The food ended up coming out 30 minutes later and it was disappointing. However spoke to the manager about this and he was so lovely and very apologetic which made us feel slightly better about the experience there. Won’t be returning again unfortunately.

Ordered from Just Eat. The original delivery time was 19:50-20:00 however the restaurant just repeatedly changed the delivery time and would not answer the phone. The food finally arrived at 20:50. In terms of taste it was okay, not bad but nothing special. Do not order take away from here unless you’re happy with a long waiting time and average food. Thought I might try somewhere different for a change but lesson learned, especially when The Three Crowns is literally 2 minutes away from The Garden Bar and in a different league when it comes to the food and service.

Awful service, never going again

Terrible service, food was one hour late!

called after an hour to be told there was a delay. called again and hour later to be told it had been ready for hour and half but no driver. collected the food and over half the order was missing and the rest was cold. Called them again to be told it's a just eat problem. asked if they could replace the missing food and told no. Tried to place another order but order was refused. Really disappointed. 2 hours and 10 mins waiting and had to order same food again from elsewhere as inedible

The worst service ever it will take 1 hours for your starters and dont get me started on mains it took 1 hour and a half personally the food was a bit bad and the atmosphere isnt good either. The songs are the worst thing ever and also the workers dont even like being here amd dont even pay any attention and have an attitude over everything and dont have mannners. Never come here

Was very disappointed the last time we ate there. Re heated chips, cold nann. We waited quite a while for food that was just not fresh.. disappointed as this was our go to place.. not anymore

Great tasting food over all, can get really crowded especially on the weekends as they allow sport viewing on tv etc so large groups are known to come in, car park is very tight and compact as its also used as a car wash station so... yeah, probably best to walk by or park somewhere else if you live in close proximity but honestly the food is tasty, fresh and really worth the money

22/04/23 Lovely location with true authentic Indian food with their meat grill clearly a favourite. A huge thank you to Elise who was very professional and kind to take over a telephone call from her colleague and ensured our telephone order was taken correctly as the original staff who took the call was struggling due to the background noise in the pub and perhaps struggled to understand the local Sedgley accent. May I suggest the pub really consider investing in better telephone lines to avoid conversations being repeated 7times for which some customers could be challenging. Thank you again to Elise, who clearly demonstrated being a true asset to her employer. Thank you 🙏🏽

Great atmosphere, I have been 3 times and two of the 3 occasions the food took too long to come out. The most recent occasion they had run out of plates!

Best Indian food in Wolverhampton. Mixed grills and Mixed Meat Wraps are lovely. Sometimes takes a long time to be served.

Remote but beautiful area, some great roads for a leisurely ride/drive.

Good food but very bad service from a chap named as “Jay”? Very rude and abrupt to my boyfriend at the bar, proper let down to a place which could do very well. He only asked a simple question about the menu and he was very rude, I’m sorry but we save our money for one nice meal a month - we don’t expect this .

Tasty food when it arrived but took an hour to arrive. The staff did advise of the wait when we ordered and were helpful in sorting a table

If you’re Punjabi and actually have a pallet don’t bother eating here, I had a mixed grill and butter chicken with a chilli cheese naan. Not a single thing hit the spot as it was all just bland and tasteless. So many better mixey places in wolves but I went here out of shear convenience sadly and because some friends/family said it was good…. I won’t be speaking to them again. If you’re a punjabi or non-Punjabi who likes mild bland food then this is the place for you.

Very disappointed, food takes nearly hour, after waiting the food didn’t even taste good. Only masala chips was nice. Chicken was not fresh not even cooked properly we left all food on table. Staff i also lazy work very slow.never come back again .

We ordered from this restaurant via Just Eat a while back when deciding to order Indian food from a different place, for a change. It was a great decision tbh. The food was very nice and we would order from here again. Delivery was also on time

I wish I could rate it a 0 ⭐ Today was my 5th time ordelering the small mixed grill and I always ask them to take the lamb and green chicken out to add extra wings and fish which they did, but today they basically took what I asked them BUT didn't add the extra wings or fish I always requested and have received before. Called them and they justified by saying I ordered the "small" mixed, yet the amount I received was almost a child portion?? Never again.

This place has a really good vibe again more of a restaurant than a pub but ya can still just av a drink there good 80s music on when i went in there loveley play area for kidz

The Garden Bar - bilston After spending the last few months at previous rated establishments the gang decided this month to try somewhere new. Following on from reading previous reviews and looking at the menu the original destination was decided against and the The Garden Bar came in as a last minute substitution. We walked in and were welcomed by a pleasant and friendly barman who quickly got us served and seated at our table. The standard order was available so thats what i went for. Regular mixed grill - the fish pakora was top notch and id argue that its the best iv had. The rest of the grill however wasnt on par. No complaints about the meat as such but also nothing to shout home about. Chilli chips - i think with being spoilt with Cherrywoods chilli chips then anywhere we go they have a lot to live up to. Unfortunately these were poor. Not much taste to them and rather soggy towards the end. Massala sauce - very average as massala sauces go. Not much to go with. Was nice to dip in but not the best iv had Cheese garlic naan bread - we end on a very big high. Now that is how to do a cheesey garlic naan. For those who follow my reviews know that this is the big thing for me and this really hit the spot. Perfect cheese pull with no grease at all. And just enough garlic in it where its not over powering. All in all not a bad trip. As another member the group said it breaks into the top 10 but not the top 3 I will say for value for money it was very good. One of the cheapest iv been to. Would have a think about going back and maybe order something different. 7/10

Great food , well priced, 4 adults for £65 including 4 poppadoms to start , Mixed grill for two for £15.95, chicken Dhansak and steamed rice for £12 approx and Chicken Byriani for £10 approx plus chips and a plain naan and drinks for each. Waited around 25/30 mins for food but worth the wait Would definitely go again 👍👍👍

Order was very good except for the Korma which was not creamy as l was expecting but the nans were very nice.

I've only been coming to garden bar through pool knockout, I was recommended lamb buna by the owner Mr johal , it was cooked desi style which means like home cooking ,, with fresh big naans , it is the best lamb dish I've had , atmosphere is banging good staff and pleasant locals , I would highly recommend this place to everyone 😋

Nice food … shame about the people smoking weed in the beer garden while watching the football…. Had to keep getting up to close the door to stop the smell and smoke coming in .. not very nice when you’re trying to eat.
