Glan-y-Don Inn in Flintshire

On our way home from a weekend in Wales and we stopped here on a recommendation. From the minute I walked in my brain was screaming no! It was not looking the cleanest of places this may be because it is so dated inside with tatty furniture and dirty carpets but as it did have a 5 star hygiene to the entrance door and with my dad being diabetic and neededing food we went with it. We ordered three roast dinners and they arrived homemade but the veg was waterlogged and tasteless and I was pretty much not willing to take a chance of eating in here so waited for the parents to finish and made a quick exit. Only reason I put poor and not terrible was because the lady and her daughter that was about 10 that served us was very polite.

Obtiene lo que se paga. No deje de disfrutar las estupendas pero eso no es lo que quieren. Comida casera. Aunque los ingredientes baratos pero como he dicho, los precios reflejan esto! El personal es amable, pero no esperes un uniforme o de ser llamado señor/señora, si esto es lo que se espera no vayas! Ambiente? Ocupado/ruidoso/básico. Sin embargo, un muy cálido worn interior. ves lo que te dan y es razonable en consecuencia. ¿Volvería? Tal vez.

Mi hija y a mi pareja de Cardiff con los niños para el fin de semana, ya que sólo disponemos de una casa de 3 cama necesitaban una noche y una estancia de una noche.cuando ella llamó fueron incapaces de un precio por alojamiento y le pidieron que Ring volver,quizás deberían haber tomado su número?.Sin embargo, tenían buena sala de comida y no cabe duda de que volvería.

We stopped for a luch meal on our way back. Staff has been quite welcoming. The place is not the best if one seeks some athmosphere. The food was unconvincing. Dry chicken breasts, very greasy fish and chips, tastless salad. Forget the wine!

Me alojé cuando encuentro un amigo que trabaja en el local, y el personal era amable y servicial, nos dieron direcciones a varias/rutas ciclistas estatutarias cuando pedimos. La comida estaba bien de precio y muy buena, con una selección de mesas, dentro o fuera, además de un acogedor restaurante zona. excelente selección de cerveza y un agradable ambiente para probar. habitación estaba muy agradable con una excelente ducha power shower.

Llamamos para una comida de camino a nuestra caravana. Nos quedamos muy decepcionados con la calidad de la comida, especialmente teniendo en cuenta los altos precios de las comidas, teníamos un chile con carne sin sabor, especias y no habas? Cuando nos quejamos 9 habas llegamos en un plato independiente!!!! Aparentemente no como frijol de Gales, qué tonterías!una hamburguesa que pudiera haber sido utilizado como hockey sobre hielo Puck, era tan dura.Por £35,00 por 3 comidas básicas del pub me esperaba un poco más de calidad.Cuando nos quejamos más 7 miembros del personal salió de la cocina y estaban muy intimidante.Por favor, evita este lugar parece que quiero hacer es un timo turistas y yo, como soy disgustados Welshman en el comportamiento de estas personas no merecen llevar a cotización.

Been here loads of times with family and friends and must have tried everything on the menu (between us all) and have never been able to fault anything. Have recomended to loads of people and will continue to do so

Fuimos a pasar una noche social. Llamamos en pocos días antes de recoger algunos menús y mi marido salió a decir que parecía mejor en el interior.Tienen un menú para madrugadores entre las 4 pm - 7 pm y luego las comidas principales clásicas en 2 por £9.95 .Cuando llegamos nos dieron la bienvenida y nos sentamos con el grupo principal, nos preguntaron si queríamos bebidas y éstas sirvieron rápidamente.Los pedidos de comida llevaron rápidamente, elegimos el "curry de pollo casero" con arroz y nuestra hija pedimos la pizza para niños con patatas fritas.Nuestra hija es comida fue un poco decepcionante, una pizza congelada barato con un montón de queso para disimular. Nuestra curry de pollo no sabor casero y me costó encontrar mucho pollo, aunque había un montón de pimientos y pasas sultaninas?La factura era de menos de 20 libras.El restaurante estaba muy limpio y rápido servicio.

Me llevé a mi marido y mis dos hijos para una "de repuesto del momento" comida, ya había estado aquí una vez antes y lo disfrutamos. Mi marido sacó un poco cara cuando llegamos pero me dijeron que darle una oportunidad ... Confía en mí ... tenía que comer sus palabras el servicio era amable y la comida excelente y abundante con mucho donde elegir, mi pequeño niño dijo que era el mejor comida él tenía! Sin duda uno de nuestros lugares favoritos.Mi único de una queja era que tenían una especie si fuego de carbón? O calefacción y era volver fumar en el restaurante y volví a casa apestando a pero que estoy seguro que era un y fue un poco pero frío, pero que de nuevo es la culpa.Sin duda le dan el lugar a donde ir.

Lovely food, great staff and reasonable portion sizes! - exceptionally clean and welcoming! Would definitely recommend!

I had heard good things about this pub so decided to give it ago i went on a sunday and must say the roasts are delicious the meat jus melted in my mouth and the value is excellant 3 courses for 8.95 bargain!

Visited on Sunday 28th October with friends and family, the Sunday roast is absolutely gorgeous would recommend this pub 2 any1, the staff were very polite and helpful!! Really enjoyed the meal! X

Visted this place three times over the course of 2 months. The first time was excellent, polite staff, lovely food and lots of it! Very reasonably priced and attractive 2 for £5 deals. Very clean if not bland and sterile, but nice. 2nd visit, a bit of a disappointment due to the fact that 3 of the 4 starters we ordered were unavailable. (Party of 4 and it was a special occasion). The waitress openly admitted she was new and had not had very much training - and it showed, through no fault of her own, but drinks were forgotten or completely wrong, food forgotten about, and the whole evening just felt a bit disjointed and hectic - but we put this down to "a bad night" and were willing to eat there again a few weeks later as the food that was available was very enjoyable. 3rd time...oh dear, the bar staff seemed to also be the waiting staff, so everyone in the restaurant was neglected. We were a party of 2, yet a larger table (4-5) who arrived 20 mins after us were seated, had their drinks and food orders taken before us. We were seated by the hallway to the loo's and everytime someone used the hand drier, it sounded like a hoover being used right behind us. Very off putting as we were trying to enjoy a quiet meal together as a seldom treat. Both the wine and beer seemed exceptionally expensive, bearing in mind that it was only a small glass of standard house rosé (gallo). Food was nice, but again most of the starters were not available, the waitress was still confused and flustered, so by the middle of the evening we decided to make her life simple and not order any more drinks, or ask for desert. We asked for the bill and waited an age, so much so we were tempted to just leave, and i doubt they would have noticed. Seriously gone down hill and we wont be making a 4th visit. Such a shame.

Popped in today with my husband daughter and mother in law. The food was excellent, Sunday dinner like your mum used to make! Real hand cut chips which my daughter lover. The meat just melts in the mouth. Absolutely brilliant. The staff were lovely and friendly and the dining area is clean and airy. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Called in here after seein signs outside advertising 2 for 1 and children's meals. Would not visit again, worst lasagne ever had, didnt think u could go wrong with such a simple meal but it was basically mince in a cheese sauce with a few pieces of tomatoes thrown in and a cheese crust on top, no pasta to be seen. As for the real chips, they were very undercooked like they had been put in fryer for a minute then removed. My 3 yr old son had the fish finger children's meal but refused the chips and his dad had the chicken burger which was very dry, salad had also seen better days. Very disappointed.

This is the place to eat in north Wales, it's on the coast road in mostyn, just opened back as a pub(was and Indian restaurant before and was shut for number of years) they do 241 £9.95 on main meals and 241 on puds it's delicious, all homemade and with real hand cut chips and Sunday lunches are Devine meat melts in your mouth. Pop in on way past well worth a visit can't wait to go back
