I don't know how this concession dare use the Yo Sushi name. The rice is often undercooked. Today was the last chance I gave it. I spent over £20 today and the rice on everything is rock hard. The salmon nigiri uses the tiniest slivers of salmon you've ever seen, an absolute disgrace at almost £7 for 6 pieces. They deliberately move the sushi going out of date today to the front so less suspecting shoppers will pick out raw salmon that isn't even fresh! (standard Yo Sushi restaurants have time stamps on any raw food to be used within a certain few HOURS of when it's prepared, yet I saw food on this stand packaged with a use by date of three days from today!!). There's never any staff around, and the prices are extortionate.

I was completely ignored by the person on the kiosk, and when I got home, I realised the sushi that I picked up from the counter was out of date! Soo disappointed 😞

0 Stars, The most pathetic place ever. How is this a business? They make you wait 5 hours from when you order and at the end they CANCEL :( AVOID THIS PLACE

The rice is - to no exaggeration - always undercooked. There never usually seems to be anybody at the kiosk either which is a bit odd. It's a shame because I love yo sushi, and this kiosk is not at all representative of the other yo sushi restaurants I've been to. Its not terrible food, but it's not great and not what I'd expected from yo sushi.

This is a review for the Giraffe restaurant in Eldon Square. Food was ok, service was all over the place - very effusive when we arrived, but then the server tried to clear the table while one of the party was still eating, which is really not acceptable, made us feel we were being chivvied along although the restaurant was not full, no-one waiting and we hadn't been slow. Our coffee order seemed to go astray, and the bill had an automatic 10% service charge added (party of 4) which we fortunately just noticed in time. I really dislike that practice.

Since we had shopping to do at the attached Tesco it seemed a good idea to eat here, initial impression was good, clear instructions on what to do re: ordering, menu was clear, precise and priced well. Then it went downhill, needed to order a kids packed lunch box which was advertised at 5 items, I stupidly didn't read the notice enough to realise that it was only food items included, when I picked my 5 items from the fridge that contained the sandwiches, yoghurts cheese etc I also picked up a childs fruit shoot, alongside the fridge was a basket of quavers and pom bear crisps which I included in my 5, when I got to the till, not only was the drink not included but neither was the crisps!!! How can a childs packed lunch box not include a drink??? The poor staff on the counter must have endless confused customers to deal with. Once I had purchased my food I was then surprised to have to wait over 25 minutes for it,....a grilled chicken salad and ham, eggs and chips...When it did arrive it was ok and like some reviews I have read we ate it purely due to hunger than actually enjoying it. A return visit is not on the cards, would rather travel a little further along the road to The Twin Farms or The Jingling Gate. For a café that is attached to a huge superstore with parents shopping with children regularly I think this needs to have a little revamp.

Bit disappointed to be honest. Not as much on the menu anymore. Just a few sandwiches/toasties etc at lunch time and children's menu is rubbish. Used to go here quite a bit and have a decent meal at lunch time. Used to go for all day brunch and my little girl loved the sweet potato fries she used to have alongside her chicken strips. Luckily she wasn't with me today as I was with a friend, so I made do with a fairly average toastie. I expect they've scaled down the menu what with them being within Tesco, but to be honest can't see Giraffe being around for all that much longer. It's just a pompous cafe now.

Love the Mexican breakfast they serve here been a few times. More of a cafe style now as opposed to a restaurant but it's very nice inside you wouldn't think it was part of a supermarket. The menu is a little limited once you have been a couple times wish they would bring back the quesadilla! Service always quick and friendly.

Visited here today with my grandma after shopping in tesco which it is attached to. Very quickly served, food options are quite good. There is breakfast options, burgers, toasties, salad, veggie options, soups. I ordered the salmon salad and a coke and my grandma had a ham and cheese toastie and a cup of tea. Drinks were served instantly and food took about 10 minutes. We had a window seat where we sat which was nice. The decor is lovely inside. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad, I had a full fillet of Salmon and some potatoes and plenty of salad. My nana wasn't as keen on the toastie, she said the ham was a bit plasticy. I would definitely come again the only thing is it was quite expensive for a quick lunch It came to £16 which for a drop off is a little much but hey ho !

Family lunch for mother's day was very successful at Giraffe, plenty of choice for 5 year old grandson who loved his plastic green giraffe he got with his drink, daughter enjoyed a cocktail and burger, my wife had piri piri chicken which was very good and plenty of it. I had a classic burger and they don't disappoint. Vegetarian options suited the son in law. Everyone was happy, the staff were very pleasant and cheerful, overall very satisfactory. Its not special, but its a good meal.

Went here for a Birthday meal on a Friday night - the place was pretty empty but that didn't dishearten the staff. We had a lovely meal (Mexican burger recommended) and some drinks. Shame to hear the late night restaurant is due to close as it was a great visit and we definitely would have come again for food.

A themed restaurant adjacent to the 24 hour Tesco store. Nice enough environment, with a menu including Mexican style food and burgers. The staff were friendly and the service good. The food was actually very good, not particularly cheap but reasonable portions and well cooked. A spacious interior with a nice atmosphere and a good choice of seating configurations. There are many different ways that restaurants can apply service charges, automatically adding a charge of around 10% to the bill is my least favourite, I feel that a discretionary tip/payment to reward good service is better as it reflects the diners actual experience. Overall not a bad experience, good service and food and will probably use again if in the area. To qualify my rating I would say average to good but not very good.

Came here after shopping. It was alright-ish but it needs a lot improvement. The location is good which is near to metro station and the shops so I would just go there for drink not for the food.

I've eaten in Giraffe restaurants in London (Heathrow and Kings Cross) and had reasonable experiences both times. With recent expansions to the food courts at the local shopping centres I was wondering how long it would be before Giraffe came to the North East. After dropping off at the airport I called into the Tesco at Kingston Park to see it had already arrived. So, a few days later when I was back at the airport I suggested calling in. There seemed to be something on the menu that everyone could enjoy, so it was worth a try.The place itself looks good, and is well placed in a unit connected to the 24 hour Tesco. Despite being a Sunday afternoon it was quiet, so we were shown straight to a table. However, despite there being plenty of staff the table hadn't been cleaned or restocked. The waiting staff told us that burgers were off, which was part of our reason for being there, but we stayed as we were hungry. The kids quickly choose things from the menu, and the adults went for mexican. The staff did a good job, but overall the food was bland and just tasted cheap. It was served far too quickly to be anywhere near freshly made. Which is a shame. It could be I remember my previous experiences through rose tinted glasses, or this was a bad time to visit when the place is still new. But on this experience I don't think we will want to return

I knew it would be a mistake but I went along with the idea of getting a bite to eat at the end of an exhaus tive round of festive food shopping and wished I had not been talked into eating here. The staff are ok but seem to be going more through a process rather than giving quality customer service. The food looked slightly appetizing on the menu but when it arrived not only were the portion sizes miniscule for the price but the actual food some how had been drained of any flavor and characterI wont be going here again

Our favourite place for coffee, a pause from the crowds, meeting up with friends, and checking out the new film releases. The staff are fabulous - this week we're totally devastated to learn that the wonderful Laura is moving on. Laura will be missed by so many Tyneside regulars, who rely on her calm, kind, attentive, thoughtful, good natured, welcoming warmth and friendliness. Thank you so much for all your years of hard work - both in the coffee rooms and in the café Laura. You have made our day so many times, simple acts of kindness all build up to make an enormous difference to everyone's lives. With love and best wishes from Julie and Dave (cappuccino and green tea) 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Volveremos.
