Ginger & Co. in Shropshire

Visiting Shrewsbury and found this little gem . Catered for my Coeliac husband easily . It was so good we repeated the experience the next day .

Not great .. bacon & tomato toastie . Hot bacon and tomato served between two ,dense , cold , slices of non descript bread ..

Have been twice in the last week and frequently over the summer holidays whilst back from university. This lovely cafe is not only family friendly but also dog loving, my dog was fussed over by the lovely staff who also provide excellent service, can’t wait to come back home and visit again

Visited for lunch yesterday. Great food ( had a toastie, but other peoples food looked great as well), courteous staff, nice atmosphere, great cakes (i had the carrot cake). Would recomend.

A delightful independent coffee shop with excellent menu, cakes and coffee. Energetic, young & polite staff. Great experience & worth a visit.

A great spot for breakfast, we went early so got a table easily though it was (understandably) busy as we left. Food was absolutely delicious, and good portion sizes. My latte was nice but very small so wish I'd ordered something else but nevertheless would recommend and definitely visit again.

My wife had banana bread and I had a Wild toast (garlic mushrooms). Both meals were pronounced very tasty and good value. We had cakes afterward which were even tastier. Would recommend.

This is the best place to eat if you have any food intolerances! Just friendly helpful staff and delicious food!

The coffee is generally good but don't expect friendly, polite or efficient service. Very disappointing visit to a cafe we have been to many times but will give a miss in future.

Popped in based on curb appeal, and it was a very nice venue. Prices were reasonable and service was efficient. Lunch wasn't quite what I thought when I ordered "peanut butter on toast please" - without realising it came with the rest of the shebang!! 😂 Totally my mistake!! Lovely space and very polite staff.

A rustic and authentic eatery that was a lovely place to chill out and experience a beautiful breakfast.

I like it here, nice place with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately on this occasion I was really disappointed. Ordered the pancakes and my heart sank when I saw them being taken out of a cupboard/ fridge and reheated. Absolutely no comparison whatsoever with the freshly cooked and delicious pancakes I was served sometime later in Berry's in Church Stretton. The coffee was also lukewarm.

We enjoyed a first visit to this lovely little cafe so decided to return. Unfortunately our second visit didn’t go so well. We arrived half hour before closing. They didn’t tell us they were ready to close just that they were not serving hot food. I ordered 2 coffees and 1 cake. They delivered the wrong cake. The coffee was not warm. And we felt rushed unable to relax and enjoy. Was disappointed by this visit.

Breakfast for vegies and folk interested in unusual choices - this is where to go. Not always possible to get in as usually full of locals so sorry if you are a visitor and couldn't get in !

Very poor service. I ordered a Mocha and a "Hot Bowl" once the waitress had bothered to come to my table, which took a while. I then sat for over half an hour trying to make a lukewarm Mocha last until my food arrived. Meanwhile, several customers who had arrived after me got their lunch, but nothing for me. I left in disgust. Extremely poor communication from a waitress who obviously was not bothered.

Called in late afternoon for a pot of tea and snack. Really tasty tea with leaves & a very lovely raspberry oat cake - the choice of cakes was very good. Warm and friendly surrounding and friendly service. Choose an independent!

Mixed review. Often quite full, very good selection of cakes in general but the vegan choices are so very poor, I can't leave a good review. It's possible this is more suited for meat eaters This is my third visit here, I usually opt for take away coffee and cake, the cakes are a bit hit and miss. I'm told the non vegan ones are ok, however the vegan choices are consistently poor quality. Dry tasteless and one (flapjack) tasted stale. I've had the flapjack, the carrot cake and more recently a turmeric one. The latter was so bad I've not able to finish it. Seems a shame throw away £3.50 worth of cake but it truly was inedible, very dry and the icing made from some kind of cheap marge and sugar. There is no reason why vegan cake has to be so uninspiring and tasteless. I won't be coming back. Additionally the staff are not particularly friendly.

The best coffee in town. Friendly staff. Clean, modern interior. Lovely cakes. Fresh loose leaf teas. Milkshakes, smoothies, iced drinks. Healthy food options, breakfast bowls, toasties, soups. Always a happy environment, staff are friendly & chatty. Dog friendly store. Pay them a visit & say Ciao to the lovely Italian ladies.

Our first visit back to Ginger and Co after months of sheltering and lockdowns, and it felt like being back at home again. For us, this is just the best place in the whole of Shropshire - whether for coffee and a snack or even better for lunch. It's about the only place we can go where we are completely confident that we can find beautifully and freshly prepared food that caters for our requirements - for healthy and tasty gluten free options in particular. They always have coconut milk which we prefer in our hot drinks, as well as dairy and other dairy-free options, and very few other places provide such a good range. The staff are great, relaxed and informal but efficient at the same time. And the crowning glory is their gluten-free chocolate brownie, which is consistently the best I have ever tasted anywhere. Whenever we go, we always buy a couple extra to take home for a treat! So nice to see you again, Ginger and Co!

There is a huge abundance of tea rooms and coffee shops in Shrewsbury, probably at a ratio of three shops to every one person so it's important to stand out above the crowd to avoid being lost in the shuffle and Ginger & Co is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Always friendly and despite often being busy inside never feels manic or like the staff are rushed, it's a nice chilled vibe. There's a strong focus on ethical and fair trade produce and their chocolate and goji berry flapjack is just insane, I love it. Really nice location too just off the bustling town square.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and the cafe was very busy, there was only one table available at the back which we occupied. The service was very quick and friendly. I had a banana cake which was tasty. The cafe is bright and cheerful.

I went for brunch with my boyfriend at Ginger and Co and it was honestly the best service I’ve had during Covid. Everything was very clean and social distancing was kept 100% of the time. I ordered a salad without reading the menu properly and I, stupidly, didn’t ask if there were walnuts in the salad (I’m anaphylactic). As I started to eat, I realised there were nuts and that I hadn’t asked. I asked the staff and I found out there were walnuts in it; immediately, the salad was swapped without any hesitation, within 3 minutes!!! It was completely my fault for not asking but they were so kind and accommodating and fixed my mistake. Absolutely amazing experience and the food/coffee was incredible. Thank you so much!

Good seating outside in the Square. The coffee was excellent. I opted for the lentil hot bowl which was very tasty. Enjoyed the accompanying poppadoms and Mango Chutney. My husband chose the bacon sandwich. He said the bacon was crispy and tasty but wasn't keen on the bread. My friend had the Ham and emmenthal cheese Toastie which she thoroughly enjoyed. Although service was very speedy and good Covid safety regulations in place, I felt the guys working behind the serving desk weren't very friendly.

We popped in for a spot of coffee and lunch, sfaff very polite, hubby had a zingy chicken roll, but he said he couldn't taste any chicken and the side salad was really dry, I had sourdough, marmalade and butter, it arrived and I was shocked, you couldn't see the bread, they had already covered it in butter and marmalade, so much that it was swimming, when I tried to pick it up the marmalade and butter just ran everywhere, could not eat it, just so over the top and sickly, I prefer to butter my own bread. Very disappointed with our lunch experience. Won't be returning.
