Gilmours in Sheffield

Delightful little cafe - a new one for us. Excellent coffee, & we’re just sorry we couldn’t find room this time for some of the tasty cakes on display. Nice to be able to sit outside too, especially as it’s popular and therefore can get a bit noisy :). A place to come back to, definitely.

In Sheffield for a romantic weekend and starling local to Gilmours. Clean, warm, warm welcome and lovely decor. Chai latte and sourdough toast a nice combination. Highly recommended. Thanks from Marc and Joanne.

This wonderful coffee shop serves the smoothest of coffees - no bitterness and no hint of burnt taste, simply the best coffee in Sheffield! This is a little gem of a local coffee shop and well worth a visit. I’ll be recommended the place to all my friends and clients!

While staying in Sheffield for a long weekend we dropped in here for our first morning and we've been back every day. The staff are incredibly friendly, the coffee is perfect and always a lovely selection of cakes and croissants.

Just passing and was drawn in Again 😃Jonny Eagan and his mum just walked in !! Apparently loads of celebrities come including me ! Martins chocolate was to die for and Brendan’s panini was the best ! Daniel couldn’t stop eating !! Call in and try it for yourself , it’s another hidden Gem!! See what I did there !

I’m lucky enough to live just around the corner from this lovely little coffee shop and have recently started visiting on a regular basis whilst taking my dog for a walk. Great coffee and delicious cakes and the staff are so welcoming and friendly, they always make a real fuss of my dog and bring bring him a treat. It has such a lovely local community feel and I’ve often got chatting to people sat outside whilst waiting for my coffee.

I'm a frequent customer at Gilmours and it really is the best family/regulars coffee shop. After only a few times of going I became known, I always get greeted warmly, chatted to kindly and served with the best customer service. I would thoroughly recommend Gilmours for good, hearty sandwiches and cakes- nothing pretentious but seriously tasty. The coffee is excellent and is from Forge Roasters which is a real Sheffield positive. It's been such a highlight over all the lockdowns for it to remain open as much as it can, kept me and my family going ! The only criticism I'd give is that in rush hour times, the coffee/hot drink service can get very slow. There's a system in a lot of corporate cafes where they put one milk steamer on, pour the espresso for it, take the milk off and immediate replace it to start making the next drink. I've noticed that the barista will steam, pour shots, and stand around waiting and then before pouring the drink, wash the steam jug, then pour the drink and put lid on and serve. Then start again. There can sometimes be extra staff waiting around for something to do whilst this happens, but if they wash and prep the jugs for the drink after or even get trained at some of the other parts I can see it becoming much more efficient. This being said, this is one of the best coffee shops in Sheffield. Kind, friendly people, great coffee and great food. Great atmosphere.

We met up with family before our journey home and found the perfect place for our gathering. Welcoming staff and a charming host who has every right to be proud of the coffee shop he has established and for the service provided by the attentive young waitresses. Perfectly brewed coffee and freshly made mince pies and cakes. Spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. The perfect place for any form of gathering or indeed for the solo customer. Well done everyone

Fantastic coffee shop with great service, Shannon,who left the last message was not asked to leave, she was offered another table which seated two as opposed to the four seater she had sat at for three hours using the free WiFi - I was a customer and at no time was the manger rude, in fact he went out of his way to accommodate her, there were several customers waiting for tables at this popular coffee shop. It made common sense for her to vacate to a two seater table and let the other customers sit down. It seems a moan and a whinge is all that’s on offer because of her failing to use her common sense - sithi x

had an awful experience in gilmours. I went to do some work at the cafe. When I arrived I was the only costumer and took a seat, I ordered a late, lunch and a brownie and spent around £15 and also left a tip in the jar at the front because the young girls behind the counter were lovely. Within the hour the cafe began to get busier and it became evident that the manager wanted my table. He made me feel so uncomfortable by moving chairs around me and staring at me that I felt I had no choice but to leave. When I asked him about it he made me feel uncomfortable for choosing to eat out alone and said I should sit on the end of someone else’s table even though I had not even finished my dessert yet. Completely shocked by the way I was treated after the money I had spent. Would not recommend due to the terrible customer service from the manager.

Away from the bustle of Ecclesall Road, on a corner of Greystones Road, is where you will find Gilmours. well worth seeking out for a really good coffee and cake. A few cafe items for lunch or brunch. A really nice place to visit with friends.

Decent coffee, cakes are average. Lots of people working but service is more about quality than quantity for me.

Only had a couple of Cappuccino’s but they were lovely, cakes looked very nice, I will have to visit again to try one. Establishment was lovely decorated &very clean, definitely worth a visit.

Visited Gilmours on the recommendation of my wife who has visited from work. Only had a coffee and cake but was impressed with the setting, friendly welcoming and efficient staff and the quality of the food available. The sandwich menu I short but that is no bad thing in what is a competitive market along Ecclesall Road - it will be worth my making a return visit to sample it. The cakes and pastries look great and it is popular with the locals. A great asset to our community and well worth supporting!

Amazing place with a great atmosphere and wonderful produce. Will definitely visit again in the near future. Very friendly staff.

What a lovely place this is. I met a friend here last week as had been wanting to visit for a while. I wish I'd visited sooner. The place is lovely, staff friendly and drinks and produce excellent. I'll definitely be back. Fab find.

Coffee excellent.Toasted tea-cakes less so.Didn't seem fresh,but that could have been because they were over-toasted.Butter needed softening to make it spreadable.Nice atmosphere.If I went again I'd ask them to keep an eye on the tea-cakes!

Just popped in for delicious cappuccino and shared cake. A magician - really - was practising card tricks with the staff. Great cafe.
