Very good authentic Thai food, served by great staff.

Lovely interior. Very spacious and pleasant layout. Food and service really let it down. We went for a lunch menu and the selected lunch dishes were lukewarm warm and dry. They took 45 minutes to serve despite not being that busy. Unusual as I’ve eaten with this chain before and it’s been much better. Maybe an off day 😊

Came here for 1pm lunch with my friend, was a lovely experience. We liked that it wasn't too loud or busy. The interior design was very stylish and we adored the branding design on the menu brochures! My friend tried the Pad Thai and seemed very satisfied. I tried Pad Kee Mao and my tongue was on fire 🔥 but it really hit the spot for me.

The food was god but not all dishes were available and this wasnt communicated until we ordered. The service for drinks was horrendous . The worst oart was that we relayed a severe kiwi allergy that my daughter had . Every plate that came had a sticker stating rhe allergy but when we ordered the oudding , and it eventually arrived, it had kiwi on the plate! When we told them this there was no apology , they asked if we wanted a replacement dessert without the decoration of a kiwi , which we obviously did!there was no acknowledgement of their error at all which could have caused harm. Shocking, . We went to the giggling squid as we had a fabulous experience at the cambridge franchise but this one in norwich was a hige disappointment and we wont be returning. They also included service on the bill when i would have not paid this for the dire service!

Lovely place! Waiting staff were friendly, funny and engaging. Food all came out in great time and piping hot and was flavourful and great portion sizes.

Food was delicious especially the salt and pepper squid 😋 The service was a bit below par though. Empty plates weren't being cleared to quickly and one of the dishes we ordered wasn't brought to the table until we asked for it.

Came for lunch as a group of four for a birthday. Restaurant is very well decorated and for a Saturday lunch was quite busy. We ordered lunch tapas and some starters. Unfortunately one of our items never arrived, and we were also given Spring rolls instead of duck spring rolls. The food we did receive was very tasty. Frustratingly we were then charged for both of these dishes which we never ate. Service was also quite slow throughout, so overall we felt that we didn't want to pay the added serve charge and had to ask to get this removed as well as the two dishes. Unfortunately we won't be returning in a hurry.

This place was lovely. Took my eldest for a dad and daughter date, and it was lovely. Great Thai food and I thought not a bad price. The set meals was really good. We managed to get in on a weekend lunch without booking. Really worth a look.

My friends and I were visiting from Manchester, and liked the look of this place for tea. I started with the Golden Money Bags: tightly-packed, little crispy parcels served with a sweet chilli sauce. For my main, I enjoyed a hearty King Prawn Pad Thai. If it weren’t for the distance, I’d go there again!

I’ve been wanting to try giggling squid for awhile now. I went at around 12:20 for lunch. I ordered the new fisherman’s feast, sticky chicken, yummy duck rolls and Roti. To drink I had a delicious strawberry cooler. The staff were all so kind and lovely. However it took around 40 minutes for the food to finally come out which I was a bit disappointed in. I liked the crispy crab bites and sriracha dipping sauce from the fisherman’s feast. The papaya salad was actually nice too. I personally wasn’t a big fan of the squid as I felt they were quite big pieces so more difficult to eat as the batter fell off easy. I loved the sticky chicken, tender meat and really nice sauce. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the duck spring rolls or the roti. Overall I wish the food came out quicker, I don’t think the food is the best I’ve had but it has a lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff! Thank you!

Service was good, the atmosphere was also good. But it was quite expensive for the quality of our food. The food we had was over cooked the prawns were very chewy & the sirloin steak was also very fatty and over done?

Went in for the lunch because we heard a lot about the lunch deal from a friend.We ordered Hawker and Royal Meal set and shared it between us.I feel like this was perfect because the Royal meal set had more of the starter meals so we had those first.The samui zingy prawn with the lettuce wrap was to die for, it had the perfect amount of seasoning.That was the star for the Royal Set.For the Hawker set everything exceptional but the chicken tom kha soup was chef kiss.Everything that we ordered was 10/10!!I will definitely be coming back because for the price that your paying the meal that you get is splendid.

Lovely restaurant with amazing service. I have visited the giggling squid chain in multiple places in the UK and all have been amazing. The food is lovely and not too expensive, a perfect lunchtime spot too as they do a tapas set that isnt too pricey.

Our dining experience at this restaurant was hindered by more than just delays. We were served by a rotating cast of five people, creating a sense of overstaffing with some staff appearing idle. The excess personnel didn't contribute to efficiency, and it felt like there was unnecessary waiting around, further diminishing the overall dining satisfaction. The food, while not bad, simply wasn't worth enduring the prolonged wait and apparent staffing inefficiencies.

Really loved dining at Giggling squid. The location is in the bubbling part of the city yet it’s adequately situated to give you a serene dining experience. My friends and I had one of the platters with some side dishes and they paired really well together. The service was great and we loved the attention to details that the servers payed to us. Well done and I’d definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing food and very friendly staff. We have been visiting here for the past 2 years now for special occasions and never once been disappointed. The food is by far, the best that we have ever had and we have travelled a lot.

I had a great evening sat out front here. The food was very good and the ambiance was great. The charcoal noodles in particular were epic. The flavour was similar to Chinese takeaway chow mein, but taken way beyond the next level. Let down slightly by boy racers cruising past in their hotted up noisy Corsas, or seriously loud sport bikes, which seems to be a local sport in Norwich, but not much the restaurant can do about that. Staff are excellent. I would definitely go again. Edit: I was going to go back, but the charcoal noodles are gone. No! 😢

5 star experience all around. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, and the staff was great. I hadn't been before so I asked my friend what was good and he said "honestly, anything on the menu". He was correct. I have the squid appetizer and a curry for dinner, which were amazing. The spice was just right. I travel to the area once a year so I will certainly be back on my next trip! A+

Thai food is my favourite. I order red and green Thai curry every time, without exception. and I can safely say, the red and green curries at Giggling Squid Norwich were the worst I have ever tasted. They were painfully bland and lacked all the zesty deliciousness Thai food is famous for. I will never again visit a Giggling Squid. Sometimes chain restaurants get so big the good quality loses its spark. Clealry that has happened here. Never again.

Impeccable service, and TONS of gluten free options. Really impressed by the range available. However was a little disappointed by the food as it was a little bland - was expecting a little more flavour, tried all dishes we ordered and honestly each one was really lacking something. Beautifully presented, and fast to arrive. Definitely book ahead as it gets busy. If you like the spice and flavour of thai food, this isn’t for you I’m afraid, but the less brave person will find this a gentle and tame, but enjoyable, culinary experience.

This ancient building close to the cathedral would not be out of place housing a fine dining establishment so our initial reaction was it may be ill suited to its purpose. However once inside it has a modern, funky vibe and offers a relaxed and pleasant dining experience. Staff are friendly and efficient, our server, Meg, was charming. The menu is vast and varied, the quality was excellent and portion size just right. I was confused to read reviews describing it as both good value and overpriced but can now understand why; some dishes are very keenly priced whilst others are expensive for what they are, a £10 difference between the two main courses we ordered was hard to reconcile. The sharing platter starter was, for me, the star of the show, though a pineapple sorbet was a close second. Overall, a very pleasant experience in a lovely setting. Reasonable value for money.

Came to the Giggling squid with my daughter for dinner and had the best experience as always here can’t fault anything and service was spot on and the food was delicious as always!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Giggling Squid. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options, and the Red Thai Curry I ordered looked very impressive in its generously large bowl. However, I was a bit surprised by the portion size; the inner portion was smaller than expected, closer to a small cereal bowl which did make me a little sad. The lamb shank and curry had a more watery consistency than I'd prefer, but the taste was still delightful. Overall, a good dining experience with room for improvement in portion size and consistency considering the cost of the main dishes are not far from £20 Staff did check we were enjoying our meal a little to frequently, just once is fine it’s the tiniest bit annoying as you always seem to have a mouth full of food when asked if everything’s alright four times through one course. 🤷‍♂️😊 Overall I’d definitely come back, there is still plenty on the menu I haven’t eaten yet and I’m sure my review will certainly evolve.

Extremely good restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service and well decorated restaurant! This is one of the best Thai restaurant in Norwich but its a bit pricy. And they didn't provide student discount. But still worth to try! I love their classic Giggling squid and their red duck curry! The squid are very tender inside and crispy outside! The red duck curry is not spicy at all and the duck is aromatic. One of the waiter is excellent!

Fantastic evening again. Took my Mum for her 88th birthday for her first ever Thai meal. Needless to say she absolutely loved it. Staff were attentive, friendly and made her evening very special. Can't recommend this restaurant enough we always have an excellent time there and the food is delicious.

Casual walk in as we came out last minute. Seated quickly. Food was piping throughout meal. The spring rolls were disappointing as they lacked any real flavour. Everything else was well seasoned. But be warned they added a 10% service charge, on an already hefty bill puts you off returning

Excellent food & attention to Allergies , I'm allergic to egg, & lemongrass, & as a Vegan, my choices were challenging for a Thai restaurant. However Tom my waiter was superb , I had a lovely tamarind & tofu said, & a side dish of garlic black pepper noodles , which were so flavourful , I would highly recommend. Nothing was too much trouble & my whole table of friends were well looked after & they all enjoyed their curries. This was my first visit to Giggling Squid & I would definitely go again. Highly recommend.
