Everything about Giannis was excellent! The meal was enjoyed at a relaxed pace, as good Italian food should be enjoyed, and the service was outstanding! As for the food…delicious, and very reasonably priced. For a shared starter, 2 mains, and a bottle of wine, we paid £50. Plus, there was an extensive separate vegan menu - I was spoilt for choice!

Just an average Italian - with some over priced food - Tomatoe and onion salad came with 6 sliced tomatoes with a sprinkle of onions £3.99 come on. All the staff seemed miserable and pre occupied except one member who was smiley all the time.

We went and had to wait as it was booked full, but we were very glad we waited. My wife and I are vegans, and there was a separate vegan menu that had a lot of options l. We had two pizzas and they were both delicious - vegan pizza cheese is often hit or miss but this cheese was fantastic, and the crust was great too. Can’t wait to be back! 🍕 🌱

Very nice food and friendly staff

It was our 1st wedding anniversary, so we thought of Giannis and we were not disappointed. Right from the start we were greeted by a smiling face and our drinks and food orders taken by the most lovely and attentive waiter (Alessandro) what a credit to the restaurant he is! My wife had the chicken in the mushroom sauce with vegetables - it was devine. I had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce - it was up there with the best steaks I've ever eaten. Try this place, you'll love it.

We were extremely surprised by this restaurant. The food was excellent and couldn’t fault anything. Would highly recommend if going to Scarborough.

I went to this restaurant yesterday and to my surprise the service was awful. Unfortunately the waitress cleaned my table with a filthy cloth from the bin, they spoke to me poorly and were rude. The salt and oil containers were dirty and sticky. We were waiting far too long for our dishes and the food quality was very poor for the price

Perfect place with atmosphere. Excellent quality and quantity and presentation of food.. I have eaten in plenty of Italian restaurants in Leeds, Harrogate and York - this is so far the best and I will be returning. Highly recommended but you will have to book.

Absolutely loved it as did all of our group. We had a couple of cocktails which were great and then started on the food . It was busy as I believe it usually is amd it took about 25 mins from ordering to the food coming out which is fine by me I don't like it when you're rushed in and out of a restaurant. Food was fantastic and service good with the staff being social and talkative but not overly so that they are in your face . Overall a fantastic experience and I will definitely visit again when next in scarborough.

Very good Italian restaurant. Taste as well as the portion size was amazing. Had to wait 30 minutes even on Thursday but it was worth it. One of the waiter was bit rude but the other one was very helpful and smiling. The ambience is really beautiful and nice. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent menu and quality food, good service in a Victorian house

Absolutely fantastic!! From the minute we walked in, the staff were all smiling and welcoming. We were showed to our seat. We shared a ham and mushroom pizza to start with, absolutely amazing and very tasty. My husband had steak and I had chicken, they were so delicious and tender, it went lovely with the peppercorn sauce we enjoyed every single mouthful. The chips… well they were the best we’ve ever had from all the restaurants we’ve tried in Scarborough. We had rocket and Parmesan salad and tomato and red onion salad which we shared, they were delicious and very well presented. We had no room after our meal for a dessert which was a shame, the meal filled us up so much, portion sizes were spot on. I can honestly say that we throughly enjoyed our meal and the service, there was nothing to fault at all. Thank you to you all, we live in Scarborough so we will definitely be back soon.

Went here with a couple friends. The staff were absolutely wonderful getting us seated and taking our orders. The starters were amazing and came out very quickly. Then whilst waiting for our mains one of the brilliant staff Alex said he would ask the chef Pedro to stuff the calzone full of the toppings I ordered. When it arrived I was starstruck by its size. Even as a guy who can eat alot I must say I struggled! It also tasted amazing and is probably one of the best calzones i have ever had. My friends loved their meals aswell and overall was an amazing experience, would highly recommend.

We booked this restaurant whilst staying in Scarborough for the weekend and so glad we did. I'm a creature of habit when I go to Italian restaurants and often opt for lasagna, I have to say this was one of, if not the best lasagna I've had at an Italian restaurant and I've been to many.

Came here last week and ordered lasagna. I have eaten in numerous Italian restaurants in England but this surpassed ALL of them.Every mouthful was gorgeous from start to finish and there was plenty of it!! Italian food of the highest quality just the way it should be, in lovely surroundings , served by very attentive staff.WELL DONE!!!!

Fantastic food and great service!! Didn’t book and the restaurant was so full, however let us sit outside with heater and blankets, not that they were needed but nice touch. Staff got us a table after about 20 minutes and were very attentive even though they didn’t stop!! Couldn’t recommend more

I would like to give my utmost and genuine thanks to the staff at Gianni’s for making my birthday meal a very special night out. There were 10 of us, some with dietary requirements and others with allergies and every length was taken to confirm these items with the kitchen. The food was fantastic, I recommend the Kiev Calzone (bring your appetite!!) and limoncello cheesecake with cherry ice cream, and absolutely amazing night, thank you to all the staff!!

My partner rang your restaurant 8 times Saturday (22/06/24) from 4pm - 8pm to hopefully book a table and no-one answered at all. 🙄🤨 so therefore decided to just turn up and hope that we were able to get a table ( We walked 30 minutes from our b&b might I add). When we arrived, there was a young gent on the bar who advised us that 'unfortunately you were booked up' he didn't check to see if he could just squeeze the two of us in at some point during the evening even if it had meant us going and having to come back but this wasn't offered to us!. When we advised him of how we had been ringing 8 times his response was 'We don't answer the phone when busy' which was not busy at the bar when we arrived and I'm sure someone is around to answer the phone otherwise how are you supposed to book a table. Very disappointing service from several times of trying to get through on the phone and frustratingly no one answering to walking 30 minutes to get there and turned away without even trying to check if we could be fitted in anywhere throughout the night. This is a shame as we were recommended your restaurant and read from your reviews how good the food is. Maybe if we're in Scarborough again sometime I will try to ring a month in advance if anyone cares to answer the phone or just not bother now and go elsewhere as I feel this is bad service.

We dropped upon this Italian restaurant by chance and was pleasantly surprised. A rustic family run restaurant with lovely food and service. So good we had to come back the following night 😍

Food was top class. Had the sharing plate for starter and the mussels for main. Both were delicious.

Amazing restaurant, had the lobster ravioli which was incredible. Fantastic atmosphere inside and the staff were perfect, that you Gianni’s!

I do recommend the food the food was delicious and tasty and do recommend all dishes they are polite staff and good atmosphere and give you a compliment lemon cello after drink everything clean and tidy and well respectful food on time the price reasonable and absolutely delicious succulent and tasty my wife invited me there I do recommend seafood platter and a Stirling state 10 ounce with chunky chips with stilton source and also chicken breast with creamy mushroom sauce and banana and toffee pavlova cake and also a chocolate and coffee pavlova cake absolutely fantastic

We had an absolutely fabulous meal last night. My partner had lobster ravioli, and I had spaghetti with meatballs. We started with a special of smoked burrata stuffed with rocket. The service was stellar and the meal was absolutely delicious.

We ordered the seafood platter, which was delicious, large in quantity, and reasonably priced. Alexander's service was very good, and we were very satisfied.

Service and atmosphere was delightful, very reasonably priced £57 for 1/2 litre of house wine, pint of beer, soft drink and the food shown below. Will definitely return next time visiting Scarborough

My main was the size of a starter tesco lasagne is far superior

Loved the black scallop ravioli. Excellent service. Restaurant is tucked away from where most of the bars and restaurants are but if you know Scarborough you will find it.

Usually love it here the food is great. We came today for a family meal, 6 adults. We spent 5 mins at the table chatting amongst us about the menu. Another customer took it upon themselves to complain about us, the staff handled this horrendously. Instead of assessing the situation to see that we were not being loud, we were blatantly accused of ‘screaming’ and swearing… we were with our parents so absolutely were not swearing and our volume was perfectly fine for the atmosphere. The table complaining about us were leaving, we had only just sat down. You have lost our custom forever from an extremely silly situation that didn’t need to happen. Horrendous customer service.

Horrendous service. Just arrived at our table, table of 6 family members. Someone ‘complained’ about us being loud, we literally said hello and discussed the menu. Servers came over said we were loud and ‘screaming’ Removed ourselves from this joke of an establishment. Been many times, never again.

Party of 6. Just enjoyed a 3 course meal. Each and everyone of us have thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service was prompt allowing time in between courses. Highly recommend to anyone.

Popped in this evening as my little ones really wanted pizza. The waiter who served us was brilliant. He taught our 5 year old how to speak a little bit of Italian. Our 5 year old absolutely loved it. The waiter had so much time for both our children. The portions were generous and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Scarborough

Lovely restaurant never disappoints

Disappointing.. I requested a reservation for my partner, 3 month old child and I at 5pm on Saturday. Seemed early enough to beat the rush. I mentioned that space for a pram was necessary as my son can’t sit at a seat given his age. This information was enough to have the person taking the call to swiftly say there wouldn’t be space in the dining room and promptly put the phone down..

If you want an authentic Italian meal then it's here! Best garlic bread I've ever had and my steak was cooked to absolute perfection 👌🏻and I'm fussy.. we're from Bradford and I would drive there for that quality no problem..

The welcome was warm and inviting. It was a work group dinner. The food was delicious. Every course and the waitors were superb. Loved every aspect. Definitely return.

We went on a busy Saturday night. We were seated in the waiting area and given menus and someone said they would take our drinks order. Other people came in after us and we're served drinks, unfortunately we were forgot about for around 15 mins, by the time we were asked if we wanted a drink it was time to sit down. The starter was nice and we ordered linguine for main. We were then told they ran out of linguine so would I be ok with spaghetti, yep ok, makes no odds to me. We ordered a garlic bread to come with the meal, this didn't come and I told the first member of staff that came near us, but by the time it was here we had nearly finished our meals so we told them it didn't matter anymore. The pasta dish I had was ok but the sauce was really watery to the point nothing stuck to the pasta it was pretty plain, there was only 4 chunks of fish too in the dish which was pretty sparse. Overall it was ok, they were very busy so little hiccups are bound to happen.

What a fabulous meal we had last night. Every course was a winner and our waiter gave superb service and made our evening very special. Great ambiance and it’s genuinely a restaurant to try if you want excellent food and great choice.

Excellent service and food, we booked for New Year's Eve months in advance and it was well worth the wait! Excellent food and brilliant service all around!

Loved this place. Good food at reasonable prices. Booking is advised. We turned up with a pram and without a booking, but they went out of their way to fit us in. Staff were very attentive and helpful. All in all, it was a great experience.

Everything about our experience was perfect. The food was fabulous.

We visited here for our 1st year wedding anniversary having visited here on our honeymoon the year previous. We look forward to visiting here whenever we visit and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful,and the staff were brilliant. It's a shame they were getting some grief from a Karen when we were leaving about some oil being spilt. Ignore the Karen's your staff doesn't need training they need praising well done!

We called last minute and they were able to secure a table, when we asked if they are dog friendly he said “of course if they are well behaved” which I think is absolutely the best attitude to take! When we arrived they welcomed us warmly and sat us upstairs, barely a free table in the place but it was such a beautiful vibe! The lovely waitress was knowledgeable on the menu and gave me the best recommendations for garlic mushrooms and the squid ink ravioli, the wait for food was quite long to be fair, but the freshly prepared authentic treats are well worth the wait and she did both advise it might be a wait, it also said so when busy in the menu and she was apologetic about it. I’ll be returning for sure! It’s a must!

We visited Gianni's to celebrate our son's 13th birthday while away on holiday (he requested somewhere that did 'proper' pizza) The food was exceptional and the staff were all really friendly and attentive. We had booked a table and arrived at 6pm. The restaurant was already busy and stayed that way throughout the time we were there (not a surprise considering how lovely it was!). Despite how busy it was, we were never long waiting for anything! Orders were taken quickly and food was quick to arrive and absolutely delicious! We all had 3 courses and 2 drinks each, we couldn't believe the price when the bill came! We checked it twice because we were convinced they must have missed something off! Brilliant value for money! We will definitely be returning next time we are in Scarborough! Thank you for a wonderful evening! I couldn't pick a fault if my life depended on it! AMAZING!

Very disappointed at the rude and unhelpful staff. Called here sat 30th September at 8.50pm there were several tables occupied and also several empty tables so not as if they were full. We was told rudely and very abruptly that they were closed and we could not have a table there own website states the business is open till 9.00pm.the staff in question really need to brush up on there customer service skills

5 of us came for a family meal at 615 on a Monday and it was busy. Starters, special garlic bread with Nduja, Stilton and wild garlic pesto. Filling dish. Calamari in a crispy batter with squid ink mayo. Very nice too. Mains were enjoyed by all. Pasta with salmon, very generous on the salmon. It is good to see they are still providing quality food rather than cutting back to save as nearby Italian restaurants have done. My only gripe was the sea bass I had. It was tasty but advertised as fillets and described as fillets. So I was a bit disappointed to receive just one fillet. Especially at 20 a pop. Desserts of tiramisu and cheesecake went down well. With drinks bill was 150. Slow service a bit of a let down too. They wanted table back at 8, but as it was it was about ten past.

The place is amazing, the food is so good I got a kiev calzoni and it was the best thing I've ever tasted. The service was really good, and the staff where really helpful for gluten and diary free options. The atmosphere was really great, the music wasn't too loud and at a nice level.

Went for birthday meal. Amazing garlic bread and pizza. Even had a pudding, most unlike me!!

Great food, all cooked from fresh. Takes a little longer to get to the table, but you don't mind if it's all made from scratch. The owner and staff are lovely and wonderful. We couldn't fault anything. 5 stars from us 😃👍
