German Doner Kebab - intu Lakeside in Thurrock

It’s not kebab I would call it sandwich with 3 slices of “ham”. Lack of meat. All I remember is dry and crispy bread and lack of taste as not much filling inside. Not worth it and had hair inside…that is disgusting. Never come back

Disgusting. Overcooked, rock hard and greasy chips, undercooked kekab. Might as well drank a gallon of oil. Far cry from the standards in the past. Spend your money on a proper kebab shop. Update - and to top it all off I’ve now got a terribly upset stomach. Thanks GDK!

First time trying the vegan option (I'm not vegan) and must say it was delicious and a decent portion size. The hot sauce is very fiery and I loved it. Downsides would be the fries portion size and definitely the price; not sure if this was a normal price or a lakeside price.

Great service from milon, made us aware of the running discounts and added them on. Quick service given the rush hour.

Disgusting Hygiene. Avoid at All Costs. I was shocked to witness a customer return a kebab box due to a problem I couldn't fully discern. Instead of discarding the food, the staff took the meat out and put it back on the grill. This is a major health hazard and completely unacceptable. Before I even received my order, I requested a refund and left the restaurant. I strongly advise anyone considering this establishment to think twice. Their disregard for basic food hygiene is appalling.

( long time ago this is the original feedback) Brilliant food, fast and fresh, only down side is that team look a bit down and not very pleased to have you there, other than that is good food. Revisit 19/09/2024 2 ladies serving extremely rude they act like they own the business not like they work there, there is nothing like customer service at all, girl with glasses is something else, she was to busy giggle with the kitchen lads. This used to be my favourite place to take my friends to, now is definitely not even a return to place. I ordered Kcal TA, and wrap meal. The Kcal had literally white flakes of meat in there who looked like snowflakes, 1 slice of tomato 🍅 and some sauce. Never had I ever had I eaten or paid for such a poor dry empty flat bread. These 2 girls were almost throwing the food to the people who paid £ for this. This is the worst service and food for 2024 so far.

Before writing this review I had spoken to the manager on a phone call the day of incident… I placed an order online last week, when my food arrived the bread was burnt and the food just had an ash taste given how burnt the bread was, the fries was spicy fries not the cheesy fries I had ordered, I spoke to the manager the same day after receiving my order and throwing the majority in the bin because it was inedible. He advised that I could get a replacement meal if I ordered again next time online and to call prior to doing so. I called yesterday a number of times and I have called today a number of times and no one is now answering the phone at all! He fobbed me off with lies, even stated the bread batch he got was faulty and had been replaced but yet surely the person serving could see the bread was burnt and still sent it off to me for delivery and what I’m most furious about is the fact the manager did not keep to his word, I was questioning this “call before you order next time and we will send a replacement out” bs on the phone the day of the order and I was right too because nobody is ever going to answer the phone now. That’s why he was so confident in offering that to me on the phone. I’m fuming at the lack of care and lack of service and to top it all off the straight up blatant LIE about sorting it out! Iv never been this angry at a food establishment ever! More so about being played off with a bs excuse and lie about “call next time” I knew I should haven’t accepted that bs but I gave them the benefit and I should never have! Avoid this place at all cost if manager can’t be a decent human being you have to wonder what else goes on behind the scenes.

I recently visited GDK in Lakeside and ordered the plant-based kebab, which was absolutely disgusting. The vegan meat was unfresh, hard, and extremely salty, and this is coming from someone who usually enjoys a lot of salt. The kebab was also severely lacking in salad—just a few sparse pieces of tomato and red onion, which are usually the best part of a kebab. I wish I had just sent it back and asked for a refund. This was, without a doubt, the worst kebab I’ve had in the UK.

The chicken was undercooked,unlike the other GDK they don’t give salads separately,despite all they don’t bring the food to you bear in mind they give you buzzer .overall rubbish food and rubbish service.

Ordered chicken doner box with fries and cheese and guess what, the cheese came with sour taste and with doner instead of chicken. Again, i do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Thr staff can't cook a pitta without burning the life out of it.

Served me raw chicken. Then when I complained about it being raw told me that that is cooked. It is clearly not as can be seen in the photo.

Absolutely 3rd class service. Staff has no idea what they are doing. As it’s very busy they are not even looking at the orders properly and filling meat and salads properly as it’s suppose to be. I ordered all my stuff with extra beaf but instead they put very little meat and salads and gave me wrong order. Will not recommend and will not go again. Staff working in the kitchen needs to be fired and hired all new staff with proper training

Had a great lunch with gdk lakeside. All the staffs are well trained and well mannered. Food quality is top notch and kebab is just mouth watering. Will visit this place again and again in future.

I have ordered beef kebab it was cold after showing them they told me they gonna change it for me but they give me same one. And staffs don't maintain hygiene at all.

Raw chicken inside all meat meals. Plain fries instead of cheese fries. An order for over £20 went to the bin. I remember that a few years ago the food was amazing despite the small portions. This should be audited and closed by the FSA

Very long waiting time, when asking the team members, they dont listen or acknowledge you. No re-assurance that the food is on the way. Im order number C43 and they are on number 57 and havent got my food yet. When i ask they just say that you have to wait. Didnt even ask what my order was. Other people had to tell them that they’ve been waiting for 20 mins. And another person came and asked for a new bag as all the sauces were opened and messed up all his food

Food portions were a literal scam. Boxes were not filled to the top, one of my boxes were basically to halfway filled. Tasted good but incredibly disappointed with the food portions sizes.

had a delivery time of 20:40,arrived 21:00, food was cold, had to warm it up in microwave, food was nice, despite been cold and late

I wanted the try the new plant based options , the accidentally gave me their normal veggie one , when I tried to get a refund Uber eats only refunded me one of the items. Seems like an honest mistake but I just lost our on service and delivery fee ... Went to their site and it said will get back to me in a few working days... And Uber eats haven't got back to me as the whoever read my enquiry didn't clearly read both orders and only refunded one item. Usually decent food but for getting my order wrong on both items and I knowing Uber don't refund service and delivery fee is such a( excuse my language )piss take.

Never ever again , ordered a meal deal and upgraded for extra meat , get my order and asked where my extra meat is to be told it’s on there wow what can I say I got a kids portion along with 9 chips and a can of coke , I then get bk to my table after arguing with 8 staff to then eat a bit of meat that is freezing cold , took it back again and all the staff were very rude and one manager stuck his fingers in the meat and said yes the top is cold but the rest should be warm I was shocked by this and insisted on a refund in which they were reluctant but I wasn’t backing down, £16 for a poor meal service and arrogant rude staff, avoid this place I will not return!!
