Zizzi - Lakeside in Thurrock

It was my first time visiting here. The decor is nice and bright. At first, we were seated near the bar area, and the tables around were quite close together to each other. So, we asked the waitress if we could move to a different table, which was in a quieter area and she was happy to accommodate us. Served was food promptly. The size of the pizza was huge and good value for money. The chips were tasty. Boxes are provided if you can't eat all your food and want to take leftovers home. My partner ordered chicken milanese and said it was OK. Multiple waitresses checked to see if everything was OK while we were eating. All staff members were friendly. The restaurant was clean and tables were wiped down after each use.

Nice food. Good fast service from our friendly waitress, Jodie. Good vegan options on the menu. My vegan meatball starter was delicious. The vegan rainbow lasagne was incredible, I loved the rich tomato sauce and the drizzle of pesto. The consistency of the pasta was quite good too. The courgette fries were very interesting and were just like actual fries. The vegan cheesecake dessert with ice cream was also nice. Good quality coffee too. I like that you get complementary pasta crisps while waiting for your starters too.

We sat down and our drinks order was taken when I saw one of the chefs take off his shoe, remove something and the replace it, and then immediately take something out of the oven without washing his hands. When I spoke to the waitress, he tried to deny it, even though i was sat facing the kitchen and could see everything. This was enough to put us off, so we said that we didn't want to eat there anymore. Very disappointing as we have eaten there in the past and has always been good.

Firstly we cannot fault the service. It was excellent. The staff were attentive and the food arrived quick and very hot. The negative for us is that my wife's chicken dish was not edible. The chicken was so stringy and chewy. My wife had to leave the food. The waiter was very apologetic and offered us some money off the bill. Just ruined the experience for my wife sadly. But cannot fault the waiting staff.

Service was excellent. Waitress very friendly and helpful. Food was fab. Only thing missing was we didn’t get a dish of pasta crisps while we were waiting for our food. Noticed there were lots of dishes on the bar and they were handed to other diners on arrival.

If it was above 5 star I would have given it. Their customer service was outstanding. Zizzi food is always delicious

Open until 10 - walked in at 9:20 and they said they’re closed. clearly still open but too lazy to clean the kitchens again but that’s life in the restaurant industry. Lazy staff

Food was amazing and staff excellent

We all had a great experience at our lunch today. We initially just stopped off for some coffees and drinks but ended up staying for lunch because we were having such a good time. Jodie was our waitress and took care of us all day, no matter what we needed or asked for. She took her time to talk to us, smiling and joking the whole time. I cannot fault the service, she was attentive and a pleasure to be around, and the food and drinks were great too. Would recommend to all. Thank you for taking care of us!

My first time at Zizzis and Klaudia was our server! She was so friendly and knew a lot about the menu, which is super helpful when I can’t decide what to have. Lovely customer service from all staff and the food was delicious too. I will definitely be returning to try another pasta dish. Thank you Klaudia, your great service makes a huge difference! 🫶🏻

We tried the new type pizza that was supposed to be Wagyu beef but this tasted like vegetarian pizza with some spicy peppers. The Beef had no taste and was more like cheap beefburgers from Lidl. However the staff were amazing and helped out as much as possible but there was no people eating as it was 4pm on a Sunday. Overall I'd say leave the new Pizza well alone and stick.to what you know.

Food was good service was good, only problem I have is everyone is wearing fake nails or nail polish. It really put me off after seeing that. It is not hygienic!

I had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant. The service was very low, and the staff's behavior was strange. I had to wait for up to 40 minutes just for a plate of pasta. When I asked how much longer it would take, I was rudely told that there were only two chefs working. This level of service is unacceptable.

We’ve been coming here for years with and without our young kids. The service is always friendly and welcoming , the food is lovely, the decor is really nice (even the toilets are well decorated!). We will continue to come here as our regular place to go!

The meal was very poor has the chicken in crumb which was very dry, it should have come with spinach but don’t asked the waiter who was clueless, want prawn it was sold out, the pasta was lukewarm, we had to ask for our desert after 16minutes of waiting and we were told we’ve only waited 6mins which was totally wrong, it was £64 not well spent and this was our first time at any zizzi and I can say experience was totally awful, went to the lakeside branch

We were told there’s was no walk ins and they were full, I went outside and booked a table online for there and then as I walked back in someone in front of me got seated without a booking it made me really cross

Lovely Sunday afternoon meal, only negative was the number of prawns in the linguine. Can't fault the staff, really friendly and helpful.

They seemed understaffed last nigh, what I don’t understand is why they appear to continue you accept online orders for collection when they don’t have enough staff to meet the requirements of the customers sitting in the restaurant at that moment? Either way it negatively impacted our experience inside the restaurant last night and probably won’t go back.

Went to Zizzy today for lunch but left because of the service. Asked for a table for 2, the lady that’s working there gave a rude facial expression as soon as she saw us, maybe she is racist. She was definitely not happy to see us. She then took us to the smallest table and when we asked if there is a bigger table she said there isn’t and said that they don’t take cash, but it’s her rude facial expressions and gestures. It’s not about what she said, it’s how she said. Not sure why she is working on customer service if she can’t smile. Ended up going to Las iguanas and had the best food and service.

Very nice place to eat out, go regularly there with my partner and friends. Food and service are both excellent! Calzone pollo spinaci is my personal favourite from the menu.

When I arrived, we was seated where I asked, which was nice. When order was taken, starters were wrong, the female server made me feel it was my fault. When my meal arrived it wasn't the pizza we ordered wasn't what was ordered, I didn't say anything to the server, as didn't want to make a fuss. I had to call the waiter over to order more drinks. Toilets were not very clean - urine on the floor. The restaurant was not very welcoming, and staff not friendly other than the young lad who took my drinks order. I often visit Zizzi in Romford and always have nice welcoming and friendly service. I will not visit Lakeside again and I will not be recommending.

I was served a spoiled salad. The cook - who should be on a construction site in the street - has no class. Establishment to avoid at all costs.

We went there to celebrate our daughter’s birthday . We ask ( as in the other Zizzi in the past) on the booking comments section , to make some acknowledgment of her birthday . They haven’t bothered . Very little customer service and avoiding to go the extra mile . Won’t come back to the one in Lakeside one .

Absolutely love coming here, very underrated resturant easily overlooked in lakeside but service is unmatched, Ewelina served us today and she is so chatty and lovely, makes us feel welcome every time! Can't wait to come again.

Went on a date with my kids, the first waitress didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Not helpful even when I asked her for recommendations however the manager Angelica was absolutely amazing. The food was yum and I enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be going back x

It's lovely place! I had an amazing lunch with my family! My two kids had w lovely pizza and ice cream! My pasta was also smashy! Calzone is very big and tasty! There is very nice manager Angelika who cares of us during the whole lunch! Recommended in 100%! Will back soon there for sure!

3 of us came here for lunch on a Wednesday. The interior is really nice, bright and airy. Love the decor with the plant pots everywhere. The manager was super friendly and our waiter was so efficient! I’ll be honest, I haven’t had the best experience at other Zizzi restaurants, food-wise, but this one is fantastic. I had the Seabass with new potatoes, vegetables, artichokes and sun blushed tomatoes. The fish was cooked to perfection. Free parking is a massive bonus here - the closest one to ‘The Quay’ where Zizzi is located is Car Park 10. Really glad I tried this place because we’ll be coming back :)

Had a work Christmas party in here. Waitress spilled the drink on the jacket and didn’t even say anything, completely ignored. Won’t visit anymore.

Stuff attitude was awful... I never set foot again in that restaurant and for sure I wouldn't recommend to anyone to try it!!!!

Went to Zizzi few days ago with my friends. We had a pram each and it was quite busy, so we didn't expect to be seated so quick. Anyway, we were aproched by a manager Lukas, who made sure we were given the best seat possible. He took our drink order straight away and brought highchairs for the kids. Our food arrived within 15 min after ordering, was piping hot and delicious. 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend. Amazing staff, lovely food, warm atmosphere.

Been to Zizzi with the whole family for two birthdays, the food& drinks were amazing, the serving impeccable, had also an amazing and lovely waitress Alexa who also recommended which cocktails to get ( the most delicious ones) and she also prepared two desserts for the birthday girls and made the rest of the guests to sing "happy birthday" together with the staff of Zizzi. So, don't hesitate to go there, doesn't matter the occasion, they'll make you feel special anyway.

Me and my mum came here the Sunday gone and the food was amazing. We go Zizzi a lot but this time everything was just perfect. My mum got the belly pork which was cooked perfectly. I got a white wine pasta bake with chicken chorizo & mushroom and it was delicious. The new cheesecake was also fantastic. Staff were great.

Everything was delicious, but sweet dippers were supposed to come with two sauces. One of them was in a ridiculously small quantity - it was literally just a couple of drops on a bottom of its little container

Honestly the worst Zizzi I have ever been the staff need to be restrained. All the dishes we ordered where not right compared to other branches of this chain at the end I had to send my main back .I had to send my food back to kitchen as it was so cold which I never do. Honestly don't waste your money going to this Zizzi

Was put off by the waitress who found us a table as A) we hadn’t booked and B) god forbid we needed space for a wheelchair. After our initial surprise the waitresses were pleasant and helpful (excluding the first waitress who sat us down) and everything was with ease and a smile. Maybe disability acceptance training needs to be ongoing for staff to ensure everyone is educated on equality when it comes to being disabled.

First visit to zizzi and our waiter Jack was soo lovely, polite and attentive when dealing with our dietary requirements. Thanks to him, we will definitely be returning.

We decided to convert our clubcard points to Zizzi vouchers and wish we didn’t bother! The whole experience was so bad it was laughable. Our food was served before our drinks, and was pretty much inedible. The menu said the chips were seasoned with garlic and rosemary, I have never tasted such bland chips in my life. The chicken was dry and pork belly underwhelming. Our waitress was chaotic and so heavy handed I thought things were going to break when she put them on the table. The only thing I enjoyed was my large glass of rosé!

Great 6 layer lasagne and garlic bread

2 weeks ago I visited here with two of my daughters who are 6 and 12. My youngest is on the spectrum and has difficulty sitting still. She kept dancing in-between the tables. Our waitress, Alaina, was very helpful and made conversation with her. At One point, my daughter had a tantrum and took herself to another table and sat by herself. Alaina went and sat with her and made conversation, enticing her back with a baby chino. She then took my you gest to watch her pizza cook in the oven. The 2 chefs, seeing my daughter was bored, asked her if she'd like to make her own pizza. She loved the experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service provided. We are regulars and will be returning later this week. Highly recommend

Out of 5 meals 2 were sent back, I had the pork belly, the crackling was like plastic, you couldn't eat it, the pork was so dry and the potatoes it came with were straight from Icelands I think. It all lacked taste, there was no sauce, but it did come with a small pot of honey, which I found very odd. The other meal that was sent back was swimming in pesto sauce. The manager suggested a pasta dish to me instead of the pork belly, which I had, it was ok, tasted like Curry, I ate it as I was hungry. All in all I will not be returning to Zizzi, the rest of my group felt it was over priced as well.
