I was having a pleasant drink with my pal in the beer garden to watch the football when suddenly the manager ( Fiona ) came into the garden and was starring at me from across the decking. I was confused as I had just sat down with my drink. After 5 mins of intense eye contact she came up and accused me of buying student drinks for people even though me and my mate had only got one drink each and we both showed student ID, although the altercation was probably a genuine mistake it did put a downer on my experience and put me on edge for night and left me wondering what she would come out with next. Apart from this the drinks were cheap and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and even apologised on behalf of Fiona

I entered George tapps and approached the bar straight away with out being seated and ordered a cheese burger, I was asked of any allergies and if I had a table number before I was served, I had advised the staff I did not have a table number so I walked over to get one and come back to the bar. When my cheese burger arrived I had taken a bite into it and there was bacon inside it, I did not order a bacon cheese burger I ordered a cheeseburger. I am a muslim who does not eat pork. I returned to the bar staff and told them of the issue, they stated they would get me a new burger. I was then rudely and abruptly approached by the manager whose name is FIONA who stated “what is your issue”, I was very taken back from her rude attitude considering I did not make a problem when there very well could have been one. I explained to her the issue and she stated “well we ask about allergies before you order” and this is when I had to explain to her the difference between an allergy and a religious belief. I believe the manager is not suited to be in the hospitality industry as she doesn’t understand catering to individuals needs, the bar staff are great excluding the manager of George tapps FIONA.

Ideal venue for small or large groups. Although quiet when my wife and I visited the atmosphere, food etc was of a positive nature. Will return with family etc.

Terrible service, a blonde woman was rude, left us waiting, served the food late without a spoon or sugar, when we asked she was very rude, went to get it and handed it to us very rudely. When our order arrived it was cold and inedible, we know that this can happen if it takes too long for the orders to arrive, but we think it was on purpose, because she served us with great disregard, I will never go back to this place.

I had a horrible experience here, the service was appalling and the staff were very rude, we had to wait over an hour for are food and when it come they were very rude.

Well We were away for a tribute act weekend and fancied a pint before the English rugby match A quick Google and phone call sorted the fact that our lil puppy was welcome On arrival the bar staff were helpful and attentive For me the cider selection was poor ( personal preferences mind ) but I settled for an APA and the wifey wanted a half of lager The APA was lovely and no complaints from Mrs H But on payment I gasped at the price 10.50 £ for a pint and a half! Don't get me wrong I know inflation and bills have gone up but bugger me that's steep Plenty of sports screens and guessing the atmosphere picked up when the international came on but 1 and off for me at those prices Cheers 🍻

fantastic place for a good quality and fairly priced pint. I drink Guinness, which is very on and off in the south of England. however here I have never had a bad pint of Guinness. The staff are fantastic, particularly Abbie who is always friendly and quick on service- what more could you ask for? The food here is also very good for its price. You pay £10-20 for a meal that doesn't leave you still hungry. The fish and chips are particularly good. The pub always has footy on, which could be a turn off but there's always areas of the bar that don't have the game showing if that's not your cuppa, and when the match day ends it becomes a proper pub night, good music and good vibes. Great pub, and massive hats off to Abbie who is always on the bar when I'm here and is always the perfect bar staff.

Great atmosphere and service, the food and pints I've ordered here have always been top notch. Best part of my experience has been being served by Abbie, she is always friendly and welcoming.

I come here all the time as a uni student and the staff are always very friendly and the service is great. The quality of food is amazing and very affordable. There's also pool tables and darts and they always have the sport on the tv, just a great atmosphere.

George taps is my go to place for drinks as a student due to the low costs. There are heaters in the outdoor seating area and karaoke Sundays go hard.

My girlfriend and I stopped by George Tapps on our way home and were greeted by a wonderful staff team. We interacted with a bouncer and two bartenders, all of whom were lovely and courteous. When closing time came we were allowed enough time to finish up and were able to chat and socialise with the staff team, who were very kind and chatty with us whilst we finished our drinks. As a hospitality worker myself I can only praise the professionalism and friendliness of the team due to how they went above and beyond. I would 5/5 recommend this place to people grabbing drinks in Bournemouth (especially students)!

Went in for a birthday lunch yesterday the service was fantastic very friendly and a very efficient service, the food was on point came to the table hot and great value for money. I definitely recommend visiting The George Tapps

If your looking for a proper pub this is the place. Offer 2 pint beer glasses, pool tables, darts, good food and lovely bar staff. Beer garden Is huge and the inside bar is spacious. Literally don't have a bad word to say about this place.... If your in bourneworth, forget o'neills forget wetherspoon, come here and have a fantastic night

Wasn’t even through the door and older lady on the bar rudely demanded ID, no welcome or hello. I proceeded to walk toward the bar to give her my ID when she rudely demanded once again. I got to the bar and my friend had asked me a question so I answered him - as I was talking to him, she said “don’t walk away without showing me your ID”. I understand the necessity for proof of age as I myself work in hospitality however I had my ID in my hand and was willing to give it to her, a bit of patience wouldn’t have gone a miss. Very rude and unwelcoming.

Came in on a thursday after new years to watch the darts. After a rude customer asked me to move my bag (which i did) i thought i wouldnt be bothered and would be left to enjoy my glass of wine. Until the same customer approached me and asked me to move tables completely as i was “blocking her husbands view”. firstly, could her fella not have spoken to me himself? didnt realise it was 1942 and women had to complain so their mans felt more comfortable. secondly, THE TABLE WAS FREE. i then had a rude member of staff demand me to move tables (again, despite the table being free) because i was “refusing other customers to see”. call me entitied, bur if they wanted to sit where we were sat, they should have bloody sat there! was appauled by the way we were approached and treated! would not reccomend.

I had a really disappointing experience at George Tapps in Bournemouth. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, making what should have been a relaxed evening feel tense and unpleasant. To make matters worse, the drinks were ridiculously overpriced for what they were. Honestly, there are plenty of better places nearby where you can get good service and value for money. I won’t be coming back.

Unfortunately as I alone during Christmas Eve, I thought to go have a meal at George tapps. When I got there it was closed but was advertised that it would be open until 11pm, it’s 9.55 pm at the moment. It was alittle disappointing

A great pub for atmosphere when we visited last evening. However, I can not help but feel that a wait for 40-45 minutes for the food we ordered was very unacceptable. I went to the bar to complain but got told our good would be out next. In fairness, it was, but we felt the wait for the food was very unacceptable.

Me and my coursemates all love going to George Tapps. The service is amazing, as a student we get cheaper drinks (£2.75 cheaper than anywhere else we’ve been.) The staff are so nice!

Waited 45 minutes for my food, when served it was luke warm and not very appetising. Staff were unhelpful and rude. Won’t be returning here again, would not bother coming here if I was you.

Came here again. Lots have changed. New staff, New things they sell. Manager on duty with glasses, i must thank for being so patient with me. She was understanding on english, but helped with describing things to me, Will be returning soon.

Okay place to watch the sport but It needs a good clean or even a refurbishment.

Served our food ages after ordering then had rock hard naan bread circle? And a dish we didn't even order. When we complained we were offered drinks . But to tell you the truth we left no even finishing our meals as it was just poor . It wasn't as if it was busy think we'd just been forgotten.

Improvements have been made like new screens and a refurbished beer garden. Food is acceptable, but drinks are expensive for this type of venue. The staff is usually nice.

Went for dinner and stayed all night 🌙. Great night with good music, large space inside so not cramped. Lady manager on the bar was really nice and easy to chat to, there was also a guy bar man who was equally nice and helpful as we had only arrived in Bournemouth (can't remember names my bad). Good experience, not expensive.
