George Tapps in Bournemouth

After a long journey from Manchester we decided to take a quick stop at the pub. The bar was very busy however nothing was too much for the staff, all extremely friendly. Genna was amazing, making sure we’re happy with our drinks & food. For not doing table service, she knew exactly how to make a customer receive a 5 star service by asking how our dishes were and drinks were. Lauren was amazing and you couldn’t even tell it was her first day, smiling during service, both absolute credits to the team! I never caught the names of the staff on the bar, but thank you for the incredible service. You really made 4 old folks happy! You would not find a pub with such great management/staff than this venue. My pal also reviewed, we forgot to on the day! Thank you team.

Met up with old uni friends for a catch up, been a while since visited The George Tapps, but must say very impressed, good to see the manager from my student days has long since left. The venue was packed with an amazing atmosphere for the grand national, everyone was having a great time, the manager Richard was very friendly and welcoming, Lauren on the floor was a delight very friendly and you couldnt tell it was her first shift. The atmosphere was so good we stayed at the George Tapps once the sport had finished, as the DJ was playing some great music. Look forward to visiting again very soon.

Came to the George Tapps last night to watch the champions league with friends, must say what an atmosphere, staff were awesome, very friendly and smiley nothing was 2 much trouble. The venue was packed most say this is the best sports bar in Bournemouth will return thank you Richard and the team

Very large bar but can get very busy with sports on tv's. Keenly priced food with specials for students - another reason for being busy. Nonetheless, we visit everytime in Bournemouth.

nothing against the servers because theyre just doing their job but one our of friends was refused service without a reason then later got kicked out without a reason given despite being sober so that changed the course of our night and made us leave, i understand the right to refuse service ofc but i just wish we were told why he was turned away

Quite a dingy pub, drinks are cheap, but the bar staff are very rude and unhappy unfortunately.

The service here is standard but the bar staff don’t know what there doing changing prices from 2 pound a double to 10 quid each. It is not on!

Jen was an amazing host, always with a smile even though we were a stag do and a hard group to please.

I’ll start by saying I’ve been here loads of times and never had a problem. Today was totally different. Ordered a triple burger and was given a single patty. Manager said we were abusing staff because we questioned a deal we normally get off the A list. Would not refund the incorrect food. Used to be a good pace to come but this has put me off. The staff need to know what’s on offer and all sing for the same sheet

I came in on Wednesday was served by Emilia she was absolutely fantastic. I was very undecided on my drink and she helped me through all the options and gave me alot suggestions. Absolutely brilliant service from her and very kind. Loved it here

I visited George Tapps in Bournemouth for a birthday celebration on February 27th, 2024. Despite my initial excitement about exploring a new place, the experience turned out to be dehumanizing. The staff, while nice, appeared to be short-staffed, struggling to manage the workload. Unfortunately, the Supervisor or Manager's behaviour was the most disappointing aspect. She was unnecessarily rude, alleging that we were rude to the staff, which was untrue. Our request for assistance, like clearing a table, seemed to be met with hostility. It's disheartening to think that this treatment might be influenced by racial bias. This negative encounter significantly impacted the birthday celebration for my friend and I. In light of this experience, we decided to relocate to a different venue to salvage the celebration. I won't forget this incident easily, and I have no intentions of returning to George Tapps. The combination of staff shortages and unprofessional management left a lasting impression, and I cannot recommend this establishment to my friends. Additionally, I sincerely hope that the management of George Tapps takes note of feedback and reviews like this one. Establishments must address shortcomings and make necessary adjustments. Small mistakes and instances of unprofessional behaviour, as experienced during my visit, have the potential to significantly impact a customer's perception and overall enjoyment. Acknowledging and rectifying such issues can contribute to a better experience for future patrons.

Love the food and the staff are all lovely. Defo recommend.

Been coming here for many years with fond memories however today we have been met with a stinking attitude from the manager! Simple requests have been getting an outright rude response, do not feel welcome and we won’t be coming back if the manager keeps up her disgusting responses.

Called in when in Bournemouth, as not been in for a while, must say nothing has changed still got great service from Fiona and Richard, some interesting traditional ciders on that made me stay longer than i was intended to. Recommended the Burning hot burger, my go to venue in Bournemouth when visiting
