Service was ok, not too busy as a Tuesday night. Hubby and I went for a meal for his birthday. Menu sounded lovely hence why we picked here but unfortunately all the food we ordered all tasted the same and very bland. Not cheap either. 2nd time we've eaten here definitely won't go back.

Went for lunch with my mum on a weekday, the pub had a few customers in, the restaurant was clean and welcoming and was really looking forward to some dinner. When ordering at the bar I found the woman who served me looked very unhappy in her job as she did not once crack a smile and her tone of voice sounded like she couldn’t be bothered . We ordered off the lunch time menu and ordered 2 garlic mushrooms and 2 steak and chips. The starter (Garlic mushrooms) was not pleasant at all they were salty and the cheese in them was so strong you couldn’t even taste the garlic and the slice of brown bread we got with it was stale. The steak was shocking and had a funny smell like it was off or not being stored properly in a fridge. The chips were soggy like they had been laying in the fryer for ages, the best part was the side salad only thing fresh. Would not go again very disappointed with the food and such a shame as the pub/restaurant it’s self is a beautiful and in a lovely location

Very nice food with friends! We were sat in the beer garden and the sun was shining, unfortunately we kept getting a strong smell of blocked drains/rotten eggs? A few people commented & moved because of it. We would still like to come back again and try more food.

We have just been in for Father’s Day, such a lovely atmosphere, the staff really are great. They’re friendly, and go above and beyond. The food is lovely as well. The only thing that lets it down is the women toilets. We come in often as we usually come for a drink after our dog walks, and the toilets just look like they need some TLC. ( door locks can be broken, skirting boards are never clean) But overall we really do enjoy coming to visit.

The chicken salad was amazing and quick and pleasant service, reasonably priced too. Will be returning and recommending here.

I took my 2 grandchildren for a meal here and it was really nice. The place is lovely inside. We were served by James who was brilliant very friendly, helpful nothing was too much trouble for him. Food was very good. We will be back.

Good value food served with a smile in lovely comfortable surroundings. The Sunday roast menu is excellent value, lovely roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and tasty gravy. Good choice of starters and puddings. Helpful staff.

4 different meals, 3 courses with drinks at an extremely reasonable price. Service very attentive, nice atmosphere although think need more bar staff as we had to stand there for 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. This said, would definitely return.

This was my first visit. I went with a party of work colleagues for a Christmas meal. The atmosphere was nice, appeared warm and cosy. Staff were attentive and the was service good. I couldn't have the starter that I had ordered originally as it had gluten in, another option wasn't offered, so I presumed there was no alternative. My steak was very chewy, fatty and I couldn't eat it. I ate the chips, tomato and a little salad but wasn't keen on the sweet dressing. The majority of others in the party seemed to enjoy their meals. My dessert was good but I left still feeling hungry.

This is the second time we have had a re union at the George and Dragon ,The first was a lunch time session and tonight was an evening meal . On both occasions we were welcomed and had excellent service . One member of our party had a problem with her meal .. it was dealt with swiftly and was duly sorted ! All staff were totally professional and accommodating .At this time of year ... pat on the back !!Well done ! 5 stars for this evening ...

After eating here several times and really enjoying the food especially the Sunday dinner, myself and my partner thought we would bring our little boy here. I phoned to explain my son has dietary requirements and I asked what protein content the tomato pasta on the child's menu contained. I was told there is absolutely no way they could find this information and that they only had allergen advice available. I then paused and told the gentlemen I wondered what else I could do. I asked if I would be able to take something for my son but was told only food purchased on site could be eaten. My son was born with phenylketonuria which is a rare metabolic condition meaning his body cannot break down a specific amino acid hence why I need to control his daily intake of protein. Without doing this my son would in later life have severe learning difficulties. I have to write this review as people need to be aware of this condition and stop discrimination. Ensure that all information is available to a customer. If you can provide the allergens then why can you not advise the protein content when the children's meals are pre packaged? Food would have been purchased by myself and partner and it would have been nice to include our son which when eating out is not always possible due to ignorance. Maybe one day he will be able to enjoy a meal out and for me to not be turned down more often than not.

Been nearly a couple of years since it became part of Vintage Inns - a huge renovation transformed it into the gastropub it should always have been and is now consistently good. Excellent for families (we have two young children) and also for grown-up meals out. Great selection of food, beers and wine and, crucially, the staff are excellent. Has become a regular haunt.

I am new to the area and misread my satnav and took a wrong turning, we had been looking for somewhere to eat so we pulled in. I obviously had no expectations about the place so was pleasantly surprised to find a warm inviting place.We choose to eat in the restaurant area, although we could have eaten in the bar area too.The food was really nice, it was like gastro pub quality. It was not particularly busy so the staff was attentative and looked after us.I really liked the place and if I can find it again I would visit again

We have not been to this pub/restaurant for a while but found out it had been refurbished so made a visit one Saturday lunchtime. We were not disappointed, the decor was lovely, it was warm, we got a nice welcome and the food was very very good. There is a good menu to choose from and a good stock of drinks at the bar. We had a lovely young lady serve us who was bubbly, friendly and very helpful. We all had starters which were ample and the mains, rib of beef, which fell off the bone it was so tender, as was the other main dishes. We were very full but only one of us managed a dessert and we finished with coffee. The atmosphere was very nice, I would definitely recommend a visit to this establishment.

What a super meal we had on Saturday. Excellent atmosphere, food first class and well looked after by wonderful staff who could not do enough to please. Amy and Paige in particular where so helpful and ensured everything went smoothly. Judging by the numbers in the restaurant this is well worth visiting.

Had a walk down to the George. Lovely building, really nice staff who managed to fit four of us in and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Lovely desert too! Really nice location with super service. A good steak and huge portions on the 'trio' plates. Excellent!

Visited a few sundays ago for lunch with my partner. The food and service was excellent. We had the chicken pie and beef duo. Food was delicious and served quickly. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again!

Came for a late lunch. Food was lovely and service was really good. The manager seemed particularly friendly. One of the better vintage inns in the area.

Visited this place meals are very nice and get plenty of food on the plate its got friendly staff and it’s just over the road from the canal

unfortunately the new decor is deceiving, i had the soup and the lamb both specials that weren't special at all, the soup had good texture but was meant to be spiced as in the title but was very bland, the lamb its self was delicious and melted in your mouth, what it was sat on a bed of... not so much, The mash had been left to harden and was very chewy, the veg was just a mix all thrown on top of the mash with a very small amount of grave.

Visiting from Australia, this was our first visit to the George and Dragon while passing on the canal. This is a beautiful building from the exterior and soon as you walk through the door we were greeting like regulars. The range of drinks is extensive. The decor of the pub is in keeping with the period property creating a wonderful ambience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food we had was well priced, a decent portion and served in good time. We were looked after by Joe and Maria in the bar and by Ross the chef. I think they all deserve a special mention. I would recommend this establishment with no reservations.

For a small place, Apperley Bridge seems to punch above it's weight with the choice of good pub/ restaurants. The Moody Cow, The Stansfield Arms and the George and Dragon are three prime examples.

Went for a family meal, some had the fixed priced menu others a la carte. All food was very good (they do a very good steak) but the Rioja could have been better. We were looked after by Danny who did a great job and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend.

Very pleasant pub meal for the family on Mothering Sunday (pre booked table as very busy). Vegetarian options for 2 of the family. My salmon dish was lovely, as were the puddings. The roasts went down well too.

We had a bite to eat here at lunchtime because people kept telling how good it was. And it was! But we're not surprised as we now realise the previous manageress from Dick Hudsons (Maria) is now running the show. She was fantastic up at Dick Hudsons and it wasn't quite the same after her and her husband left. We're so pleased she's back in the game running a tight ship and ensuring we have a lovely pub to go to when the mood takes us. This will now be our new 'local'!

We are a family of four (two adults and two children aged 12 and 9). We had been for a walk along the canal and stopped here to get a drink. We ordered a blackcurrant cordial, a pint of lager and two posh juices (fruit cordial, soda water with fresh raspberries and mint leaves). Whilst having our drinks we decided to order food.

Good for a family lunch out - staff very friendly and child friendly - which is excellent when accompanied by 2 youngsters. Food was good and served on time by very friendly and welcoming staff.

Booked for a party of 12 as a reunion lunch. We were shown to our prepared table and quickly offered menu s . Our waitress was patient and efficient and our meals were served promptly. All members of the party were satisfied with the quality of their meals. The chef also accommodated a request for a fat free meal .

Todos tuvimos pizza, yo y mi novio pasamos el pollo y hongos Portobello y mi hijo de 3 años tenía el queso y el tomate. No es una miga de la pizza a la izquierda. Muy sabroso y muy bien presentado! ! Llegó en grandes tablas y toda la comida llegó rápidamente. Las bebidas llegaron en 2 - 3 minutos después de pedir, y el servicio era increíble, el personal que siempre sobre si necesitas algo para asegurarse de que todo es perfecto. Esto es realmente vale la pena ir! Id si he leído esta crítica se sorprenderá de lo mucho que este lugar se ha convertido en torno. Gracias Maria y equipo! Nos estábamos alojando en Yeadon Way (no muy lejos) por una noche y, como teníamos un vale (dado a nosotros como un regalo) para un Vintage Inn, decidimos probar el George and Dragon. Vaya, estamos contentos de haberlo hecho! Nos sentamos muy rápidamente en una ventana donde podíamos ver el mundo pasar mientras esperábamos para nuestra comida. El lugar tiene un buen aspecto antiguo pub de moda desde el exterior y el ambiente interior es genial. El menú era extenso y no había manera de que no podía encontrar algo adecuado para mi esposa y yo. Nos sirvió la encantadora Ellie que era muy eficiente y amable y nos hizo sentir valorado. Empezamos con un pan plano con queso para compartir. Era grande. Y muy sabroso. Sólo lo suficiente como para comenzar con abundante nos sin demasiado para lo que era seguir. Mi esposa, que ella declaró pierna de cordero encantador (casi me tenía que detener su recogiendo la placa a mano limpia. ) tuve un 12 oz chuletón del menú de ofertas, con fichas adecuadas. El precio era razonable y absolutamente delicioso. Recientemente comimos en un asador Miller & Carter, que pretende ser un asador de alta especialidad de clase (que significa que era caro) pero el bistec en el George & Dragon era mucho mejor. Para el postre, mi esposa y apple pudding de toffee pegajosa (con trozos de manzana) real y me decidí por el brownie con helado. Los platos estaban tanto peladas limpias. La factura llegó rápidamente después de que la solicite y, en general, nos pareció que era bastante razonable - £59 para ambas comidas, incluyendo dos copas de vino tinto y una pinta de zumo concentrado. I have eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. The menu has a good selection with specials also available. Also, very good pub if you are just looking for a drink. All staff are polite and friendly. Dog friendly.

Massive improvement since Vintage Inns took over the George and Dragon. Recommend for a lovely Sunday dinner and the Belgian Chocolate Brownie is delicious! Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Really enjoy the G&D; since its refurb and update to Vintage Inns, came Sunday for a late sunday lunch, food always very good. Opted for the Sunday sharing trio which my daughter and myself shared which came with all the usuals bits.

Llamamos el domingo para comer un bocado a las 5 de la tarde, como era una tarde soleada encantadora eligió a sentarse en la zona revestida, que sólo la hamburguesa en ambos elegimos un pan brioche y las patatas fritas en contraposición a las pieles de patatas fritas también incluido. Las hamburguesas eran grandes venía con Queso derretido y ensalada, pero lo mejor para mí fue el poco de tocino relish que pot probado sus y humo, ahora no estoy para tener relish, esta fue la primera. Con un par de bebidas y sentarse en el sol era sólo el trabajo. Otras al aire libre tenía el almuerzo de domingo diners que parecía importante y el dentro del restaurante estaba lleno. Ir para el cumpleaños de mi marido el domingo próximo. Cruzando los dedos que consiga una soleada tarde :-)

Me gusta la comida aquí es caliente y sabrosa. El primer plato era muy atractivo y nos sirvió el personal atento y profesional. Me gusta el diseño de la zona de restaurante en diferentes niveles, e incluso cuando hay mucha gente hay espacio entre las mesas. Allí fue la cantidad de tiempo entre platos. Hay un gran aparcamiento.

Lugar precioso para comer. Tan pronto entramos en nos saludaron calurosamente y nos llevaron a una mesa. El personal era atento, servicial y eficiente. El domingo comidas eran muy buenas, grandes porciones, bien preparado, aunque el budín de Yorkshire estaban un poco demasiado grande y un poco seco (difícil de conseguir realmente buenos en un restaurante). Me las arreglé para ahorrar para un dulce y que también era muy sabrosa.

Disfrutamos de una cena maravillosa aquí el viernes por la noche. Es probablemente más de un año desde la última vez que visité este pub y el cambio es increíble. Si me hubieran dicho esto, no habría ordenado la bebida, ya que tenía que volver a casa. Hubiera preferido una bebida con mi permiten la comida que ahora II de encontrar en otro sitio. Quería un almuerzo después de un paseo, no una comida de tres platos. Muuuy. . . Si como yo, son demasiado mayores para tener un padre de George and the Dragon en el Día de los padres. Tomó mi padre fuera un día temprano de padre. El menú tenía algo para todo el mundo. La decoración era muy agradable y todo estaba limpio y ordenado. El personal era amable y el servicio era rápido. Bebidas llegó en 5 minutos de pedir de ellos y la comida llegó recién cocinado y abundante. Sin duda volveremos. Tras una reforma reciente mis amigos decidimos tomar una bebida y un aperitivo.

Encantador ambiente relajado. Decidimos llamar a almorzar el sábado por haber sido antes esperábamos habitual comida de alto nivel. Pequeña decepción con mi pastel de pollo como la pastelería era sólo parcialmente cocidos pero el pollo y la salsa parecía haber sido superficial a otro nivel de calor.

Mi pareja y yo visitamos el George como una improvisada "bocado rápido de decisión". El servicio fue eficiente, la comida era excelente y el ambiente era agradable, creando un ambiente muy agradable. Sin duda lo recomiendo para un lugar para comer.

Como la mayoría de las críticas yo también dije que nunca volvería a poner un pie en aquí. Así que llevar, fuimos para una comida de cumpleaños, amigos, nos una gran fiesta de más de 15 personas, y tengo que decir que la comida y el servicio era perfecto. Tuve la dos platos menús por 14 libras. 95 excelente relación calidad-precio. Me impresionó mucho a la vuelta que me he reservado para mi cumpleaños a finales de este mes.

Me alegro mucho de que nos dio el George & Dragon vowing otra oportunidad después de hace unos años nunca a pisar en el lugar. La diferencia de la renovación como hecho, y no sólo la decoración, la comida de los domingos era fabuloso. Tenía una buena suerte en el resto del menú y volveremos en la siguiente oportunidad. El personal es amable, servicial y nada era demasiado problema.

Llamado en un jueves por la tarde mientras caminando en el área local. Pedimos un par de entrantes y patatas fritas para almorzar, que llegó rápidamente y era muy sabroso y bien presentado. I went with my parents on a Thursday late lunchtime,it was very busy but the atmosphere was very pleasant,we were acknowledged straight away given menus and a drinks order taken,after a few mins our food order was taken,there was a 25 min wait for lamb shank which my mum ordered,it wasn't a problem we chatted and enjoyed our wine,the food was tasty if a little pricey,but a nice place will definitely go back.

Un entorno agradable, pero me temo que nos pareció que la comida era una decepción, especialmente el plato principal. Tenía costillas tocino que era bastante bueno, pero en lugares y los tallos de brécol eran tan duras que es difícil de creer que se habían preparado! Una comida de domingo el Día de la madre, suena como una receta para una comida, indiferentes. No en el George and Dragon! Una buena variedad de entrantes, champiñones con ajo siendo mi favorito, seguido de una selección de las principales tradicional o un poco exótico, y para terminar un excelente cayera! Buena compañía fue el motivo de la visita, pero la comida se asegurará de que volveré en el futuro. Gracias por tan cálida bienvenida y una comida excelente.

Muy bonita decoración, excelente servicio y deliciosa comida! Tuve pierna de cordero con otros tener una hamburguesa o filete - lo que parecía increíble, y sin duda sabía de esa manera. Muy bien presentado y carne cayó el hueso! Ambiente encantador, todos nosotros disfrutamos de la comida en familia y con ganas de volver.

Bueno, qué puedo decir, aparte de una maravillosa comida cocinada a la perfección. Mi hijo y yo conseguimos una comida de domingo y no nos decepcionó en lo más mínimo, las porciones son muy generosas y muy bien presentada. Nuestro camarero era un joven encantador y muy servicial llamado Joe, él no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros.

Jueves almuerzo lleno para. Tenía 175 ml merlot x2. v agradable podría haber tenido más. Elegí un pequeño bocadillo de 4 onzas de carne y papas. Compañero tenía pescado y patatas fritas. . Ojalá que había elegido, que parecía realmente bonito servido con salsa de tarter y guisantes blandos.

Habiendo comido aquí hace muchos años que no tienen altas expectativas para mi comida pero al entrar en el restaurante era evidente cuánto había cambiado. La decoración es acogedora y un alto nivel de calidad, con una gran zona de agua potable. Nos dieron la opción de comer en el bar o ir hasta el restaurante, así que elegir el restaurante. No estaba muy lleno, pero sólo temprano en la noche. Que elegir el menú y la comida llegó rápidamente. Tanto nuestros cursos principales eran recién preparado y delicioso, la verdura fresca de repollo, zanahorias y brócoli fue un cambio agradable de los habituales del pub de algunas cadenas congelados. Las porciones eran grandes, así que nos decidimos por un flan de café y minibar cada para terminar la comida. Los dos estuvimos de acuerdo que la noche había sido de maravilla y sin duda volveremos.

El servicio de comida y bebidas en el pub era excelente, Lynne nuestra camarera tomó nuestras comidas para nuestra comida y bebidas, y llegaron rápidamente. La comida era red hot cuando llegó a la mesa y no fue una gran espera en comida también, a 10 - 15 minutos tenían 3 sabrosas pizzas en nuestra mesa. Mi pareja y yo pasamos el pollo y champiñones y nuestro hijo pequeño tenía una pizza de queso mozzarella niños todos fueron claras pronto después de llegar! Recomiendo este lugar a nadie, aunque la casa de diversión ha ido todavía es para los niños. Tan pronto como entras te son recibidos por el personal del bar y te presenta a una tabla. Servicio de 5 estrellas voy a dar aquí, es realmente el lugar para estar! Bajar y probarlo! !

Visited tonight with my partner for a belated valentines meal (as I was working) we were greeted my joe who showed us too our table were after no longer then a minute of us being seated we had a drinks order taken by Elly (who was very knowledgeable about the vast range of drinks they have offer) once the drinks had arrived we had already decided on our meals for the evening this was taken very promptly by Lynn who again was very knowledgeable about the menus available... no longer then 15-20 mins our food arrived and Omg! We were amazed at how the food was decorated and the portion size as well it was enough to fill even the hungriest of people! Definitely worth the price which considering we ordered from the valentines menu it was amazing value!

Started coming to the george and dragon on a regular basis, food is great and reasonably priced. And the service is terrific, 10 times better than the stansfield in every way .

Went to the George for valentines menu there were 3 couples the pub was really busy but we were seated as we had pre booked we got 3 courses for 20.95 omg the food was amazing absolutely stunning they were clear plates all round full bellys wine drank the waitress sorted out the issue on the bill prompt and we left a good tip the atmosphere was great a good time had by all we love the George x

We had the valentines meal 11/2/2017 It was amazing, food was delicious and came out hot , the staff were brill especially Amy really informative off the menu, and made sure we was looked after. just one discrepancy over pricing but it was quickly resolved, we will definitely be coming back warm atmosphere and freindly, beats the stansfield hands down.

Have visited a few times now and never fails to impress me..... food is always great as are the staff. Well done!!!

Habitación agradable, el personal era indiferente, comida normal. Nos dijeron que había mejorado, pero debe de haber sido pobres antes! ! Mi carne estaba muy duro y no de tamaño mediano a bien hecho, como habíamos pedido. Aros de cebolla y patatas fritas frías pueden haber sido congelados no fresco. Sólo nos preguntó si estaba bien cuando habíamos terminado la comida - pregunta automática, no interesado en la respuesta. No volvería.

Hoteles en otra oportunidad nos Vintage después de una gran decepción en otro lugar. Difícil de creer que es la misma compañía, simplemente muestra un equipo con el que están en el juego y un cocinero que se enorgullece de cocina y sirve platos frescos y sabrosos lo que es posible. Toda la familia nos quedamos realmente impresionados haciéndolo una experiencia mucho más positiva Vintage Inns.

Cuatro de nosotros cenamos aquí anoche. Habíamos mirado el menú en línea y encontrar más opciones en el menú Tabla. El servicio era rápido y amable, las bebidas no demasiado caro en comparación con otros lugares para comer. Dos eligió paté de pollo, seguido por otra tarta de salchichas y chirriar, y sólo tenía las gambas y vieiras en ajo entrante con pan y una ensalada adicionales. Visité aquí con grandes expectativas. Pedimos el Wagyu burger, que era excelente. Sin embargo, también pedimos el pastel de pollo. Cuando el pastel llegó parecía muy agradable en un gran plato de tarta. Tan pronto como se me rompió la cima pastelería los contenidos eran en su mayoría aire! , tenía un pequeño par de piezas de pollo en lo que era básicamente como simplemente para comer seco de pastelería. El servicio era bueno, pero les recomiendo si usted visita aquí para evitar el pastel pollo a toda costa, ya que no es barato para algunos seco pastel! .

Just a quick note to say thank you for hosting my grandmother funeral. The staff was amazing at keeping the food topped up for 80 people! Once again a big thank you to all the staff.

Primero intenté George hace 3 años, cuando era una deprimente, cutre, tipo almacén. Lugar excéntrica Nunca volvimos - hasta ahora. Wowzer! Renovación es increíble. Peculiar, cómodo, agradable entorno. Perros. Cenamos en el restaurante. La comida era estupenda. Sólo una pequeña queja fue que no había un montón de carne en mi pierna de cordero. Por lo demás bastante perfecto. Mención específica a los chicos de detrás de la barra que fueron super atentos, la flexibilidad del restaurante, ya que empujaba nuestra mesa de vuelta en una hora ya disfrutando de bebidas con amigos, y extendida a Elly nuestra camarera increíble.

Reservamos un grupo de cuatro para un sábado por la noche. El saludo fue amable, y era agradable y cálido por dentro, un paraíso en una fría noche de enero. Tuvimos que esperar un rato para nuestra mesa, así que estaban en orden de bebidas extra (y me pareció que el ginebras más caro empujaron un poco demasiado enérgicamente, añadiendo a nuestra cuenta).

Las críticas que leí eran muy buenos y mi hermana tenía realmente disfrutamos de una visita anterior, así que tenía ganas de comer el domingo. La comida llegó rápidamente y estaba bien caliente pero la carne asada era tan duro que no podía cortar. Para empeorar las cosas, la camarera parecía un poco molesta cuando nos quejamos, pero no comentó, comentó. Realmente no recuerdo una disculpa aceptable simplemente un comentario que se lo diría de la cocina.

Comimos aquí con un grupo de amigos la última noche. A todos nos encantó sus comidas y el personal y el servicio era amable y eficiente, sin ser intrusivos o prisa. Buena relación calidad-precio y el Wagyu Burger fue la mejor hamburguesa que he probado. La decoración es preciosa y todo el lugar estaba impecable. Ya tengo ganas de volver pronto.

Had an amazing Xmas day here. Food was beautiful, staff amazing and could not do enough, lovely ambience. We have also eaten here before Xmas and found it fabulous. The Standsfield Arms certainly have some competition! I highly recommend this place

No he visitado el George and Dragon, ya que volvió a abrir como parte de la cadena de cosecha. Desde luego que no me decepcionó hoy. Preciosa decoración limpia y cómoda, y música en el volumen justo. Eso es raro - gracias! El personal de servicio (Tania y James) era acogedor y amable y yo sentado y mi madre anciana rápidamente y cuidadosamente. Nuestro pedido fue tomado en la mesa y la comida llegó rápidamente. Tentados por la piedra caseras pizza recién horneada y no nos decepcionó. Se sirve en una tabla de madera con patatas fritas o ensalada, deliciosa y fresca. El toque agregado de cortador de pizza era genial y muy apreciadas. Sin duda volveremos y lo recomendaría a amigos y familiares.

Second visit this week for celebration of our two sons birthdays - thoroughly enjoyed both occasion and was especially impressed with the bottle of prosecco on the table today and the massive 25% discount through the week - well done George and dragon - what a turn around!
