I come here nearly every Friday on my break. Always have sausage and hash brown sandwich and a coffee it always been bang on cooked freshly quality ingredients lovely coffee and friendly service.

Order 2 baguettes and 2 waters Gave us waters straight away We sat there for half hour and people were having hot food that came after us ànd were served before us My mom went to ask about our food and they had forgot us My mom is diabetic so had to have her insulin We asked for our money back and left They didn't seem bothered at all Went around the corner to hannahs Better service by a mile Sandwich came within 5 minutes with hot chips as well Won't go to this place again Will go to hannahs They know how to look after their customers

This is a quirky cafe. Their customer service is good, their food (breakfasts) looked good, but their coffee is awful. Filter coffee was OK but their milk based drinks are not good. The filter coffee I was served had milk floating on the top as if it was off. I asked for it to be replaced with a cappuccino which was a nestle packet mix. Put your price up and do a proper job.

Service excellent from a friendly staff, the new owners have done a superlative job. A proper old fashioned, no nonsense eatery, no gismo coffee machines, just plain tasty hot drinks

Had a lovely lunch here and could not believe how much was on the plate - was not expecting that much food. Food was lovely. Staff were pleasant but took ages to be served - some staff do not seem to look if there are any waiting customers - appear to be in their own little world and not greeting customers when they walk in or acknowledging them in any way

Absolutely brilliant we stopped for lunch, 4 adults and a puppy and honestly nothing was too much hassle. They knew their jobs and the customer service was second to none. They brought the dog a bowl of water and a sausage it was a lovely thought and we really appreciated it.

Stopped for something to eat here while visiting the area, Breakfast was spot on, tasty coffee and served by a pleasant helpful staff. Will definitely come here again when in the area!

I love this place. It’s different to anywhere else in Cannock. It’s a cafe with abit of history and serves good hearty food!

went into George and Berties with a friend last week we have always found the food to be lovely with decent portions so I had ham new potatoes and peas my friend had the same but I had a large and she had a small one so dissapointing when the food arrived Ihad anther piece of ham and one potato more than her so Iwent out still hungry .Iknow with all this virus they are trying to get their moneyback but if it means smaller portions then they have just lst 2 customers so dissapointed.

Always quite busy,this coffee shop in the centre of Cannock offers delicious simple food.We usually go for the sausage"sarnies".The bread is lovely, fresh and of good quality as is the content of the sausage used.Both tea and coffee are freshly served.The staff are very efficient but at the same time friendly

My first visit to Cannock today & went in here for a bite to eat. Upon entering, it was very busy with not much room to move around in there at all and it was a bit like "where do I order" etc - pretty compact seating & tables in the the centre & then a few more tables & seats on the sides. Don't see many layouts like this, so it was a bit different. I reckon it's a popular choice with the locals as the staff seemed to know alot of the people coming in. I ordered the double sausage egg chips and beans and a can and it came to about £6.50. food was served pretty quickly considering how busy it was and was very tasty. Staff were friendly enough & called over to make sure that my meal was all ok etc. Overall, for the price, the service, & the food itself, it was definitely worth paying a visit to for my breakfast and I'd definitely return here again in the future if in the Cannock area.

George & Berties, recently been taken over by two former employees when the owner retired (the children had no interest in taking over the business!) Where do I start? It's highly recommended, delicious hot, freshly cooked food, there is always a generous amount on the plate and it's all at a very reasonable price which won't empty your purse or wallet - No wonder the place is so popular! - Coming to Cannock? Why not pop in to 'George and Berties' for a breakfast or a spot of lunch?

We sat down , everyone had been served , told us to hold on and they’d be with us in a minute. We sat for 10 mins while a waitress made 3 milk shakes very slowly and other staff floating around no smiles ...Then someone came from out the kitchen served a man who walked in and then a Lady who came in sat by us . This said waitress knew we had not been served but continued and to ignore us. Terrible customer service , will not go back , I rather go somewhere where your served with a smile and they are happy to have your custom ...

Friendly place and good breakfast reasonably priced. Was busy but quick service.Worth a visit to support local business.

Went in here off chance. The place I had selected barely looked open! Such a surprise. The main area is a three-sided counter with staff serving from inside it! Diners sit on swivel stools around the outside. It reminded me of a Woolworths I eat at in America 30 years ago. Food is cooked to order. My fish & chips were lovely and stayed hot all through. Nice atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff and no music. One slight disadvantage however - it is cash only - but is does say that everywhere. Worth going to Cannock to eat here alone! Would recommend.

Best breakfast ever had. So glad this place is staying open after the threat of closure. 1 gripe which may or may not change is the sausages. They used to be the butchers ones, but last visit felt it was supermarket packet jobby? May be a one off, but wont stop me coming in. The toast is extra special, no other place makes it the same.

Have been here several times, and the food and service is great. Went here for take away salad sandwiches which were made from scratch and probably the best we’ve ever had. Nothing was too much trouble.

Ordered a "belly buster" breakfast which came recommended. Waitress got my order wrong. When I received the wrong food, she was immediately argumentative and on the defensive, and had zero customer service skills. Had to stand my ground in front of other customers which was not a pleasant experience and surely not a good advert for the business. Won't be going there again! Food was average with much better on offer locally.

Excellent service very clean nice friendly atmosphere. Had the gluten free breakfast very nice all poached so nothing is contaminated. Eggs on toast was a bit greasy but okay. And cheap.

Visited 04-07-2018. Very welcoming, clean tidy location. Ham salad baguette came beautifully presented with side salad, lots of tomato and sweet corn. Baguette was pleasantly warm and soft. Excellent cup of tea also.

never had breakfast here before Sat by the wall on high seats very quirky lots of peapole eating which is always food sign we orderd 2 belly buster breakfasts 2 eggs 2 saus beans mushrooms hash brown 2 crusty toast and tea when it came was georgeous best brekkie in cannock ate the lot and good value for money

Happened to visit by chance, but so glad that we did! My girlfriend wouldn't shut up about how nice the waitress, Nieve(?), Was.

I have been visiting this little cafe for years. Excellent service excellent food and the coffee is beautiful. Changes to anything on the menu is allowed at little or no extra cost. Your doing this town proud ladies!!!

Love the home made food and love the girls that work there. Always friendly and attentive. Would recommend anyone to eat there.

A cool diner with regulars ... Always a good sign! We go once or twice a month.

We had a large breakfast was lovely, to many beans & tin tomatoes would have been better than a slice but overall was nice fast service to bring meals, bit of wait t be servered as very busy was 12.15 lunch hour, but enjoyed xx

Lovely little cafe for breakfast or lunch. Food is very good and service is always with a smile. Friendly local place, and always love any opportunity to pop in for a quick bite or coffee.

Excelente comida y comer experiencia. Más de un café, pero no es un restaurante, es única. He comido cada semana por 20 años. El personal es fabuloso y se sirven con una sonrisa.

i went into Cannock on thursday November 17th , decided to go into the cafe George and Berties for some lunch ,,, worse thing i could have done ????? i was not not asked if i wanted to see menu , so i asked if they did fish & chips they said yes!!!!!!! so i ordered fish and chips and a coffee ,, first the presentation of the food non existencet ,, i started eating the fish omg i just started gagging and heathing ,, the disgusting fish had hard lumps inside ,,the people around me notice i was heathing and told the waitress to check to see if i was ok ,,, they offered to change it i said no thank you i will have a egg instead ,,it took at least 15 mins to bring my food ,,it made me feel so ill ,,, disgusting how anyone eats there is beyond me ,, i had to travel back to Stafford on my way home i felt so sick and ill, ,,, all night i was going to the toilet ,,,

Met my niece on her break from work and decided to pop in here for a spot of lunch ...I was not disappointed very friendly quick service and the food was lovley very reasonably priced ...looking forward to going again !!

Have used this place when visiting many times, it used to be wonderful, not so much now. I would say bang average.Had the all day breakfast and it was aptly named, it took all day to arrive! Just was ok at best.

The staff in here are fab, very friendly and only too pleased to help, food is fantastic, good quality and cooked fresh, nice and clean I love it

Great breakfast. Very tasty. Full English and tea or coffee for £5.20 with 1 change allowed. Toast was bakery bread possibly tiger bread with real butter, I'll say it again REAL butter..... Not the cheap margarine that many offer. Bacon and sausage were excellent, well cooked and very tasty, it wasn't the cheap nasty sausages people deep fry and then towel dry. There were also plenty of beans and tomatoes which was great for dipping the toast in and mopping up. Very pleasant atmosphere , there is a seating arrangement around the serving counter on stools. Tables and chairs also available. The staff were very polite and it had a local feel with returning customers being acknowledged by their first names. If you're in Cannock town centre and fancy a breakfast £5.10 ( with a pot of Tea) champion.

Visited on the off chance whilst in Cannock for breakfast. The place was almost full and me and my partner managed to grab the last 2 seats. We were asked about drinks straight away then went on to order a large breakfast each, with changes which wasn't a problem. First of all coffee was great! Waited less than 10 min for food and when it came it was a good portion. Sausages tasted like good butchers sausages, bacon just as nice, mushrooms were to die for! To top it off they have freshly cut bread for toast and use REAL butter!! I'm extremely fussy with my food and I cleared my plate exclaiming how that was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. Ok, so the decor isn't up to much but for a place I didn't know existed I have to say I will be going back for sure, and recommending. At just over a tenner for 2 large breakfasts with drinks I think it will be very hard to beat. Furthermore, the staff, although very busy, were extremely friendly and welcoming :)

Very disappointed! From the outside this place looked quite quaint but on the inside it couldn't decide if it wanted to be an American diner or traditional English cafe. The balance & feel just wasn't right. There were no menus on the tables and we had to ask at the counter for some.The food was made fairly quick and was of ok standard but I've had far better. Our food was served which we had to collect from the counter but we weren't given any cutlery. After waiting an age at the counter I ended up having to lean over to help myself to cutlery.There were no toilets either!

Visited this establishment with my 9 year old son and a friend with his kids on Saturday. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be served by a rude woman with red hair, when the food did eventually arrive it came out sporadically. In fact my sons food wasn't even placed in the kitchen. Having given up my food to my 9 year old I requested a refund for his. Initially the lady with red hair said they do not do refunds and stated " your sons food will be with you when it is cooked " to my shock and awe she spoke to me as if I was a member of staff and not a paying customer. Then to our surprise she eventually gave in and slammed down the refund to my friend and gave me a disgusted look as if it was my fault that they hadn't cooked the full order. All in all very shabby service and especially as the lady expected a child to watch us eat our food whilst he waited. Totally disgusted with the whole experience !

forget the franchise coffee houses and get back in to the original cuppa and a toasted tea cake establishment in Cannock.good value, quick service and atmospheric.

Visited with my friend for toasted teacakes and coffee. Coffee great and toasted teacakes delicious.Service by the male server was excellent as usual. Lovely, friendly and polite service.

Nice place to eat although a little dark in decor could do with some modernisation but I suppose this adds to the ambience of the place food excellent freshly prepared friendly staff good selection

Went in on a weekday with two kids, have not been for a few years but have always enjoyed G+B in the past. Place was about half full and plenty of seating. There was no menus on display and limited specials. I waited 5-10 minutes for my order to be taken,then the waitress left mid order for 3-4minutes to go into the kitchen to check on availability. After another 5 minutes she took my drink order then told me I couldnt have the special (a baguette) unless there was 2 people having it. In the end we had ham sandwich and tuna sandwich and sausage with chips, 2 milkshakes an can of tango came to £17!!! Food was ok but I could do better at home. Very expensive,drab decor and to top it off no bathroom. Wont be going back.

Quite simply, one of the best full English I have ever eaten. Friendly staff, lovely freshly cooked food, I'd have breakfast there every day if I thought my heart could take it! Nothing more needs to be said!

Many, MANY, years ago this little bistro/cafe/diner used to be the only place in Cannock to have a snack whilst out and about. From memory I used to go there with my mother on Saturdays for something to eat - and it was considered a treat. I am talking 40 years ago though and I had fond memories of the place. So, yesterday ( Saturday ) my wife and I thought we'd take a trip down memory lane and go for breakfast.The decor had not changed. Whilst it may have been refurbished some time ago the colour scheme remained dark, the eating area around the servery was limited to space and the staff still wore the same attire as all those years ago - albeit I am not, for one minute, saying that the uniform was 40 years old!!The food - well...... I had a breakfast. Presentation was horrid !!. I am sure the chef / cook must have used a catapult to put the food onto the plate. The plate was awash - and I joke not - of baked beans. On top of the beans sat the sausage. On top of the sausage sat the bacon. to the side of the " meat " sat an egg with mushrooms on top. On top of all of this - believe it or not - sat some toast dripping in butter. Presented with this I immediately felt like sending it back. It looked horrid and didn't taste much better. Not once did the waiting staff come by and ask if everything was OK. My wife had a well done bacon sandwich and ended up cutting most of the fat off it to leave two pieces of bread and bacon that would fill only half of the bread. Coffee was OK and the bill came to just under £ 10.00. Would we go again?. Not on your nellie - believe me. The place was like going back in time - almost a museum should I say. The food and presentation was something out of the dark ages, the staff needed a kick up the bum to bring in customer care and overall, well I would use one word. Disappointing......

you can get a lovely coffee (lyons) topped up with hot milk,they have a very good menu. on the baps and roll you can have half portions on most, they put loads of fresh salad garnish even on half portions .they do great baguettes as melts such as tuna and bacon with goldem melted cheese,the brekkys are good with a very reasonable price,everything you eat here is lovely and fresh,filling and value for money.it you have;nt been here before you;ll love it or hate it,its a bit like the bar in cheers its u shaped most the seats face each other with the staff serving in the middle.there are some breakfast type bar seats on the sides aswell.its a bit like an old fashioned american diner but with victorian touches
