Although the food was good, there wasn’t the range of seafood options that I was hoping for. Some of the dishes felt overpriced, but still a good experience on the whole.

This place may have good reviews, but all we experienced was terrible service. We had nice starters and then waited 50 minutes for our mains to arrive. At this point we asked the waitress and she said just another 10 minutes, offering us a free drink as an apology in the meantime. 15 minutes later, no drinks or food and at this point we asked for our order to be cancelled. We received no apology or any concessions. They didn’t seem interested in trying to rectify the experience at all. Wish I had listened to the other reviews regarding wait times.

Okay, I don’t do this often but I’ll give it a go for this one because it deserves it. I had the cob and the cheesecake, and I also tried a bit of the pudding. Boy oh boy, they were INCREDIBLE. To be fair, we had to wait quite a bit for our order, but at the end of the day, we were rewarded more than handsomely with the exquisite food. Thanks so much!

What an amazing experience, my taste buds were on overdrive! I ordered a broccoli soup, seafood linguine and a pudding for dessert. Absolutely wonderful and one of the very few times that quantity and quality came hand in hand. Excellent

Best Seafood in Town! Great Food and nice Staff

Big recommendation!! Important to make a table reservation ☺️ The seafood is fresh and delicous, the staff is just lovely and the location is cozy and has a very welcoming atmosphere!! They are very helpful regarding extra wishes about the food - as I am pregnant they made little changes in my desert to serve it without alcohol. We had a sharded starter, two main fish dishes and two desserts.

The food here is on another level! Honestly, it had to be one of the best meals we had in Scotland, its pricey but well worth it. We had the daily soup (pea & wild garlic), cured salmon, cod with scallops, veggie haggis. All were fab

We were in Fort William for the first two days of our trip. We were there the first evening by chance and spent our second evening there again. Best Seafood Tagliatelle I’ve ever had.

We came across this restaurant by chance while passing through today. The food was super tasty, the service was very friendly (kind regards again to the waitress from Poland) a real insider tip. If we come to Scotland again, we will definitely come back.

First time at this restaurant, even though we have stayed at Fort William many times - certainly won't be the last... what a fantastic meal we had. From the service of the friendly staff, to the food and drink - we couldn't fault anything and this will definately be on our go to list for our future visits..... We started with the Cullen Skink (best one we have ever tasted - so packed with flavour and every spoonful was packed with fish and potato) - as you'd expect it was filling (although the bowl looked quite small - well perfect starter size compared to many we have been given, this was deceiving as was jam packed - a right hearty bowl of chowder right enough). Next we had a 8oz Ribeye and the Hake - Both delicious again - the steak came perfectly cooked - was so juicy and tender! Accompanied by 4 large homemade onion rings, 2 grilled tomatoes, homemade chips (to die for), mushrooms and a wee pot of Peppercorn Sauce - sauce wasn't even used as steak was so tasty and juicy.... I had to concentrate on just eating the steak because I was quite full after the Cullen Skink but of the other items I dud eat they were all tasty!! The Hake was completely devoured - every last piece, including the lentils etc that accompanied it!! Needless yo say after this, we couldn't possibly manage a dessert so settled for more wine instead but we have no doubt any dessert would have been amazing too. We will certainly be back that's for sure!! Would highly recommend to anyone!! Staff and atmosphere from entrance to departure were friendly and welcoming.

Lovely staff and great food. We had our wedding breakfast here and now our 1st Anniversary too. Its our 'must book' place for all occasions and never disappoints.

This place is great! We were visiting from New York, and were saying nearby for the weekend. It’s fresh and creative and really, really good, if you can definitely go!

Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. We were shown to a table and the staff looked after us very well. The food on the menu and specials looked varied and exciting, catering for most tastes. I chose the tuna steak, which was cooked to perfection, moist and cut through with the lightest of pressure. The tomato sauce was beautifully seasoned and so tasty! Cannot recommend the food here enough.

Highly recommend “Caramelised West Coast Scallops”. The scallops were very flavorful, smooth, sweet and large. Served with a green herb sauce that was flavorful and not overpowering. The lobster in white wine cream was also delicious. The sea trout that our waiter recommended to us was memorable, with succulent meat and a sauce with a variety of fresh vegetables and soy sauce, which can be very much to Asian tastes. The crispy fish skin was another level of flavor.

It's predominantly a fish restaurant, so I didn't expect to have such a tasty vegan friendly option. The Soup is vegetarian/vegan friendly, but also the Falafel dish is so tasty, Sweet Potato falafels with Peppers and Roasted Carrots, and Broccolini, it did have a mayo sauce on the bottom of the dish which I'm not sure was Vegan, but I don't like mayo so avoided it. The bread they give you to start with is so nice aswell. Friendly staff, fire as you walk in, small but lovely atmosphere.

This place was suggested to us from our hotel and unfortunately the first time we tried to go was fully booked. This is why I highly recommend to plan this in advance. The food and the atmosphere worth the reservation compared to the other restaurants of the area. They serve fresh fish and good wine. The prices were ok compared to the portions. They have a specials menu and the regular items. We mostly tried the specials as you will see in the photos. We shared a pumpkin soup and a salad with pumpkin, fig and burrata. For our taste the soup needed a bit more flavour, which was easily fixed with some salt and pepper. We all got fish dishes which all of them were quite tasty. The dishes come as “pre fixed” so for example when we asked for smashed potatoes they couldn’t add them in the dish. We offered to pay of course but they only served French fries as a side dish which was ruining a bit the healthy side of all the dishes we got. The only real «complaint» was that the pasta with fish was a bit extra spicy. I could handle it but I believe most people couldn’t. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you to visit this place.

This was our 2nd visit. It didn’t disappoint- great menu, food, service and atmosphere. Very good selection of fish and seafood. Highly recommend it to you.

Dinner was outstanding. We split a fish and I also had some mussels. The best mussels I had while in Scotland. Service was good even on busy night. I honestly recommend going here while doing a layover in Fort William

We went to Crannog at Garrison West after our wedding back in September and we are so incredibly happy that we chose this restaurant! The staff were so excited to have us and treated us like royalty. Our server, Alice, was an absolute gem. The food was incredible and I had the best scallops I have ever eaten in my life. A huge thank you to everyone at the restaurant who made us feel so special on our wedding day.

Wir waren unterwegs gewesen und hatten sehr dollen hunger. Als wir uns über maps schlau gemacht haben, stießen auf Crannog at Garrison West. So wie in Bewertungen zu sehen war, waren alle begeistert gewesen. Ich kann mich nur anpassen und noch mehr dazu sagen. Vom Empfang, Bedienung, Servierung und Beratung kann ich nur 10/10 geben. Ist bestimmt das beste Fish und Chips was ich je gegessen habe, muss wirklich jeder einmal her kommen.

Got the grand sea food platter, and Cullen skink. Talk about massive portions. Fed 3 of us easily. We definitely recommend this and will return.

A lovely venue, cosy, fun, welcoming but with a superb sea food menu and more than a token steak for non fish eaters- really impressive and creative non fish dishes. All the food is so clearly of the local area you’re eating where you are. The deserts were also not an after though but really impressive pastry cooking by chefs who prioritise all three courses. Superb service, friendly and professional with great advice on food and drinks.

This appears to be Fort William’s premier restaurant so it would be wise to book ahead. We arrived just prior to Storm Babet hitting and were keen for a good feed. Fortunately Crannog certainly delivered the goods. The langoustine starter was fresh and excellent value for money. Mains comprising fish and chips and a grilled cod were similarly excellent and dessert being a Diplomat pudding was stunningly rich. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the Glencoe area.

Just a great meal. I had the hake, she had the shellfish, the wine and digestifs were excellent, service great. They had none of the pinot noir we wanted at hand, so they dug around in the attic space until they discovered some. Recommend highly.

We booked after reading the great reviews and we’re so glad we did! The food was amazing and so tasty. We had mussels and scotch egg to start then hake and partridge for mains. The service was great. Only small down side was they had run out of Cointreau so couldn’t make a cosmopolitan! All was not lost had a lovely white wine instead! Would definitely highly recommend, thank you

Excellent dinner, nice place to stay.

We first came here just after lockdown was lifted & was happy & grateful that such places were able to stay open. They serve classic Scottish seafood fare: mussels, langoustines, lobster, fish and chips and on occasion scallops etc, but they cook it so well. One can order such dishes in so many places, but it is rare that the shellfish is consistently cooked just perfectly done (vs. cooked & held- losing the juiciness, or just plain over cooked). We have used every excuse to travel to Fort William whenever we visit Scotland & the timing fits in with lunch.

How this restaurant does not have 5 stars is beyond me. I had dinner here tonight, half a lobster and mussels in the most delicious sauce. The dessert was a great treat as well and to round it all off, the service was incredible, sweet and very attentive. Highly recommend coming here but make a reservation.

The staff were all friendly and efficient. We arrived early and it was no problem. The food was wonderful, locally sourced and the freshness showed. For starters we had the Kinlochleven mussels and Cullen skink. For mains the roasted hake and the special roasted Maillaig monkfish. First class quality and made a birthday meal really special

Don't skip this place if you get a chance to go, seriously the best seafood we had our entire time in Scotland. I've never had fish cooked more perfectly than their hake. Also tried lobster, mussels, and scallops and all were also amazingly good. Dessert was also great, the ricotta ice cream was so unique and the Gaelic coffee was a delight. Reservations are a must, they do run out of seatings.

Came in a group of 8 friends. The food and service was brilliant (although expensive - but you get what you pay for!) However, the experience all went very sour at the end when it came to paying the bill. Management insisted that we could not pay separately and they would only allow one person to pay the whole bill - which came to over £700! We would normally split this equally between us, but a few of our group had lobster and bought some v expensive wine, whilst others were not drinking! They were completely inflexible and became quite aggressive when we questioned this, saying it “was their policy”. They gave us no warning before we ordered - and there was nothing in the menu to suggest that this had to be the case. They claimed that they had mentioned this when booking - but not so! Fortunately one in our group had plenty of credit left on a card and had no choice but to pay. If they had given us some warning, we would have all ordered separately or by couple! Certainly left a v unpleasant taste and we didn’t appreciate being treated like this. Neither my friends nor I have ever experienced this - and we have eaten at some v fancy restaurants in our time. You have been warned!

The food here is excellent and along with superb service, Garrison West is to be recommended. It was our best meal whilst we visited Scotland.

Booked for lunch for friend’s birthday. We were allowed to select a preferred table. Starters of Cullen Sink were a perfect antidote to a cold, miserable day. Mains of Cod with Gnocchi, courgette with pine nut pesto and Roasted Hake with smashed potatoes were both hearty and flavoursome. Selection of wines from South Africa, South America and France. A delightful lunch and we would be happy to return.

Es war eine Freude dort zu essen. Schon der Service bekommt 5 von 5 Punkten. Wer Fisch liebt MUSS dorthin! Als Vorspeise hatte ich die Tagessuppe ... Curry-Blumenkohlcremesuppe. Ein Gedicht. Mein Mann hatte gedichtete Muscheln. Zur Hauptspeise hatten wir beide Seelachs mit Erbsenpüree und Bohnen in einer göttlichen Sauce. Das Dessert passte leider nicht mehr rein, aber was wir auf den Nachbartischen gesehen haben, war sehr verlockend.

A very restaurant but they managed to squeeze us in. I’m so glad they did. Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and the overall feel of the place was welcoming and ensuring their guests had as an enjoyable time as possible some pictures of the food for anyone who is thinking about booking (and I would suggest you do book!)

De passage dans la région entre l’île de Skye et Glencoe, nous nous sommes arrêtés ici un midi sur les conseils du guide du routard. Cela ressemble d’avantage à un restaurant qu’à un pub…mais cela n’est pas négatif. Très bonne cuisine de la mer style pub mais avec un service de restaurant et le prix plus que raisonnable. Très bonnes bières locales. L’accueil est chaleureux et convivial. Une très bonne adresse à Fort William!

Cozy pub setting with great food, service and ambience. This seems to he the place to be in Fort William, nestled in an old garrison type longhouse. The service was great as well as the seafood. Definitely recommend making a reservation.
